1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 03, 2020, 07:30:39 PM
According to Kicker website 13 of the 36 clubs from Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga are struggling a lot financially. And this is not some speculation, but was announced by the DFL to the representatives of all clubs in an online meeting. Most of the struggling clubs have already spent their TV money, which is paid in four instalments during the season. The fourth instalment is due beginning of May and if the media partners withhold it, because play hasn't resumed yet, then nine teams from 2. Bundesliga and four teams from Bundesliga would be broke in May/June (and that is also the reason, why I think play will resume in May no matter what more or less).

One club in Bundesliga and seven in 2. Bundesliga are struggling the most and this is my list of clubs which I think are those:

Bundesliga

Köln

2. Bundesliga

Hamburger SV
VfB Stuttgart
Hannover
Nürnberg
Sandhausen
Dresden
St. Pauli

In the end, I don't think any of these clubs will (have to) file for bankruptcy, because the other (bigger) clubs will show some solidarity and even german government might jump in to help. But I always thought of the german clubs being run very solid financially, so this is quite a surprise to see 1/3 of them doing so bad in these times.
1322  Other / Archival / Re: How to play online poker legally from Netherlands, is this even possible? on: April 03, 2020, 11:43:08 AM
This poker room is big enough to comfortably play there but still, I wasn't able to find the exact restricted countries in their terms of service.

In german, but I think you are able to understand/speak it: https://www.pokerstars.eu/de/poker/promotions/terms/prohibited-jurisdictions/

Is PokerStars the only poker room for people with dutch IP? (question to the hall community).

Americas Cardroom is not restricted for dutch people according to this:

Quote
14. SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTION: Residents of Sweden, Guadeloupe, French Guyana, Mayotte, Réunion, Martinique, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Louisiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Nevada or Washington State are not permitted to view this site or use any of the games accessed through software downloads provided hereby. From time to time, in its sole discretion, ACR may amend the list of specific geographic restrictions from which You may not access any of the Services.
Source: https://www.americascardroom.eu/poker-customer-support/terms-and-conditions/

In general it's quite hard to find good poker sites nowadays besides PokerStars, since Poker isn't booming anymore. The smaller sites all lack traffic, FullTilt was bought by PokerStars, others were closed by FBI etc. According to this, IDN Poker is quite big, but I don't know that site and The Netherlands seems to be restricted anyway. GGPoker might be an option for you, since dutch customers can play there.
1323  Other / Archival / Re: How to play online poker legally from Netherlands, is this even possible? on: April 03, 2020, 10:40:57 AM
From all I know, dutch customers are not restricted from playing at PokerStars and that would be the place to go, because it's the biggest poker site there is. Please note, that you have to do KYC with them. Then you can find poker clients with some major bookmakers (Bet365, William Hill etc.).

If you don't like to be KYCed, you can choose to play at SwC poker with crypto (BTC). There is also a tournament series starting tomorrow, if you want to play against your fellow forumites Wink : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5236603.0
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 - CANCELLED on: April 03, 2020, 06:20:47 AM
But I understand this decision, national broadcaster want to get big ratings and revenue from sold tickets.

Yep, thats the problem. Even the good old ESC (and its national domestic selections) are about money nowadays. Not sure, how it is in Lithuania, but for example that Melodifestivalen in Sweden is such a big and money-making event, that throwing The Mamas under the bus is comprehensible from a financial point of view. But maybe some (at least financial) compensation would still be justified, if for example The Roop fails to win the 2021 national selection.

In Germany we had the broadcaster just picking the artist/song with no selection process at all. In cases like these, I would really like to hear the reasoning, if another entry gets chosen for 2021 Grin
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: April 02, 2020, 10:20:28 PM
A few countries have already announced going forward with the same artist for 2021 ESC, but with a different song of course:

Austria - Vincent Bueno
Australia - Montaigne
Romania - Roxen
Azerbaijan - Efendi
Belgium - Hooverphonic
Bulgaria - Victoria
Georgia - Tornike Kipiani
Greece - Stefania
Israel - Eden Alene
Spain - Blas Cantó
Switzerland - Gjon's Tears
Netherlands - Jeangu Macrooy
Ukraine - Go_A

I would expect most countries to do the same, since it's kind of unfair, to rip the artists off that possiblity basically for no reason. Don't think the domestic broadcasters, juries or whomever took the decision, can use the fact of the betting odds having been bad, to justify selecting another artist. Otoh you could argue, that it will also be a different song, which might not be as good as the 2020 one, so a new decision/selection process is reasonable. Not easy.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 02, 2020, 03:01:11 PM
The DFL and its members have agreed to lower the minimum age for Bundesliga players to 16 (was 16.5 before) starting with 2020/2021 season.

