The money used to buy Ferran came from a bank loan. You may not like it but it's a hard financial decision they have to make for the future of the club. Only time will tell if that will pay off or not.
The decision to get a good player is justified in my opinion but increasing the wage volume shouldn't be accepted too. They have to get ride of some useless players for real and bring young and useful ones to guarantee the future of the club. Other than that, it is a suicide.
If the transfer took place, then Barcelona knows how it will be able to compensate for this acquisition and this does not contradict the principles of financial fair play. Also, do not forget that in addition to the transfer of Torres, Barcelona is trying to seriously apply for the purchase of Haaland. In any case, we are talking about borrowed funds, which will then need to be returned, despite all sorts of preferential loan terms and Barcelona will have to earn these funds. And in order to earn these funds, Barcelona must overcome its problems and start winning titles again as before. Another question is that it's scary to imagine what will happen if it doesn't work out.

A big upset with Leceister City injury ravaged squad defeating a full strength Liverpool squad in a very embrassing defeat, thus gradually dashing their EPL title hope consequently allowing Man City to extend their lead by six points could reach even reach nine points tomorrow if they defeat Brentford to add more trouble for Liverpool title aspiration, the trio of their keys players Mane, M.salah and Keita are leaving the club to represent their respective countries in African Nation Cup billed to commence next January 2022.
Yes, the absence of these players can be a big loss for Liverpool and seriously complicate the fight for the Premier League title. Every time in the middle of winter, the African Cup is held, every time the players of the clubs go to play for their national teams and every time it is a complete surprise for the head coaches of the clubs Grin By the way, Liverpool did not score for the first time this season, and Mohamed Salah did not score a penalty in the Premier League for the first time since 2017. It seems that Jurgen Klopp paid off with Mrs. Fortune with a defeat in the Premier League for an incredible win against the same Leicester in the English League Cup Wink

Paul Pogba Is out of contract and has no intention of extending, but have yet to receive a formal bid from another club. What's up with Pogba? He used to look like a happy guy at United, but now he's one of the few players causing problems for the club - could it be the lack of trophies in the last five years, or a lack of progress at the club?
Pogba is a showman who always wants to be a part of a winning team, which hasn't happened in the last several years. The only way to keep him at the club right now, in my opinion, is for the club to win the champions league or the league this season, which is unlikely but not impossible.
Has Paul Pogba already terminated his contract, or is he still a club player until the summer, but simply does not want to renew his contract? Wink In my opinion, the club's management and fans are already starting to get tired of this epic and just want to clarify this issue, thanks to which it will be possible to build their transfer policy now. By the way, it raises serious questions when a club has to make certain efforts in winning titles so that a football player deigns to put his signature in the contract, and the football player himself does not have to put any effort into it. There is a kind of substitution of concepts and Pogba is not a football player of such a level to talk about such a thing.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 27, 2021, 11:50:46 PM
If you remove PSG, then it turns out that France is inferior to Portugal and maybe the Netherlands Wink (there is no desire to check the calculations and clarify this point, but Portugal will definitely be ahead if PSG are removed). And the distance to the top 4 is quite long (even with PSG), so I think it's fair to say that the French league is weak.
But still Paris Saint Germain continues to stay in the league and continues to represent France internationally Wink In some ways, I agree with you and the total dominance of one club in the championship can lead to sad consequences when other clubs, instead of reaching for the level of the leader, on the contrary, lose their level, thereby lowering the level of the championship itself. In theory, on the contrary, an option should work in which the other clubs should reach for the leader's level, but so far this is not happening. On the other hand, if you call a weak championship, which occupies the fifth place in the coefficient table, then what do you call those championships that are outside the top ten?
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 27, 2021, 11:41:49 PM
this is the important point.
We don't always have to blame the decisions of those who just let Ronaldo go because it's certain that they also have considerations about it.
