1301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 24, 2023, 09:21:52 PM
What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?
For me, I don't like gamblers who can't admit their mistakes and often come up with various excuses, not taking responsibility for their actions. I believe it's a bad habit that doesn't help them improve. On the other hand, being overly confident isn't a good attitude when engaging in gambling, in my opinion. It's important to strike a balance and have a clear understanding of one's strengths and weaknesses.
Even on a normal level of reasoning people still avoid/deny responsibility not to talk of one who's a gambling addict he will wanna use gambling as an excuse to avoid  accepting or been responsible with issues of life.

Quote
There are others that are addicted to gambling and never socialize with other people they are just focused on their gambling activities but there are also other gamblers that keep bugging you asking for money or other things which is very annoying and for sure all of us don't like it.
I've noticed that many addicted gamblers tend to pester and borrow money from their family or friends to some extent. It's better to firmly refuse such requests and not engage in explanations. Lending them money only pushes them further into debt and addiction. I consider this to be one of the worst behaviors frequently encountered among gamblers.
Some people are casually shy and introvert as their nature they therefore use gambling as a distraction to  occupy themselves and stay away from associating with people all of the time so they don't discover how much of an introvert they are. They even pretend to be too serious focus on their gambling while in the midst of other gamblers.

When a gambler start pestering and disturbing friends and relative about lending him money to fund his gambling lifestyle, it should be known that such a gambler has really soaking deep into addiction and can do or sell almost anything their eyes perch on to get money. I consider them to be very dangerous gamblers.

It was a fair result for the Arsenal vs Tottenham game yet some guy lost 4 Bitcoin because of his bet for Arsenal,I followed his bet and I lost a 40 dollar amount  Grin and I wonder why do people find that huge amount of money to throw at a single bet and where do they find the courage to believe so much in a specific team like Arsenal in this case, scary to say the least for me.

Chelsea is a total disaster during this season and if they continue with such results I am afraid we will see them in the Championship next season,Liverpool is showing great performance again and finally Brighton won against Bournemouth after being humiliated in the midweek losing at home in Conference League.
A long time ago I heard a rule that you cannot bet on derbies, because these are the most difficult and unpredictable matches. Moreover, betting such a large amount against Tottenham is not a very smart move, they started the season well and I agree, draw in this match is a fair result.

Chelsea managed to win only one game against a Premier League newcomer, and it is not surprising that they are at the bottom of the standings, and was it really worth expecting that the team would start winning just because Pochettino became the coach, if so many main team players left the team, I think this is a completely expected situation for Chelsea.
I totally blame Mikel Artheta for this draw in a match Arsenal ought to have stolen a 3point from Tottenham. Arsenal were lucky to escape the game with a point in the end after the substitute that brought in jorginho and Kai Harvertz who couldn't withstand the pressure of the game from Spurs.

Artheta always makes the mistake of experimentation of players in big games which is very bad , same experimentations cost him the EPL title to Manchester City previous season.

Chelsea had to go through another terrible humiliating weekend again which in my opinion I see a Chelsea team that is gradually transiting to relegation with their constant poor performance.
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 24, 2023, 02:25:37 PM
Arsenal was ahead by 1 goal but Tottenham just scored a goal and the match is now a draw. When we look at the strengths of the two teams, Arsenal is better at the moment, and I think they have a high chance of winning the match.
The first half is almost over, we still have 45 minutes left and I think Arsenal will return to the field much stronger after the conversations within the team during the halftime. Both teams have a chance, but I think Arsenal will win this match Smiley
The two teams are playing very well, looking almost equal in power. Arsenal are good with the ball and have been able to press more to create chances. They had good chances to be leading with three goals, one from Nketiah where he would have passed to the other Arsenal player, but decided to shoot himself, it was saved by the Tottenham keeper. The other chance was from Jesus when he collected the ball from Maddison and had a clear one on one shot with the keeper but missed. I hope Arsenal will not regret it.
Arsenal were very unlucky with those two chances in the first half else they would have been ahead of Tottenham in the first half. But both teams has been so physical and clinical with the game which we all expected being a derby game.
What I don't understand is the rationale behind  behind Artheta's decision to substitute Rice and Vierra at ones bringing in jorginho and Harvertz. The substitution has affected the Arsenal midfield badly and it's going to cost Artheta the match he was supposed to win.

