12961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a decentralized currency convinient? on: March 04, 2018, 03:52:29 PM
We all know that some people use btc for negative purposes (drug dealing, terrorism), so is bitcoin being a decentralized currency is really convinient? Why?

Dolar is used for negative purposes, like (drug dealing, terrorism). So is using a centralized currency really convenient? Why?

What is inconvenient are the criminals, not the coins.
12962  Economy / Economics / Re: Day trading vs swing trading! Which one is better for digital currencies? on: March 04, 2018, 03:50:13 PM
As we are in a strong bull market in the last years, and hodling is the best strategy in bull markets, hodling is the best and safer option.

If you want to trade, swing would be better than day trading, because the uptrend tend to continue for days/weeks.

It's very common that a trader sells when he gains 20%, but 5 days later the same asset is 800% up.

Like Ripple, that climbed from 0.20 to 3.00 in few days.

Is it better to day trader 0.20 to 0.25 or swing trade 0.20 to 3.00?
12963  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Merit Source (fonte de mérito) Brasuca on: March 04, 2018, 01:39:44 PM

Ir meritando posts bons, coisas do tipo.

Ele quer que a pessoa mostre que ela sabe meritar posts bons sacou.
12964  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Merit Source (fonte de mérito) Brasuca on: March 03, 2018, 08:36:50 PM

12965  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Merit Source (fonte de mérito) Brasuca on: March 03, 2018, 07:17:31 PM
Estamos precisando aqui.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2823944

Basicamente são três regras:
Quote
If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.

Traduzindo:

12966  Other / Meta / Re: MERIT SYSTEM PROBLEM on: March 03, 2018, 06:55:02 PM
Admins don't have time to read all the posts and give merit, impossible....

Theymos proposed the idea of some random people who are selected by admins and are merit sources. Merit sources are people with more merit who can merit high quality content, similar to what you propose.

Personally, i think Merit system is pretty good, but it's to damn scarce.
You can make a very good reply and get 0 merit, and when you get merited, just 1 merit...

We need hundreds of merits, so it's VERY HARD to make hundreds of good posts.

I will need to learn much more about blockchain to get more merit, because I noticed that technical posts receive more merits lol

But i was studying already, this is why i came here...
12967  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Stock Market Vs Crytocurrencies on: March 03, 2018, 06:03:09 PM
Stock market have a big risk, but in cryptocurrencies is low risk. Because cryptocurrenct not stable yet, so the value increase fast than the others.
For me I will invest in cryptocurrencies first for long term investment. After that, I choose stock market for short term investment and if money not a problem. I do invest in gold also, but the value very slow increase.

Please don't spread this misinformation, this is not correct.
Stockmarket have much lesser risk and are far more stable. Bitcoin can go to zero anytime, stockmarket won't.

Most cryptocurrencies are 70% down from ATH that was 1-2 months ago. People are having huge losses.
Tradition stockmarkets like SP500 are going 15-20% each year, in long term are performing very well.

You just need knowledge to invest in both markets. But cryptocurrencies are way more risky, no doubt that.

In crypto, only invest what you can lose. This is a rule here.

In Stockmarkets ETF people invest theirs life savings, and it's ok.
12968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did I lose my Bitcoin? on: March 03, 2018, 05:56:24 PM
Next time I suggest that you use your Legacy Address from Ledger Nano, you can have both wallets.

Check the balance here
https://blockchain.info/address/*****

Replace  **** for your address

THe best option is to recover funds in ledger nano or another wallet using the private keys, as AdolfinWolf said.
12969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology and bitcoin effects on developing countries? on: March 03, 2018, 05:47:40 PM
I was just curious to know how will adapting to blockchain technology and bitcoin effect  developing countries like India.

I think bitcoin is doing more for developing countries than for developed countries. Because people from developed countries already have a good and stable currency. We don't have one here.

In Latin America we have a big problem with inflation. Our governments think that printing money out of thin air is a good idea to fund social programs.

In 80s Brazil had about 1000% inflation per year.
Right now Venezuela has 4000%. http://money.cnn.com/2017/11/22/news/economy/venezuela-currency-crash/index.html
I have friends there who says it's about 10.000% a year.. anyway, that's much more than bitcoin gains, but as losses.

