1301  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: July 24, 2023, 07:53:19 AM
It's hard to know if Whale's wallet sending funds to the exchange meant he sent those coins with the intention of selling them. Whales are smart enough to know how to use their funds, and they know how to generate profit from it. The purpose of this transfer could be that this whale deposited the funds in the exchange to trade in the altcoin, could be anything but we can only speculate.

And the most important thing is that once a whale sells all its coins and exits the market, there are thousands more whales sitting here to take entry to the market. So if someone sells, the other side has more whales to buy this coin. There is no point in creating FUD by looking at such a transection, you are questioning the future of the crypto currency market based on a transection!
None of us are sure of the reason for this sale, all we can do is to speculate. It is possible that these whales have gotten to their projected profit margin and they want to sell and make gains. And other whales want to buy at the current price because they are targeting the halving season. It is also possible that these coins are bought by some of the firms that applied for spot Bitcoin ETF approval in the US.

There is also a general belief that altcoins give more profit than Bitcoin. So these whales may be diversifying to altcoins believing that as the price of bitcoin gains during the halving period, these altcoins will gain triple or even more profit. It is also possible that some of these coins were moved because of strict regulations. Recently Kuwait banned crypto activities, so many investors will have to move their investments to avoid sanctions.

We can keep giving more reasons because we don't know the reason for the movement of these crypto assets.

1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Michael Saylor a modern apostle like Peter and Paul? on: July 24, 2023, 02:25:52 AM
If Bitcoin were to replace the current global financial system and achieve widespread adoption as a decentralized and reliable store of value, some enthusiasts might see Michael Saylor as a visionary or a pivotal figure. Similar to how Peter and Paul played crucial roles in spreading the teachings of Christianity, Saylor's active promotion and strategic investment in Bitcoin could be viewed as instrumental in driving its adoption.
Bitcoin is an alternative payment system that promotes privacy and decentralization. Bitcoin has the potential of becoming one of the dominant currencies, especially when it becomes less volatile but I am not sure it will become the only currency. It will keep existing with fiat and people will have the opinion of using anyone.

Quote
The analogy suggests that just as the apostles were significant in the establishment and spread of Christianity, Saylor's dedication to advocating for Bitcoin and integrating it into his business strategies could be perceived as foundational for a potential future financial paradigm.
Your comparison between Saylor and Peter and Paul is funny. Saylor is promoting and protecting his investment because he wants to make financial gains. While Peter and Paul were promoting the Gospel because of eternal life. But I have to also confirm that Saylor is doing a great job. As he is promoting his Bitcoin asset, it is also having a good impact on the ecosystem.

While the overindulgent citizens and bourgeoisie in the Europe or USA are struggling to comprehend that 2.625 Bitcoin are vital for them not to become slaves in the next 100 years or can't grasp how to conduct AML Bitcoin LN transactions, here's an interesting fact. In Africa, approximately 500 million people do not possess passports and consequently, they lack access to banking services. The only available financial instrument for them today is Bitcoin LN. Understand, gentlemen, strictly speaking, it is indifferent to me whether you join the Order 2.625 or if we have to form an Order with our African brothers. In some sense, it might even be easier with them since their minds haven't undergone nuclear cleansing from Marvel and DC, and I can teach them everything they need to know: Rwanda, Sudan, Kenya, Chad, Angola... strictly speaking, these territories hold countless riches... diamonds, gold, cadmium... you name it, just to add around 8 million plebeians to our Order. And then, who knows, perhaps the "old" money earned by Belgians on the backs of Rwandans will turn to dust, and Belgium itself will become a colony.
Your claim that African nations hold so much potential based on natural resources and population strength is true. But these resources are not reflected in the standard of living of the people on the continent. Most unbanked people in Africa are poor and have no need for banks because they have nothing to save. Lack of basic amenities and illiteracy will not give bitcoin a good opportunity to flourish. Bitcoin will be a leading payment option in Africa if these nations gain some level of development.
1304  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe have one big problem the euro currency on: July 23, 2023, 05:03:28 PM
In my opinion, the European economy is still the largest economy in the world, but one thing is that they are deadlocked, dependent and too dependent on the US. Every decision they make is heavily influenced by the US. The US always seeks to contain all other countries so that no one can surpass it, including its allies. If I remember correctly, the British pound was also the dominant currency in the world until the USD took its place. And before the British pound dominated the world currency, the currencies of countries such as Portugal, the Netherlands... were the dominant currencies, but today all are dependent and under the direction of the US.
The US and European market is interconnected making them depend on each other. Each time the US increases its interest rate it always has some negative impact on the European currency. Just like the US, European nations understand the world economy and they know how to manipulate it for their benefit. We are still expecting the much anticipated BRICS currency that is projected to give these dominant currencies the needed competition.

