1301  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit disabling account and confiscating balance of $410 on: June 29, 2023, 11:46:07 PM
One thing we must know is that, these things happens. It’s either you have a supper support system that works like bots or one that just tries to do their best but, it ain’t enough to customer’s satisfaction. From the conversation uploaded above, I think you @OP kept things simple and the support representative is working in accordance with there terms as well.
As much as you might and I filled should know what terms you might have bridged, the gambling site isn’t trying to revile its particulate offense to avoid gamblers deriving means for  any pass.

Even at that, I still fill it would be a lot more better to know and accept your offense.
Again, confiscating reserves is always a part of this sort of punishment.

I see Rollbit to be a reputable gambling platform on the forum and like Logfiles have rightly directed, you could as well seek help from there forum representative Rollbit Razer and you might be good.
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: June 29, 2023, 11:29:44 PM

Maybe you misunderstand my post. What I meant to say is that there is almost no chance for a person playing his first fantasy season to do well in it. It wasn't a comment about my rank, I ended as runner up but this was my 7th season I think. Fantasy is a game where you simply have to learn some stuff on your own skin before becoming good at it. Any given week is mostly pure luck, but that evens up over the season and good decisions will always come on top. When I say top, I mean top 500K finish every season almost guaranteed.

2022/23    274,909    2,471
2021/22    118,554    2,492
2020/21    738,837    2,227
2019/20    454,377    2,167
2018/19    24,427    2,346
2017/18    31,224    2,270
2016/17    254,249    2,095

I know I will play Fantasy Pool even if we don't have sponsors. My favorite pool by far this season Smiley
Well I would say you followed up just right except that, it was far from anything rank as possible. It’s the FPL and that’s not forum related although, we pooled from the forum to play and it was fun and offered some disappointments as well due to inexperience on how yo handle the transfers, manage the chips and the double game weeks as well.

Still, you’re right when you say, you need to learn some skill from your skin. Would be interesting to see what I learned from this season. Was just checking in on my profile but, met some bumps and halt.
Would revisits soon in preparation for a time with you guys. We go again next season.
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9.5 million flagged bitcoins on: June 29, 2023, 11:11:32 PM
Un rank AKA Jay said, it’s a news from 10years ago but then, am interested in this comment;

is it safe to buy bitcoins from these 9.5million btc (maybe from 9.5million flagged btc)

If these "flags" had any real meaning, what would happen with coins seized by the US government? They would have to destroy it and never sell it.
What happens when you buy these coins from the government, because many people bought seized coins on auctions?
Can bitcoin be really destroyed? I don’t think it possible except you mean loosing the private key to its wallet as that would be the equivalent of not having it been transferred or used by any means.
So in what context were you implying this?

Still, you have a commodity in the market and not the blackmarket or its likes but this is the US government putting out some seized coins for reuse by selling it to willing buyers. There isn’t anything wrong in that. It’s just business and should you care about your privacy, you can take steps to mix coins before retrieving it to a safe wallet.
1304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins and it's potential on: June 29, 2023, 10:44:21 PM
With my view as at the time of writing , I think bitcoins will go long way to reduce poverty if they allow it achieve it's purpose.  Reducing poverty in my context is not about profit but the peer to peer transaction mechanism. The idea of centralized exchange is very much in place because a lot of people are yet to accept bitcoins but once it become accepted by majority, I think there will definitely be no reason to convert to fiat.
Bitcoin doesn’t make people rich my friend. At the time, most of us have been able to make some money off it because of its volatile nature, serving as an asset and in turns, increase your hodlings when it pumps just as it reduces it when it dumps. The idea that accepting it for a means of exchange and reducing poverty doesn’t go very much as, it’ll be serving as a currency.

For all we know, serving as an asset could be a some worth passive idea that could die away with the times as the price progresses. When that happens, we could just have it as a store of wealth and it serves its currency purpose.
Hence, you don’t get to own what you don’t already have.
1305  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you get motor, you go pay 1k for proof of Ownership from July on: June 29, 2023, 10:15:34 PM
But in Nigeria anyone can own as many car as possible but still pay no tax on it. Am not justifying this case but I am pointing out some of the obvious reality we enjoy.
No be lie you talk my brother, as e be na ‘‘em you yarn so and I believe say na part of watin bin dey worry us. We dey live for level way we never reach. E sweet shah o but, e follow contribute to our backwardness. We don dey live on borrowed funds in the name of subsidy on a lot of commodities since but, since Tinubu commit this thing, holdup no plenty for road again. People no too dey drive again.

