13061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friend had a strange idea on: March 29, 2016, 07:12:13 AM
You will just render the fiat note unusable by doing this. Some merchants will not accept it as payment method because it is stained with ink. They use that as a reason not to accept fiat money, because when they take it to the banks, the banks are full of nonsense. Ink stained notes are usually associated with armed robberies and people <merchants> are told not to accept these notes for payment. Those ink packs are used to render the money useless that are stolen during these robberies. ^hmmmmm^
13062  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to (seriously) earn Bitcoins for dummies. on: March 29, 2016, 06:41:29 AM
The best way to earn Bitcoins will still be to get paid in Bitcoin for the work you do or to buy when the price is low and to sell when it is high. The trading the OP suggested is too complex for the average Dummies out there and a poorly configured bot can actually cause you to lose a lot of money. The faucets is only a good options, when you do not have to solve a single Captha, but has built up a huge referral network and they generate the income for you. You might even start your own faucet from a pre-configured script, but I would advice against that, if you not a seasoned programmer. ^hmmmm^
13063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese bitcoin spot exchanges OKCoin and Huobi are faking most trading volume on: March 29, 2016, 06:29:28 AM
This is why sites like Preev.com excludes them from determining the average Bitcoin price. They use sources like, Bitfinex & Bitstamp & BTC-E. It is known that Chinese exchanges are manipulating the trade volumes and people do not take them seriously anymore, or should I rather say they are ignoring this on purpose. Things like this happens in countries where regulation is not in place to restrict these actions or to make it a criminal offense. Just do what the other people do, and write them off as a credible source for any exchange related statistics. ^smile^
13064  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2016, 06:20:23 AM
It is a very tricky question. Gold and bitcoin is two different things and has their own distinct properties.

Gold is not always an investment to many people. People use gold for making ornaments also. Whereas bitcoin is purely a currency which is used for investment and savings.

Gold has a long reputation and known by entire human population whereas bitcoin knowledge is limited only to tech-savy people.

Countries use the gold as a backup of the fiat currency. So Gold is certainly more valuable and profitable than Bitcoin. At least for me.

Gold is not that much different than Bitcoin. Both are mined and are scares and in limited quantities. Bitcoin was built to simulate the same function as gold, but just to be better and in a digital form. I think the people have a false sense of security, if they think gold is a good store of value. The governments have a paper trail to every large gold purchase that was done and who owns that gold, so they can start to confiscate gold, if they wanted to. This is turning out to be a interesting topic to debate, and we should consider if gold has the value we applied to it.
13065  Economy / Gambling / Re: From faucet to smoething? on: March 24, 2016, 07:29:10 AM
I know the old MoneyPot gave out some good faucet payouts, I normally used it to gamble in the beginning, but almost always lost all of it. If it is not your own money, you tend to take bigger risk than normal. I always tried to see how much I can accumulate from their payouts to see if I can make a profit from it, but I was never successful. The faucet income is a good way to gamble, if you are short on cash and also a fun addition to a gambling site.

Other sites implement free game play or test tokens for the same purpose, but I enjoy faucets more. ^smile^
13066  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [NSFW] Bitcoin accepted Porn Site are cheaper on: March 24, 2016, 07:17:06 AM
I doubt that it is cheaper than any other websites out there, because the operators absorb most of the saving they get from fees and do not pay it forward to the clients in offering cheaper rates. It would have been great if they did a comparison somewhere to proof this statement. It would attract a lot more people using these services. They could offer discount to people paying with Bitcoin. This will only work, if the site accepts multiple other payment methods too. < If I paid with say, CC and I see someone else using the same sites, and paying less with Bitcoin, I would start using it too to cash in on those discounts >

Hope to see this happen on some sites soon, let's push adoption with Bitcoin discounts. ^smile^
13067  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC would be even more valuable if some things are solved on: March 24, 2016, 06:38:19 AM
The Halving is not going to solve the troubles we have with people sabotaging the network or trying to slow it down. The price will increase in the short term, building up to the Halving, and once it reach a specific level, it will come crashing down again, as people start dumping coins to cash in on the good price. I will be one of those people, waiting for the crash and buying all the cheaper coins afterwards. We will see a lot of hype building up to the Halving and speculators will come pouring in, but as soon as they realize what is happening, they will flee with their profits.

A good time to buy Bitcoin will be directly after the crash happens, so start saving up some fiat to cash in on that opportunity. ^smile^
13068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining after subsidy, what's the long term plan? on: March 24, 2016, 06:29:21 AM
once block subsidy runs dry miners will need to turn to TX fees in order to get paid for securing the network.

what should be the the long term plan for TX fees?