OP might be getting it wrong if he is measuring the economic power or the worth of a nation's currency by available natural resources. Currently, the most profitable resources are humans and technology. These nations might not gave gold, silver, oil, and gas but they have the brainpower to maximize these resources because of their technological advancement. Currently the artificial intelligence, medical, IT, and electronic private sectors in Europe are far richer than most countries that boast of essential mineral resources.
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Appeal to the Average Joe and Jane Bitcoin Investors: Buy Bitcoin Now! on: July 23, 2023, 04:39:15 PM
Dear Average Joe and Jane in the Bitcointalk Community,

I hope this appeal finds you well.
I don't think it's right to appeal to people to buy Bitcoin. You don't even encourage people to buy, they should be allowed to make their choice. People can decide to invest in order areas apart from bitcoin, so let them make their decisions. If you have the opportunity tell people about Bitcoin and you have done your bit.

Quote
Another reason why I appeal to you to buy bitcoin now is that there is always a price push from institutions when they enter the bitcoin market, as we have seen in the past. Because they buy thousands of bitcoins all at once, they create a lot of buying pressure that eventually leads to an increase in bitcoin's value. The result is that the price is driven up, and this makes it difficult for retail investors to buy bitcoin.
Which organization do you want to compete with. They have the funds to buy as much as they can and nobody can stop them because it is a free market. I know there are wealthy bitcoiners but I doubt our capacity to compete with these multi-billion dollar firms. You don't need to buy one bitcoin to be part of the market. Retailers will always have the chance to buy Bitcoin according their capacity. There is no need to rush because there will always be opportunities to buy and sell.

1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 22, 2023, 09:07:35 PM
No matter how much players City loses in this transfer window, it will never show that they are missing a particular player, the citizens have a team that doesn't depend on a player to make the squad stronger, they have the best team in the EPL and to compete for next season title is just their target. Pep can never go without lifting a trophy in a season.
In as much as the top six in the EPL have made different changes of their first 11, I don't see them going ahead of City and I feel the Manchester City team would act more deadly next season, they'd be hard to break next season.
Manchester City didn't just relax after their won three trophies last season. Coach Pep kept on improving the team by buying new players. They have invested money to buy quality players like Mateo Kovacic and others to make the team strong. But other clubs are also making tremendous chances to make the EPL competition stiff. City might have a good coach and outstanding players but we can be certain that they will even win a trophy this season because football is unpredictable. Pep might have been winning at least a trophy each season but this season might be different.

Smiley
A good performance of a team requires an experienced coach first. If the coach is not experienced, the team will not get the expected performance even after having a strong squad. Liverpool's squad was strong. But their coach had several tactical mistakes. Hence Liverpool's performance was erratic. Arsenal and Newcastle, on the other hand, performed well with average teams. I expect a better performance from Newcastle next season. But it doesn't seem like this team will be able to continue such great performance in the next season. Because the Newcastle management is still not taking the necessary steps to strengthen the team.
Jurgen Klopp is a tactically sound coach and this has shown in the past result of Liverpool. Last season the club has so many challenges such as the departure of Mane, injuries, and an aging midfield. The striking combination of Mane and Salah that have been the powerhouse of Liverpool was disbanded by the departure of Mane to Bayern Munich. The club was then hit by injury problems that sidelined some key players. Also, the failure to use the January transfer to buy new players to replace aging players in the midfield like Henderson and Fabinho affected the team's performance. One can also say that Liverpool was just unfortunate last season.
1307  Other / Meta / Re: How Can We Identify Someone Who Uses AI? on: July 22, 2023, 08:20:02 AM
There is no specific rule against the use of AI, it has been so long since a new rule was included in the forum, but there is a rule against spamming and users who rely on bot posts are usually account farmers, spamming on multiple accounts.
If you find any generic looking post, which does not offer any human thought but beats around generalities, you may likely have reached an AI post.
Detecting AI posts is complicated because there are several detectors with inconsistent results. Some tools will report that a post is AI generated while another result will show that it was written by a human. This will pose a big challenge to the community making it difficult to come to a consensus about posts. These AI tools are designed to copy humans and every day there are advancements in this technology making it difficult to dictate. The AI technological sector is an emerging market that will mature in the future. We hope to have some trustworthy AI tools that can be precise and accurate in detecting works written by bots.