If we government start to dey collect taxe per property owned, we citizens go dey arch ourselves and take precaution before we buy property.

Watin I notice with this government be say, them dey try generate watin them go spend and to get better allocations for the sectors.

With that for mind, this 1k taxe as annual proof of ownership on car owners no bad. E go help generate funds and the money small cef but, as na new thing, them taking it small no be bad idea. E go help kwa dey reduce car theft if them follow up well and have retrievable satay base way them fit dey use check these things at check points.
1306  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoins, religious leaders and the government on: June 28, 2023, 09:55:36 PM

The fight of the government against bitcoins in most cases is due to proper comprehension of the mechanism of the system. It become difficult for them to accept.
At a time I felt it was that but omo, no be so o. I git agree with you say, the old men way and women way dey lead us no really sabi but, behind these old men and women, them get people way dey give them advice, people way dey do their research for them, dey present to them the good, bad and ugly way dey for the systems and one thing way go dey of much concern to them be say, them go lose some of there power to control the finance of the people.
On this note, bitcoin no be watin them go like give chance. E cast!
1307  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: June 28, 2023, 09:45:01 PM
Cryptocurrencies are a very risky type of investment because price fluctuations are very high, a decrease or increase in prices can reach 2 digit percent so that we have to understand the risks that can occur, many people get stressed because of losses and sell assets to invest in cryptocurrencies.
That is why various preparations are needed before entering crypto,
one of them is risk management which sometimes people ignore,
What is clear is that cryptocurrency is an investment full of risks, so we have to be careful.
Tell me an investment or any project out there that comes without risk and I’ll make you a rich man or lady.
There isn’t any risk free investment option out there. Anywhere you could hope to make a penny, there always would be a huge risk underlying every corner.
Risk is price definitive and being able to manage it good would mean the difference between you having to benefit from that risk or having it take you of all you’ve got.

Risk management isn’t is a necessity. One who can’t access situations before jumping in or making proper preparations for what could go wrong, would be the most affected when the waves come.
1308  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: June 28, 2023, 09:25:33 PM
Yes, I think paper money is going to be phased out at some point globally. In some countries, like Sweden most transactions are digital already now and paper money is quite rare. On the other hand, in countries like Germany or the US cash is still king, there still are many places where cards are not accepted.

It's a good thing cash is around, especially when we want financial privacy. Once all of the world's countries switch to a CBDC, you can say goodbye to anonymity for good. By the time that happens, our only option would be a decentralized cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. That's if we still want financial freedom.
I think the question here is,
Can we ever be free or attain financial freedom?
Let’s think about that critically.

There would always be those that won’t be cool with decentralized systems or systems that aren’t backed up by some organization, agency or some thing of that nature. Not to mention the government that won’t be ready to let loose their product in fiat currency and it’s controlling power. It’s just not something that would come about.

Fiat helps either way we look at it. At least, the blind gets to use them and it needs no confirmation time for physical exchange.
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late for newbies? on: June 28, 2023, 08:59:09 PM
Hello guys,
I'm happy to be part of this community, and so far I've realized that everyone is more experienced than me, so I don't know how logical it is to ask this question, but I'll ask it anyway.

Is it the right time to invest in Bitcoin?

All my friends are talking about cryptocurrencies, but I still can't wrap my head around it.
You don’t have to be a newbie or some professional to buy and hodl bitcoin. You only have to be willing, have the resources and be familiar with how to work a wallet as well as what exchanges is or how to use them.

This is where it becomes important for you to study about what you want to invest your money in as, it’s not always joyful. There could be loses and that’s on you and your ignorance when it happens. Like every other skill or field out there, sort out for the knowledge first.

It’s never too late to invest in bitcoin. You can DCA and be good about that.
1310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To Earn or to Talk, what is Your Role here on Bitcointalk? on: June 28, 2023, 08:47:33 PM
I was shocked by his reply,  he said that here on Bitcointalk that there are two sets of people as the name implies, some people are here to continually do the talking, while some others are here earning Bitcoin. he said that he gave up on his account when he noticed that after spending several months trying to create good post he only got just 10 merits and this discouraged him and made him stop using Bitcointalk. as he said this I laughed out my ass. I didn't know what to tell him at that point, but then I showed him my profile. he was surprised and asked me how I managed to earn that much merit in few months.again I smiled and told him that it wasn't just the merit that drove me, but my ambition to learn and earn from Bitcoin talk. before we departed, he  told me that he was going to login into his old account and see if he can earn some merits.
From what you’ve stated here, I could find a third category. The category that you seem to belong to, the one that talks and earn just that, your earnings at the time is more about merits as you see it or maybe your friend sees it.

