Lakers should start winning their games too as they are on the brink of being eliminated especially when the teams above them are the Trail Blazers, Jazz, and the Thunder. This kind of stats of AD is what they need 28 points, 10 rebounds, and only made 1 missed shot in the three-point lane. Put every play in the paint as much as he can.

They had a big win on LeBron's comeback, which is good for a start. Hopefully, they can build momentum from there. You're right, they really need to be more consistent now. A playoff spot is very important as it guarantees being part of the competition, whereas getting into the play-in is quite hard as they'll have to play a few games only to qualify.

LeBron was reported to have played with a foot injury. Hopefully, the rumors are not true because we need a healthy LeBron and of course, AD.

He has injury already, perhaps he doesn't want to miss games because of him chasing records. But now that he has surpassed Kareem, he has taken a days off but he is back again and leading the team.

I do agree that they have to start winning games before the All star break, because they will sink in the standings and might missed the chance for a playoff spot again. And it's going to be Lebron and AD going to anchor this Lakers team and then the new supporting cast.

Russell is providing the points that Westbrook was not able to provide. His consistency is very important, as LeBron cannot carry this team alone anymore. He came back to the Lakers with a mission, and this time he will be playing in the playoffs with a great chance, because LeBron and Davis are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

With Schroder also being a big factor, especially in the clutch, they already have a good second unit that could help boost the team's chances when LeBron and AD need to rest.
1302  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: February 16, 2023, 01:09:43 PM

It's going to be a big retest for us, because of we pass this test, then $30k is going to be easy, in my opinion.

So let's hope that the bulls are going to make a push for this month.

That's a big test for Bitcoin to break. It's not the current ATH, so I think it will not be hard to break that price as long as we are in a bullish mode already. We've seen Bitcoin dump in the past few days after it had a little bullish run, but now it's a new price, the highest this year already, so I would understand if it does excite us.

We can only hope that the bear market is over because, in the bull run, even if we were not able to accumulate during the bear market, I'm pretty sure that there are still plenty of opportunities to make money ahead.

1304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: February 16, 2023, 12:10:54 PM
Bitcoin is starting to show some bullish signs, having suddenly surged today and almost reaching the $25k mark. This is great news for the market, as it may convince the doubters to come back. The market has been bearish for a while now, but I believe that a bullish market will come as a surprise once again. Achieving a new all-time high is not an easy feat, but a bullish market can make it happen sooner.

Good times are ahead, so brace yourselves, guys. This may be the moment we've all been waiting for.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 15, 2023, 12:55:15 PM

Here are the results of my bets.
Toronto Raptors - Orlando Magic = Orlando Magic @ 3.40
- Lost. I thought that the Magic can steal one on the road. They manage to take the lead, but loss by double digits.
Milwaukee Bucks - Boston Celtics = Milwaukee Bucks (-7.5) @1.61
- Lost with this bet, but I put a bet during the game with the Bucks winning the game and I won so overall, I won with this game.

I was able to bet on these games, won the Raptors game while losing on the Bucks game. Didn't expect that Celtics will make it a very close game, they almost upset the home team but good thing the game went over, in the OT, it was still the Celtics who had an early lead, but the Bucks did come back to complete a win.

About the Raptors game, on paper, the Magic looks great because they have won their past games, but the actual, Raptors took control of the game in the 2nd half, won, and cover the spread too.

Well, that was a breathtaking game and you cannot honestly watch that kind of game every day where most of the bench players from the Celtics are playing but still almost defeated the home team which got their superstars playing with them. Giannis and Holiday need to step-up their game further because that game was almost close.
Holiday played very well in that game, he scored 40 points, it was probably his biggest output this season.
Maybe they are not so dominant because they miss the service of Middleton who I think was injured, or resting.

I see that we have lots of games again tomorrow, have you guys made yours? Well, here my early picks.