When a country has inflation like this, there is food shortage, basic personal hygiene items shortage (like toothbrushes, toilet paper).
Everyone just becomes poor. Money is worthless.

That's all basically because an irresponsible government is printing money at will at the benefit of few.

Bitcoin is already protecting people from the government in Venezuela. As electricity is very cheap there, common people are mining bitcoins for living. The ones who are doing this are not the poorest people there, they are like "middle class", but they would be miserable in US standards.

30 dollars is a huge amount of money there.

Anyway, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are helping people in undeveloped countries to be a little bit better. To have a little bit more liberty, and a bit more protected from irresponsible government decisions.

You may think Bitcoin has a big volatility, but Venezuelan Bolivar has much higher volatility (but it's just going down!!)

Try to imagine your life with 100% inflation per month. Well, we all know how is to live like this in Latin america.
12970  Local / Brasil / Re: Taxa para saque! Absurdo!!! on: March 03, 2018, 01:25:35 PM

Resumindo, custo Brasil
12971  Local / Brasil / Re: Como funciona a my ether wallet? on: March 03, 2018, 01:23:58 PM

12972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin a Bubble? on: March 03, 2018, 02:35:38 AM
Bitcoin survived many death attempts already.
It has grown wildly, bouncing back even stronger after each attempt.

It will not die.
12973  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which is the best wallet for iOS that supports SegWit? on: March 03, 2018, 02:24:35 AM
Android has a good wallet that supports segwit. Samourai Wallet.

If you have an old android tablet or something like that...
12974  Local / Brasil / Re: Taxa para saque! Absurdo!!! on: March 03, 2018, 12:35:07 AM
Tudo no Brasil é caro e ruim.

https://walltime.info/taxas.txt

Zero taxas de depositos.
Zero taxa retirada de Bitcoin

Retirada em Real 1.23%
Ordem 0.2% a 0.4%.

12975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is technical analysis vital? on: March 02, 2018, 11:24:22 PM
If you believe in the fundamentals, technical analysis would help you to find a better time to buy to maximize your gains.

But many people don't think it works.

Personally, I have had a few success trades. TA try to predicts human behavior statistically, not the future.
12976  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which is the best wallet for iOS that supports SegWit? on: March 02, 2018, 11:03:32 PM
Ledger Nano.

As you can pay for an iOS, i strongly recommend buying a safe hardware wallet for your coins.
This is the best wallet for iOS.

If you do not want the best, there are few options.
https://medium.com/@rogermagno/segwit-wallets-02-07-2018-76d836bccbc9

None of them are very good.... I would keep my coins in a more trusted legacy wallet like blockchain.info until buying a ledgernano.

12978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is smart contract for coins on: March 02, 2018, 10:25:59 AM
Smartcontract is just a contract that is programmed in the blockchain. I will try to explain in a simple way

When certain conditions are met, the contract pay each other accordingly.

Many TOkens sale (ICO) are managed by smartcontract. You deposit Eth on the contract address, and the contract deposit the coins automatically back to your address as soon as you pay.

DAICO are a evolution of ICO, where smartcontracts provide more safety to investors.
When you transfer fund to the DAICO smartcontract, they can only be withdrawn when conditions (like evolution of the roadmap) are met. If they are not, smartcontract automatically transfer your eth back to your wallet.

There is a great potential. Many times in a real life contract one part says " I know that I own you XXX thousand dolars. But i will not pay, but we can make a deal and i will pay half of it" . This situation can not happen in a smartcontract
12979  Other / Archival / Re: 💥🚀[ANN][ICO] INS ECOSYSTEM - Connecting Consumers and Grocery Manufacturers 🚀 on: March 02, 2018, 01:53:09 AM
I'm an original ICO participant, but I changed my wallet address when I got a ledger. How do I update you guys with the new address for airdrops?

You can't.
Just look back a few pages there is a link about the airdrop. You must move your coins back to that wallet to get the airdrop.
12980  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent on: March 02, 2018, 01:51:49 AM
I say begin rich is determined by your ability (intelligence) to learn how to identify and seize your opportunities.

I heard about bitcoin in 2010. I had the chance to buy, I was a few googles clicks away from getting rich.  We all were. But I wasn't intelligent enough to see it. Or to give it a try.

This is why in personal finances we must be exposed to a diversity of risks.
