12921  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to follow a user? on: March 01, 2018, 01:11:58 AM
Well, the reason is that I am trying something like "customize my feed".

When I click on "Show unread posts since last visit" it's 90% ANN posts.
When i click on "show new replies to your posts" it's better, but still many ANN threads and a bunch of things that I no longer have interest...
When i click on some board i see a lot of posts that don't interest me as well, and i have to slowly read one by one looking for a one that interests me...

In reddit for example I can subscribe to subreddits that I have interest. In facebook i can follow people that have the same interests that I do.
I know this place works differently, just trying to understand how it does.

Still learning, few weeks here...
12922  Other / Meta / Is there a way to follow a user? on: March 01, 2018, 12:35:07 AM
Is there a way to follow a user? Like add him to watchlist?

It can be a suggestion, if impossible.
12923  Other / Meta / Following Merit and Forum Navigation on: March 01, 2018, 12:00:05 AM
I am in this crypto world for about an year, but I was almost solely on Reddit, and I am new to this community.

I ignored bitcointalk for some time, but I was in need for some more technical discussions about bitcoin and I created an account here few weeks ago.
I always found very hard to navigate in this forum and find useful information.

Well, i just discovered a way to read only good topics and discussions.
Just want to share my small discover with you guys.

I clicked on a user that I found who had huge amounts of merit, like 1300, a lot of earned merit. Then I looked over his merited posts, and the posts he gave smerit.

I was amazed! How many good content we have here!! I have a lot to learn.

This community is much better than it looks like!
12924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming forked coins? on: February 28, 2018, 06:45:15 PM
I have a question regarding claiming the Bitcoin Private (BTCP) coins or any coins forked off Bitcoin in general.

Before importing the private key from my current BTC wallet into the new wallet, in this case the Bitcoin Private Electrum Wallet, is it okay to move my BTC balance off the original wallet? I don't want to move my BTC to the Bitcoin Private Electrum Wallet.

Any insight into how these things work would be greatly appreciated.

Just move your bitcoin to another wallet.
When you put your private keys in electrum or any other program out there, they are exposed. So they are not 100% safe anymore.

When you have moved the bitcoin to another wallet, you are safe to get your forked coins in any wallet you like.

I didnīt even know this bitcoin private.....

I have claimed BTX, BTG, BCH and BCA, all in coinomi wallet.
12925  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Jr Member Signature Bounty on: February 28, 2018, 06:40:59 PM
Are there any signature bounties out there for Junior members as well.
I saw some in the past (like Denarius), but it seems, that its not possible anymore to join them as a jr member.

i choose this one. Decent.

People say Yahoo is the best manager out there and the reward is pretty good. Check it out
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3032579

The coin looks pretty good too, decent is receiving good rating in many sites out there...
12926  Other / Archival / Re: 💥🚀[ANN][ICO] INS ECOSYSTEM - Connecting Consumers and Grocery Manufacturers 🚀 on: February 28, 2018, 03:11:49 PM
I am eligible for airdrop but I don't want to receive free tokens. I have learned in my life to earn stuff through hard work instead of charitable events. Could you please remove me from airdrop? I don't want anything free tokens - I am not a chicken

This is the first time I see how people refuse to accept additional money. You have contibuted to the project by your money and the team wants to thank you by airdrop. There's nothing offending in it for you.

Yeah.
I mean, whats here to be ashamed of?
Its just like an additional bonus at the crowdsale
This does not make sense to me, as an investor we are entitled with that kind of benefits and I think we should be glad rather than not accepting
that free money. This project will grow and the price will increase so even if you will get 1 token during the airdrop, it's already worth.

I donīt consider free money at all. I paid for my coins at the tokensale, and I feel like this is still the return of my investment
Do not worry this happens, to this you just need to be prepared. I advise you just to wait, now this is the best option.

hey, people who joined in the ICO are all green. We are not worried  Tongue
I am about 30-40% gains in this coin, which is pretty good
12927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Global Crisis, CRYPTOCURRENCY is in danger. on: February 28, 2018, 02:09:26 PM
Well if there is a global crisis the Stock Market will go down.

This may be good for crypto. Many times when global stocks are going down, bitcoin is going up.
I think a global crisis is a good opportunity for crypto. Bitcoin risk is dissociated from most of risk involving the stock market
12928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which type of coins will be strong in 2018? on: February 28, 2018, 02:07:27 PM
I think smartcontracts are going to be the future. Donīt know if 2018, but soon.

Ethereum is plataform build specifically for smartcontracts, so itīs a safe choice in my opinion.

But every smartcontract has this limitation: It cannot get data outside the blockchain without an Oracle. This way, I think Chainlink is one of the best bets out there too. Chainlink is a fully decentralized oracle with a testnet running, and still small marketcap.
12929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you day trade or prefer a long term hold? on: February 28, 2018, 02:04:35 PM
Crypto have been in a strong bull market for some years...