Their performance was poor not only because Ronaldo moved and it was because of other reasons such as their players who were injured quite a lot and their strategy wasn't quite right at the start of the league.
but with the league running only half of the season I feel for the champions league they can still get it
With the departure of Ronaldo, Juventus lost a player who played the role of a tip and could decide the outcome of the match by his actions, and a more collective game, which the players and fans of the club began to talk about, does not yet bring the desired result. With all due respect to Juventus, the club still could not provide the level of composition and style of play that could fully use Ronaldo's strongest qualities. The main mistake of the Juventus management was that the club did not renew the contract with the player, and Ronaldo at his age needs certainty for several years where his career will continue. Therefore, the player left for Manchester United too quickly, and the club could not have time to prepare for this.
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: December 27, 2021, 11:31:25 PM
Pep Guardiola deserves it at Manchester City. They have really gone that far, and couldn't clinch it. They should be winners at the end of the Champions League this term if they successfully surpass the semi finals
To be honest, I would also really like to see Guardiola winning the Champions League title also before he leaves his current job at the team. Because he said something about leaving in the near future. Manchester City are one of the most deserving teams when it comes to this title. Their closest moment to the title was in the last season but Chelsea somehow got the title. Maybe this is their turn.
City will pass Sporting but they have fierce opponents. I think if Bayern, Inter and Liverpool will be eliminated before facing City then Guardiola might lift the trophy with the team finally this year. I don't see the others as a real threat to City right now.
Manchester City looks like a very serious candidate to win the Champions League this season, but the cup system has its own peculiarities and any strongest favorite can play an unsuccessful individual match and end up in the tournament. Pep Guardiola is a great master in the systematic construction of teams that achieve results over a long distance, but even such a master does not always manage to do it in cup competitions, which is the Champions League. This was demonstrated by the example in the final with Chelsea, when the club could not take the decisive step and win a particular individual match. On the other hand, it gives hope that this will happen to the club in the end. Another question is whether the coach will survive until this moment, knowing that Guardiola does not like to work in one place for a long time and wants to take on new challenges.

Dortmund are just helpless about their title chance in this season. Because they started messing things up for themselves unfortunately. Maybe it is still early to talk about but I remember that Leipzig kept up with Bayern Munich for a much longer time for the title in the last season. But Dortmund seem like they have given up very early as the gap has increased to nine points.
Leipzig was a real threat for Bayern last season, they even passed in front of them before dropping performance and letting Bayern win the title. The changes that happened in the transfer window made them destabilised. When it comes to Dortmund they suffered a little when Haaland was injured then they return to fluctuate as usual letting also Bayern to dominate the league. With rumours saying that Haaland could leave the club next season I wonder how they will keep up with the competitions they have until they found another star.
I hoped that Leipzig would be able to impose the fight on Bayern again this season, but with the departure of Julian Nygelsman, the results have declined and the club cannot find that game and show results like last season, which led to the resignation of the club's head coach. It seemed to me and it seems to me that Leipzig has more prospects in building a team that can compete with Bayern in the Bundesliga in the future, given the system policy pursued by the owners of the club and what infrastructure is being built to achieve this. Let's hope that the arrival of Tedesco as the head coach of Leipzig will improve the results, although things are not going very well in this direction so far.

What a poor performance by Manchester United players! I had big hopes about them for this match honestly. Because the most obvious thing was that Newcastle would struggle against them a lot. But after the match started, they started making people astonished also. Because they were doing their job in a great way that is not letting Manchester United have so many goal chances. Newcastle were even close to get a win if their absolute goal chance in the last minutes wasn't prevented by the goal post. This is definitely not the Manchester United that I want to see on the remaining weeks of the league.
A very unexpected result, because you could have expected any result, but that Manchester United could not score one goal more than Newcastle and did not win the match, probably few people expected this except for Newcastle fans. A big role in this result was played by the goal of the home team player Allan Saint-Maximin at the very beginning of the game. After that, there will surely be renewed talk about the crisis at Manchester United, which is far from being overcome even by the arrival of a new interim head coach. By the way, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe said he was disappointed with the outcome of the match and that they deserved to win. Also, Howe does not understand how de Gea was able to save MU after Miguel Almiron's strike.

