The same situation was already there some time ago. Can you leave him alone for some time? Jesus, that's terrible! (yes, I know, I have some assets on bitfunder, some btc on weexchange etc... so you don't have to tell me the same sh*t again...)

Same here, 3.2 BTC in limbo due to forced buyback on BF => forced xfer to WeEx.

I must say I had more than 100 BTC on inputs.io / CoinLenders at some point, so it could have ended up much worse.

I thought that I'd made the biggest loss of my BTC securities trader's life after buying BASIC-MINING at 0.7 (post-split) and selling off under 0.2. Then I realized that this 71% loss would have been 100% if creativex never shows up again (I'd still like to know what happened to him for what it's worth), and probably 9x% at best outcome if he comes back (after liquidating).

Should I mention LABCOIN? Naaaah....

I'm just too noob for the Pirateat40 and GLBSE shit, I guess some here still have the taste in their mouth Grin

Wonderful Bitcoin World...

tl;dr: keeping your savings on online wallets = FAIL

Hobo? Was going to ask if that was an Americanism but looked it up  Grin

HoboNickels (HBN) maybe? I've seen it on the list of Cryptsy altcoin...

Man I wish I had been mining bitcoin back then instead of running folding@home! I could have been rich!

Same here Cheesy

Take the 2 7850 if you can afford both, or just one if you can't, as your budget seem to indicate. Then I'd go for the cheapest one as it seems the one with the best specs. And if you consider more hashrate I'd consider the 7950 instead of course.

With two 7850's what kind of power supply do you recommend? I was trying to calculate it earlier and I am getting around 400w would that be right?

Yes I would say minimum 500W, 600W would be better, to avoid issues when your CPU runs at 100% or stuff like this.

Also, they generally have enough PCI-e 6/8 pin connectors.

5970 are old but still good cards (for both games and mining), and they are rare and/or pricy on the 2nd hand market Sad

Yea but they all go for $350 ~
I can just about get two 7850's for that price.

Yes, but keep in mind that 2 cards will "cost" you 2 PCI-e slots (i.e. CPU, MB, RAM, HDD etc "shared" rig costs)

Long term holders FTW Wink

If I where to get a 7850 or two which one would you recommend? I am trying to make this a really cheap build considering it's just a hobby Tongue

2GB gigabyte OC 7850 ($190)
2GB PowerColor 7850 ($170)

Any more specific differences in core (engine) and memory clocks between these two?

If you want it cheap just go for the cheaper one, the differences should be tight Wink
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What card should I get? (GPU) on: December 13, 2013, 12:53:16 AM
My experience is that 7950 are the best value (purchase and hash/W)

One 7950 GPU will get you between 500 and 550 khash/sec in scrypt, maybe 600 with extra tweaking and proper cooling.

One 7850 GPU will get you between 350 and 400 khash/sec in scrypt

I would expect ROI in roughly 6-8 months depending on the evolution of difficulty and exchange rate, and your electricity costs.

If alt coins or Litecoin fails (but I don't believe it will), you might never get ROI, just keep it in mind.

Don't panic guys... it'll probably be okay in a few hours at most.

EDIT: it works again, after a few... seconds! Magic Cheesy

Bitcoiners have been Goxed too many times, presumably, yes, they are moving to better exchanges indeed.

I believe Gox is still a trend setter to some extent for the exchange rate, though.

Up to nearly 100,000 viewers. Congrats guys!

Congrats to you for creating the useful guide Smiley

Much better than the flyer manual (no longer?) provided with the Blades.

Everyone at Neo & Bee are now involved in this resolution process.
Does that include the janitor?

Looks like janitor is the man in charge!

That works for me too, if the janitor can refund us Cheesy

If they are no longer produced, and Bitcoin takes on in the forthcoming years, the USB Erupter and Blades might become collector items Grin

I think you have a great program given that its far exceeding everything else, but some beginner instructions would be great!
I tried cgeasy with one pool, and it didnt work, but switched to d2 pool and its working now. I have a radeon r9 280x and I am getting only avg 12.24 KH/s, with these settings:
color 57
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool2.d2.cc:3335 -u N[e]wBie.1 -p mypassword --shaders 2048 --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2  --gpu-powertune 20

Using 13.1 drivers from catalyst.  Is there anything wrong with this ? I will investigate, I appreciate the help. Thanks!

Unfortunately scrypt and GPU support altogether has been removed from CGMiner starting 3.8.x, as CK only wants to focus on Bitcoin now.

If you want to run it with an older version (up to 3.7.x I think), try without --shaders and -g first, and start with an intensity of 11 or 12 (to avoid HW errors), then start increasing and adding tweaks. I have bought a new R9 280X yesterday and I'm only getting about 610 khash/s instead of 750 right now, it still need tweaking. For some cards (especially the high end ones like 79xx) it took me hours to get anywhere near the maximum scrypt hash rate, while SHA256d was super easy.

Hello, I had a question if you don't mind. (or anyone else) Smiley

I've types in the below but I seem to get an error. Am I doing this right?

C:\miner\mining_proxy.exe -o stratum.bitcoin.cz -p 3333 -gp 8332

C:\miner\mining_proxy.exe -o eu-stratum.btcguild.com -p 3333 -gp 8333

A deprecation error? I'm new to this stuff, slowly getting my head around it all.

The syntax seems correct, you should paste the error by copying it from cmd.exe, use the app menu (upper left corner on the icon) to select (mark) the error text and hit Enter to copy, then paste here.