In a bull market the best strategy is to just Hold.
If this situation changes, other strategies will become better, but for now, hodl is the best option. Unless you are a professional trader, which most us are not.
12930  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Stock Market Vs Crytocurrencies on: February 28, 2018, 12:48:05 PM
For those hodling cryptocurrencies, do you also have anything invested in stock? If so, how much do you have in stock vs. crypto as a percentage?
Do you participate in forex trading?
Do you own gold or other precious metals?

A diversified portfolio is critical for responsible financial growth. Remember it is not just diversifying in the sense you hold stocks, bonds, crypto and physical assets but rather a few other considerations.

1. Do you hold a geographical mix (ie were the UK economy to be destroyed overnight would that be 10% or 90% of your portfolio)
2. Are you hedging your risk relative to your risk appetite (ie do you invest in US large cap, bonds and treasury and gold (safer) or do you invest in tech, startups and crypto (more risky))
3. What are your goals from your investments? Passive income or building a nest egg.

With that answered you may be able to, in turn, answer your own questions regarding the Stock Market vs Crypto. I think a sizeable allocation of Crypto within a risk-forward portfolio is perfectly acceptable.

This is very important, especially the geographical mix.

I live in a development country where we donīt have access to world misc ETFs or any other country ETF in our common stock market.
Cryptocurrency is the easiest way here to invest somewhere else.

Only with higher amounts of money we are able to invest in other countries. Even thou itīs not a common practice here, even among well instructed people =/
12931  Local / Brasil / Re: Como funciona a my ether wallet? on: February 28, 2018, 10:52:28 AM
Vou acrescentar mais uma pergunta: Qual é o valor das taxas para sacar moedas do ether wallet? As taxas são cobradas em ethereum? Caso sim, devo ter sempre um pouco de ethereum por lá se quiser movimentar, certo?

Sim. O pessoal chama essa taxa de gas.
12932  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: February 28, 2018, 10:47:28 AM
Question : What are bitcoin days destroyed?
No copy pasting!

Bitcoin days destroyed is another way to measure bitcoin trading volume, in a more significant way.

This idea was created because 1 bitcoin could be sent thousand times a day, to create a false high volume.

The idea behind Bitcoin days destroyed is to consider in the trading volume equation the number of days each bitcoin has not moved from that address.

So if you have 1 bitcoin that has not moved in the last 100 days, when it move to another address it would have the same weight in the volume as 100 bitcoin that were transferred yesterday.

This equation would give a more precise value for bitcoin volume and economic activity as it cannot be manipulated by whales.

I bought 369 ins during Ico! When they hit the exchanges I transferred them to okex l. Somehow I just now found out u have a airdrop( I am stupid I know)
If I transfer them bk to myetherwallet will I be part of the airdrop and is it worth it?

Yes, transfer as fast as possible. You will lose february airdrop, but if you hodl you will get one on march.
First airdrop was 0.87%.
This one will be higher, but i don't expect above 1.5%.

airdrop, free tokens, bonus, just stay away .... this is going to drop a lot more as these airdrops increase supply. Another bogus coin

No it's not.

INS is not airdroping coins for free.

Some tokens from the tokensale (that were reserved for bonus, there were no unsold coins) are going to be airdropped for ICO investors in a 6 month period, if you hold your coins in the same wallet for the whole month, if you move it for at least one day you are disqualified.

This is not increasing supply, or giving free money for anyone.

This is a good idea to prevent price dump, just that.

Hi bitmover where i can see a full details about the INS airdrop? And is this only for the investors whi have held INS in their wallet? Or do bounty participants are qualified too?

here.
Don't know about bounty...
But if you put bounty coins in a wallet that took part in the ICO, you will receive.

12937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did they actually enter MERIT ? on: February 27, 2018, 08:47:21 PM
Why did they actually introduce measures and what are its main functions?
Because spammers could create many many accounts and spam with them to gain higher ranks and activity.
With merit its impossible because you need quality posts not spam posts.
One problem with that is, people should reward quality posts which is not always the case because they don't know what merit is here or are just lazy.

I think merit is too scarce.
I want to merit many posts that really deserve it, but I have so few...

Most posts that deserve merit donīt get it. And sometimes a useless pots get 40, 30 merit just because is a friend of other legendary people...

Merit abuse is being monitored, and there's quite a bit of red paint splashing around.

In the mean time, if you have posts you think deserve merit, let us know, or bump them. Beware of bumping crap though.

What do you mean by bump? post a message to bring it to the top?

12940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best coin to mine on smartphone on: February 27, 2018, 07:57:29 PM
I have been thinking of mining with my phone for some times now,  I have gone through various online resources on how to mine with smartphone but the result were not satisfactory considering how hard it is to mine this days.  Please which coin can I easily mine with my phone.

Electroneum ETN is the only efficient smartphone mining that I know.

It donīt effective mine. While you have the app on, you will be airdrop coins to emulate a mining.

APP is on beta and will be open for everyone soon