Much eyes on Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez, failing to realize he just came in and ain't no magician. Take a good look at Athletico Madrid who should be dominating the La liga, they have failed woefully, game's after game's. They should try to keep up else Barcelona will come ahead of them in a short time. They must have lost drive.
Barcelona was in a terrible state before tht arrival of Xavi. And he is just trying his possible best to put Barca back on track. But, what people don't understand is that this will take some time. Atletico Madrid performance are poor, they lost all their last 4 matches, and one of the problem Atletico seems to have is are defense. However, If Barcelona play their next matches without losing, they will surely take over Atletico Madrid's place.
Indeed,Xavi is really doing a great job at Barcelona, bringing these young players together and trying his possible best to make them live up to expectation from their fans.
I so much trust the process,I believe in Xavi that he is taking Barcelona to a greater heights,to their former tiki-taka pattern of football.
I think that with such a good squad, Atletico Madrid should not continue to lose at such a pace and continue its terrible streak, so it's not a fact that Barcelona will get ahead of Atletico. Atletico Madrid was not so hopeless in its lost matches, so it has clear prospects for improving its results and improving its tournament positions. Xavi Hernandez still has a lot of work to do to build the team's game and therefore it is unlikely that the results will be stable. A lot depends on the transfer company, because betting on young players is dangerous because of the inconstancy of the level of the game being shown. The club needs a fusion of the wisdom of experience and the enthusiasm of youth to improve its tournament positions.

One of the things I'm curious about is whether Chelsea would become the winner of the Champions League two times in a row. But it doesn't seem to me like a big possibility. Even in the last season, it was surprising for most people to see Chelsea winning the Champions League title. Because teams like PSG, Manchester City etc. were performing much bigger than them. But they had a very great discipline that they still were the champions at the end.
I didn't even think it was possible for Chelsea to become champions last year, but they did. They are really very disciplined. I'm not giving the same odds this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they become champions again. Currently in the premier league. It's really difficult for Chelsea to become champions this year. PSG and Manchester city will really push all opponents.
Actually, Paris Saint-Germain himself should win against Real Madrid and I would not call Paris Saint-Germain the undisputed favorite of this pair Wink Of course, it will be very difficult for Chelsea to repeat their success and win the Champions League again, because in addition to the above pair, there are still such clubs as Bayern, Liverpool, Manchester City, which look at least no worse and even better in some ways, and both English clubs are ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League. If Manchester City is ahead of Chelsea in points scored, then Liverpool is ahead in lost points. However, the current rival of Chelsea, which is Lille, is not so popular and here it is Chelsea who comes out as a clear favorite to reach the next round.
1311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 26, 2021, 11:50:12 PM
As usual, Bayern Munich always dominates the Bundesliga every season. This season they have collected 43 points from 17 matches, with 14 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats and 9 points adrift of Borussia Dortmund. It's a bit boring to see the Bundesliga competition every season for the title. So far, no team has been able to offset the dominance of Munich in the top competition of the German League.
Totally agree, Bayern Munich is just too superior for this league and as this stand there is no real competition for them besides borussia Dortmond. And the worst part is that every time the win the become financial power to buy any player of their league which leaves others uncompetitive after a sell.
totally agree, only dortmund can match the greatness of bayern in the bundesliga. and the worst news i've seen is that dortmund is going to let haaland go, and that's a bad decision for dortmund imo. if this haaland sale happens, hopefully dortmund find a replacement and make them still able to compete with bayern.
It's just that, unfortunately, Borussia, with its financial capabilities, it is very difficult to keep such a high-class player as Haaland, and only a very successful and incredible combination of circumstances should happen for Haaland to stay at the club. Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the potential buyers at the moment, but so far Manchester City looks like the most serious contender for the player, but the club wants to wait a bit and see how much it will need to pay for the player in the end, because I don't believe that it will be only about 75 million euros. The Bayern president has already stated that the club is not interested in acquiring Haaland, because the club has Lewandowski, who will remain at the same level for several more years.