What I would say regarding these is,
Your efforts gets rewarded when you put it in genuinely. Going fully out in search of merits, you might find some but, it wouldn’t help you very much. You could be a spammer, get them temporal bans and eventually a permanent ban, you wouldn’t get to know even what is been presented before you countless times.

You just have to give some effort to being real and improving yourself.
1311  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: June 27, 2023, 10:49:05 PM
Let's look at the problem from the other side. Is it good to have billionaires in the country? Having billionaires helps the country progress faster, because the state budget cannot afford various projects. But a billionaire can. Of course, a lot depends on the personality of the billionaire, but there is no such thing as everyone being bad.
The problem isn’t about the billionaires, it’s about the rest of the masses and their demand for a standard of living that they can hardly afford. That’s the problem! You ain’t a billionaire and somehow, you try to emulate there lifestyle with the luxurious stuff and not just that, even as common as food, you seek imported stuff rather than locally made and then, the cost is something out of your reach but you find a way to get it anyway.
That’s the real problem. People ought to realize when they are going above their heads and learn to hold back.
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What steps should I take to succeed here? on: June 27, 2023, 10:42:08 PM
Don’t know if I’ve said this to anyone before but, when you say succeed here, you seem to be limiting yourself to the forum from my interpretation but, the whole idea of here is so that, you could better yourself in the real life.

If you could be better in real life, your physical reflection would be observed on the forum but that means, bitcoin has got to be your thing or should I say, cryptocurrency.
You’ve got to take your engagement with the system to a whole new level and actually comprehend what’s presented to you and not just shove it aside each time you seem to hit a brick wall.

Always try to understand.
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Knowledgeable before Bitcoin investment is very Good on: June 27, 2023, 10:37:25 PM
I came across a post made on this forum by someone that says he has $20k for investment as such he was looking for people to advice him on how to go about it, for me it was actually a bad idea consorting everyone for investment advice because you could be lured by scammers to invest on a shitcoin as such loosing all your money because of lack of knowledge about Bitcoin or any investment in general, as someone that has no idea on investment I think the first thing was research google to learn more and also the risk involves.
I wouldn’t say it’s entirely right to just throw it all out and ask everyone, besides you’re not going to take everyone else’s advice but just the few that sounds appealing to you.
Still, on a forum such as this, laying it all out could ne your closest means yo safety as well as posing some challenges to your funds.
The good part is, you get other on the forum to aid you in the scrutiny and critics on what advice your been given and you would as well see users having you watch out for scammers in disguise.

What you would be mindful of is the pms. That’s where you can find some real jerks trying to use your ignorance against you.
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks offering investing in Bitcoin on: June 27, 2023, 10:32:10 PM
Maybe I'm overthinking this, but when banks are involved with Bitcoin it always seems like an attempt of gaining some sort of control over it or push it to be more centralized in some way. And seeing more and more of them getting involved doesn't really comfort me.

What do you guys think, should banks even be in 'the game'?
I would never trust a centralized system when it comes to have obvious relations with a decentralized system. The design for bitcoin or other decentralized crypto assets not to have some obvious connection with centralized systems. The most these centralized systems can work for the decentralized assets is serving for a gateway or some form of exchange. Other than that, it would be difficult for users looking out for means to stay off the hook of centralized system getting to trade their crypto assets using banks.

It could have an end to it. In the long run, statements could be released in accounts involved in crypto related transactions and so will the penalty be dished out as well.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 27, 2023, 06:37:47 PM
When you buy Bitcoin hen the price is 100k$ then how much will you sell it back to make profit because at that time the price of Bitcoin might not exceed 100k$ and if the price didn't not exceed that amount you will become a loser in the business so how does the vendors do at that time?
Or you buy at that time and thinking that it will go up to 200k$ but ironically, the price come below 100k$. What will be you faith/fate. Many companies stopped function last year because they accumulated a lot of Bitcoin when the price was high and they were thinking that the price would go up for them to sell them off and make their profit from there but instead the price of Bitcoin drastically come down very well. So the companies  enter bankruptcy and folded. So exchange are trying to avoid such mistakes, so that they can run a long journey.

