12861  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets still aren't secure, and they never will be. Use paper wallets on: August 17, 2019, 07:07:41 AM
Is there any such device that can counter the type of virtual chip I discussed above? I mean can an attacker actually come to know the exact body part and area where such a chip is stored?
If the chip transmits over the same frequencies as phones it can blocked using a cell phone jammer. A jammer isn't directed to a certain body part, for example towards the wrist like in your example. It blocks all signals in the entire room. We had these at school. They were used to prevent students from cheating on exams who would be in contact with someone during the exam who helped them with the questions.
12862  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i just thought something about campaign on: August 17, 2019, 06:57:23 AM
im not blind so i'm very confident on what i saw on that campaign. we shouldn't tolerate shit posting here, check it by yourself if you don't believe me.
Check what? You haven't posted anything concrete. All you have done is you have accused two very reputable campaign managers of not doing their job properly because they allow "shit posters" in their campaigns. Can you show a few posts of the "shit posters"? You don't even have to mention names if it makes you uncomfortable, make a screenshot and omit the names.
12863  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: August 16, 2019, 07:44:47 AM
anyone who wants to win here, be prepared that everything will be taken from you!
Mistakes can happen and it is possible that the support made one as well. Instead of accusing them straight away try to explain your problem in a calm and civilized manner. You can see that something similar happened to marlboroza. Maybe they detected a similar IP, username or whatever.
marlboroza resolved his issue talking to the support and so can you if you are interested in doing it the right way. You can also address your problem in a professional way in their discord server as well.
12864  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Were my bitcoins stolen? on: August 16, 2019, 07:26:41 AM
there's vulnerability which allow someone to steal your bitcoin on version 3.0.4 or older
if you didn't protect your wallet with a password, a thief can gain access into your wallet
This is true but according to the post made by theymos this vulnerability could only be exploited when the wallet was being used. The OP claims that he lost his bitcoins in the moment he sent his transactions. I am not sure how exactly he was using his wallet because the 3.0 version he had can't connect to any servers. How could someone exploit his old Electrum version so fast, exactly at the time he was working with his wallet? Presumably that everything went down exactly as the OP wrote.

This is the part in theymos post that mentions the vulnerability.

Quote
You don't necessarily need to rush to upgrade. In fact, in cases like this it can be prudent to wait a while just to make sure that everything is settled. The important thing is to not use the old versions. If you have an old version sitting somewhere not being used, then it is harmless as long as you do not forget to upgrade it before using it again later.

12865  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin Sending Fee - Indonesian Experince on: August 16, 2019, 07:09:43 AM
I will mention something that other users didn't mention so far.
You mentioned that you intend to send your friends a couple of satoshis every now and then from your exchange wallet. You should know that most exchanges, probably those Indonesian exchanges you mentioned as well, have a fixed minimum withdrawal amount which means you can't withdraw less then X amount of Bitcoins.
Lets say that amount is equivalent to $10 in BTC. If you are planning to send a lower amount then the fixed minimum you wont be able to do that. So besides the fee you also need to take into account this minimum withdrawal limit.

Snip
I wanted to hear how the OP thinks and based on what he is making those claims. He mentioned that those 'bad posters' are from one of the campaigns managed by Yahoo62278 or DarkStar_. Highly unlikely that some of the most knowledgeable and active users in the technical sections of this forum don't now how to post. But lets wait for some feedback by the OP.
12867  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Arachnophobia - HELP on: August 15, 2019, 09:37:37 AM
How did this fear begin? Were you always afraid of spiders or do you remember a time when you weren't and what triggered the fear?
Since you live in the UK, most of the spiders you find in your home pose no threat to you. What do you think will happen if you get in contact with one?

When I was kid I was afraid of the water. Me and my family used to go swimming every weekend so I had to learn how to swim. At the time I was not afraid of the water. We had a teacher and she instructed us to jump in the pool. It was not deep but when I jumped in I got a lot of water in my nose and mouth and I took a deep breath that made things worse, I started to suffocate and the teacher had to pull me out. That is when my fear of water begun. It lasted for months and I couldn't learn how to swim because all I could think about was the day I was pulled out of the pool because I nearly drowned.

Do you know how I learned how to swim?
My father got sick paying for swimming lessons and me not learning how to swim. One day he took me to the big pool, put me in and swam with me. I was shaking and crying but you know what happened? Nothing! I didn't drown and I learned to swim that day. A few weeks later I was jumping off the 3m diving board!

The point is you have to face you fears or have someone help you or force you to face them. At the time I didn't understand the reaction of my father. But now I am grateful he did what he did. Those little spiders can't do you any harm. They have a thing for the flies and bugs in you home!

Start out by feeding them. Catch a fly put it in their nest and notice how they will wrap it up and save it for later.
After you are comfortable with that put a finger close to a spider and have them run over it. Step by step you can overcome your fear.