Manually finding AI posts can be very difficult because some users usually edit the results to give them a human face. At first, I kept suspecting that long posters might be using these tools but it turned out to be wrong. This is because some people like doing long posts. I also began to assume that most well-written and error-free posts might be connected to these tools, but it also turned out to be false. I have also seen members that were wrongly accused of using artificial intelligence to write posts because their post was long, looked generic, and error-free. And when the community investigated it turned out that they were written by humans. The bottom line is that there is no known standard to rate AI-generated posts.
1308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Rush Whenever Posting: Cross Check and Edit before Hitting the post Button on: July 22, 2023, 06:46:27 AM
To Non English Users
Mistake is inevitable, if there is no mistake there is no correction, that is, people make mistake and through the mistake, corrections are made. Most users submit their post without cross checking the write up. So in many times omissions occurred and some ungrammatical statement occurred and English speaking users see them as trash, shit post without correction. It is better you reread you work before posting to avoid mistake. Be a good poster. Avoid mistake. But mistake is inevitable. It most come but not always.
Good advice OP. One might not be good at English grammar but we are expected to put effort and improve our writings. Using English grammar software like Grammarly and Whitesmoke online checkers might help correct some errors and some of these software are free online. We should also review our posts to make corrections. Natural English speakers should also be patient with us who are learning how to speak the language. It has not really been easy to become proficient.

This alone can't make a post appear to be a shitpost; punctuation errors and some forms of grammatical errors do not remove the main information that is being passed. There are a lot of posts I come across here where the OP is really not good with English, but when you read through those lines, you will have to understand what the person is saying. A shitpost is when the person doesn't know what they are saying and goes completely off-key or out of line. The post doesn't aim to share any positive contributions to the forum or its members.
A simple grammatical error can change the entire meaning of a sentence. And when readers don't understand some sentences, will be incoherence which will lead to misinformation and most people are not patient enough to read through the lines of some posts. Mistakes happen but we should try to limit it by putting more effort into our posts. But it because a problem when it becomes a common occurrence in our works.
1309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lost access to my bitcoin wallet... on: July 22, 2023, 06:25:33 AM
Calculate how much bitcoin you own in USD(or your local currency) terms, then decide if it's worth paying decent sums of money for a file recovery service. It might cost a good amount of money.
After your calculations, if you discover that you can afford the service and still make some good profit, you can seek a reputable recovery service provider. It will not be also a bad idea to get the service of legal professional if you have a good number of coins. There is a need for a legal document to be signed that states the terms and conditions of service. Nobody can be trusted with money.

1311  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 03:04:48 PM
So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?
Every gambler has a peculiar reason for gambling. If you research why people gamble you will have different responses from respondents. Many people gamble because they see gambling as a source of income to meet their basic needs. Their main motivation for gambling is to get quick money. I high number of these set of people are found in poor countries where there is a high rate of unemployment and poverty. These set of people resort to gambling because they have nowhere to get income. While another set of people gamble because of fun and entertainment. And you can find the majority of them are in prosperous nations where unemployment is minimal.

I think the poor gamble more than the poor because most poor people depend on luck to get riches. Some people don't care about hard work but believe in luck. But most of the rich have an understanding of how to get wealth so the don't depend on fate but work hard to get wealth. Many rich people don't also have spare time to gamble but the poor have all the time to engage in betting.
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 21, 2023, 11:02:27 AM
Mr. Right,

I am more curious if there are companies behind it that are suitable, and in need, to advertise on my very decent traditional news and opinion website.
You can attract companies to advertise on your website based on different factors. The first consideration is your content. Your content must be standard and error-free. Some blogs offer nothing good or new to the public. Such websites will have fewer views and no firm will want to advertise on them. What will attract companies to your website is the number of views and how popular your website is. Companies want wider visibility, so to attract them, you should build and increase the online visibility of your website.