Indiana Pacers -2.5
Miami Heat -1
Boston Celtics -8

If there's a team that I would love to win, it should be the Pacers since they are in a losing streak and have only won 1 of their last 10 games.
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 15, 2023, 11:28:28 AM
TNT vs Blackwater is a high-scoring game with no defense on either team. They are just exchanging baskets, especially in the third quarter. However, TNT is still in control of the game, and I think it's hard for Blackwater to cover the spread with the way they are playing. Also, maybe this is the first time that the total scores combined will reach over 250.

Something that Blackwater can't afford, exchanging points and playing without defense TNT is more superior especially with the high percentage local scorer like Poguy, 40 points in this game better against their new import and playing without Castro. Moving forward, TNT is now the leading team from the current standing.
It's not surprising because TNT had early schedules this conference and they only lose once. Their 3 point shooting is very dangerous, especially with Pogoy and Williams shooting well, that would make TNT hard to beat.

Second game now with SMB against NP, high scoring game again almost end of 3rd and the score is over 200 now, the chance of reaching over 250 is still possible, good luck to mga kabayan!
4th should be the quarter for Northport if they still wants to win, and they cannot just rely on their import, they have to follow what SMB are doing, as SMB are getting some good minutes from their locals.
1307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: February 15, 2023, 10:04:54 AM
It is definitely sure though that someone will be knocked out. This fight might not go to a decision so I will be monitoring the odds on knockout rounds rather than just taking the win or loss which ain't profitable unless you are betting for the underdog.
Knock out rounds would be profitable if you think Tank can knock out Garcia, I think it would be in late rounds e.g. 7-9 rounds or 10-12 rounds. But for me personally it's really hard to see knock out in this match, so I will watch for the odds on winning method Tank via decision. It should be high because he's have a high KO rate. As long as Garcia isn't too careless and only want to hit Tank, he wouldn't get knocked out.
A KO is more likely to happen than this fight reaching a decision. Both fighters are KO artists, so what else can we expect? We've seen Ryan Garcia get knocked down before, and if I'm not mistaken, it was in the early rounds. So if Davis lands a punch that knocks him down this time, I don't think he'll be able to stay in the game for much longer.

The Tropang Giga will be bringing in a new import in former NBA player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to take the place of the high-scoring Jalen Hudson.

I mean TNT is performing very good with him as an import, but it has stated in the article that they need an import that can also play at the paint and bigger than him. Hudson is a scorer and his frame is a bit small compare to others, thus they needed to change their import.

I would say that it's a good move for TNT if they want to match up with the big guns of SMB teams like Fajardo. As we have seen with Hudson, though he is a good import but not that good compared to Brownlee that can score whenever he wants, he can score but can be defended/contained by a local player like Chris Ross and when that happened who can they go to if they want a point in a crucial period.

I think the problem with TNT's import is the defense, he is an explosive scorer but the TNT does not need that much since they have plenty of scorers, they need an import who can defense since Erram is still out and therefore their interior defense is not that good. PBA is now getting more competitive in getting imports as they can already get imports with experience playing in NBA.

Quote
Speaking of TNT, they have a game tomorrow against Blackwater Bossing with a very high spread which i think they will have a hard time covering so with that i'm going to bet for Blackwater +11.5 @2.0.
TNT should dominate here, I hope they can minimize the production of Blackwater's import as he is a good import also. Last time he scored 40 points, and over 50+ on his debut.

@boltz, nothing is easy in NBA, parlay is the hardest to win even if you will pick the heavy favorites to win. Just have some fun with parlay, don't focus too much on that, maybe you can bet on one bet per game, and I'm sure your chance to win will increase.

It's very frustrating if we put a decent amount in our parlay bet and the games that we thought would easily hit will lose. Been there dude, so I decided to calm down a bit on parlay bets.
1311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: February 13, 2023, 09:02:51 PM
I read that Ryan Garcia is solving the supposedly rematch clause and who is supposedly had controls, say why not go for all or nothing? Winner takes everything, no rematch whatsoever.

That is a daring, but it's business, I doubt that Al Haymon or even his own boxing manager will allow that to happen.

