1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the year 2100 on: December 06, 2016, 11:27:18 PM
I think big, very big things will happen within the next 10 years. I just saw a speech by andreas antonopulous on payment channels and he explains how lighting network works and what it can do for us. He talks about a new concept of "streaming money", fascinating stuff. Like being paid in real time instead of having to way at the end of the month to get paid. This will change the game.
1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: December 06, 2016, 11:21:34 PM
This will only be the case if people actively work for bitcoin and pay with bitcoin, so there is no need to enter the banking system at all. We need to close the circle and stay 100% within bitcoin for true freedom to happen. Also, we must guarantee that people can keep running their nodes on their basements, if we depend on corporations to run nodes then we are screwed (big blocks problem)
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greg Maxwell aka /u/nullc is banned from Reddit on: December 06, 2016, 11:17:49 PM
If you look at the facts it's clear that being banned from reddit because of that is absolute nonsense. This is obviously plotted so now they can circle jerk on /r/btc acknowledging each others bullshit without no one smarter than them that actually gets shit done and codes calling them out. I hope the reddit admins look at this case and restate their decision for a global ban, if you look at the facts it just doesn't make sense. In any case /r/btc will fall by itself because so many bs artists in the same place will make it collapse eventually.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MY gambling strategy to limit loss and make btc on: December 05, 2016, 03:52:31 PM
My strategy is to stop gambling when I make any amount of decent gains and that is what has been working form e the best, all the other strategies simply don't cut it and don't work in the long term, yo always end up fucked by the entropy of randomness so you must take your profit and leave when you still can.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: December 05, 2016, 03:47:46 PM
Slot games are my favorite type of casino games. Ever since I was a kid I used to watch the slot machines from the window (because you can't enter if you are under 18) and I wanted to play. It is fun when you start racking up gains and you stack on profit. I once went from 0.1 to 2 BTC, and of course I was too greedy and lost it all, but it was still a great adrenaline trip.
1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overestimating Ethereum's potential, underestimating its risks. RIP ethereum. on: December 05, 2016, 03:19:58 PM
"I think a lot of people buying into it have been materially mislead.  For example the 'prospectus' they sent out made it look like the supply of coins was finite instead of endlessly inflating.  Without that knowledge the argument "oh, well eventually they'll fix the bugs and it'll be valuable then" makes more sense.

Similarly, it was promoted as a "world computer" which will replace all the major online services like facebook, uber, etc... even though that makes basically no sense from the perspective of what the technology could actually do even if it were bug free."  - Greg Maxwell

Stop being duped. People are finally opening their eyes and Ethereum is dying.

eth wont die. BTC died many times. and is it dead now? only the price will correct to 10$ and then stay there. this is the reasonable price for ETH.

and if the price rises over 20$ again, then "everybody" will write: "ETH is the new BTC".....
BTC never died, it just tanked in price and it recovered.

With ETH you have a big, huge project that may blow up. BTC is much more solid, it's way harder to destroy, and way harder for some sort of fatal bug to happen. With ETH, you got a turing complete technology and that is opening a can of worms.
1307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we start new year in $800+ or remain in $700+ on: December 05, 2016, 03:12:14 PM
We have some stupid idiots taking profits right now because they are scared bitches and can't hold bitcoin without shaking, but the trend is clear, we are going to hit 800$ very, very soon, it's just a matter of time and when we cross 800$, sky will be the limit, so get read yo hold long term because next time it pumps really high we are not going to be able to predict how high it will go.
1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greg Maxwell aka /u/nullc is banned from Reddit on: December 05, 2016, 03:03:46 PM
https://www.reddit.com/user/nullc

Would like to gmaxwell's statement regarding this incident...

Damn I thought this was a clickbait thread, since I knew greg was banned a couple of days ago by the /r/btc trolls, but he is really banned from reddit at an account level? what the fuck happened? Im sure it has to do with /r/btc trolls looking at straws to ban him, since nullc was always schooling them in that shitty subreddit. I hope he can get his account recovered or comes back under another account.
1309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is dead, longlive Bitcoin on: December 05, 2016, 02:57:50 PM
I have heard a lot less news over the last few months about blockchain this and blockchain that,  for awhile every other day there was some bank or corporation spouting off about how they were using blockchain in some way.

Is it now time for Bitcoin to take centre stage again?

Well with the huge R3 consortium thing fiasco where more and more bank firms are jumping off the ship and are saying bye to it, I think it has been definitely a failure for the private blockchain camp. But make no mistake, they will keep fighting bitcoin, they will try to make bitcoin a centralized datacenter node mess, and they will not give up until they take control of bitcoin, so watch out.
1310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gradma knows about bitcoin. on: December 05, 2016, 02:51:41 PM
That's was pretty fun. I think the indian guy doesn't know what bitcoin is or at least that is how i interpreted it. But the grandma knew about bitcoin definitely when she mentioned it's untraceable, pretty surprising. It was hilarious when she said "and now there are apples". I hope that in the future we can see more and more people mentioning bitcoin randomly.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overestimating Ethereum's potential, underestimating its risks. RIP ethereum. on: November 28, 2016, 12:53:56 AM
It seems like all of Greg sentences was becoming a real statement.
Too many forks in his chain have made the people was feeling doubt about the future of eth. just a little gap until the next fork was coming, ETH has broken.
I'm already retiring from there.