If your website contains bitcoin news or information , you can contact the business that offers Bitcoin-related services to your website to evaluate whether it would help them in advertising their product or service. If your website is educational and popular, companies will contact you because they know that your website will help to promote their business.

Possibly OP might be conducting a research on signature as the case may be because the question was kind of showing how curious OP is in knowing more about the signature as it is done here. I believe from the little OP must have read,  OPs doubt is now clear and his knowledge is enlightened about the signature and how it works and from the looks what you have said is quite not different from the truth. Op might possibly want to run a campaign but would need a guideline to doing such here.
Based on the further questions OP asked I deduced that he intends to attract companies to advertise on his website so that he can make money from his website. I don't think he wants to run any campaign in the forum. He wants to know about campaign in the forum so that he can apply the same strategy to his website.
1313  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 21, 2023, 10:04:40 AM

With regard to the question, there can be two ways: the first is good by encouraging citizens to increase offspring and reproduction, and the second is evil by trying to keep poor countries backward and spread wars and chaos so that young people in these countries are forced to emigrate and work in developed countries.
From all indications developed nations will continue to depend on underdeveloped nations for manpower until they can solve their problem of underdevelopment. And I guess it will be a herculean task to increase the population in these first-world nations because the current generation of these countries doesn't want to have more children. In China, the years of the implementation of the one-child policy have affected the social structure. People are no longer interested in having children for different reasons. So the overpopulation in most third world nations is a blessing to these developed nations.

Smiley
The world is changing, and we have seen that computers can now accomplish many things, but this does not negate the need for humans in such sectors.  Many undeveloped countries cannot stop population growth, hence the population will continue to expand. It is now up to each country's government to make good use of its people in order to attain cheap labour.
I also share your thoughts on the development of modern technology that can mimic human intelligence and abilities. The introduction of artificial intelligence tools, modern machines, and robots can reduce the need for humans in the workplace. It is estimated that AI will take over about 85 million jobs by 2025. But I doubt if these modern technologies will reduce the need for humans because new jobs will also emerge from these innovations.

I have been hearing for a long time that large-scale of selling and buying Bitcoin has a big impact on the market. So now a question arasie in my mind that how this proccess manupulate  the market? I wanna know some details from you guys.
Thank you

~speedx~

The Bitcoin market is also controlled by forces of demand and supply, the higher the demand the greater the price, and the lesser the demand the lower the price. When the government makes such an announcement that it is selling a large chunk of bitcoin it also gives rise to FUD. Some investors will begin to dump their coins because of fear of the unknown. But in recent times these news or dumps is having less impact on the market price. Most times the market recovers in a few days. The bitcoin sector is gradually becoming immune to the impact caused by these sales which usually caused the market to nosedive in time past.
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brazil to launch CBDC, Github repo found on: July 21, 2023, 09:15:55 AM
Like this. The title is interesting but the content is less interesting. "US Central Bank Launches FedNow, Its Fast Payment System" Source Link: https://markettimes.co.uk/markets/20/07/2023/us-central-bank-launches-fednow-its-fast-payment-system/. don't know what they think.
FedNow is not a CBDC or connected blockchain technology. It is just a fiat payment system that seeks to promote faster transactions and bypassing of middlemen in payment systems. The service have been existing in Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, and some countries in Europe. Transactions that would have lasted for days to complete can be executed in minutes.

