1301  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: August 05, 2014, 01:15:23 PM
I don't get it. Some people are predicting that bitcoin may go up more than any investment in the history of the world. Seriously?

Yes, as it already has. Stop looking at bitcoin as a commodity. It isn't. For the first time in the history of the world people have the opportunity to own part of a technology. Not the rights to a technology, but a share of the technology itself. Think of the price of bitcoin in terms of technology adoption.

Yes, one could compare it to owning a piece of the internet. If the internet increases in size, so would the worth of your piece.
1302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: creating an exchange site on: August 05, 2014, 01:13:18 PM
I've already learned php and html though..I'm thinking maybe there is an existing script for such then all i might just do is edit few lines to it.

Great way to start an exchange. What could possibly go wrong? Good thing that exchanges have no big target on their back and do not need any security experts workign with them!

Why would anyone want to destroy the integrity of the very system?
1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 05, 2014, 01:08:22 PM
Hmmmm, been hearing on twitter that the promotional Stellars are not showing up anymore, anyone know what the deal is with that? This whole stellar thing seems to have a lot of bugs or no information about basic things.

Just be patient, there is a waiting list..

thats nuts yo
why arent you hero member by now?
Because I haven't been here for long enough (which has nothing to do with logged in time).

There is a guy, that has logged over 300 days and is still only junior member: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=136325
See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats
That is because he hasn't posted enough.

Yeah I just wanted to make the point, that logged in time doesn't mean shit.
1307  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you could move to any country, which would you choose? on: August 05, 2014, 12:37:21 PM
hungary because girls are too pretty  Embarrassed

If you want pretty hungary girls, you also should move to austria, because all the pretty ones come here to either get a husband, a model career or become a prostitute Wink
1308  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitVc - A New Trading Platform From Huobi on: August 05, 2014, 12:36:33 PM
any more expiriences on that one?

Some experience with lending BTC:

you don't really get paid for the first day, if you deposit you get your first payment ~48 hours after and then every 24hours. Also the interest is very low (but still higher than bitfinex!). Withdrawing from the lending system is instantly, but again you forfeit 1 day of interest.

I like the bitfinex way much more.

What is the current interest rate for BTC and LTC?
Thanks

0,1% for borrowing.....for lending I coudn't find the rate on site, just a Chinese text

it was about 0.018%.

The way it works is:

They pool the deposits that are meant for lending. The borrowers pay the 0.1% and then those 0.1% are split to all borrowers. In this case only about 20% of all funds are used for trading.

they should have an english text expaining this....the whole page seams to be beta to me

yeah, it looks like they used google translate...

Also the chinese are a wierd folk: They don't use our common digit notation, but use "w" aka 10000. So their rate is notated in 1.8 BTC/w pr 1.8BTC/10000 BTC.

Well, you get used to if you need to Wink

i would much rather wait for things to be done right than have it released asap to develop later. most coins go that way and not many survive.
if this is done right it could be a huge success.
patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait.

i must admit i do agree with some people saying you should hire help, it would make your life easier and speed things up but its your choice.

Do you remember eMunie?

Most don't for a reason Wink

1316  Economy / Economics / Re: Easiest way to make BTC? on: August 05, 2014, 12:06:09 PM
Faucets and signature is the easiest!!

How exactly are faucets the easiest?

Working at macdonalds and then using the income to buy BTC is better than that...
1317  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100 days on Bitcointalk on: August 05, 2014, 12:00:26 PM

1320  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many Bitcoins needed to retire in 5-6 years? on: August 05, 2014, 11:57:54 AM
Assume average North American, requiring $30,000 per year of today's purchasing power, no other debt.
This is by no means average. $30k is well under the average income that most people in the US have.
The median per capita income in the US ist actually $28k. (source: http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html). That includes children, though. On the other hand you can substract opportunity costs of having a job, like commuting and business clothing etc. So $30k should be quite fine.

Older people need more health care, is that included in those calculations?