City to rival Barca in Haaland race Manchester City have emerged as Barcelona's chief rival for the signature of Erling Haaland, reports Sport.
Barcelona is in a bad financial situation, they have no capacity to compete with Man City or Real Madrid to sign Haaland. Man City should have a bigger chance to sign Haaland, but depends on their priority. I mean Man City still prioritizes signing Harry Kane, Haaland probably becomes an alternative only. If they succeed brings Harry Kane, I assume they may be no longer interested to sign Haaland. Guardiola isn't a typical coach who needs many CF in the squad, so I guess he wants to add 1 CF only to City squad.
On the contrary, there was information that due to the failure with the transfer of Kane, Manchester City will now throw all their efforts at buying Haaland. Barcelona has entered this race and, with its attempts to buy a player, is trying to do everything so that Haaland does not end up in the Real Madrid squad. Because the Catalan leadership is clearly not happy about the prospect of getting an opponent with Mbappe and Haaland in the same team. However, La Liga President Javier Tebas has already told Barcelona President Laporta a couple of recommendations about the transfer, given that Barcelona will have to cover losses of about 500 million euros, which will be very difficult.

Finally chelsea made it back to winning after two games even when the first half was equal between them and aston villa they managed to take control of the situation on the second half and they won 3 1 but unfortunatly man city team won and they are still in the lead with six points away.
Chelsea really need to win today's match to continue to put pressure on Man City who is the league leader for now with six points separating them, a draw or loss against Aston Villa would have dash their hope of EPL title thus would have allow City to extend their points to 9, a good game by Chelsea thanks to Lukaku who is back in the team and deserve to win, while Villa missed the services of Gerrald who is on isolation, his presence at the sidelines would have made some impact in the match.
Thanks to this victory, Chelsea not only kept the current gap from Manchester City, but also equaled Liverpool on points so far. We can say that only Chelsea scored in this match, including scoring an own goal and two penalties. If a team wants to count on something more, then they need to win their matches against rivals like Aston Villa, because draws or losses do not allow them to take part in the championship race. However, Tuchel was very unhappy after the match that the league forces the team's players to play after the coronavirus and one or two training sessions. Manchester City has picked up a very good pace and has not yet allowed its results to doubt its leadership.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: December 26, 2021, 11:22:09 PM
Barcelona should get Edison Cavani as the replacement for Kun Aguero. Aubameyang is a good option, but has lost his touch, has good pace which could be very vital against defense.
Xavi will get the team in a good shape, I am certain Barcelona will be in the first four soon. An upgrade in the defense would do.
When I know Barcelona maybe finish is when barcelona are now looking for almost finished player to come into their team, I think it is just the beginning of Barcelona downfall if it continues like this, and we may be looking at another Arsenal like story, I have never thought Barcelona problem was from the coach staff but the have a big problem amongst the board if they can let Messi go because of laliga rules, that they can sacrifice many other players then this Barcelona is head for a bigger crash.
For your quick remindal that Barcelona is financially down. Edison Cavani is no weak player also. I hope the deal goes through, he'll adapt and builde relationship organically amongst others.
As for Cavani's move to Barcelona, it is already so clear. After the transfer of Fernando Torres from Manchester City, the Barcelona management has already thought about the feasibility of transferring Cavani. The striker is awaiting a final response from the club and would like to stay in Europe, despite the fact that the club wants to reduce wages compared to what he receives at Manchester United. But recently an offer was received from Corinthians, who is ready to pay the same amount as the Uruguayan receives in the MU. Also, do not forget that Barcelona must sign Fernando Torres, who arrived for a medical examination.

