13181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin dropped 12% since morning ,where is it going? on: January 13, 2021, 06:46:40 PM
Hard to tell because you wouldn't know if those whales or the majority will really be having the same thing in mind for them to move the market.

12%? this is just a typical or normal day on this market where bitcoin could really move in a short span of time and then made up some recovery afterwards.

Therefore, to utilize up these movements then better to make some decisions neither you would accumulate while its still cheap or would just wait for the right time.
The question is , would you able to know on when?

Given the fact that the correction began in many markets, it is safe to say that this is a global trend and it concerns not only bitcoin. Now, a lot will depend on regulators and liquidity in the markets - if it is not enough, then the fall can be strong and bitcoin, as a highly volatile asset, will fall faster than the stock market.
13182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: January 13, 2021, 06:20:27 PM
yeah if they are not addicted to the gambling then it is possible for them to live their whole life on gambling's income but afterall this whole thing depend on luck factor, I have seen a lot of people living their life on gambling as well as majority of skilled people are facing a big loss of money.

If your long term strategy depends on luck, then you are doing something wrong. It is naive to hope for luck if we are talking about a long distance - the math works here strictly in favor of the bookmakers/casino owners etc. Therefore, if you want to succeed then you must either be a casino owner or look for and find weaknesses/mistakes at casinos/bookmakers.
13183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can hit $50k? on: January 13, 2021, 06:10:08 PM
It seems to me that in recent days the probability of such an event has dropped sharply. Judging by the news of the stock market, a trend reversal has begun on most assets, undoubtedly this should affect bitcoin as well. I think that small phases of growth ahead are possible, but in general, there will be a gradual decline now (or the price will fluctuate around some levels).
13184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you rely on the odds when placing bets? on: January 11, 2021, 09:08:02 PM
You cannot place bets on events in which you do not understand anything, with a high degree of probability the bet will be lost. As for the odds, for the game it is best to choose an outcome with a odds close to 2, this will clearly increase your chances of winning at a distance. The game with small odds is initially unprofitable strategy.

It's a delusion. Your knowledge does not in any way affect the likelihood of your winning. A sports specialist and a beginner will show approximately the same results over a long distance. Therefore, in fact, when we place bets, we may not even be interested in what the event is about - we can only evaluate the offered odds.
13185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a high roller? on: January 11, 2021, 08:54:25 PM
I could be a high roller that moment.

Could've, would've, should've... Didn't.

Am I missing something here? You were going to place a bet then withdrew it in favour of a smaller wager.

 Grin make my day!
But in fact, his reasoning strictly corresponds to the topic and he just tells us how it happened that he is still not a high roller, although there were all chances to become one  Cheesy
13186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arbitrage on sports bets? on: January 11, 2021, 08:48:41 PM
Well make sure the bookies do not catch you on arbitrage betting. They do not like betters who do this kind of activities. For them gambling is a fun not to make money. If you find a way to make money then they will restrict you because they have a business to run LOL

This state of affairs pisses me off - why shouldn't bookmakers just follow the rules and just run their business (mathematics is on their side anyway and they will always be in profit). What's the point in looking for and banning successful players? It seems to me that this greatly affects the image of betting and bookmakers.
13187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin dropped 12% since morning ,where is it going? on: January 11, 2021, 08:11:54 PM
~
The stronger dollar may have started this sell off. I would not be surprised if Bitcoin fell way down to about $10k over the next few days given the selling pressure at this time.

Bail out while you can, its flush time!

I think this is an unrealistic scenario. Such a drop is huge both in natural numbers and in semantic (below the previous ATH) in such a short time will mean something close to collapse. It is unlikely to stop. I do not believe in the reality of such a scenario. And if to argue objectively, 30K is the price that just recently everyone only dreamed of.
13188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin dropped 12% since morning ,where is it going? on: January 11, 2021, 04:20:18 PM
The drop is because of the yesterdays Tether podcast https://www.whatbitcoindid.com/podcast/questions-for-tether.
There is a high chance that Tether has printed money out of thin air and is not backed by anything.
There are also allegations that Tether has bought Bitcoin with "free money" to inflate the price and make "price floors" around certain round numbers.