As we are currently progressing the last mining reward will be around 2136 is most likely beyond your on my lifetime.  Presumably Bitcoin prices will continue to gradually increase making the monetary return greater even with less coins being yielded in return.

I am sure eventually transaction fees will begin to be divided between the pools and the miners, but we are a long way from that time.

Mtnminer

 Cheesy

and thats why i own bitcoin

more or less guaranteed to double in value every few years

I love your optimism and positive outlook on this, but I doubt that this will happen. There are loads of competing technologies in the form of Alt coins and also lately < Private Blockchains > being developed. This technology are one of the main threats to Bitcoin and it might not even be around within the next few years. Satoshi probably thought his technology were bullet proof, and banks would never steal his idea and use it against Bitcoin, but they did. Greed has no limits in this world.

Some people seem to believe that Bitcoin could cannibalize any good features from other Alt coins and adapt to change, but would consensus for that change be reached, if we could not even get consensus about a block size increases for years. ^hmmmmmm^
13069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DDoS'er admits to being paid to attack classic nodes... on: March 24, 2016, 06:19:59 AM
The guy obviously knows what he is talking about, and we should consider his service as being legit. He even mentioned his payment structure " Such attacks are in tens of thousands range. 30-100$/day for simple sites on vps or shared hosting without antiddos, 100-500$/day for more advanced targets with antiddos clouds, it depends on how hard is to ddos it. Tens of thousands/month for advanced attacks, price depends on target, it consists from uplink bandwith cost (5-8k$ 10gig/month, this is what your ISP pays for internet), and my profit which includes cost of developing custom software (bitcoin crawler, game ddos with game packets, etc...) "

There are not a lot of individuals, who would be willing or are able to pay that much money for a DDoS attack. It is actual sad to see people with loads of talent, doing this kind of harm, when they could be doing so much good.
13070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Africa's Largest Online Marketplace Bidorbuy Adds Bitcoin Payments on: March 24, 2016, 06:06:38 AM
Sure, these are good news, but bidorbuy isn't the largest marketplace in Africa, let alone in its single home country: South Africa.
http://www.takealot.com/ is larger, and they are even bigger online markets in Nigeria.

Takealot also accepts Bitcoin, but you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it done. http://mybroadband.co.za/news/internet/106487-takealot-com-now-taking-bitcoin.html < Quick search on Google > Here are a list of some other places, where you can also spend Bitcoin in South Africa. https://www.payfast.co.za/2015/06/05/10-awesome-places-to-spend-bitcoin-in-south-africa/ I was part of a consortium of companies, who worked with Naspers to develop IT infrastructure for a project they were planning and when I visited them, they were talking about Bitcoin being linked to some of their services in the future. ^smile^
13071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKS ARE FULL!!!! on: March 24, 2016, 05:58:55 AM
good idea at least gold can't be mucked around with by a bunch of preteens this will not work you canth trust anyone to make this work without governance otherwise pepil will jump ship to another alt and when that alt gets preteened they will jump to another alt and alther alt and alther alt it hurts just thinking about the mess and will cause instability its time... its time for me to get out now i dont feel comfortable with my holdings leaden by a bunch of preteens that take 2 years to solve a problem because of the testosterone proving grounds

What are you going on about? Developers are far from being preteens and they are doing a fine job at protecting your investment. The restricted block size is there for a reason, and bumping it up to allow for videos and funny pics, would be preteen behavior. Keep the block size at manageable sizes and you will protect it from spam attacks and you will also make it easier for people to store that data. If block sizes were increased to allow for videos and funny pics, much less people would be able to run full nodes, and this function will have to be handled by centralized data centers. < This will harm decentralization >

Do your homework and research next time, and post something that makes sense. ^hmmmm^
13072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: March 23, 2016, 07:13:15 AM
The rich people gamble too, they just bet bigger amounts. I personally do it as a form of entertainment and a bit of a adrenaline rush. If I suddenly become wealthy, I would treat myself to a trip to Vegas and then have a < Bachelor week > with my closest friends. The gambling experience is not about making money, because the house wins 9 out 10 times and if you continue gambling the odds goes in their favor to 10 out 10 times. Some people go out for dinner and a movie, where I go out and drop some coins on a slot machine or a Roulette table and still have some fun.

When you are not having fun any more, you should stop doing it. ^hmmmm^
13073  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: March 23, 2016, 07:02:15 AM
I want to see Bitcoin being incorporated from where the electricity is being generated, to the point where people pay for at the charging stations. There should be mini stations built into parking meters on the street and you will only have to scan a QR code with it's address and pay for the electricity with micro payments. I can already think of many other applications where people can have charging stations built into their post boxes at home and where strangers can charge up and pay for electricity in emergency situations, when they run out of electricity. ^hmmmm^

In the name of Holy Christ. What did I just read ?Bitcoins incorporated from where electricity is being generated.Have you ever thought of reading through any of the actual concepts including Bitcoins, how do they work, electricity, how charges are being transferred ? That post of yours sir is the main reasons why parents force us to go to School.