Napoli's performance continues to decline compared to the beginning of the season, this is a positive thing for Juventus. Actually I don't agree that only Napoli's defense is to blame. If you look at the data this season, Napoli is a team that has conceded a few goals compared to some other big teams. Even Napoli conceded only 14 goals until the 19th round, while Juventus had conceded 17 goals and even Inter conceded 15 goals.
Maybe Napoli's performance is bad because they have difficulty scoring goals, so Napoli's front line also needs to be improved. Juventus must be very motivated to beat Napoli and avenge the defeat in the previous meeting at the start of the season, Juventus vs Napoli match will be very interesting to watch. Both teams definitely want to win, even though Napoli have been very poor in form in the last 5 matches. But still Napoli
cannot be underestimated, because Napoli managed to beat AC Milan when playing away, meaning that there is a possibility that Napoli can beat Juventus again if Juventus are not careful and play disciplined. I predict the game will end in a draw, because that's a possible result, because Juventus also haven't been doing so well this season.
The meeting should be interesting, because there is a lot at stake and if Juventus wins, they will be only two points behind Napoli. Accordingly, the victory of Napoli will allow you to break away from Juventus by 8 points. Although I will not be surprised at the draw result of the match, which will leave the current state of things, because there may be a situation that players will be afraid of excessive risk, knowing what the unpleasant consequences of this will be. Also, a lot depends on who scores the first goal, because then the match can slide into the scenario of Milan versus Napoli, when Napoli scored a quick goal and then played the whole match. Juventus also knows how to do well.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: December 24, 2021, 11:59:09 PM
To win La Liga may be difficult for Barcelona this season, but to get into the Champions League zone, I don't think it is difficult for them. Because only 18 matches they have played, there are still 20 games left.
There are still many remaining matches, surely the chance for Barcelona to get UCL tiket is very open. In theory, they still can compete for the top 3 on the La Liga standings. However, it depends on how good the progress or improvement of Barcelona performance in the next matches. If they can improve their performance and win the remaining matches, the opportunity can be high. But if they are still difficult to show their best performance, and even defeated by small clubs, they may miss the UCL competition in the next season.
In any case, Barcelona should fight at least for getting into the Champions League, because apart from the sporting moment, the financial component plays a big role here. Barcelona is experiencing huge financial problems and not falling into the Champions League will further aggravate the situation. The club has already lost quite a lot financially due to non-withdrawal from the group stage and even winning the Europa League will not be able to cover these losses, and these finances have already been incorporated into the plan to overcome the crisis. Therefore, Barcelona has something to fight for this season, even if the chances of a championship look minimal.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 24, 2021, 11:51:39 PM
Is it true that Paul Pogba will never be sold by Manchester United because Ralf Rangnick still needs him as a reliable midfielder, so that means there is still a contract agreement later to extend him by a few seasons.
Some time ago rumors said he would leave because of the uncertainty so I want to know where Pogba will stay.
The contract extension has been offered since the last summer and so far Pogba refused to sign it. If he has no intention to sign it then I dont think he will in the future so if his contract expires then he will be able to leave the club for free and I bet there will be alot of top club willing to take him in. Its safe to say that he is probably already having some clubs in his mind right now but anyway the team doesnt really need him though
He has been injured for quite some time and the team is doing quite decent even without him
It seems that there was information that Rangnik himself had already accepted Pogba's departure from the team and even believes that the player is not worthy of extending his contract with the club because of his attitude to the recovery process after injury. However, this has not been officially stated and I fully admit that other representatives of the club's management are trying to negotiate an extension of the contract with the player. Another question is that Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, who seem to be applying for the player, clearly want Pogba to come to them as a free agent, so this epic with an extension will continue for more Grin
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: December 24, 2021, 11:40:20 PM
I read an article about managers meeting with the Premier League to discuss the next step with all these games being postponed. I think Klopp was credited with that, let us see what they some up with trying to finds solutions to the COVID-19 situation.
