Bangladesh has always been a competitive team as far as T20 format is concerned they have shown good performances in that rather than other formats ODI and test .
This series is an example of that but still shocked and surprising to see England end in a whitewash.
LOL.... Bangladesh is anything but consistent. They perform pathetically whenever they play in SNEA conditions. And apart from Shakib al Hasan, they don't have someone who performs consistently (although Litton Kumer Das is showing a lot of promise lately). England was whitewashed because of their own weaknesses. First of all, they didn't made the proper preparations once they landed in Bangladesh. And secondly, their spinners couldn't make use of the helpful pitch conditions and trouble the Bangladeshi batsmen. And finally, the England batsmen were clueless against the Bangladeshi spinners. Stats of Bangladesh on there home ground are always better then how they perform elsewhere. They even have whitewashed Pakistan in ODI series played in Bangladesh few years back. PCB must learn something from this, even Bangladesh prepare home pitches that suit them. We have seen pitches in Pakistan that resulted in the loss of 3 consecutive home test series. |

UAE started really good they maintained a good run rate and again Muhammad waseem played a mature innings for its team , now after 34 overs UAE is on 155 runs with 4 wickets loss.
With this pace they can score 250 runs easily if they don't stumble.
Vriitya Aravind is also on fire and still not out made 71 runs for 115 balls. And with him Asif Khan. If they will play wisely and will remain this partnership till end they can easily go up from 250 runs. Muhammad Waseem played really played well 63 runs on 49 balls. By the way I am looking that this match is going to be a very interesting match. Nepal performance will may surprise us. Vriitya Aravind and Muhammad Wasim have done major damage to Nepal. The worrying thing for Nepal is that Vriitya Aravind is still not out on 78 and still 6 overs play remaining. Nepal bowlers have done good job as they have picked wickets and slowed down the run rate but the job is not yet over. They must try to restrict UAE by 250 or even less. |

I would rather favor Multan Sultans for today's match, since they have won their last two matches and therefore have the momentum. On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars lost their last match to one of the weakest teams in the tournament (to be fair, the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi negatively impacted the fortunes of Lahore). David Wiese's captaincy also didn't clicked during the last match. Now Afridi is back as the captain, and the bowling department is also boosted. England was going perfectly fine till 13th over when Malan and Butler were batting. In 14th, over Malan got out, and that's the point where England lost the track. Wikcets keep falling after that, and runs stop coming. It's a good victory of Bangladesh as they completed a whitewash against a strong T20 side. Well... we discussed about this before. Right now, BCCI is completely dominating the ICC and they can do whatever they want. Pakistan is essentially isolated among the full members. The only viable option for Pakistan is to move Asia Cup to a neutral venue, and it maybe some of the cities in the United Arab Emirates. But doing so means that the PCB will lose a large share of revenue. PCB should try for a deal with ACC, which will force the BCCI to pay a monetary compensation. Afterall, the last minute decision to pull out was taken by the BCCI.
It's not about monetary loss or gain but rather dignity. If India is not willing to come to Pakistan, then why should Pakistan visit India? There is no doubt that BCCI is the wealthy board, and no one can challenge his decisions, including ICC. Pakistan has visited India numerous times to play bilateral series and ICC events in last decade. I don't think PCB will send his team to Pakistan after India pull out. |

The match on 16th (Thursday) is extremely crucial for Nepal. It is probably the most important match that Sandeep Lamichhane and his team-mates will every play in their career. They need a win against the United Arab Emirates to overtake Namibia and finish at the 3rd place within ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 2019-2023. If they are able to do that, then they will qualify directly to the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, and more importantly keep their ODI status. They will keep the current funding levels from ICC as well.
In case they lose the match, they will be forced to play the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. Along with that, their funding from ICC will be reduced and they will forfeit their ODI status (the ODI status is just nominal, as none of the full members play against Nepal). Nepal is showing a lot of promise, but all of that will be wasted in case they lose the match on Thursday.
In case they won the match we will have 5th team from South Asia playing world cup ODI. I saw a short clip of this series going on in Nepal on social media and for my surprise Nepal people are crazy for cricket. Such enthusiasm is not seen in UAE and Oman. As Nepal have won last 5 games, three against PNG and 2 against UAE so defiantly they are favorite for last game. But Nepal need to give there best and don't take the game easy. Nepal absolutely destroyed Papua New Guinea. First of all, only 95 were collected by Papua New Guinea in the first innings. And it took them 32 overs to get that. Nepal goes to the target in only less than 8 overs. Sandeep Lamichanne performed really well in this match. He got five wickets. He basically destroyed the backbone of the Papua New Guinea's batting order. This is going to be a big confidence booster for Nepal. I hope they will be able to continue performing well like this.
Nepal is now unbeaten in the last 5 matches, and if they win last ODI, they will finish 3rd in this tournament. I don't know what benefit top teams of this tournament will get but it's good to see Nepal coming up. I think not Russia but actually China is mastermind behind this policy.
That's not new though. It actually started a very short time after US dollar became reserve currency and I'd say one of the first group of countries that started dumping USD were Europeans in the 70's but US scammed them by doing pretty much what they are doing today and introducing Petrodollar. Countries like Russia only needed the "last straw" to speed up the dedollarization process and that last straw was the sanctions. Otherwise BRICS for instance has been discussing using another currency for trades for the past couple of years, long before Russia was sanctioned. And of course China has been planning to replace US as the dominating global force through economy for decades. There is certainly loads of benefits for China in this. But again the trend has been going on longer than this. P.S. On another news US national debt surpassed $31.6 trillion...I keep asking myself this funny question that almost all countries are under debt including economic powers like USA and Japan (In December 2022, the Japanese public debt was 9.8 trillion US Dollars). If the whole world is under debt then who is the lender? China has 3,133.2 USD billion in its reserves by Feb 2023. China is relying heavily on USD. World affairs are changing so rapidly that we can't predict how the world will be in the coming 6 years. |

This match was very competitive. It was not as boring as India vs Australia match. The match between India and Australia was very boring because the pitch was flat. The bowlers were not getting any advantage. But the pitch in Sri Lanka vs New Zealand match was very good. And the match turned out to be enjoyable.
The Sri Lankan bowlers bowled well in the second innings. But due to the responsible batting of Williamson and Daryl Mitchell, they could not win this match. Williamson scored 121 not out. And Mitchell's collection was 81 runs. However, Sri Lankan bowler Asitha Fernando bowled well in both innings. He was able to take 4 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings.
New Zealand required 257 runs on the last day and with 8 wickets remaining. My initial though t was it will be difficult to chase such target on the very last day of the match. Credit for this run chase goes to Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell. They both have a partnership of 142 between them and this partnership comes at a time when Sri Lanka was sensing victory. Most of the time Lahore Qalanders were more dangerous and tough when they bat first and score at least 150 around because everyone know that they have world class bowler like Shaheen , Haris, zaman, Rashid who love to defend. Few matches ago they defend 150 runs again Quetta and you can't believe they won, so defending 200+ runs against Islamabad is

LQ and IU have already qualified for the next round. Yesterday match was of no importance for both teams in terms of qualifying for the next round. No IU batsmen was able to cross 20 yesterday and the main reason is Rashid Khan keep on picking wickets regularly. Today there is important match between Zalmi and Sultans.