They will just have to meet in the middle ground so that both parties can make money in this big fight.

It's not easy as it sounds, and Ryan knows that, maybe what he is trying to imply is that he is ready to fight Davis what ever the stakes are. And if this fight boggles down (hopefully not), all fingers are going to point to the camp of Tank Davis and Al Haymon.

It might be really hard to work a arrangement with that camp, but there are still hope that this fight can be salvage. It's ok for us to have the fight move because they are in a deadlock right now, as long as this is going to happen whether June or onwards.

Ryan is the one who's very vocal fighting Davis so in terms of adjustment he's the one who needs to do everything to make the fight happens,
whatever it takes he and his camp needs to adjust.

It's really something that he can still make things happen and it a proper adjustment that they can deal with, the fight can be negotiated
and can be a close deal contract fight.

Even it can be move, fans will continue to chase for this fight.

He should make this fight happen, in his 7 years in boxing he hasn't proven anything but just being an Instagram superstar with no legit title to his credit and the only well-known fighter he has fought was Campbell, some of his contemporaries are already champions he should at least win one World title to make him a legit boxer, he is not on a great boxer level yet and this fight with Tank will catapult him to greatness and it is also this fight that could possibly sink his career.

But I guess that path won't come easy for him and become a world title champion because he got to defeat Tank Davis first for the interim belt and then defeat the unified champion, Devin Haney to have the regular world title which I think is quite impossible for now as Devin Haney is quite advanced compared to Ryan Garcia that lacks experience and exposure.

I think that is also the reason why Ryan Garcia moved to 140 because 135 is quite packed right now unlike in super-light. Either way, it's time for Garcia to face a much bigger challenges this time.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 13, 2023, 09:53:32 AM
It looks like Vargas won't be moving up in weight division soon.  So it is interesting to see the outcome of the fight between Magsayo and Figueroa if Vargas will accept the winner of the fight as challenger.

No need to think if Rey Vargas will accept the winner of the Magsayo vs. Figueroa bout as a challenger because whether he likes it or not, it will be a mandatory fight for him to fight an interim champion. A mandatory title defense is really the next thing he will be assigned if he loses to Foster.
yups as He has no chance of deciding not until he made His own name in boxing and take to the higher tier , but in his standing and position now? he will face whoever the promotion tells him.

I guess that is not the case because even if the specific boxer manages to carve his name in the industry and has managed to be the unified champion, that same boxer still have to fight someone who got the Interim belts of his regular belts. It's designed that way to prevent champions pick their own fight once they got the titles, there will be always a mandatory fight every now and then that will be given to them.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 12, 2023, 09:26:02 PM
About the weight division, it is really a surprise that Thurman agreed to the demand of Spence to fight in Junior Middleweight[1] when the World Boxing council ordered Errol Spence Jr. to defend the title against Thurman[2].  I wonder what drives Thurman to accept the fight in that division.

From my point of view, Keith Thurman is really one of the possible boxers that Errol Spence might fight next, but on 147.

Since Spence considered moving up at 154 and Thurman as well, they decide instead to let the fight happen at 154 instead.

Anyways, their fight at 154 is a "NON-TITLE" bout and just about money-making lol.

Safer for Spence because he is not risking his belt, but this should be a great fight because I'm pretty sure that Thurman is not the same as Ugas whom Spence has easily dispose. Thurman will be looking for a shot to beat an popular boxer because that would put him at the top which is his goal on his return.

Yup, not the same with Ugas where Spence completely dominated the fight, unless Thurman is no longer the same I mean
if Thurman does not adjust with the way Spence will take him

But I'm also positive that Thurman will give Spence a fight that he aren't going to dictate the tempo or the direction.

It will be a tough one for Spence, an expected toe-to-toe encounter between these two great fighters.

As for Thurman agreeing to fight Spence at 154 lbs., I don't know what is the real reason behind because he could've refuse because that wasn't the order but he did not. That made me think that he needs Spence to climb the ladder again as he might have the first chance to grab and fight if ever Spence will suddenly vacate all his belts at 147 lbs.