I'm conflicted about this, I don't want to see the season cancelled or even postponed anymore than the next fan, but it might be the right decision considering the amount of games that are getting postponed anyway. Could potentially cause some unfair match ups. I'd like to see just extending the season, fix the congestion issue in January, and then put players into "bubbles" as they did before. Then, set a rule if there's more than x amount of covid positives, then the game is postponed as a last resort. Managers should probably be expected to give their players some sort of punishment for breaching Covid rules too. I'm also obviously getting prepared to watch the rest of the season from TV without any fans, since that's probably the common sense thing to do.
I am no longer surprised by anything and the situation is changing with catastrophic speed. In any case, if the number of infected players exceeds a certain limit, then the matches will have to be postponed for another period. Another question is that the calendar is not rubber and not only Jurgen Klopp expresses his dissatisfaction, but Josep Guardiola is already calling for a strike to draw attention to the busy schedule. Therefore, concerns about the health of players in case of coronavirus and postponement of matches lead to an even greater load and high injury rate. The season, of course, will be finished in any case, if necessary and in the absence of spectators, but the dissatisfaction of clubs with a busy schedule is constantly growing.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 24, 2021, 11:32:17 PM
]I'm not sure the French league or Ligue 1 is a weak league, because if the teams in Ligue 1 were weak teams then we'll get where Messi is now easy to score. But the fact is the opposite and Messi admits Ligue 1 teams are strong teams with high power gameplay, the teams in Ligue 1 are still strong teams and strong leagues too. There will always be strong teams and weak teams in every league, so I can't assume that this is a weak league although indeed, if we talk about Ligue 1 at least it's only about one PSG team. But the reality is not so, because the proof is that PSG itself is still difficult to get points even though the opponent they are facing is a team that is in the relegation zone.
If PSG has a worthy rival in Ligue 1, as it was not so long ago with Monaco, then PSG simply buys the top players of the team (for example Mbappe) and the team ceases to be their competitor in the fight for the championship. Ligue 1 is a good league and cannot be called weak, at least teams like Lyon and Monaco show decent results in Eurocups, and this is a very solid indicator. PSG is a toy in the hands of the rich, so it's hard to compare them with other clubs Ligue 1.
The example of Paris Saint-Germain is a separate topic and it should not be extrapolated to the entire championship. Also, it is not necessary to talk about the strength of the league solely by the nature of PSG's games with outsiders. There are quite objective indicators, like the UEFA coefficient table, and France occupies quite high positions there. To be more precise, France ranks fifth in this table. Another question is that the financial resources of the other French clubs are not comparable to PSG and the club is out of their number, which allows you to have some advantage in recruiting a priori, but the class of the league itself is quite high.

Man city and Liverpool are both good, they had good matches during the middle of the season so predicting the result of the EFL might be difficult to predict. But I think Man city should have won, they will play at home. Even against Leeds they won 7-0 then against Newcastle they won 4-0. Warning to Leicester they have to play better than time against Liverpool. Of course Man City will not underestimate Leicester they have made Liverpool difficult win in the EFL.
Definitely, I personally will bet for Man City for the next game against Leicester. I am sure that both will play their best and will not underestimate each other. Moreover Man City will always maintain its top standing and they also have played very well in every match. 4-0 against Newcastle also can be one of the good support and reason why they must at lest maintain their performance.
But I agree with you, Leicester is also a strong club and even now they are in the 9th standings, they sometimes can play really well in some matches.
Unfortunately, Leicester still does not look like the team we saw last year and the results also do not correspond to this yet. The club has not been particularly successful in recent matches and it is not worth much to single out a major victory over Newcastle from this series, because Newcastle is suffering a form disaster at this moment in time and is just trying to live up to the winter transfer window, when it will try to seriously strengthen with the money of the Saudi sheikhs. Based on this, of course, the advantage is on the side of Josep Guardiola's wards, especially since Manchester City will play their match at home. Of course, I would not discount Leicester and consider it a serious and strong club, but still City shows a much stronger and more solid game.
