12981  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Raw Bitcoin Address Data in ASCII text file comma separated value format on: March 03, 2019, 08:25:23 AM
@bill32767 If you need to check multiple bitcoin addresses to find their balance take a look at the balance checker that the user hexafraction created a few years ago. I don't know if it still works.

Here is the original post for it:

OK, I'll do those momentarily.

Done. JAR and source at https://github.com/hexafraction/btc-address-checker

If this program helps you then feel free to donate to the address under my profile info but do not feel obligated in any way to do so.

12983  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Guide] Virustotal scan guideline to detect viruses, trojans, malwares, worms on: March 02, 2019, 06:02:19 PM
Unfortunately Virustotal can only help you with already known threats and viruses by comparing the code to known threats. If you are unlucky and download a file that contains a fresh code with a virus then Virustotal will not be able to help you since it is the first time they see the code. The results can come back as clean while in fact you get infected and if you do a 2nd scan in a few days you see that some antivirus engines are already registering the file as a threat.

As part of your KYC you can request that the investor posts a selfie holding his ID. Obviously he has to look the same as the person on the picture of his ID.
From the ID you can see his name, compare that name with the name on the credit card he paid with and if they are different don't issue the tokens to that person until he offers you an explanation.
12985  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature request] Chat box in bitcointalk on: March 02, 2019, 05:07:15 PM
I don't like the idea of having a chat box. This was discussed in the past as well and I think i wrote about it back then. Most people mentioned we shouldn't have a chat because it will give scammers/spammers more possibilities to carry out their dirty work. I agree with that. Also, if we were to implement a chat it would mean less activity and less quality content being posted on the forum since it is easier to write and discuss things over the chat. I think that those who wouldn't be interested in reading it would miss some important information being shared.
12986  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: March 02, 2019, 08:52:01 AM
is this included in the category of plagiarism?
It is yes! Although it should be the other way around. StellarPay's post was posted at 05:54:05 AM and stellarpay.org copy/pasted the same reply at 05:56:10 AM. Even though they promote the same thing they are still two different users and one copy/pasted a post of the other.
12987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people but bigger bets in sports compared to other type of gambling? on: March 02, 2019, 08:42:14 AM
Because betting on sports is a combination of both your knowledge and expertise in that sport or the teams you pick + a bit of luck in order for the game to go your way. But casino games are mostly about which lucky bastard is at the right place at the right time when a machine starts spitting out winnings.

Cristiano Ronaldo did have a slight injury during the week and trained separately from the team but yesterday he took part in the full training round and is ready to play. It doesn't mean that he will but he is not injured. The official press conference is at 12:00 CET and after that there will be the last training session before the final fixture list comes out.
12989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how with 5G be with bitcoin? on: March 01, 2019, 10:20:06 PM
If it is true that 5G will be 100 times faster then 4G networks then we will benefit from that speed and the things we can accomplish with the speed in terms of downloading. It wouldn't take long to download and synchronise the entire blockchain if those speeds would be supported.
But I am not sure that it will benefit bitcoin in terms of better adoption just because it becomes so much faster.
12990  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Disscussion: Innovation(technology) that changed the world. on: March 01, 2019, 09:44:07 PM
It doesn't fit into the technology sphere but don't forget medicine. My grandmother is over 90 years old. Two of her brothers died as infants after getting a cold. There was no medicine, drugs or doctors nearby to help them. 90 years ago isn't that long if you think about it. We went from that to body part transplants and in 50 years or less those who can afford it will probably be able to grow there own body parts in a lab.

Quelle: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5106984.0

Hi Piggy,

suchmoon quoted one of my posts the other day in connection with a user who copy/pasted it and got banned here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.msg49950687#msg49950687
I found it by accident when viewing new posts in Meta.
I never received a notification in my thread for this quote, any idea why?

Is there anything Charlie Sheen is not addicted to?  Grin
Doesn't Tiger Woods also have a gambling problem? I remember hearing about that a long time ago...
12995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any on-chain sportsbetting websites alive? on: March 01, 2019, 09:54:35 AM
FortuneJack started its Sportsbook service a few weeks ago and you can bet on matches Live-In-Play. If you want take a look at the offer here: https://fortunejack.com/sportsbook#/live/overview
It reminds me of bet365.
12996  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slots Race with 0.5 BTC added to the prize pool - Would you be interested? on: March 01, 2019, 09:49:02 AM
0.03 as a minimum deposit is too high and I wouldn't be interested in that. 0.01 BTC is acceptable but it would depend on which casino that competition will be held at and the positive/negative history of the casino.
12997  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet sends your plain text seed phrase to Google on: March 01, 2019, 09:29:32 AM
So, I think it's time to switch to a new wallet and transfer all funds to better and secured wallet.
I have some coins in a Coinomi Android wallet as well. But I don't keep any Bitcoin there. The problem is that Coinomi was a good choice for storing alts up until this issue was made public. And the question is do some other brands use the same method for seed verification? I guess time will tell.
12998  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, proposals and rules. on: February 28, 2019, 10:38:31 AM
Proposal: 2
this is to invade the multi-account register bitcointalk member, and the same name, fraud. Etc.
People are allowed to have multiple accounts, it is not against forum rules. But you are not allowed to merit your alts, post fake trust ratings/reviews for your alts or be involved in other shady activities. So there is no reason to limit that since many trustworthy members here have alts.

Fraud and scams can happen from members of any rank, they are not only carried out by newly registered accounts. You have members of all ranks here that are red tagged for scams and illegal behaviour. Users also get hacked and if a trusted forum member with a long positive trading history gets his account hacked the members he trades with could be scammed.
12999  Other / Meta / Re: How forum members can help each other. on: February 28, 2019, 10:08:49 AM
I browse the B&H very often and offer my help where I can. My knowledge and expertise is nowhere near some of the users I see posting regularly both in B&H but also in the bitcoin related threads, but I do my best. If I don't know the answer I try to find some older threads from this forum or google in search for similar topics. As an online community I think we are doing fine.

I bet on Sports during the weekends and midweek if there are interesting matches. I seldom go to Casinos, at rare occasions with a friend who likes Poker. In those occasions I play Slots.