As for the fight, Thurman surely studied Spence well as it's the latter who got more fights recently where he showed how dominant he is specially his last fight when he made Ugas's face like a punching bag that looks heavily deformed.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 12, 2023, 09:07:22 PM
Without doubt if Fulton could beat Inoue that would be a huge upset and will give Fulton a great deal of the credibility and the respect that he is looking for, however after reading the interview it seems to me that he is too fixated on the fans and who they support, fans like who they like, I am not from the Philippines and yet I never missed a fight of Pacquiao so his arguments ring hollow to me, if he wants to be a superstar then he needs to prove he is one and he has the perfect opportunity against Inoue to do so.

I agree, many boxing fans are expecting that Inoue can knockdown Fulton.  IF Inoue lost against Fulton, Fulton will definitely get a huge respect from the crowds and the thought of Inoue's power will then be takes as limited to the bantamweight only.

Though I am still thinking that Inoue is still at disadvantage here since this is a new division for him and he hasn't tested the waters yet he is scheduled his first fight against a champion.  I think it is too rush for Inoue's camp to fight a champion without testing the power of the super bantamweight boxers.
Inoue is taking a risk, there is little doubt in my mind this is the case, and we have a very recent example with Canelo, Canelo has a huge punching power on his division, but as soon as he moved up and fought against Bivol his punching power became trivial and Bivol dominated him clearly, now I think of Inoue as a better fighter than Canelo so it is likely he can overcome this, so it is a risk to fight a champion right away but even then I still think he can win.

Yes, I understand you mate but that's what boxing is, it's all about risk because even if we're talking about a heavy favorite who's chance to get defeated is slight, it is still not guaranteed that what we thought will always be the outcome just because of the stated fact. Just like this one, Inoue is taking a risk, big risk means big reward but Fulton got more risk as he got more belts to offer while Inoue got none. But unlike Canelo and Bivol, the weight difference between bantam to super-bantam (4 lbs) and super-middle to LHW (7 lbs) is not the same and one more thing, Bivol got the height and reach advantage as Canelo is somewhat smaller against the natural LHWs.
1315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 12, 2023, 08:02:17 PM
We’ll find out right after the all star break. Most of the analysts seem to agree that it will be Craig. It was nice to see Booker back in action tonight against the Pacers. He helped them get the win with a pretty balanced scoring night from Booker/Ayton/Paul. They might already be making an effort to share the ball more evenly to set an example for when KD hits the court. It’ll be interesting to see the shot distribution.
Regarding the All-Star, have you sniffed some news about what will happen since Kyrie and KD were traded to the West? Will there be changes in the roster or will it just be the same as Lebron and Giannis will pick their own roster? I am just curious.  Cheesy

I guess it will all be an isolation play when they hand KD the ball and Booker will be on the play style with Ayton and CP3. There will be a lot of adjustments that they need to polish as this will be the first they will have two assassins in both mid-range and outside shots. Will be looking forward at seeing them rotating the ball more.

Probably it will be the same I reckon, the All Star should not be affected by the trade and what is going on with some players moving from East to West or vice versa. It has been written way before the trade deadline so it should be all set already.

For sure there will be a lot of adjustments, again, we can go back and hopefully Booker will learn from Curry on how he led KD to his thing with Golden State and still remain as the leader of the team.

Booker should be the leader here because he is the franchise player, but he has to make sure that chemistry will exist as that's the only way that will give them a chance in the NBA Finals. They have been in the playoffs many times but Booker sometimes are not consistent because he is checked easily by their opponents, now that they have Durant who are a monster in scoring, they should be very unpredictable comes the playoffs.

