So ive been running nicehash on my pc when its not in use to earn a couple of $$. Today I noticed that instead of the usual 40+Mh my 1080ti gets its dropped to 22Mh with the same settings in AB.
Any one have any ideas why?
I have quite a few mining using nicehash and simple mining they are all doing 39-41 mh

Two 5700xt hashes 108Mhs with 230w to 250w power consumption Three 5600xt hashes 114Mhs with 255 to 270w power consumption
There's no big difference in terms of efficiency, at least in my opinion Maybe the new navi cards will increase this efficiency
Most Nvidia cards I used to reduce TDP to 60% without any decrease in hash, but this 3080 looks very hungry power
In my country it's almost impossible to get one, there's no cards to buy, even the 3090 are out of stock
Right now, I would not touch any rtx 3080 at all, too many issues but as soon as the issues are fixed then I will think about buying one. The good thing about the 3080 is that you get a good performance without the need to change the bios, flashing bios can be very painful, I never bricked any but is better if you can avoid that. Also for management 1 card is better than 2 cards, in the long run running systems with 1 card the uptime is a lot better than running with 2 cards, so the uptime the 1 card instead of 2 provides pay off the electricity, I mean, take for example a system with 6 gpus and then a system with 12 gpus. The uptime a system with 6 gpus will be at least 5% more than the one with 12 gpus, also the more density it gives the less you need to spend with a second system, example, motherboards, memory rams, motherboard and so on. It may be unnoticeable for some people but every time a system restarts you lose from 1 to 10 minutes and sometimes you lose a lot more than that, so if a system restarted 4 times per day then you may have lost almost 1 hour and that is a lot. Well it is something to think about. if i could find a 3080 blower style i would buy two or three. say 3 for 2000 or 2100. nvidia tend to run more stable. I have two empty boards. a six slot and an eight slot. 14/2 = 7 slots doing 85 mh = almost 600 mh. if i use 5700 xt we are doing 7 x 50 = 350 mh. a lot more hash in the same spot more stable.

Thank you for the research. Beyond stupid as barrel adapters are far more sturdy then usb-c cables and ports will ever be.

I think one box has a 15k cfm fan I think you can join four boxes 📦 and go to 60k cfm
we have one 13.8 k cfm fan it is not crazy loud as it has a four or five foot width. it does not spin super fast . so it is deeper pitch and not terrible.
but like you said 70 units with four small fans each will make tons of high pitched noise way over 85db.

Most mining machines are made in China, so despite the tariff, it's still hard to avoid buying from China without just quitting mining all-together.
However, I have noticed some of the machines are put together in Malaysia, and I have not received a tariff bill for those machines yet.
Is there a way to verify which machines are manufactured outside of China as a way to reliably avoid this tariff?
Also wondering if there is any other way to avoid paying this upcharge on miners from China, thanks for any advice.
Legally buy Malaysia built. You can email bitmain to ask them where the miner will come from. try this email webmaster@bitmaintech.com

Hellow, I'm a new miner and I have a problem with my gminer, it shows me that my GPU is out of memory. I have Nvidia GeForce 930X 2GB. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fibb.co%2FK9X1c0N&t=663&c=ZmxGZQ9CJI5Z4w) I searched online for a solution I found a lot of people suggest that I should increase virtual memroy, but it didn't work any suggestions? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fibb.co%2FTPtjV61&t=663&c=QxCztrTciUVH4A) USE A CARD with 6gb ram not one with 2gb. I think that your card is pretty much fully useless For mining. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shop/geforce/?page=1&limit=9&locale=en-usthis shows some with 6gb.

