These coins would make good collector's items, no joke.

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/11/13/world/meast/isis-currency/index.html?hpt=hp_c2--- ISIS is planning to mint its own currency in gold, silver and copper, the group said Thursday. Its aim is to stay away from the "tyrant's financial system," ISIS said in a statement. It said it would issue another statement to explain the new currency's exchange rate, and where it can be found.
The currency will include seven coins: two gold, three silver and two copper. The move is "purely dedicated to God" and will remove Muslims from the "global economic system that is based on satanic usury," ISIS said. It seems none of the government/organization that powerful enough is interested in bitcoin, they all want to make their own currency ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) That's one hell of an altcoin! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Actually he was complaining just for the lack of answers and once he recieved one he closed the case and locked the thread. It was hard to see this coming before they posted those links to phishing sites yesterday. But with this precedent hopefully people will pay more attention in the future. That thread made me stay away actually and never looked back at that thread again. I was suprised when it was indeed really a scam.

I think bitcoin didn't as it was expected to. What do you think about bitcoin in 2016?
You're trolling right?
|

True but I am trying to get myself out of centralized exchanges, I already use Bittrex and have some volume there as well. Around BTC15.56187998 of volume.
Gotcha. But one good thing about NBT is you could store them in your wallet.

It's not advisable to let someone buy into those assets. The risk of them losing a significant part of their investment and becomng bagholders is big. At least, please put a caveat after advising to buy. There's nothing wrong with telling people in what you think is a good investment. But please be responsible about it.
I agree, although I guess you could argue the same for any of these altcoins. Have you had any information about NuBits? I know they been holding the value of the USD for quite a while now, so that makes it a candidate as an investment. The only issue is how to get NuBits since it seems Shapeshift has a pretty narrow Deposit Limit. I empty it this morning and no way to find out when it get refreshed. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Check out Poloniex's NuBits market, https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_nbtI think they have better volume than Shapeshift as far as NBT is concerned. Edit: There are also other USD pegged crypto like USDT by https://tether.to and BitUSD by https://bitshares.orgYou might want to look into those. But be aware of the volume though. It could be hard getting back to BTC when there's not enough buy support.

You can get all the requested information on nxtportal.org and/or nxtreporting.com. MMNXT asset: http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=mmnxt&c=USDMMBTCD asset: http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=mmbtcd&c=USDYou could invest your Bitcoin into Nxt-based assets which pays reguarly dividends like MMNXT or MMBTCD. i own a lot of those asset and they pay dividends weekly, which i exchange into BTC. i would give it a try. http://www.secureae.com/How's the volume and buy support for these assets? It would be nice to show links to the order book if possible. And some charts would be nice too, just to show if it's really worth buying into them. They should take this down from their front page "Backed by real Marijuana 1 CannabisCoin (CANN) = 1 Gram of "Canndy" Marijuana".
1 CANN is not pegged at one gram of "Canndy". I did a community giveaway for the people of Phoenix, Arizona in need of medical marijuana when I was supporting CANN. Only to find out when people went to the Herbal Wellness Center, they said that HWC stopped honoring the peg. It was really embarassing.
I don't know if it's still the case now, but the point is, they shouldn't resort to false advertising. It does make them look like a scam.

Ruby. Not much volume tho...

I have a few altcoins. I hope one day they will go the same way up as bitcoin. You never know. Who thought 5 years ago that bitcoin should be where it is now?
That's the argument most of the bagholders had.

doesn't etheruem fit all your key points? If I were to buy and hold, an altcoin should have all of these characteristics.
- A high daily trading volume and a really great buy support.
- A high and growing daily transaction volume.
- An active Github.
- A good, solid (and growing) community of people building useful stuff on it.
- VC and big FI interest on the stuff being built on top.
Sadly, there's no altcoin that I'm willing to buy and hold yet. It's easy becoming a bagholder in this game. Hopefully that changes soon.
It's in my watch list. Still waiting/hoping for it to bottom out.

On a serious note. How is Maidsafe?

With its latest Airdrop update and some other updates, iOS downloads went up by 88% or 9244 downloads to be exact in the last 30 days and sitting at around 20794 downloads total for iOS. Android sits on 10k downloads total. Combined Gemz userbase sits little more than 30k. If this pace keeps going Gemz will be the second biggest Crypto regarding network effect, 30k is already in the top coins i think. Also amount of viewers went up by 105%.
Assuming the pace continues, yes. But it will slow down. Sustainable growth is a big problem among start ups. In mainstream terms such growth is normal not really fast, tho in crypto terms it's fast, but the app is in mainstreams reachability so plenty of growth available. I actually would love to know the userbase of top 5 alts, any idea? No idea. But how much is Gemz's daily trading volume and daily transcation volume in USD? At the moment not suitiable for day trading, it has had often top 3 most bitcoins in the buy side. But network effect is more important at the moment, when the attention economy gets implemented gemz will get a real value, but you need a big userbase for that which is what's being worked on. Buying gemz straight from the app will be perfect then since no mainstream user will really use poloniex. Often people ask what makes bitcoin have a breight future, ususally the answer is always because of its network effect. If there's very thin buy support then it wouldn't be advisable to invest large sums either. One could lose a lot and then baghold.

And branding Ethereum as an outright scam ala Bobsurplus is taking it overboard. The world's biggest banks are looking into using its blockchain for fucks sake.