Yes, he should. Kevin Durant will be the one who will have a big adjustment because he is the one who transferred and he asked for this too that he should be traded to the Phoenix Suns and now that he is already transferred, I hope he will give the team what they expected from him because just like the Nets, the Suns sacrificed a lot for this trade too. Either way, all of them will adjust so that they will find that rhythm. I'm just glad for CP3 because now he got more choices and can focus more in laying up the table for the team.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 12, 2023, 10:36:01 AM
Just look at how distribute the offense of the Magic are. 6 players in double-digits. I believe that when this is the kind of offense a team has, they're very hard to stop because you don't know who you will be focusing with. Quite unfortunate that they lost to the Heat on their home, but it's a close one and I thought that they will win against them again. Anyway, I'll try to bet again on the Magic depending on their opponent/s.
Magic is a good team this season, so I will not regret backing them every time they'll play.

Well, they lose against the Heat, but it was a close game, they were actually leading, they just have some mistakes that they need to learn to be a matured team. It's a young team but they are competing at a highest level. Anyhow, congratulations to the backers of the heat, they won and cover.

No doubt about that. I'm also seeing some good improvement about their roster since the season started and given the fact that most of the players are young and inexperienced, they are quite good already and giving a hard time to the teams they are facing.

And while they face the Heats earlier, it's evident that they indeed lack the experience because when it comes to crucial and intense moments, they tend to make some mistakes and that makes them vulnerable, and which is why the Heat defeated them in the last minutes. But overall, they are already impressive for me, those mistakes they did will make them stronger next season.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 12, 2023, 10:15:36 AM
Indeed, if he mange to win his upcoming fight, automatically the winner of Magsayo and Figueroa's fight will be declared as new title holder from that said division,

It's not automatic given there's another scenario.

The winner between Mark Magsayo and Brandon Figueroa will only be elevated from interim to regular champion if Vargas decides to move up if he wins against Foster. If Vargas loses, he will need to mandatory defend his 126 titles against the winner between Magsayo and Figueroa.

But for me, I'd rather see Vargas wins this match and move forward on achieving multiple titles per division.

If I'm not mistaken, it will be Vargas' 4th title division champion if he wins against Foster.

I guess that leads to the same thing mate as @Fredomago also stated above that "if he (Vargas) manage to win his upcoming fight" that would also mean that the winner of Figueroa-Magsayo fight will be declared as the regular champion and not as Interim champion, so somehow that's quite automatic as long as Vargas will conquer Foster successfully.

Not happening, Foster won against Vargas, it went to the judges scorecard: Tim Cheatham (117-111), Alejandro Rochin (119-109) and David Sutherland (116-112).

So it was a mastery from Foster and I think this is how you beat a brawler like Vargas, combination of slick defense, orthodox stance, which might have confused Vargas in the beginning.

And Foster has outlanded Vargas in every category to win his first title.

Vargas though remain a champion, WBC featherweight and most likely he will go down again. Making the Magsayo vs Figueroa a very interesting fight because if Vargas will defend his belt, it could be either of this two.

Congratulations to Foster he proved most of us wrong.

Well, it's good news if Vargas will be able to fight the winner of the Magsayo vs Figueroa fight, and if Magsayo will win, I'm pretty sure he'll agree with a rematch on Vargas, and that way he will be able to prove that he is the better fighter, of course, he'll not win if he will not make the right adjustment, I think now that Vargas is not anymore undefeated, Magsayo can study on how Foster defeated Vargas, and just duplicate the performance.

I guess so but other than that, I think we are just too focused about the Magsayo vs Figueroa fight without seeing Vargas's chances against his opponent, Foster, who defeated him this day via unanimous decision. In that case, Vargas has nowhere to go but to wait for the winner again and then defend his title because even if he won't give Figueroa a chance or Magsayo a rematch, time will come that the WBC will give a mandatory fight.

That is a daring, but it's business, I doubt that Al Haymon or even his own boxing manager will allow that to happen.