Will the price pass 100k$ next year 2024 for buys to make their gain?
It’s good we aren’t there yet but we would get to $100k per BTC and trust me, the price isn’t going to end at that and i can’t speculate on what price that would be good enough for a limited commodity like we have in bitcoin. Even more rear than endangered animal species as these animals could have a chance of being reproduced but that ain’t the case for bitcoin (forgive me having to draw that analogy as they don’t really match but, we get the point at least).

If you can conceive the idea that bitcoin won’t see its last price at $100k, then there are a whole lot of others to buy. The world is big enough for it.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 26, 2023, 11:39:08 PM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?
I guess you have already answered a big part of your own question which is the age of the casino in question,
The user has obviously done that and then, a large part of it went to a “supposedly” statement which has everything being unreal about it and that could translate to mean, not happening.

Casinos do go bankrupt and out of business but, it takes more than one big win to bring about such fall. There has got yo be under underlying but being managed issues, ranging from scammers, those that exploit vulnerabilities in the system setup, bonus hunters and loosing of customers to complaints. It’s always not a very patronized idea to not deal properly with customers especially, on there wins.

Nobody that plays first Fantasy season will ever win it but we won't tell them that  Cool

Well this is a fact confirmed and Im having alot of problem playing this first time. I thought I had good composition for the week already then somehow I forgot about the other factors in game such as managers potentially resting players for UCL and such but well its a good first time playing fantasy and I kinda enjoy it to some extend

The thing that I hate the most would be when I picked Haaland as my captain then he ended up not scoring anything  Roll Eyes
When Trofo is talking about Winning it, I suppose the runner ups doesn’t count because, that too could be winning a share in the pool price and some of us came quite close. I guess the in experience and negligence got the better of me. You know, having all these chips and not knowing when to use them or how to use them but again, you guys were great and taught hard lessons in a very disturbing way as this was a competition none the less.

Come next season, I hope to be a lot more competition, see most of the old participants as much as new participants. Let’s see how far we’ve come.
1318  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: June 23, 2023, 10:30:23 AM
Taking out a loan or incurring debt can become a problematic behavior if it becomes compulsive and interferes with an individual's ability to manage their finances responsibly. This behavior is commonly referred to as debt addiction or credit addiction. Debt addiction can manifest including constantly taking out new loans to pay off existing debts, using credit cards to make purchases that cannot be afforded, and feeling a sense of euphoria or relief when taking out a loan or incurring debt. Like any addiction debt addiction can have negative consequences on an individual's life. It can lead to financial instability, damage credit scores and cause stress and anxiety. Individuals with debt addiction may struggle to meet their basic needs, such as paying for housing and food.
Nicely and coherently written.

What most of these debt addicted individuals fail for realize is that, the profit on these loans are actually what could have servers or helped by some means in the course of their financial stability.

You end up spending a future money on current issues. What happens when the future hits you with what it’s got? You end up taking more loans and incurring more debts with profits on them.

It’s a sad way to live.
1319  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: June 23, 2023, 10:24:47 AM
Quote

do you all agree that with the emergence of fast transportation now, the economic turnover is also getting faster, this is based on the fact that any delivery will be distributed quickly, automatically it will make the price of living necessities and kind remains stable as long as it can be distributed quickly!
There are channels and means to development in a place and having to get to your desired customers in a timely manner is key.

Some factors that leads to the development of a place is access. Where isn’t accessible, it means you’re going to ispend a lot on cost to transport your goods to and fro and you would as well have to fill in the gap by increasing cost price. This in turn hinders patronage as the product won’t be readily accessible by the masses that would have been in need of such product.

Transportation is highly important in the channel of distribution of a product. Then you can talk about securities and the availability of raw materials for production.
1320  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War and conflict on earth will never end on: June 22, 2023, 07:02:49 PM
A question arises in all of us that the world will ever be able to escape war and conflict?
Anger or violence is a part of human nature. Though for some, it might have been locked down below but, just like we have in volcanoes, there is a tendency of an eruption some day.
The fact that, we could get angry at some occurrences or happenings in our lives simply means that, we could raise arms against one another or nation against nation some day.
We could only hope to avoid but, it’s just something that happens.
