valid reason hardware is not software, the brainless idiot who moved my post effectively turned my efforts into a wasted effort, it is personal especially when my post being moved, makes me look as dumb as the idiot who moved it when im not that dumb, granted i dont do my self many favours but as stated when annoyed why should i articulate my rantings, i have been offended by the brainless idiots who simple chose not to differentiate between hardware and software, the world is doomed while brainless idiots are alive and influencing other people Sad
This is an appeal to emotion at its finest. You're talking about a experienced moderator who has been here for a while now. If you truly think that mprep does not know the difference between hardware and software, then I have no further comments.

You can always ask the global moderators to take a second look, but I doubt that will change anything.
13022  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 19, 2016, 01:25:27 PM
The trust list needs to go. To easy to scam using it.
It isn't. It has been working quite decently. If you get scammed it is usually the users fault (not always obviously).

Is there any plans to disable the faulty trust system?
Unless somebody presents a better system than what we have today, no.
13023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2MB Pros and Cons on: March 19, 2016, 01:23:05 PM
You're better of being fed information directly into your brain from Trump than reading a forum like that one. Those people there are really horrible and I don't tend to say such things without a basis. I'm talking out of experience as somebody that I know tried to clarify something on that forum. It is just a waste of time.

users & wallets that do not implement segwit and receive funds from a segwit TX will end up with unspendable funds.
Who came up with this nonsense? I've never heard of this before. Segwit is far superior than a 2 MB block size limit in all aspects aside from complexity. People are really being hyperbolic about this complexity though, mostly because their knowledge is lacking; quite unfortunate.
13024  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 19, 2016, 01:16:32 PM
I am not currently accusing Vod of trust abuse (against me personally anyway), understand? He IN THE PAST had abused the trust system against me and was forced by BadBear to remove his negative rating or be excluded by him
Okay, so he may or may have not abused trust in some point of time. Why are you rambling on about his posting behavior (current) then? I don't see this as an abuse of anything. You are allowed to post pretty much anything as long as it doesn't break the rules. Anyone could follow you around and try to insult you/troll you or whatever. Additionally, if he really did abuse his position I think he would have been removed by now. He might overreact sometimes, but you're all humans.

Update: Your posts are redundantly long and thus points can be missed easily. So I was right, mentioning his posting habits has no relevance.
13025  Other / Meta / Re: this site is a joke and not evenb a funny one, sort your mods out, educate them on: March 19, 2016, 01:12:18 PM
I am surprised they didn't just ban you OP
You don't get banned for complaining.

Technically your not going to win.. they have mod powers & we don't.
Depends on who is right. Moderators are human, thus they can be wrong.

I also think when you started this you were trying to make it seem like it was personal against you ?
It never is.

idiots still not reading or learning, hardware and software are 2 very different things im sorry to inform you all, please grow brains
Thank you captain obvious. Roll Eyes Instead of calling people idiots, try finding true arguments as to why your thread is misplaced.
13026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will only go properly mainstream if ...... on: March 19, 2016, 10:13:58 AM
we start tracking down all these people moving it around and find out *** they are doing with it..
Definitely disagree unless you are talking about tracking down criminals only.

Bitcoins are already heading towards the direction of Mainstream.
It is far away from being mainstream. I have no idea why some people tend to think that it is already mainstream.

bitcoin will go mainstream eventually no matter what. all of these are just ways to speed up the process.
You can't possibly know that; please refrain from making such ridiculous statements.

Governments will definitely incorporate some sort of digital currency with possibly the block chain technology behind it, but won't be Bitcoin. Bitcoin offers the people too much freedom. That's something they don't like.
The problem is actually not the government but the people themselves. They either 1) Don't realize what is going on; 2) Don't bother doing anything about it. I'm still not sure which case is worse.
13027  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 19, 2016, 10:02:02 AM
Now I know for a fact you aren't even reading anything here before posting, just coming here to go "bla bla bla drama".
1) You can't possibly know this 'as a fact'.
2) This is not the case. This thread has been on my watch list for a long time now, however you can't expect me to remember 28 pages of nonsense either.
3) I asked for concrete examples because of number 2.

My latest post in this thread was just to have a public record that as a result of being forced to stand down by BadBear, he has a grudge and is now stalking me by following me to my other threads, posting off topic, and just plain making shit up about me.
Do you know the meaning of the words "trust abuse"? Following you around the forum and posting in the same threads is "trust abuse" in your world?  Roll Eyes
13028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Cash or Settlement Layer? on: March 19, 2016, 09:57:23 AM
I prefer it to be a peer to peer cash IMO, that's more close to the current bitcoin system and it's very idea IMO.
People keep saying that yet nobody provided a single definition of P2P Cash. I'm still waiting for a clear definition so that discussing would make sense.

We should be able to come up with a reasonable platform that can do both without jeopardizing security, or usability. Its just a matter of getting the right minds working on it, and time. This is going to take time to create.
We already have a platform, that's the issue. You can't fundamentally re-engineer Bitcoin from scratch anymore.

I think it will end up as a settlement layer with other better faster tokens taking the currency role.
You can't really know that.
13029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why decentralization and resiliency is most important... on: March 19, 2016, 09:05:01 AM
my opinion: raise the blocksize a little bit and then build everything else on top of it.
That's the most likely outcome that the debate is going to have.

they even used the Bolivarian Intelligence Service for find these innocent guys  Lips sealed
They seem to be focusing on the important problems in their country.

what? can they just arrest the miners only because they have miners?
You can arrest anyone for anything in corrupt countries.