Here is the article about that
https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-tank-no-rematch-clause-winner-takes-all-coward-stop-staying-quiet-behind-haymon--172359

Quote
De La Hoya said "It's only fair if Ryan wins, then our side controls everything as the A-side. This is just the way it always has been. ... It's common sense that whoever wins is the A-side. That's the bottom line. We're not reinventing the wheel here

Dela Hoya has a point if they win the rematch condition should be in their control this has been the way, but it seems Top Rank still wants the ball in their way, if the match is close and exciting there should be a rematch for the benefit of the boxing community, great boxers and great boxing always have a rematch.
I hope they agree on these rematch terms, it's surprising that the easiest to deal with could become the hindrance to this match.

You mean Al Haymon of PBC? Yes, that is already common sense as that was also happened in the fights where there is a rematch clause included in the contract. Of course, the winning boxer will have the favor to be in the A-side as he earned it. This Al Haymon is just messing things up that was once already established, I don't where he is heading at anymore because his fighters will be unfortunate as well because they are dragged by his nonsense.
1319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: February 11, 2023, 09:55:31 PM
I am one of those people who believe children should concentrate on having fun and enjoying life at their young age... we should not burden them with the worries of money, because there are enough time for them to "make" money when they are older.

Now, that said.... there is nothing wrong with you talking to them and teaching them to be disciplined when it comes to the spending part of it.. but do not go into too much detail, because it is too early.  Tongue
I'm also one of you who still believes in not educating kids on bitcoin education at such a young age and not focusing on enjoying life. Children have a certain period of time during which they should not be over-stressed. If any extra pressure is given to them during this time, they will be reluctant to study at an early age. After a certain age they can be educated in bitcoin education. Then maybe educating them on bitcoin education will help them understand more and bring much good for themselves.

I couldn't agree more. There is indeed a correct time and phase for our child to know about the reality of the world, and whether we like or not, they will grow and they will always do and our duty is to prepare them for the harsh reality, and that also includes teaching them what is bitcoin and what can it do to our lives, and of course, it's fundamentals. But for starters, just let the child/children live their own ways and let them enjoy the world under our protection because when they grow older, their habit will also change and starts to adapt to the real world.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 11, 2023, 09:23:37 PM
Now, this rematch though may not happen if Vargas will make a climb to the next weight class.

Aside from moving up weight, if Rey Vargas will win his upcoming fight, no chance for a rematch with Magsayo at 126 for a title match.

If he loses instead, he's still holding the WBC Featherweight Title and will mandatorily face the winner between Mark Magsayo and Brandon Figueroa.

But it seems that Mark Magsayo is not really looking forward to a rematch against Rey Vargas but instead will just go with the flow on whoever is assigned as his opponent and will focus there. I do hope that his aggressiveness to get that title again will have the same intensity as when he first grabbed it from Gary Russell Jr. or even much better.

Wait, help me understand about this mate because I'm in the middle of confusion here. If Vargas will get defeated on his upcoming fight which is 2 days from now, why would he still be carrying the WBC title? His fight with Foster is a title defense fight, so if he will lose, then Foster will get it right? And Foster will fight the winner of Magsayo vs Figueroa.

Or did I miss something? Huh

WBC 130lbs or the Super Featherweight title is vacant at the moment so Rey Vargas and Foster will be fighting for it in the next few days. If Vargaz will win that fight there's a chance that he won't be moving south in weight anymore as he will be campaigning in that 130lbs division so with that the winner of Magsayo vs Figueroa will be declared the champion of the 126lbs division.

If Magsayo will be the winner, no rematch in the featherweight division for Vargas and the Filipino slugger as they are now both holding a title in a different division.

Or unless they both agree that they are willing to risk the belts just to have the rematch, maybe if money will talk and they
already holding both belts from that different divisions.

It still possible that these two fighters will have their rematch and fans will have that chance to see them both inside the ring.

It will be in the hands of the promoters to make things happen.

I guess a rematch between Magsayo and Vargas will be quite impossible to happen if both boxers are already holding their own respective belts in their respective weight class. Why? There's a good chance that neither one of them is willing to take the jump or put their belts on the line as in the first place, a rivalry was never established between these two boxers and that means a money fight is somehow impossible too. They will have their own separate ways and fighting opponents in separate divisions.