Thinking of reporting them, but I first need opinions just to be sure.
I take myself for instance.
Initially when I started in the forum having no reliable knowledge about crypto that I could contribute to crypto discussions I quickly realized my limitation only going to the other boards that were on discussions about crypto just to read threads and seldom made comments.

While almost all my posts and comments were mainly in P&S I made sure to keep content quality in mind until I had to eventually move to other boards as my crypto knowledge broadening.

The picture am trying to paint is that most newbies the P&S board is usually their take off point in the forum and as they go using there to stay active it isn't surprising having a breed of low quality and off topic posts emanating there. I think reporting such posts to moderators when seen would be a nice thing to do to retaining quality somehow.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 23, 2023, 02:51:08 PM
The Xabi Alonso project is a quality and phenomenal for Bayer Leverkusen this season and I am considering them to be a threat to Munich this season for the Bundesliga title.

In today's game Leverkusen are going to clinch the three points playing at home against Heidenhain cause it's obvious they can't withstand Leverkusen form at the moment.

Can Heidenhain stop the Bayer Leverkusen  Victor Boniface from scoring a goal(s) in today's game? A forward good at positioning in terms of getting those goals, he doesn't just stay in box and his opponent don't feel his presence. Having scored 6 goals and 3 assist for Leverkusen this season I see no reason why he won't be having a goal today against their weak opponent Heidenhain.
The presence of several newcomers such as Victor Okoh Boniface has made their front line sharper. Plus, Granit Xhaka's role has been no less significant since he joined Bayer Leverkusen.
This team performed very solidly in its 4 matches, even though one of the matches only produced minor results. Naturally, their opponents at that time were Bayern Munich. Moreover, the match was held at the Allianz Arena. At least, for now we can say that Leverkusen is a threat to Bayern. although I don't want to speculate too far, how consistently they play their matches. plus, how good a second line player they have. That's why, I always consider various aspects.
Yeah suitable second liners that's something Leverkusen don't have which is the sad aspect in their team's form which can breakdown their pace in the Bundesliga title race should these first liners Victor Boniface and Granite X. go on injury their consistency definitely be affected. However at this very point they ain't doing bad and are taking advantage of their form to gather every points in each game and that's what currently matters.
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 23, 2023, 01:46:39 PM
Bayer Leverkusen are performing much better this season as they had already beaten RB Leipzig and forced a draw against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga league. With their current form, I think Bayer Leverkusen should be able to score a victory against Heidenheim with the home advantage.
It is true that if you look at the presentation of Laverkusen chances of almost reaching 80%, it can be said that Xabi Alonso squad will win and regain the top of the standings from VfB Stuttgart. Competition at the top of the Bundesliga standings is getting tighter, and the standings are getting more formed as we enter the fifth week. Bayern Munchen should be careful this season with the addition of Laverkusen as a dark horse, otherwise their dominance will definitely be broken.

The promising 4-0 win in the Europa League against Hacken is very good as a source of confidence, the winning trend will continue I think. Playing at home will be a plus for Laverkusen, Heidenhiem needs great luck to win this match.

Onana is good but De gea is classic with a lot of experience than Onana. Where De gea was lacking was in having the confidence to create passes with his players stead of always shooting the ball away back to opponent ground dispossessing his team and that's not the kind of goalkeeping style Ten Hag wants that's why Onana has to replace De gea from Ajax.

I think Onana needs to be giving more time to work on his mistakes and that's what ten hag is doing, only that as time goes on his mistakes is causing the team some drawbacks with match results, even in those matches they could win they have to fight for a draw. because Onana couldn't save but  concede a shot that most goalkeepers could have  to saved.

