So according to bitcoinorama 2 weeks ago there where only 1000 left to ship? But since the updates there has already been 1085  sent out, and Monday back to 400 a day? Am I the only one that feels like I have been lied to?

No mate...and I can confirm that it's not just a feeling. Working weekends ...back monday? Those two don't gel

Fact is that they haven't got a fucking clue and are running around late like headless chickens pumping out all manner of shoddy goods which wil arrive when it gets there by a means you didn't pay for.

The numbers don't add up. To a 5 year old.

I expect a miserable excuse about everyone drowning in sweat in their boxer shorts all week soon...but the fact is that piss poor planning leads to THIS.

My rig looks like being in process in that "factory" all weekend while there's no-one there. That in itself is a feat. Wouldn't you at least finish all work in progress, and pop in Saturday morning for them to be picked up?
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 05:26:08 PM
The numbers we've had this week don't come close to adding up, nor does the batches in progress stuff unless batch one is "machines shipped" and batch 2 is "machines not yet produced" .

Maybe a Chinese takeaway got in the mix?
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 05:02:17 PM
My miner is stuck in Ohio as well.
I was told it would be delivered today any time from 13:30-16:30.
I live in California... It's 09:30 already..

Not happening today.
You can thank all the people complaining about UPS for that.... what a shame
There simply is no faster service...
all 3 saturns ...   each one took less than 48 hours to Hawaii

People didn't complain as much about UPS as about the shoddy packaging. Packed well it wouldn't matter much who they used as far as damage is concerned.
1304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 04:51:23 PM
I'm annoyed that I paid for next day delivery which won't be close and was a premium, that my rig has been "in progress" for 3 fucking days...apparently the batches all go to that status together which would mean given 300 produced Wed and 450 yesterday ..batches of about 800? Also, there were 1000 left to produce on Tuesday roughly, minus that 750 and whatever they produced today (400?) ...they should all be finished.

I don't believe a word they say.
How did you pay for "Next day" delivery?

On the KnC site UPS zone 3 next day delivery is the only other option even now apart from hosting or pickup. So there's another con 120 dollars for it.

How long was it running for? A few minutes may not be enough to see it get hashing properly...assuming nothing wrong of course.
1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 09:24:31 AM
As this is a bit of a fuck-up and no one has mentioned it here yet, I'm going to xpost it:
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/8377-it-should-be-removed-before-the-cooler-is-installed-this-is-a-instalation-quality-check-failure

Hopefully it was a limited incident, but worth adding to your "before powering up for the first time" checklist.

More than one too. Thx for the warning. Smiley

Mark day 2 for "In Process"

How can that be if they are working in batches? Surely day 2 should all be done and shipped now?
Your day 2 and my mid July in the same batch? Both in process? Pfft.
1309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 12:09:28 AM
Do you guys think the difficulty is going to keep on increasing at 50% increments? If not, then what percent increments do you think?

Don't think anyone has a clue really. I think these last few days will turn out to have been expensive.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 10:08:53 PM
Wow, does DHL draw a vacuum.  They won't deliver to a US Post Office.  If I want to pick it up at a DHL office they only offer Atlanta, and I'm halfway between Atlanta and Columbus and a good deal west.  So, that's out.  I gave them my home address but my property is always gates closed and my home is 2½ acres distant from the drive gate.  If I leave the gate open, a neighbor's dog kills my chickens.  These are free ranging chickens and don't get cooped up all day unless I have to spend the night away.  I asked for a time to expect delivery and was told anytime between 8AM and 8PM.  I'd say call my cell but my cell doesn't get any reception here.  If the weather's nice I'll be out in the yard and won't hear the home phone.  Had a problem with DHL once before.  They tried to deliver a radio.  It had arrived at the Columbus office.  Found a note saying they had been here 3 times and were returning it.  They lied.  Driver just didn't want to make the trip again.  No fence in those days.  No excuse, just lazy, lying DHL driver back then.

If the US waged WWII the way we operate today, we'd have lost.

You were a couple of years late anyway, DHL would have only been a day or two Wink

I've posted about the restart/flushwork thing since... 9th October? Asking for it to be addressed.

How about some answers to these questions:
1. How come the sub-standard cgminer from KNC?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=18313.msg3294238#msg3294238
This post suggests the KNC version is not doing a proper work restart. Any reason KNC are spending 9 days releasing firmware updates that doesn't even fix these issues? I'm fairly sure the guys who wrote cgminer could sort this quick fast.

So I guess it could now read:

Any reason KNC are spending 17 days releasing firmware updates that doesn't even fix these issues?
Pride's a bitch, aint't it? They should swallow that damned pride,  hook up ckolvias, and let him sort it properly.