13030  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 19, 2016, 08:59:44 AM
Actually he's pretty much on a thin line on DT 2, apparently HostFat disagrees with the ratings he gives out. But well, he's doing a good job
So what if he disagrees with those?

I know no one gives a fuck about harassment on this forum, so please refrain from the no one gives a fuck comments, trust me I am well aware this forum is a shithole with no one willing to stand for anything unless it serves them personally.
See, this is completely wrong. I definitely did not post because a "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Trust is not moderated and there's only so much that can be done. However, I usually don't post in conflicts and just watch them from a distance. If there were clear examples of trust abuse, I'd like to see them.

P.S. Are you sure you don't want to post a xkcd comic for the thousandth time about this before you go?
Unfortunately, it doesn't fit.

You mean like Techshare was?
Maybe.

13031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: March 19, 2016, 02:14:45 AM
So the "nothing but Core with a 2MB block change" classic party line is turning into a load of total BS.
It is, and always was, all about politics.
It was always a power grab and nothing more. It seems like Gavin misses the old days when he was in charge. This reminds me of XT, slipping in features without actually discussing them and falsely promoting the implementation. Meanwhile, Core is actually doing something useful (BIP 9 just got merged).

Next feature to be coded into Classic will be a button saying "give all your coins to NSA".
Where are my 20 MB urgent blocks from 2015?  Roll Eyes

This topic has been moved to Trashcan.
Reason: Duplicate.
13033  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 18, 2016, 05:12:17 PM
Why is this thread still alive? If there were clear examples of trust abuse he would be removed from his position. You need to complain to everyone, but rather complain to the person from DT1 who has Vod on his list. I don't see a reason for the removal though. Seems like some people just can't go on without drama.
13034  Other / Meta / Re: this site is a joke and not evenb a funny one, sort your mods out, educate them on: March 18, 2016, 04:51:09 PM
I don't see a single valid reason from OP. This seems like a big appeal to emotion which I dislike. The thread is in the right place now (Altcoin). Rather than complaining, prove me wrong OP (with valid arguments).

The moderation is pretty consistent and a moderator would not move your thread unless they were sure of where it belongs.
13035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Cash or Settlement Layer? on: March 18, 2016, 03:59:14 PM
Sure... but I don't want to constrain or bias the poll by limiting it to my own definition. Other people will probably disagree...
You aren't doing that at all. If people disagree with it then it can be discussed. Just share it and let's see. Keep in mind that answering all three questions would be very helpful.
13036  Other / New forum software / Re: New forum? on: March 18, 2016, 03:56:27 PM
Theymos has set and blown multiple self-imposed deadlines, see end his [moved to /archived/, lol] reply.
Those were deadlines, those were estimates (IIRC). There's a clear difference between those two.

-snip-
It might be best to just ignore the troll. You're feeding him and you should know how that usually goes.
13037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Cash or Settlement Layer? on: March 18, 2016, 03:55:01 PM
Well...  I don't want to be dismissive... but that is definitely not what I mean.
I've already told you that if you want a definite answer that you'd have to provide a definition. What exactly is P2P cash? What features does it have? How does it compare to a settlement layer? Once we have answers to those, then we might be able to come to some sort of conclusion.
13038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Cash or Settlement Layer? on: March 18, 2016, 03:52:50 PM
Currently txs are on average 250 bytes... but let's say that we can somehow get that down to 100 bytes... (I've see discussion on several ways of doing this).
This is where it all starts being flawed. That's not the average transaction size, not even close. Source.
Quote
In particular, the average transaction size has increased from 450 bytes in Jan 2013 to almost 600 bytes in Oct 2015

What would be the big tech constraint in 2020 preventing 14MB blocks?
I can't answer this as your calculations are flawed due to using a wrong average. If you re-do them, then we might be able to talk about it.

13039  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 million for 1 bitcoin.Here is how on: March 18, 2016, 12:50:16 PM
or when the dollar crashes
Well, if the dollar crashes you're going to have a lot more problems to worry about than the price of Bitcoin. However, it might reach a high value in comparison to the dollar but that does not mean that it would have a high purchasing power (due to the crash).

I think if some oil producing nation start accepting bitcoins for exporting oil than Bitcoin price can shoot to $1 million..
I don't see this happening in the foreseeable future.
13040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain size - problem ? on: March 18, 2016, 12:27:56 PM
You will never get a well recognized coin when you start over from start everytime large part of comunity disagrees with some feature and preffer new altcoin over compromise and continue with just Bitcoin.
Exactly. It seems that some people tend to think that if Bitcoin "fails" for whatever reason that an altcoin is going to take over. However, this is most likely going to end bad for everyone. If Bitcoin collapses, it is likely that everyone will jump ship.

There can be competing Bitcoin implementations with diferent features or even hardfork proposals, and free market decides what defines Bitcoin. This way you know you can trust Bitcoin evolves and stay as #1 cryptocurrency choice and not fragment to many altcoins or become obsolete, so whoever can compromise and respect others as well can continue using just Bitcoin, others can just switch to tens/hundreds of altcoins.
If there was a standard for those hard fork proposals, then that would make sense. However, if you start wanting to fragment the community with randomly set percentages and grace periods, then it will end badly.