The thing is that they're both good in there own ways, David De  Gea,no doubt has more experience than Onana when it comes to shot stopping he was one of the best shot stoppers I'm the EPL before he left Manchester United and can stop shots at a close range and from Afar as well, but is not really good with his foot and it's confident enough in receiving back passes and distributing to his players upfront.

But Onana is a ball playing goalie and he's very confidence in receiving ball from the defenders calm the situation and distribute it to the attackers, when it comes to playing from the build up you can count on him and that's what Erik Ten Hag likes because it's suitable for his pattern, but when it comes to shot stopping he's not really bad, but he's no where compared to David de Gea cause he loses focus atimes I think Onana is being pressured by the fans and he needs to be calm and work on his shot stopping.
One issue I am having with ten hag and united fans was the nature at which De Gea was pushed away, De Gea saved matches for United despite been old and not good with foot playing even when the team is performing bad  last season. He was worth a season more to working side by side Onana until before the end of the season Onana would have been able to gather the confidence he needs to stop shots just like De gea.

While the did has already been done, Manchester United need to adapt to the system as it is by preventing blunder from occuring at the defense and making sure to score more goals than their opponent in every match so they don't get drawbacks from Onana's goals conceding in each game,

1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 23, 2023, 06:14:39 AM
Jude Bellingham replace well with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos position but both senior player still get more minutes playing with Real Madrid in this season although Modric have to play more as holding midfielder. Jude Bellingham answered all Real Madrid fans trust because he has consistency on the top level and scoring goals on every matches not only in domestic league but also he scored one goal for Real Madrid in first Champion League match. Current situation with many well replacement in midfielder position, Madrid mustn't worry when Luka Modric and Toni Kroos leaving the team because he has Jude Bellingham, Camavinga, Falverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni have playing well as holding midfielder.

In my opinion, if Madrid ends up without Kross and Modric then neither Valverde, Camavinga nor Aurélien Tchouaméni will perform well. The role of Madrid senior players is still very important even for one more season. Considering that Kross and Modric have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders, they both give young midfielders the opportunity to be independent. I believe that if Madrid had decided to play without Kross and Modric sooner, the risk of instability could have been obvious.

If you look at Madrid match against Union Berlin, Tchouaméni's performance was not good. Let's say Bellingham is substituted, will Madrid score points? Isn't this very risky if one day Bellingham gets injured?
@hyudien you make a strong argument here about giving the old boys modric and kroos  more time to stay in the team based on their support role to the younger ones without so much experience as theirs. We can take Chelsea for an example, sending off their older players that could have helped the young one blend so well with the team and now not having a strong and creative midfield unlike when Covacic and Kante were present. You come to the defense same is lacking.

So if Madrid don't want to experience inconsistency in performance both at the local league and international they'll have to give modric and kroos more season as their presence would mean a great influence of the young ones like camavinga, valverde and others to stay up in competition.

I don't see any case against Onana because he was signed on as first choice goalie because of his potential and performance at inter Milan and he sure looks the part. What I know could be the issue affecting his current display for his new club could be that of getting used to the style of play and players themselves. Perhaps he is still trying to understand how fast the English league is and with less brutal tackles from defenders as one would think happens at inter Milan.
Let's give him some time, he would come around and prove why he is the best that has been signed yet and a worthy successor of De Gea.
Onana played good in Ajax Amsterdam then Inter Milan but he does not have good stats like De Gea. Onana only has one skill that is better than De Gea, passing but let's think. Is passing more important skill with a goalkeeper than saving?

Maybe Ten Hag see different things and accept Onana will make less savings than De Gea but can help Manchester United to pass the ball better from the lowest position on field, goalkeeper. He is right about that strength of Onana but at the same time he has to sacrifice more good savings to protect Manchester United goal and accept to see more conceded goals for his team.

Onana is not a bad goalkeeper but to conclude he is better than De Gea in general, I disagree.
Onana is good but De gea is classic with a lot of experience than Onana. That term 'entertainment' applies to those who are single and not asked by their parents to submit part of their salaries on their parents' hands. Rest are those who don't come in this category and they cannot entertain themselves through gambling. By the way, you just opened up one side of the coin here, you told us about people who want to win more through gambling. But what about the casinos? What about those who eat our money by any means and not let us withdraw anything and freeze our account for no reason? Do you think we will then be feeling entertained?