+100

So much nicer with a regular news update isn't it?
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 01:21:57 PM
SO. "In progress" is a hard thing to explain I guess.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 12:59:50 PM
However they did promise to manually remove it from the production line and now my status says "Full Refund Pending".

Avenger you are a nasty piece of work with an overt agenda, and zero knowledge of production. Once you send a customer order file to an automated production line, it's hard to alter queue positioning without causing a headache upstream at the point of assembly and delivery. The idea is this meant to be as efficient and streamlined as possible.

I think I am due an apology soon. And everyone who was told they could not get a refund because it was impossible.

P.S. And the "daily" production update. If KNC wait about 4 more hours, then it is the end of work day in Sweden and they will be updating us on 2 days of production - today and yesterday. That redines "daily" for me.

For what? That was the reason. They've just spent several days switching the order flow over to DHL's system. That's evident by the fact people are now receiving shipments via DHL, who seem to be late on sending tracking IDs. KnC have had contractors on site here and at the manufacturing facility the entire time liaising with both UPS and DHL. They listened to what was being said, and worked on creating a solution. Not all refunds can be issued mind, it depends on how far along the queue they have progressed and whether they can be manually be removed from the system at a late stage. A guy rang yesterday and dithered, he was told to give an answer promptly, and he procrastinated, so his order had progressed beyond the point of refund. If you want a refund the opportunity may, or may not be there dependent on where you are positioned along the assembly line.

Do you want a refund Avenger? I mean you are clearly disgruntled. I mean why put yourself through this unless you enjoy tormenting yourself *if* you are an unhappy customer?

Just one question, doesn't make sense to me. So ask and maybe there's an answer?

What exactly does "in progress" mean?

I ask because I can't see how a rig can be in process for days, or so many of them?
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 12:48:01 PM
Seems to me that the best way is to buy a rig off ebay, mine a few weeks, get your money back via Paypal, rinse and repeat.

Hope no-one's actually going to do that. Some very odd activity on there recently, why would you bid hundreds of pounds more for the same rig when there's one with a BIN way less than you're bidding for example? Do people simply lose their minds when mining BTC is concerned?
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 09:11:43 AM
theres a couple of Jupiters  on ebay for 14K....  Shocked

Maybe, but what happens when one of them burns or has other problems? Either by user error or whatever.
Could be a nightmare. lol

1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 08:42:59 AM
it would be nice if bitcoin went over 200 again or i could sell my equipment on ebay for 10k or so

You could mine a few days, whack it on Ebay with a reserve (and avoid paypal to avoid problems..maybe local pickup as it's big and fragile?) while the auction runs...it sells OK you make break even, it doesn't not much of a downside Smiley

We missed the days when mining made people rich by some margin...any other frame of mind will hurt.
I always knew this, and accepted the risk of KnC turning out to be another company talking hot air but based on the reports 1st hand and other research it was a decent set of hole cards to play. The fact that they made the deadline and then fucked up the simple stuff is massively disappointing, as are the lies about "in progress" ..no fucking way they have a rig "in progress" for 3 days when they say they are completing 350 a day.

Live and learn, save what you can, make sure no-one else stand in the same dog turd unawares....that's all we can do. Smiley

On an important sidenote, how helpful has Pheonix been on this thread? Amazing. Smiley
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 16, 2013, 09:26:19 PM
No of course, it's my prediction, based on my reasoning.

Your "reasoning" is clouded by being a knc-fanboi. The hashrate is not going to "level out" for quite some time.

Think about it. This shipment has been the most disruptive major volume of hashrate unleashed upon the network in a short period of time. You're seeing the effect of that. KnC aren't shipping for another month. Who else is going to have such a marked effect in that time? When they do ship on the following occasion it's unlikely to be equal to what's shipping now, and even if it was it wouldn't have the effect the current outlay will, because the current shipment will already be part of the total network hashrate at that point. They will not be shipping anything like what they are shipping now PLUS what already existed. Therefore the increase will not be as proportional and be more incremental. What you are seeing now will be the largest single increase - proportionately - for a given finite period.

Does that include Chinese orders too ? Or is that a separate order book from the Chinese site?

Mine now says: Order #6xxx In progress (Payed)

We shall see for how long.
We've gone through 4xxx to 6xxx in one day? Damn those Swede's work hard.

It's all lies. A rig in progress would be easily finished in hours and shipped at least next day. That's not happening for many. Once in progress, no refund.
Looks better too...in some other universe.

 1 euro plus postage Wink

That is the quickest loss of money on mining gear I ever saw. Bidding over 6k on a rig just as the difficulty rockets making it very unlikely ever to break even. They must not have checked.