In theory, if investors are afraid of the collapse of USDT, then they must first get rid of it and this should lead to the growth of other crypto assets, since it is impossible to quickly withdraw a crypto to fiat. At the moment, I do not observe this, therefore, this correction is most likely caused by other reasons.
13189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the right time to reinvest into Bitcoin? on: January 11, 2021, 04:08:43 PM
Just looking at chart and recent low, it matches previous highs and could be reasonable to speculate on.  I did think it could reach 27k which was the low at the year start but that would be quite significant to do so and take longer to rebuild momentum.   A sell to this point is a higher low compared to a week ago and still fairly bullish.

https://i.imgur.com/pwItylY.png

Let 4hr bars be your staff and shield in this fight, weekly average is about 36341 so perhaps a good tide mark as to wider currents on this.  I could be wrong to assume this vast momentum is comparable but Ive consistently looked to a 50ma on 4hr bars to give good guidance as to positive or negative sentiment and resolution, so I'm watching there.   4th Jan we challenged but closed above which was the initial response on this current day.

The level of 27 thousand is very unlikely - I read what traders write and most of them already dream of a level of 30k in order to significantly increase their position. Given the fact that the dreams of the crowd rarely come true, I would rather believe that the current bottom is 32 thousand and in the worst case, we will hang around this level.
13190  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: January 11, 2021, 04:03:44 PM
LOL at all the people saying below $20k isn't going to happen because of institutions.  We're about to hit below $30k any moment now.  Institutions are made up of people.  People still trade on emotions.

It's not about emotions, it's just that ordinary investors are too optimistic and think that institutional investors will help them. In fact, the interest of an institutional investor may be to lower the price to 5 thousand and make purchases (from weak hands) in that range, and get a profit in general after 3 years.
13191  Economy / Speculation / Re: When The Inevitable Happens With The Dump - What Will Bitcoin Be Worth? on: January 11, 2021, 04:00:57 PM
Anything is possible but a lesson from the past is when Bitcoin hit $1000+ in 2013 it fell down to around just above $200 in 2015. Nothing about the price of Bitcoin will surprise me now. I am just looking around at what is going on with the current buying and selling then will wait for the stable price.

Do you think bitcoin will drop 50 percent from the previous ATH? This will be a big disappointment and surprise for those who think that bitcoin cannot fall below this. On the other hand, this is what usually happens with bitcoin - something that no one expects happens  Cheesy

Those years were too far away and passed on scanty liquidity to seriously discuss them. I think the rule "after updating the ATH, do not fall below the previous ATH" should work, otherwise the majority of long-term investors will simply be disappointed in the cycles and lose the motive to invest between halvings.
13192  Economy / Speculation / Re: When The Inevitable Happens With The Dump - What Will Bitcoin Be Worth? on: January 10, 2021, 11:56:34 PM
I think it is going to happen very soon, the dump will be happening but what will happen when everything on CMC shows red? How far will Bitcoin fall?

After the crash I think it might settle around the $12,000-$13,000 mark before finding a way to work upwards again over a period of time.

The all time high was set just hours ago of $40,180.37 according to CMC

13193  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: January 10, 2021, 10:04:28 PM
We missed that opportunity because we loss faith on ETH, but now we are seeing it pump again, it urge us to buy or tells us the words "what if".. It's not too late yet, we just have to keep learning from our experience especially out mistakes, bitcoin and ETH will both dump, we should don't know what price but we have to get them at dip as that's an investment opportunity.

At that time it was easy to lose faith in ETH, I remember this time very well - after a time of euphoria, a depression came - 99.9% of ICO turned out to be a scam and investors threw off any assets at any price. I was optimistic until the very end, but I was forced to sell part of the ETH savings due to the fact that money was required for everyday expenses.
13194  Economy / Speculation / Re: $25,000 can be achieved by end of year? Or January 2021? on: January 10, 2021, 07:23:33 PM
On 7th January bitcoin success break new record because have raise above $41,000 and keep moving to the higher price, I think every day bitcoin will make new record with price always up, still not have moment for bitcoin touch lower and have correction price because almost investor and company begin to hold and saving assets with bitcoin, maybe on 2017 where bitcoin dump because just any investor save bitcoin assets but now many companies have begin with holding and investing on bitcoin.

Unfortunately, a huge part of the growth comes from USDT printing. This is a very unpleasant moment, because if problems arise like XRP problems, the fall will be rapid. Although for a short time such a situation is possible: traders will get rid of USDT and will pour assets into bitcoin, and at the moment it can go up to 100k.
13195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Do Some People Still Ask For The Best altcoins? on: January 10, 2021, 07:15:35 PM
Talking about gems : here we have a trustworthy old altcoin that in a few months is bringing a major update to their Mainnet (5 years in the making) that will revolutionize the crypto space,
by introducing a decentralized API that allows : blockchain usernames, blockchain identity, paying to blockchain usernames, creating friend lists, Dapps, storage of Dapps data on the network,
and offering a decentralized Venmo-like experience to its users.