I believe the the casinos who wanted to profit in gambling and other scam entities can be discussed on another thread.  This thread is about the people who gambles for fun and yet they end up losing making their supposed to be fun experience become stressful due to the lose of money.

It maybe highly likely that people who losses money in gambling become frustrated since their goal is to win more money but ended up losing their bankroll, there are people who play gambling games for curiosity and fun.  Those who look at gambling as entertainment often allocates funds to spend to the activity just like when someone is into movies, hiking, and camping.  These people won't mind losing money because they think of it as expenses for their entertainment.  They will get doing it until they have enough and the activity is not fun anymore then they stop and look for new kind of entertainment.
Movies, hiking and camping are purely activities of entertainment and fun and so therefore in my opinion there is a little disparity in using them as comparison to gambling even though gambling has a touch of fun in it too and the gambler who claimed to derive just fun and entertainment from gambling not minding if they lose or win is sincerely not saying the truth as it ought to be.

No matter how much a person focuses on only getting entertained through gambling there will be a cloak of a winning desire inside him. In the inner mind he won't be settled thinking about it that all the times he spent on a slot game he didn't even get a single win out of 20 time's. For those fun activities you @bitcoinpanther mentioned above there's no idea of winning in partaking in them but just fun) entertainment unlike gambling a winning mentality is involved whether you playing for fun or not.
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 22, 2023, 06:36:06 PM

Feels good actually to invest and have a saying to have an investment in crypto and not just an ordinary crypto an Apex one to be precise which is way more cooler.

However, there comes a factor to be considered CAPITAL. Capital stands as a major factor to be considered while investing  however coming to the world of crypto and BTC precisely,  I think small capital won't do this considering the current monetary value for BTC.
Remember  the greater the capital the higher the profit and the higher the risk however considering BTC the risk minimal.
IMO, i consider this to be incorrect.

Quote
So How Much To Invest??
There's no conventionally accepted amount. Invest what you have and can start will provided it's something tangible to start with.

Quote
As I've said earlier, investing  little in BTC now won't give you a tangible profit when the profit comes but its advisable to invest 20- 40% of your capital in my opinion .However as a beginner or newbies, you literally know nothing about investing even if you have an idea you are still new to it so it is advisable to start with little amount to understand how the game is being played before considering any percentage  to add in your investment and this should be strictly  done according to your capital.

This is what I think but I know members with investment knowledge and others with more and deep knowledge could have a best saying but according to me this whati have to offer to newbies  though I'm also a beginner Smiley.
Hmmm interesting. Newbie teaching newbies.

By the way what sort of BTC investment are you emphasizing on. Is it hodling? Because bitcoin investment doesn't have any stipulated start-up amount for investing. It's advisable people invest with whatever amount they can afford to start with and later DCA little by little for a long term profit.

It is in trading you will be needing a   uh amount to trade for higher profit but as a newbie it's very risky to use big amount for trading as you haven't equip with the experience and concrete working strategy being at your nursery stage in trading.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?

I really don't like gamblers who become aggressive when they are on a losing streak. It's like he knows the risk that he will keep losing and lose a lot of money, but he still plays and loses and takes his anger out on other people, this is what I hate the most.
I agree with you, my father used to be like this. I understand why they are like that but it's so wrong, you should have a budget when it comes to gambling so that if you lose, you won't feel bad about what you lost. But of course I still love my father very much even though he used to be like that
Gambling is one engagement that has to do with so much risks and that's why people who can't manage the outcome of losing their money are strongly advised to stay out of gambling. One popular behavior among gamblers especially addicts is that they're always transferring their aggression on people around them whenever they lose their stakes in gambling and sometimes it does lead irreconcilable quarrells with people around them. It's very bad to behold most times.
Gamblers that behave this way taking the aggression of their loss on others they are gamblers that gamble beyond what they can afford to let go and just as @Sanugarid said they don't have budget a gambling budget so there's no control of a percentage limit they put budgeted just for gambling.

