The currency website www.nextcoin.org and NXT echange platform DGEX.com are both hosted by the same company that appears have produced the currency.
That's Graviton Capital Inc.
By checking the WHOIS info on these websites the admin of both is goldtails@gmail.com

By googling that emailadress I discovered other websites that are adminned by this guy:

http://www.ipaddressden.com/email/goldtails@gmail.com.html

http://www.webboar.com/whois-email/goldtails@gmail.com

These are domainnames of gambling websites that look like scams.
The one that caught my eye the most is: www.ponzigame.com
PONZI GAME...

Above all that: in the terms of DGEX.com NXT exchange website it says that all BTC tranfered in to your DGEX account will become property of DGEX.com
So if DGEX.com decides to take all the BTC and close the website there is nothing you can do about it.

Yes, because someone actually running a Ponzi scheme would CERTAINLY be advertising the fact in de domain name  Roll Eyes

I know, I know, but salsacz was kind enough and told him already in two other threads - otherwise my lips would have been sealed  Grin

Ok Smiley
I'm sure FC will find another way to play his main role  Grin

Don't worry, his kind always does Smiley

Anyone have an explanation for this 170 million NXT account?

http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=10105875265190846103

I am just wondering what it was originally for?

Is it public who owns this account?

It's a secret account, we r not allowed to talk about it.

That seems like a problem?  Why is there a secret account with almost 20% of the money supply in it?

This person has been working very diligently on a campaign to spread misinformation.

His common tactic is to use the "where smoke is, is fire' tactic by using old data that looks suspicious, but incomplete, giving a skewed image.

However, he always fails to provide up to date or complete data.

Everyone is welcome to question the data. Please keep asking if something seems amiss. A lot of members have been trying to keep up with the campaign, so we have a lot of rebuttals ready already. Smiley

1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: Nxt Reimagined - Imagine Fairness! on: January 24, 2014, 01:00:49 AM
It just occurred to me, that FC is being unfair (I'm kidding, I knew this all along) in that he is not distributing coins fairly. In fact, even if he gets 1000 "humans", this only represents 0.0000143% of the people in the world. That sounds pretty damned unfair to me, so I come with a suggestion: Increase the total coins to ~7 billion and give 1 NEX coin to everyone in the world. Introducing a new concept called PoB (Proof of Birth), 1 NEX coin will be generated for each baby born and given to them upon exiting their mother. Now that's fair!

 And people who died?

Should i join a forging pool? at my current amount i won't ever get anything lol

Hi, there will be advanced options where you can lend your Nxt to a forging pool without the Nxt ever having to leave your account.  At this point, don't send your Nxt to any account claiming to be a pool.

damn that actually sounds amazing.. does anyone know what the founders typically get per day forging?

Probably around 10-100 Nxt max

I've been playing a game: "Try to make a sentence using all words that would either make the bitcoin thread people throw a fit or just slam their heads into their keyboards in frustration"

So far I have:

"Maybe we need a vote about the fees that should go towards an academic white paper about an open source full feature client"

I'm sure something better could be made.  Smiley

Let's not forget about this folks!

Anyone able to help NiftyNikel out? This is a pretty critical opportunity for the public perception of Nxt. I think it's highly worth a developer taking a break for a day or two... or someone who is generally knowledgeable about Nxt. Maybe even just to identify key topics and write out some point-form notes for Nifty.

In the interest of expediency, I think writing out some key aspects would be the most attainable.
It's only one day away.

Let's focus on what we can get done asap instead of pouring energy in getting someone to go and having no one at the end.

Thís can be done more easily and will also help.

I never heard of you.

nxtion.com update

I updated a few aspects. Smiley

You don't have to send 5 NXT anymore for confirmation. You can confirm your account with a token now! Also you don't have to type in your password for the login. You do this with the token as well!

If you want to send a shout you can do it now automated with a form or by hand. I included a guide in your control panel of how to add a shout by hand.

There are still a few problems with the blockchain scanner. I included the script on the frontpage, so that everytime someone visits the front page, the blockchain scanner will scan for a new block. I hope this will help to keep it up to date.

If it makes problems again please write me an email.

Please consider: The blockchain always lag behind for 1 block! So you have to wait for 2 new blocks after each shout. After the blockchain scanner scanned the 2. new block it will appear on the site.

Also there are currently a few bugs. You have to reload the page after you edited your profile. I will fix it soon.

If you still have problems you can find an introduction video on the front page now! Smiley

I like how you constantly keep working to make your services as accessible as possible. Smiley

1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NXT] Thread Wherein Large Stakeholders Foster Confidence by Outlining a Plan on: January 23, 2014, 10:26:22 PM
Better make new self moderated.
Btw, how would we identify stake holders?

any idea how. I tried and it wouldn't let me delete or move this one.

Abandon it and let it die and just start a new one is probably the only choice.

Change the title to "RIP: you were young, but fatally flawed"

I just want to say a big thank you to everybody who is involved in this great project and puts their valueable time in this (especially the core developers) so the rest of us can have one awesome crypto currency to rule them all!
I've been kind of silently following the progress of Nxt since January 9th and already I'm VERY excited about the coming months! Needless to say I could hit myself for missing out on the IPO!
Now I'm thinking about converting all of my BTC into NXT. On the one hand this would be very high risk, on the other hand I could miss out on skyrocketing prices in the next couple of months. Don't know what to do  Huh

 Grin

Convert what you feel comfortable with.
Don't bet everything on one horse, even if that horse looks to be a dead cert.
Do risk management.

You are still early enough to make a big gain once Nxt takes off. People who get in at 1 Nxt = 0.001 BTC will already envy you, so don't worry Smiley

Just to let everyone here know: someone on nextcoin.org asked me to open a discussion topic per day for the summaries.
I will be trying this out on nextcoin.org and nxtcrypto, which means people on the forums will be more in touch (hopefully) with what is happening in here.

It might be interesting to check the topics out from time to time to see what other parts of the community are thinking.

First topics are here and here

But FAQ wiki still not. I think I can do this (at least part of them, as they are so many) tonight.

I warn you: just when you think you have finished, you will reload the page and notice joefox has just added a new part to the FAQ.
Happened to me at least two times.  Grin

Just had a brain flash.

Instead of taking a tech person to the conference, just print out this thread, bind it and keep referring to it by thumbing it's pages.

When asked questions, just stare for a while at the person, put your hand on the pile of print and in a hollow voice intone: "it's in the book"

1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 23, 2014, 06:01:03 PM
asking again, can someone help me change my name on this forum?

thanks

are you the hacker that stole the Nxt so you want to change you name? Tongue just joking

i think you can't change it

If this works like any other forum I've been on, you need an admin to help you. (admin, not mod!)

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up that the very small post with a picture of the cubietruck is still getting attention on Twitter and Reddit.

It's being retweeted and I have at least 165 unique hits from reddit, even though they don't post comments on reddit. Also more than 1000 uniques in total.

Apparently these very short, visual reminders that Nxt is different (and therefore interesting!) sometimes work better than long articles.

I am going to try this out on my blog the coming week to test that assumption.

I could use pics that I can put a small, amusing text to about a facet of Nxt. Can be anything. If you see anything, please let me know.

Also, keep up twitter and reddit. Even though people don't give reactions, that doesn't mean they aren't interested. It just means they don't react.