The name of that Altcoin : Dash

Dash price trend movement long term (monthly) :

A major announcement for DASH is coming at the end of the month rumoured to be inclusion into the Grayscale Trust as a new insitutional investment vehicle to allow the Wall St. fat cats easy access to accumulate DASH.

The info about Grayscale Trust is just a rumor, unconfirmed. If true, it would be an amazing development for Dash.
Whatever the major Dash announcement end of the month, the future looks bright for Dash, which today gained +100% in price :

Dash price explodes 100%, BCH breaks out as Bitcoin cools off below $40K

However, the biggest gainer over the past 24 hours is Dash with its price rising roughly 40%. During the short parabolic rally, DASH surged by over 100% from $95 to as high as $194,
only to pull back to the $140 level.

Interesting information, thanks. However, I do not think that now the general market situation is conducive to the transition to altcoins. Perhaps Dash will grow slightly stronger than bitcoin/ETH, but hardly enough to enter it in the medium term. And for me personally, there is still a subjective point - I lost a lot on this coin in 2018  Smiley
13196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the right time to reinvest into Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2021, 05:15:24 PM
It only depends on the investment term you are considering. If 5 years old, then there is no difference and you can buy at any price. If a year or two, then it is best to wait for a dump that is most likely close (but you can lose if it happens after the next and "sudden" x2 from bitcoin  Grin ).
13197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can hit $50k? on: January 10, 2021, 05:10:35 PM
I would not make a comparison with the past, since now the capitalization is completely different and there is no point in talking about a 25-fold growth (and the like).
As for institutional investors, it is in their interests to lower the price to 20 and maybe up to 10 thousand in order to collect bitcoins from weak hands  Wink

I think you are not differentiating between market manipulators/whales and institutional investors. The two have very different agendas and motivations. I really don’t see institutional investors as wanting to floor the price - quite the opposite.

Perhaps I will surprise you, but institutional investors (if we are talking about large ones) are even more cynical than whales - they do not care about the asset price at all, for them only the market share matters. Therefore, it is somewhat naive to think that the institutional investor will worry about the price (and even in the short / medium term).
13198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Maximalism Has Won on: January 10, 2021, 05:07:08 PM
I disagree that institutions are not interested in altcoins. There is undoubtedly interest, but it is different from bitcoin. Bitcoin is considered by all market participants as an investment, first of all, and altcoins as a tool. And I can't say that the interest as a tool is bad - bitcoin started with this.

They are not going to ignore altcoins institutions are no different to us investors, when they see there are profits to be made investing in altcoins and they see the potential and use case of these altcoins they are going to explore these altcoins and they are likely to invest here, it's hard to ignore altcoins like Ethereum Cardano Binance coin among others.

Yes, this is partially true, but I think that you will not argue that after all, institutional investors choose bitcoin when they choose to invest in a crypto. When they choose a crypto-related startup or some kind of crypto-based project, then most likely they are talking about altcoins.
13199  Economy / Speculation / Re: No Resistance From $30K-$40K? on: January 10, 2021, 05:03:33 PM
I don't see any correction, the growth continues and so far nothing has changed. Growth cannot occur in one big candlestick, so retracements of 3-5 percent are inevitable. Moreover, if the growth rate increases, even a 10% pullback will mean nothing (do you remember 2017?).

Exactly, I don't know if we can call this retracement, just a minor pullback and then grow in the next 24-48 hours. The highest pullback we witnessed is just around 5% if I'm not mistaken, but then another growth spurt have been seen.

If we are going to compare this to 2017, I would say March-April growth, after Japan accepting bitcoin as legal tender. We witnessed a growth that time. So we are not yet in a bubble, might take the whole year or even 2022 to really see what the top price is going to be.

I strongly doubt that the growth cycle will stretch for another two years. It seems to me that the main growth has already taken place and a real correction/dump should go through until 2022. But only then, just on the expectations of the next halving, bitcoin will enter a new growth cycle, at least for me it would be logical.
13200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Snipie's gambling investment test on: January 08, 2021, 11:55:09 PM
Updated both tables.
Since the price is high, the number of investors and the amount invested continued its dropping to the lowest number since the beginning of my record months ago!
Otherwise our profits are quite stable overall.

Thanks for the regular update  Smiley
It is interesting if a bear market starts, will we see the opposite trend (whether the number of investors and the amount of investments will increase). In fact, this algorithm (withdrawal of investments when the price of the invested asset rises) seems strange to me. It seems to me that when we invest and get a double profit (from the investment and from the increase in the price of the asset) is the best option.