When you have a percentage amount you keep for yourself you can hardly go beyond it spending money meant for something else for gambling. Another thing is that those that get aggressive and quarrelsome about losing their money to gambling are people who don't view gambling as an activity for fun and entertainment but something entirely of money making.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When Gamblers Fail to Read a Casino's Terms and Conditions on: September 22, 2023, 11:01:50 AM
I have read a lot of gambling threads both here on the forum and in other forums. This makes me to draw the conclusion that most gamblers are either too lazy to read the Terms and Conditions (T&C,)or they don't just care about it. The results of which leads to misunderstandings and frustrations, often resulting in negative reviews and complaints that may not accurately represent the casino's practices. It is too bad. I have noticed that when gamblers don't read the T&S of a casino, they :
A lot of gamblers if not 95% it can be 90% gamblers don't have the luxury of spending time to read these casinos T&S to know where there are conditions that infringe on their gambling right and some that tries to read hardly read to the end.

On the side of these online casinos there's something about them and their T&S. They make it so long and tedious to read that even if you initially had the interest to read through you get bored in the middle cause it seems there are certain repetition in slight different ways that makes the reader feel like he's wasting his time. And I think the casinos knows what they are doing by making the T&S the way they all do it.

Our bitcoin is something we should keep secret and of course it's appreciated so far as security is concerned but there's a limit to being secretive with our bitcoin and other assets especially for asset's that worth huge amounts of money there must be a trusted person in the family

you'll need to tell about how to gain access to your wealth in the verge of a sudden life threatening incident leading to your loss. Tomorrow is not guaranteed what will happen to us as we strive our health can fail us without pre-informing

We don't pray for evil to happen but that doesn't mean it will never happen, so making it known to one trusted family member about our wealth gateway is another form of security to our wealth should anything bad happen to us. It will be bad you lost your live and that begins the suffering of your family when they could have been living from your amassed wealth.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage your money on gambling sites. on: September 21, 2023, 06:02:30 PM
I've been following a few gambling channels on Twitter and Telegram, and whenever they share a screenshot of a bet slip or winning ticket, they occasionally also include the balance of their wallet. I've seen this happen several times, which made me wonder why they don't choose to withdraw their winnings instead of storing them in their gambling site wallet. Why do they leave that much in there, or is it simply for show off? A gambling expert should know better than to save their money on casino websites.

I always withdraw all my winnings and only deposit the right amount i want to use to gamble whenever i want to play a game. I’d like to know everyone’s opinion on which way is better and which one do you practice in managing your funds on gambling sites.
Exposing the balance of their gambling account through a screenshot is another strategy use by those users of gambling telegram channels to attract more newcomers to their group.

To them it's an evidence to show that their predictions are working and they are making profits through the winnings from their predictions but many of those screenshots they showcase are fake they are doctored to make it look like their bets are completely sure but every wise gambler is supposed to understand that no prediction is 100% sure, it's all about luck.

As a genuine gambler I can't leave my winnings in my gambling account, each winning is meant to be withdrawn leaving specific amount to be use for another bet trial anyone leaving his whole winnings in  account and making a screenshot to bring to public is either being stupid or trying to defraud an unsuspecting gambler that may be lured by that screenshot.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling? on: September 21, 2023, 05:30:20 PM
Excluding the winning if money in gambling there's also entertainment and fun in gambling and it's not for man alone. Women are also seeking for means to catch fun and be entertained that's why some of them get into gambling.

Unlike men for most women that are gambling the money making part in gamble is secondary to them once the entertainment is sure to be attained

And this is why we scarcely have women addicts to gambling even though some may argue this point that the number of men in gambling is higher than that of women that's why men's addiction to gambling is prevalence.

You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary

There is a thing called contentment, which you haven't discovered yet.
Contentment is something that's very good and it's a virtue everyone should have but being contented doesn't mean satisfaction.

Humans should be contented with what they have but it doesn't mean they should be satisfied because human wants are insatiable as they are tied to growth (in all ramifications of life) so we keep striving to get more.