When you say that you found members from a Bitcoin campaign that are not good posters can you explain what exactly is wrong with their posts?
Saying that someone is not good at posting doesn't really hit the spot, it is not specific enough.

Are they giving wrong advice?
Are they not good because they make grammatical or others structural errors in their posts?
Do they spam and create meaningless posts?
12869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck on: August 15, 2019, 08:41:06 AM
Yeah, I sent very little there, wanted to see if the exchange was reliable since I do not know. I already contacted them, they only answered me, that the limit was 0.001.
Which exchange is that and is it stated in their TOS that there is a minimum deposit? Can you contact their support and ask them if you can send the remaining balance to respect the minimum 0.001 BTC limit?
12870  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano S or Kasse Hardware wallet on: August 15, 2019, 08:28:40 AM
How to check Nano S is fake or not? I just bough a Nano S lastweek but my friend told me its fake Sad
Where did you buy it from? Hardware wallets should only be purchased from the official site or an official re-seller with links to the product.
It is a bad idea to buy new or used hardware wallets from third party sellers in order to save a few bucks.
12871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 15, 2019, 08:21:54 AM
Let see if Sarri could make a difference on how they play and maybe after a few games this season you might start to like on how they are playing.
I think there already is a difference. Especially in their passing and the build-up play seems faster and we can see hints of the "Sarri ball" being used. Unfortunately the defensive structure isn't on top which has resulted in Juventus conceding 2-3 goals per game during the International Champions Cup. They look good on the field but the results are missing. Previously it was the other way around.
12872  Other / Meta / Re: Spam Sections on: August 14, 2019, 09:39:52 AM
Any board where you are stating your opinion and not facts tends to have more spam than those that require a very specific post.
Topics in the gambling sections are about your favorite casinos, gambling system, stories of big wins and losses and topics were there is no right or wrong answer. Therefore there are many spam posts and repeated answers.

Boards like Technical Support are strict and you cant spam there as the problems and discussions there are very specific.
If a user requires help to setup his hardware wallet your post needs to be about how to do that in a proper way. If you try to spam that thread about your top 5 hardware wallets and how cool they are, your post will be deleted.
12873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving 26 Newbie/Jr. Members a Chance to Rank Up on: August 14, 2019, 09:22:09 AM
Although your post was written after the deadline I set at 01/04/2019 I find it very useful and informative and it deserves more merits than it got so far.
Nice work, keep it up.
12874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 14, 2019, 09:14:21 AM
Personally, I didn't like the way they played football last season. But this is just my personal opinion of course. It depends on the kind of football everyone likes to see.
Juventus doesn't care what people want to see. Maybe that philosophy will change a bit now with Sarri as a coach but throughout history Juventus has always believed in only one motto: "Winning isn't important, it is the only thing that matters!" - Giampiero Boniperti
12875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck on: August 14, 2019, 09:05:00 AM
Crazy.... I didn't know all this

.looks like I am screwed
You are not screwed. All that was needed was a bit of patience for the mempool to clear and for the fees to drop to your 1-2 Sat/Byte.
And that is exactly what happened and according to block explorers both of your transactions now have around 70 confirmations.  Wink
12876  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Biometric BTC wallet? on: August 14, 2019, 08:42:42 AM
I would never use a fingerprint as a way to secure my crypto holdings.
The quality of your print can change as years go by. A close family member of mine had difficulties getting a new ID because more than 80% of the quality of the fingerprint was lost. He works with hot water which is probably the reason his prints are almost gone. Securing your assets that way could mean trouble someway down the road.
12877  Other / Meta / Re: Does this post deserve 10 merit? on: August 14, 2019, 08:33:00 AM
It is difficult to suggest that these two are alt accounts on the basis that they recently woke up.
I wasn't suggesting they are alt accounts. I was just stating the facts as described in my previous post. If they are alts or not is not for me to decide. If the merit sender thinks that post deserves those merits it's his decision.
12878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best wallet for crypto noobies? on: August 13, 2019, 09:06:38 AM
Depending where you are from you probably have some local cryptocurrency forums where people discuss and trade crypto. Try and search for one in your area. If they have a marketplace chances are you will find miners who are selling their own coins. You can pay them from your bank account. That way you will be saving on fees that you would pay exchanges for using their services.
You need to do your own research though and make up your mind who to trust.
12879  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3.3.8 not connecting since days? on: August 13, 2019, 08:49:36 AM
What I've tried so far:
- tried to manually connect to the servers that are available inside the software, as well as those listed at https://1209k.com/bitcoin-eye/ele.php
Any other ideas?
When you connected to Electrum servers manually did you untick the option Select Server Automatically?
If not try it again making sure that the option is unticked.

I got 3 correct prediction only but it was fun.
I also got 3 correct.

BTW for those who don't know how to see their predictions from previous rounds all you need to do is click on MATCHDAY or the little arrow next to it and click on the round you wish to see.
