1301  Other / Off-topic / Re: The "Iced" Tea Party! Get a "far" moderate into office. on: May 26, 2013, 04:19:54 PM
I must disagree with the gun regulation bit. Background checks are far different from a gun registry. Gun registries open up a Pandora's box of potential government confiscation and widespread legal threats. Background checks are simply being prudent with gun sales.

Other than that, it is a solid summary, even if it is a pipe dream.  Wink

If I can collect 50 BTC for a candidate that person can officially run for president!
Anyone interested in donations (if you set up a domain it will be funded by donations).
1302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stratum Connection Interrupted on: May 26, 2013, 03:51:28 PM
Stratum connection to pool 0: interrupted

This keeps showing up on my cgminer, is that supposed to happen?

It literally means it disconnected as in the connection was interrupted.

Do I need to use a stratum proxy or something?
1303  Other / Off-topic / The "Iced" Tea Party! Get a "far" moderate into office. on: May 25, 2013, 09:01:30 PM
Hi, everyone!
I'm thinking about founding the "Iced" Tea Party, a Moderate Political Movement aimed at fixing the U.S.!
Anyone have an eye on becoming the president?

The plan:
-Universal Health Care and more education spending by making extreme tax increases on the 1% and cutting defense spending by 50%!
-Follow Canada's lead!
-Force everyone on welfare (who is fit) to do public works stuff, and pay them well for it.
-Replace the 2-party Democrat-Republican System with the 2-party Iced-Tea and Democrat system.  The GOP is really screwing the country up to this day. (if you're gop, please don't feel offended, I'm citing the Gun Background Check legislation and the NRA guys)
-Release life prisoners that are suitable to live in society once again. (the US incarcerates the most people in the world)
-Strong gun control
-Revised Electoral system (check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wC42HgLA4k.  You can win the election with only about 20% of the popular vote)

As Buddha said, "The Middle Way":
Not everyone can be on welfare, they should have to earn that money.
Guns should be strictly regulated
Universal health care and better education is a must
Too many people are being locked up
Killing someone for killing someone else is wrong.

Anyone interested?
Post below!  I've read up on the legal stuff and I can tell you how to get on the ballot!

also, usb stick or small hdd to run OS....and an OS

Yeah, I wrote USB stick but that would require the use of Linux.

So we use a live usb?

Yeah.  You can go the Linux route and use a live USB.  You got the cost of an 8GB USB.  With windows, you have to buy the OS (or pirate it) and buy a HDD for around $40.

So you can't get a Live Windows USB.
And the object is to get the least GPU-intesive OS?

1308  Bitcoin / Mining / Stratum Connection Interrupted on: May 24, 2013, 09:56:18 PM
My stratum connection to a pool keeps getting "interrupted" according to my cgminer.

What are the main components of a rig, how do I use them, and how do I make sure it doesn't explode or anything?
(I just graduated from being a n00b)
1310  Other / Beginners & Help / [Help!]Rig Components on: May 24, 2013, 09:53:14 PM
I'm thinking about building a rig.  I have a few questions, though.

MOBO/Motherboard/Mainboard
What does this do, and why is it necessary?  Does the type of motherboard you buy for your rig matter?  Can't you just buy a GPU and CPU card and be set?

RAM
The computer needs RAM to carry out the mining operations.  Higher RAM equals more Mining Capacity?

CPU
Should I just buy the cheapest CPU since miners don't use it?

GPU/FPGA
Which is better, and why?  What is the cost difference?

How do I power, cool, and use the rig?

Thanks!

1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Open Source BTC Lottery... Anyone know where I can find one? on: May 24, 2013, 08:07:22 PM
Does anyone know a place where I can find a BTC lottery software?
(input address, get an entry, etc.)  Smiley Thanks!

Wouldn't you rather play a true game of skill? What about a game of skill + a lottery?
I may prepare something along these lines if people are interested.

hi,
what skillz do you have bro? php, python, js, ruby...what do you have in mind? i have a fair amount of info regarding "provably fair" concept...we could have a better talk about the server side, since seems the others can handle the css....or perhaps are you thinking to go all by yourself? let me know...

I can do graphics, HTML, and CSS and I might be able to get a host and domain.
1313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Buckets - A Strategic Bitcoin Betting Game! Win multiple times! on: May 24, 2013, 02:24:43 AM
I'm making improvements to the interface. Check it out! Also, there's a rather large "jackpot" for the red bucket, right now.

How did you get your vanity addy?

woahh bro, that would be fucking amazing, something with strategy in the mix. I'm up to contribute, if it is a open source project, like a public domain license, for the sake of humanity, crypto currency and our future. I can help with javascript (jquey + node.js), html5 and css3. (i also do design if that is the case). Cheesy

I'll help too!
I know HTML and CSS so I can help!
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple a Scam? on: May 23, 2013, 07:14:41 PM
Ripple is a scam. But is a good investment. It is a scam because it has not open sourced, And allows IOU's and that allows you to easily get scammed.

IOU's? how?

1319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to find Wallet Address on: May 22, 2013, 11:15:56 PM
Okay, I see.

Where do I find the wallet.dat file? And how is my wallet secure after backing it up? If the wallet.dat is on my computer 24/7 to run Bitcoin, then if my wallet.dat gets hacked, what good will a wallet.dat do?

A quick google search will help you find your wallet.dat.  Have fun with bitcoin!