Some parents obviously failed to teach their kids manners and I see you are religious too, because you know how to use foul language. Nobody forced me to go to school, I actually enjoyed it and taught myself to speak 4 languages and write two. I admit to mixing some grammar and making the odd spelling mistake, but I still manage to get the message through, albeit with some mistakes. English is not my first language, but I get it right most of the time.

Stop with the personal attack on people for no apparent reason. Your post was off-topic and pure trolling, so just move on. ^hmmm dumbass^
13074  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Pay per View Page on: March 23, 2016, 06:47:59 AM
Currently I am developing a site in which the user pays a certain fixed amount of bitcoins to proceed to the next page.
The next page would run a script that would generate a unique url for the user which the user can use upto 10 times only.

Currently i have developed the unique url system but i am unable to integrate the payment system. Please help me.
what site is that?are you sure will put this method on your site?i dont people love to paid some bitcoins just for open next page. i suggest you to use javascript to protect that page, and lock it.
I found  a wordpress plugin : GoUrl which does the same !
It offers pay per view and pay per download along with extra features. And it accepts bitcoin along with other altcoins

So when will we see your first attempt at this? Do you need any content providers or are you going to incorporate Copyright products? It would be nice to read the latest Wilbur Smith book online in a pay per view payment option. You can read the first chapter, and if it does not catch your attention, you do not have to pay for the full book. This option would be better for the consumer, but I doubt if the author will be happy with that. They are all about sales figures and how many books were sold.

The concept has a lot of potential, just give us some feedback on the progress of your project.
13075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the anti-blockstream sentiment? on: March 23, 2016, 06:33:04 AM
I think the main anti-blockstream sentiment comes from people who believe that the protocol are deliberately crippled to favor the creation of these side chains. You would in theory not need them, if they simply bumped the block size as suggested by the Classic proposal. I think the other side is saying, bigger block sizes will increase the security risk for attacks and that their suggestion solves both problems. I can see merit in doing both, without compromising the security and also adding extra functionality and scalability. < SegWit>
13076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Remains Most Popular Digital Currency on Dark Web on: March 23, 2016, 06:26:09 AM
Bitcoin would have looked quite stupid, if there were anything you could not buy or trade for it. Imagine people only used cash for medicine and PayPal for paying for their booze. Bitcoin does not discriminate against any product or service. This whole debate about Bitcoin being used to buy illicit goods and services on the Dark Web is becoming stupid. Most people can go out, get a fake identity and open up a PayPal account or get a homeless guy to open up a bank account for them.

Money opens up a lot of doors for illegal activities and people will find any possible way to capitalize on these loopholes. If they chose to use Bitcoin, and they are stupid enough to think that it is anonymous, let them do that. ^hmmmm^
13077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you honestly think Bitcoin toys would help us?! on: March 23, 2016, 06:16:28 AM
Yes, If the toys come in the form of this, http://www.coindesk.com/kickstarter-launched-for-piggy-bank-that-lets-kids-save-in-bitcoin/ < I wonder how far they got with that project > I think the best educational material for smaller kids will be educational games, where kids get rewarded with actual Bitcoin and they can supplement their pocket money with that income. I would like to see some board games like Monopoly get in on the action too. < Giving micro payments for reaching different levels in a online player vs player scenario > ^smile^
13078  Economy / Speculation / Re: How can we make bitcoin's price only RISE and never FALL? on: March 23, 2016, 06:09:42 AM
Any good conspiracy theorist will notice that the up and down movement usually occur in a $50 fluctuation cycle, and this indicates manipulation and mini pump&dump scenario. There has to be someone behind this, and they are making tons of money because of this. A group of whales on different exchanges could manage to manipulate the price in such a narrow margin, and still make a lot of money. I hope this is not true and normal supply and demand are causing this, but it's just too obvious. ^hmmmmm^
13079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Latest news in bitcoin ecosystem? on: March 23, 2016, 06:02:17 AM
I browse the Alt coins section on this forum and also see new listings on Github and read everything I can get my hands on at these sites : Cointelegraph.com or Coindesk.com/ or www.cryptocoinsnews.com and also Bitbiz.io
You find a lot of information on these sites, but you have to be active on these sites to get the latest information and also be selective, because a lot of it is Pump&Dump schemes. Hope these were helpful in your search.
