An Airdrop is a free giveaway of premined coins. Which makes me wonder – did the term "airdrop" come to life to circumvent the "no giveaways" rule? Sort of like a faucet but much bigger amounts. The iceland airdrop was a bit of a failure because the people who received the coins sold them immediately and the coin didn't take off in Iceland as hoped.