The government is doing everything possible to give people options to focus on fiat transactions. They want to compete with the swiftness of bitcoin transactions, so they are creating alternative payment channels. Making FedNow transactions to be charge directly from the central bank bypassing some intermediaries is targeted at giving people the feeling of privacy. While the free service offered by FedNow is to compete with the relatively cheap transaction cryptocurrency.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brazil to launch CBDC, Github repo found on: July 19, 2023, 02:00:31 PM
The first link is written in the National Language so I could not understand anything there and the second link which for the Twitter has no good information. But in my own research and finding, I came to discovered that Brazil is trying to use the CBDC to freeze or reduce use of funds in the country through pilot project. And that will not work well with the citizens. Now are they not going to end of stealing citizens funds by reducing the balance of the account. This is a strange way of malhandling of citizens funds.
Brazil CBDC Pilot
The government has the power to freeze funds in commercial banks suspected to be proceeds from crime, money laundering or to be used to fund terrorism. They also have the right to withdraw such funds because the commercial banking system is centralized. CBDCs are not different from fiat banking because they are still controlled by the central bank. The government will not just unilaterally freeze or withdraw from the accounts of citizens unless there is an allegation of financial malpractice. This is not a strategy to reduce people's funds but to control it.
1317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 19, 2023, 12:12:00 PM
So before spreading bitcoin awareness, first of all take care of your own security First. If you can then leave the advocacy for that period. Bitcoin Uniqness will surely pave way for itself like it has been doing through the years.
In some countries, if you tell people that you own bitcoin, they will think that you are rich. Such individuals might immediately be a soft target of criminals. As Op said, there is a need to uphold security and privacy. There is no need to engage in open bitcoin awareness in a country where the coin is banned. Some of these laws forbid not only the use of Bitcoin but the spread of information that promotes it. Engaging in bitcoin awareness in such an area is dangerous and could lead to severe punishment.

We are encouraged to engage in the promotion of bitcoin but it should be done considering the laws of the land. And bitcoin education is not by force but by choice. Bitcoin awareness and adoption will keep growing as the currency becomes more influential in the global financial system.
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 19, 2023, 11:44:29 AM
BTW, Al Nassr is banned from signing anymore European players, due to a dispute with Leicester (regarding the transfer fee for Ahmed Musa). They were planning to bring Hakim Ziyech and Domenico Berardi to Saudi Arabia.
Al Nassr is banned by FIFA from signing new players until they pay Leicester City a £390,000 debt. This should not be a problem for a financially sound club. They should be able to pay the debt without much stress. Saudi league clubs should also be careful because UEFA is not happy with the way players are moving to the Arabian nation. They can be given a strict punishment if any abnormality is dictated from their financial transactions.

The match between nassr vs celta vigo already ended last night. Ronaldo club being humiliated by celta vigo. Celta vigo was destroying al nassr with 5-0 as the final score.
It's just a friendly game and a warm up for the next season. Five goals is not a good score but the most important thing is to learn lessons from the game. Al Nassr coach should be able to analyse the game and make the needed changes. The first half was fine with a goalless scoreline but Ronaldo missed a clear chance to put the Saudi side ahead. But it's all good.
1319  Economy / Economics / Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 19, 2023, 11:06:08 AM
We have had different analyses about the implication of population on the economy of a nation. Some economists will argue that the reason for the underdevelopment of most countries is because of overpopulation. Hence they are advised to cut down the population through diverse means like birth control and so on. In other countries, economists are also predicting economic woes because of underpopulation. These nations have been advised to increase the birth rate through diverse means. Some nations are giving citizens diverse welfare packages to increase the number of children they have. Some are encouraging immigration to fill the gaps created by the labor shortages.

A close look at this situation shows that many of these overpopulated nations mostly in Africa and Asia are underdeveloped. While these underpopulated nations are economically buoyant. I think the reason for the poverty of these developing nations is not the population but bad governance and the inability to maximize and distribute available resources equally.  We cannot deny the fact that these overpopulated nations are economically important to these developed nations in terms of human resources. And they contribute immensely to the development of these first-world nations in terms of cheap labour.

How do you think these developed nations will fill vacancies in their nations and get cheap labor if the population of these developing nations is reduced?

US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announces plan to back the US dollar with Bitcoin. Do your think it is a good idea?
source: https://www.thestreet.com/cryptocurrency/rfk-jr-announces-plan-to-back-dollar-with-bitcoin-end-bitcoin-taxes
I don't always believe what politicians say especially during campaigns but it is good news. Integrating Bitcoin into the monetary policy of a financially strong and politically influential nation like the US is a big boast of bitcoin. He said the dollars will be backed by bitcoin, gold, and silver gradually. He also promised to make the US bitcoin-friendly through tax exemptions and fewer regulations.

We have had some US presidential hopefuls proposing policies to make Bitcoin popular if they become president and the majority of them are Republicans. This news alone is good for Bitcoin and we keep hoping that any of them wins. I have not heard Trump's current views about bitcoin after he called it a scam. Maybe his views have changed after all his predictions failed.