Quote
First I would say "human needs are insatiable."

Not true. Some people's, or a lot of people's if you like, but not everyone's. I insist on the previous comment. The rest of what you say, since it is based on a premise that I consider false, I do not agree with it.
As much as you're a human and alive you are bond to have one need or the other. Our needs keep piling after we solve one another will submerge.

In fact for the very reason that humans are faced with unlimited wants but with scarce means to meet those wants it then entails that no man can be satisfied in life he will always be in need for something to keep life going whether we agree or not.
1319  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: September 21, 2023, 02:14:19 PM
...
In conclusion, it is possible for the world to be 100% dependent on renewable energy, but it would require a significant transformation of the current energy system and a collective effort from all stakeholders. Some countries and regions have already achieved or are close to achieving this goal, such as Iceland, Brazil, New Zealand’s South Island, Denmark’s Samsø island, and Germany’s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein regions. These examples show that 100% renewable energy is not only feasible but also desirable for a sustainable future.

with the increasing effect of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, making global warming increasingly uncontrollable, renewable energy is something that the earth really needs right now, but it is not easy to realize a world that uses 100% renewable energy, there are many factors that influence it; like politics, just imagine if the use of oil or coal is stopped then oil or coal entrepreneurs will no longer be able to make a profit, so they are as many as possible lobbying leaders in developing countries to continue to depend on oil and coal, Pollution in several big cities is also quite worrying. As recently happened in Jakarta, so far no one cares about the air in Jakarta, the residents are only busy with their own interests and the government doesn't care about that even though the carbon gas created by the daily activities of Jakarta residents is quite worrying.
You made a very strong point here when you mentioned about the politics that's involve when considering those countries hat economy depends on crude oil the "OPEC" countries the idea of renewable energy development despite how it sounds good for the climate against the effect of green house  gases on the global environment

to the oil producing countries it's a bad business for them and that's why the world at large will not be taken over by renewable energy even in the next 50 years because there's a strong politics underground from those OPEC countries.

As for atmospheric population generation from oil and coal I think same can be talked about with renewable energy like hydropower plants, where is the waste deposited and what are the health effect  is a question we have not asked ourselves.

For sure, lots of people will say too low on this, but that's the sign that you would be selling your personal data. Our data should have no money value as we need to protect it, but right now I've seen a lot of people, mostly in my country, ready to sell their identity to whomever needed it as long as they were paid.

Recently this year, I saw a thread from our country forum that they will pay about $10 for filling out a form that contains your ID and personal data, and surprisingly, a lot of people do it, even using their parents identities.
The data's are given too low money value so that we don't see it as anything important as people are claiming it to be. I see a lots of data survey companies offering between less than $1-$5 for different degrees of informations about the person and people don't care to know why they will be paying to get their data's if it's not that important.

The data's we don't care about today in exchange for $10  can be used against us and family in the future that can cost us competitive positions in the society and other things when they get sold into the hands of a rival. People should learn to protect themselves for the future since it's unknown if what will be.
Even if that doesn't pose any risk for us or our families, the survey companies that collect personal information from us by either paying us or making promises to give us rewards and money, sell these data to other companies that pay them way more than what they pay us for the information. That is the reason why these survey companies strive to get as much information as they can because they know it's extremely valuable.

Have you ever wondered why and how we get SMS promotional messages from time to time on our personal phone numbers when we don't give our numbers to anyone? It's because the GSM companies that we get our numbers from sell these data to companies that advertise their products and services through it.
It's obvious they are making a whooping profit from the data's they get or buy from both people that are willing to sell and those they manipulate if not I see no reason what they will be spending money to pay for something that's without value to them.

About the promotional SMS you are right, there was a time I had to put a call through to one of the network service provider I am using to lay a complaint due to the excessive promotional SMS I have been receiving and all they could reply me was that if the messages ain't important to me I should ignore each time I receive any. And it's so annoying that I still receive them to this date. That was how I got an eye-opener that it's all a collaborative business.
