13081  Economy / Exchanges / Anyone here use Bit-x exchange? on: November 30, 2015, 12:04:31 AM
This London based BTC exchange surged in volume lately:  https://bit-x.com/pages/about

I was wondering if someone has any experiences with them and could kindly give a review of their service.

Thanks.
13082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which alts have not dropped as BTC has risen? on: November 29, 2015, 03:15:46 PM
Ruby.  Not much volume tho...

never understood ruby coin, ann thread a ghosttown, no userbase, nobody uses the coin, u dont hear anything from it anywhere, no marketing, its very suspicious.

It's easy for a pump group to manipulate altcoins due to low volume.

Ever since the release of BTS 2.0 and all these companies popping up, I am confused.  Can you please explain how everything is conmected and what is Open Ledger?

Sorry to say but as much as I (wanna) believe in CANN it's becoming harder and harder.  I'm all for long term and devs holding back but as usual it just seems this coin (esp with it's huge ass supply and past manipulation) is going nowhere.  I know all alts are taking a beating but it just seems CANN is more-than-dead.  I'm not hard up for btc or anything but not sure how much longer I can see this stagnation being stuck in CANN.  (yes i bought higher but i've seen evened out with buys sub 930 sats).

I know what you mean, when I saw the current price, I had to take a look and see what happened. The problem is that nothing happened. The harvest that went to cure in July never came about, and even if it did there has never been any talk about Herbal wellness accepting cann again now or in the future. I would love to buy back in at these prices, but can see no reason to justify getting back in. Such a shame.

I feel the same way, I believed, but then it hit a point of stagnation. I was happy to see the project grow and see supporters and progress with the mobile wallet... Once I saw the state the plants where in I started faltering in my confidence of the team and of D9. After harvest I waited and waited and waited, no canndy to be had. Unless I see some hard evidence that this coin is actually progressing I will have to say this coins original goal is lost and this project is most definitely dead unless D9 can deliver.

They probably smoked it all. Grin
13085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS is not satisfied with bitcoin, they made their own currency on: November 29, 2015, 01:35:25 AM
These coins would make good collector's items, no joke.
13086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official] Developments & Discussions on: November 29, 2015, 01:33:27 AM
Is the Herbal Wellness center honoring the 1 CANN = 1 gram of MMJ again?

I guess the answer is still no..?  Guys, you there?

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/11/13/world/meast/isis-currency/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

--- ISIS is planning to mint its own currency in gold, silver and copper, the group said Thursday.

Its aim is to stay away from the "tyrant's financial system," ISIS said in a statement. It said it would issue another statement to explain the new currency's exchange rate, and where it can be found.

The currency will include seven coins: two gold, three silver and two copper.

The move is "purely dedicated to God" and will remove Muslims from the "global economic system that is based on satanic usury," ISIS said.

It seems none of the government/organization that powerful enough is interested in bitcoin, they all want to make their own currency  Grin

That's one hell of an altcoin!  Grin
13088  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinblackfriday.info - Do NOT use their website. on: November 28, 2015, 05:07:34 PM

Actually he was complaining just for the lack of answers and once he recieved one he closed the case and locked the thread. It was hard to see this coming before they posted those links to phishing sites yesterday. But with this precedent hopefully people will pay more attention in the future.

That thread made me stay away actually and never looked back at that thread again.  I was suprised when it was indeed really a scam.
13089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2015: Why did bitcoin fail? on: November 28, 2015, 05:04:35 PM
I think bitcoin didn't as it was expected to. What do you think about bitcoin in 2016?

You're trolling right?
13090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative to change from Bitcoins to Dollars. on: November 28, 2015, 04:29:19 PM
True but I am trying to get myself out of centralized exchanges, I already use Bittrex and have some volume there as well. Around  BTC15.56187998 of volume.

Gotcha.  But one good thing about NBT is you could store them in your wallet.
13091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative to change from Bitcoins to Dollars. on: November 28, 2015, 04:20:55 PM

It's not advisable to let someone buy into those assets.  The risk of them losing a significant part of their investment and becomng bagholders is big.  At least, please put a caveat after advising to buy.  There's nothing wrong with telling people in what you think is a good investment.  But please be responsible about it.

I agree, although I guess you could argue the same for any of these altcoins. Have you had any information about NuBits? I know they been holding the value of the USD for quite a while now, so that makes it a candidate as an investment. The only issue is how to get NuBits since it seems Shapeshift has a pretty narrow Deposit Limit. I empty it this morning and no way to find out when it get refreshed.  Undecided

Check out Poloniex's NuBits market, https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_nbt

I think they have better volume than Shapeshift as far as NBT is concerned.

Edit:  There are also other USD pegged crypto like USDT by https://tether.to and BitUSD by https://bitshares.org

You might want to look into those.  But be aware of the volume though.  It could be hard getting back to BTC when there's not enough buy support.

You can get all the requested information on nxtportal.org and/or nxtreporting.com.

MMNXT asset: http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=mmnxt&c=USD
MMBTCD asset: http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=mmbtcd&c=USD

You could invest your Bitcoin into Nxt-based assets which pays reguarly dividends like MMNXT or MMBTCD.
i own a lot of those asset and they pay dividends weekly, which i exchange into BTC. i would give it a try.

How's the volume and buy support for these assets?  It would be nice to show links to the order book if possible.  And some charts would be nice too, just to show if it's really worth buying into them.

13096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cannabiscoin is scam? on: November 28, 2015, 03:19:46 PM
They should take this down from their front page "Backed by real Marijuana
1 CannabisCoin (CANN) = 1 Gram of "Canndy" Marijuana".

1 CANN is not pegged at one gram of "Canndy".  I did a community giveaway for the people of Phoenix, Arizona in need of medical marijuana when I was supporting CANN.  Only to find out when people went to the Herbal Wellness Center, they said that HWC stopped honoring the peg.  It was really embarassing.

I don't know if it's still the case now, but the point is, they shouldn't resort to false advertising.  It does make them look like a scam.

I have a few altcoins.
I hope one day they will go the same way up as bitcoin.
You never know. Who thought 5 years ago that bitcoin should be where it is now?

That's the argument most of the bagholders had.
13099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do You Look For in an Altcoin? on: November 28, 2015, 05:55:25 AM
doesn't etheruem fit all your key points?

If I were to buy and hold, an altcoin should have all of these characteristics.

- A high daily trading volume and a really great buy support.

- A high and growing daily transaction volume.

- An active Github.

- A good, solid (and growing) community of people building useful stuff on it.

- VC and big FI interest on the stuff being built on top.

Sadly, there's no altcoin that I'm willing to buy and hold yet.  It's easy becoming a bagholder in this game.  Hopefully that changes soon.

It's in my watch list.  Still waiting/hoping for it to bottom out.