Yeah I always trusted Greg Maxwell's take on the cryptos he talked about, it seems he may be right about ETH.. its too ambitious at a core level, it's just too dangerous to make a turing complete coin, because of all the unknowns that it may trigger ending up in a mess.

Bitcoin is way better, it isolates the core as a simpler and therefore more robust software, then build complex stuff around it (sidechains etc)
1312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does Zcash mean for Ethereum? on: November 27, 2016, 11:03:48 PM
I don't see how zcash relates to ethereum , its two different niches. With ethereum you have an attempt to create some sort of "gas" token to power smart contracts, with zcash you have a very niche currency that claims to be anonymous as it gets, yet it has the fatal flaw of having to trust the developers destroying the masterkey in some ridiculous ritual. Not sure about that.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best game/gaming related coins? on: November 27, 2016, 10:48:48 PM
I remember the game called www.battlecoin.org where you could play my favorite childhood game called bomberman vs up to 4 other people, real time multiplayer action and the winner of the match took all the coins, it was the best implementation ever of gaming with bitcoin but sadly it's abandoned now. I wish someone took this to the next level, there is a big untapped market there.
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: November 27, 2016, 10:43:18 PM
As the great satoshi nakamoto itself claimed, if bitcoin is still alive in 20 years, it will move tons of traffic or it will not move any traffic at all. So we will see what happens. Right now things are going pretty good no matter how much the block size debate may seem like a big mess for some, this is just part of the process.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scaling Bitcoin. Is consensus achievable? on: November 27, 2016, 10:22:48 PM
We will never achieve full consensus. We had a lot of discussion back in the internet days regarding how to scale the protocol and there was never a full consensus, but a majority went the TCP + layers route. Similarly, a majority will go with Core + layers route.
1316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wow ,almost 30,000 unconfirmed trans on: November 27, 2016, 10:17:24 PM
Let's just hope we can reach 95% eventually. I always thought it was too high, but now that it's set that way, I don't see how we can change it without creating a lot of controversy. Let's just wait and an the bitcoin unlimited/bitcoin.com morons will eventually run out of money to keep bribing miners into that shit and we will see 100%
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero is officially DEAD on: November 27, 2016, 03:38:06 PM
Monero still has a chance to shine if Bitcoin fails to deliver increased privacy. Like it or not, there will always be people in dark markets buying questionable shit... so there's a big market. As far as exchanges goes.. exchanges like Shapeshift under a VPN should provide sufficient privacy to exchange BTC for XMR.

In any case, not that I think XMR will be able to challenge a supercharged Bitcoin once we have sidechains, mimblewimble, confidential transactions and all of those.
1318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Friday, January 20, 2017, let's pay attention to that date on: November 27, 2016, 03:27:47 PM
Friday, January 20, 2017 is the date when the 45th american president will be ellected (Donald Trump). I think we are going to see some swings in the market just because of the importance of the date. It will not need for Trump to take any decisions, I think the mere fact of the hype of that date is already a disturbance generator in the market. My bet is that we might see a bitcoin pump and a dollar fail, if on immediately, maybe in 1 or two months when Trump starts taking the key decisions. We will see.

I have seen that usually the bitcoin price after new year does not pump so we may see a drop (if not a pump)

The dollar probably will drop a bit because it was dropped also when Trump won the elections so it will not be a surprise.

January 20 is days away from the psychological factor of the new years event. If there is a dip in the new years event, then this may solidify the theory of a pump after Trump gets elected since people will see a buying opportunity with this so called new years dip, which by the way no one can know if it will dip or pump.
1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can other cryptocurrency ovetake bitcoin inthe future? on: November 27, 2016, 03:24:59 PM
I think that even if some altcoin will get bigger adoption than BTC in rl, BTC will still remain the main currency fot trading...

Bitcoin will remain the currency f the internet no matter what. The government may come up with their own centralized attempts to make a cryptocurrency mainstream while remaining in total control of it all, but the internet is the wild wild west and people don't like to be controlled, therefore bitcoin will remain the decentralized freedom gateway for life.
1320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be fair to say no one actually uses any of these alts... on: November 27, 2016, 03:22:20 PM
Monero was supposed to be the end all be all solution for darknet marketplaces. I remember when the huge pump happened and it was all over the news... now months later, im still waiting to see that big adoption. Not that I go in those marketplaces but as far as I know, everyone buying shaddy stuff is still using bitcoin. Therefore I know no alts that get real usage.