If the world had a thousand or more of these towers as tesla hoped for it would have been used as a death ray. Think of the ability to move power around like caged or tame lightening.
world leaders would direct all the power from all the towers to any place they wanted to fry.
I have no doubt it could have been done with a lot of towers spaced just far or just close enough to work.
But the temptation to weaponize it is why it was not used all over the world. BTW this is simply my opinion and I don’t have a lot of facts. One fact is it was sometimes called Tesla’s death ray in newspapers.
Simply google “tesla death ray”

yeah I was pretty sure just worded it carefully. As I am far from expert when it comes to high power setups.
we could run a lot more gear but the fud caused by covid-19 has set us back a bit.
going to meet with warehouse owner this weekend and talk a bit.
I would like to run a mini pod with all s19 pro maybe a mix of t19.

Bad news for me. They are claiming DHL increased shipping fees despite it weighing less. The fee happens to be equal to almost exactly what the PSU cost. I got a $3.34 discount applied to the new order...lol. I really wish Canaan would offer some better gear already.
hmm this could screw me too as my order was for 2 psu’s i will check website and get back. edit: so far no news on shipping my two psus.

we are a ware house built pre wwii our concrete slab is six feet of poured concrete. the orginal use was building military gear for wwii. we have many panels for power and I checked we are 480 and we are 3 phase
we usually run at 219 to 229 on each and every phase.
however there are two really large transformers inside the ware house that may help the 480 turn into three phase 208/220
I know there are three legs labeled a,b,c and each 30amp feed has a,b or a,c or b,c gives us 219 to 229 pretty steady.

FTFY:But between people who call it a hoax, and people who overact to it a little with insane panic? The first set are the idiots. Why not both? The real problem is simpletons with absolutely binary thinking: Either Covid must be treated as the new Black Death, or Covid does not exist. How about some nuance and rationality?
P.S., The trick with Covid is it is so contagious that just about all of us are going to get it. And that means that <1% who it kills? There are a lot of them. That hearkens back to my own first public statement on Covid. Guess what, 100.0% of humans die—and as you yourself noted, people are going to get Covid anyway. Obsessive fear of Death destroys life, especially if it parlays a not-very-scary Plague into very-scary Famine. And/or War. Dear readers of the forum:
Some of you will die from the coronavirus. (—Some few of you: The virus has low lethality except to the aged or otherwise frail.) The virus may kill me, too; maybe, maybe not. That is acceptable: Life is risk, and death is a part of life. My only sadness is that sometimes, the worst befalls the best of people.
What is unacceptable is panic, bureaucratic “do something!” tyranny, and worst of all, hybris.
I hereby use an archaic spelling for the subject of a principle long forgot. The only difference between using a six shooter then playing Russian roulette with it and going to parties and bars is the math. 1 in 6 vs 1 in 100000 if you are young and truly healthy. Most won't play the 1 in 6 game and right now too many play the 1 in 100,000 game. In a years time there will be treatments for it that are not vaccines. Regeneron comes to mind. So why not play it safe for a while. Now this is a 63 year old typing not a 28 year old.

I'm no scientologist but I do believe most of those things aren't animals.
well the car is not an animal. it is a joke haha the rest are animals, but not all are mammals. none are plants. if i recall life has plants animals. some one must have a chart or two. on how the animal kingdom breaks down. I would argue that humans kill more and that chart is only including murder.

Same issue more than a few times for me on launch day. I've given up trying at this point. Yeah I will get one down the road. Just because I would want one. But for now I am power capped.

Newegg isn't even sending me "In-stock" notifications. If people are able to get 6900XT before 3080s doesn't that mean that AMD effectively launched before nVidia ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Moore's Law Is Dead is stating that AMD has put 5700XT production on hold to get 6900XT out the door. I think my chances are better with AMD (seeing as how most casuals only want nVidia - for GPU anyways). If they do a launch of the 6900xt and it does 75mh-80mh for eth at 110 watts it will sell like mad. In the meantime I have about 1.835gh mining eth earns about 48 usd a day. toss in a little xmr and some kapow I am making about 55 a day. If the 6900xt drops at 350-450 and does 75-80mh for eth at 105-110 watts it will be a nice win for amd