This is pretty interesting, because Dortmund (and they filed the request) has a superstar in the making in their youth team, who would be allowed to play in Bundesliga from November 2020 on then. Youssoufa Moukoko is crushing all records in the youth leagues for some time, that dude is a monster. The transition to Bundesliga is hard for every young player, but I can't wait to see him play with the big boys.

His stats for the last three years:

2017/2018 - U17: 28 matches, 40 goals
2018/2019 - U17: 25 matches, 46 goals
2019/2020 - U19: 20 matches, 34 goals (play is suspended for the moment)
Taken from: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youssoufa_Moukoko

He was 13 when starting to play in U17 and as 14 year old then already joined the U19. This is so impressive Shocked

Please any one tell me how the op is doing ? please update the results of 7 picks.

He has lost so many picks, that we have given up counting. The few winners were celebrated to mislead people and keep on scamming. Don't be fooled by him hitting some higher odds every now and then, this is just statistics/maths and a monkey can do that.

OP does not keep track of his bets in here for a reason. He will start some new challenge (with record) on a hourly basis and when that challenge is lost or runs bad, he will just start a new one. Save your money or buy Bitcoin.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 02, 2020, 01:36:14 PM
This way of looking at things is of course flawed, since it's only done in retroperspective - the Top10 looked different at the start of 2019.

Out of curiosity I have now checked, how the players that finished 2018 in Top10 have done in 2019 season. The results are pretty bad.

hopefully i can get some proper sleep beforehand this time.

It's quite early for you to play this week tourney, right?

Europeans really have some advantage with this matter, being just in the middle of things time-wise. So for future series, one could think about having different starting times (per weekend), to give all participants the possibility to play at prime-time once in a while.

And then, when this gets really big, we will have America-, Europe/Africa- and Asia/Oceania-series, with the Top3 of each series meeting at the championship table.

"In 2020" sollte passen Wink

1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [AMA] The Life of a Professional Gambler on: April 02, 2020, 11:07:56 AM
Sorry if you have answered it before. What are the basic things that a new gambler should know?

There is a little (bad formatted) glossary in the first post. Your question is mainly answered in this and this post.

@tyKiwanuka. If you were a sportsbook, what would be your odds on the withdrawal of the coronavirus quarantines in Italy after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year?

I guess you are refering to when sport events will start to take place again (?). It's really hard for me to give odds for that in Italy, because I am not digging deep into the happenings there. I am closely following everything in Germany though and I think, that Bundesliga will start again in May without spectators (see here).

For the bigger football leagues it is easier to resume play behind closed doors, because the teams there are not too dependant on ticket sales. Basketball teams for example, especially in Germany, are heavily dependant on ticket sales; it's a big percentage of their budget. Lots of teams have already laid off some players to save money. So these smaller sports will resume way later.

To precisely answer your question, here are my odds (no juice^^) for Bundesliga starting again:

In May
Yes: 2.00
No: 2.00

In June
Yes: 1.25
No: 5.00

In July
Yes: 1.10
No: 11.00

In October

Yes: 1.02
No: 50.00

In April (2021)
Yes: N/A
No: 500.00

I am not taking any bets though Grin If at least Bundesliga doesn't start by April 2021 again, then the apocalypse has happened and we have other issues to think about than sports Wink

Is it worth living the life as a gambler? I mean there must be a lot of setbacks, but what are the difference of livng a life of not gambling?

What is a life worth living in first place ? This is a very individual matter.

Most important thing is to do what makes you happy. Now this is not always easy, because you somehow have to earn money. Without money, it is very hard to be happy. I am not talking about millions here, but having enough money, to have a home, to eat, to pay your bills. To achieve this, the majority of people just does a job, that will guarantee this financial foundation. If people could achieve this by NOT working (maybe they are able to print money f.e.), like 80% would not be working. Or not work in that particular job or just do part-time or do charity work or whatever.

The life as a gambler is not always easy and it certainly isn't the right thing to do for most of the people. But I think I am more happy with what I am doing than 99% of the population. There are lot of setbacks - it's a rollercoaster nearly every single day, but I like it. I don't necessarily like the rollercoaster thing, but I like the advantages that come with me sitting in that rollercoaster on a daily basis. And there are setbacks with a "normal" job too. They are a bit different, because you will always get your pay no matter the setbacks, but a 9-5 job would bore the hell out of me. Having to deal with co-workers and bosses, being forced to be at certain places at certain times, spending 40+ years with something I wouldn't do in my spare time etc. For lots of people it's a compromise they take to have that financial foundation I talked about above, but for me this is no option unless I have to in the future. Then I would be one of "them" (and I am not judging "them", it's just not what I personally want to do in and with my life).

I have to deal with setbacks, that nearly all self-employed people have to deal with too. There is not that much difference imo and I like this quote regarding that:

If you don’t take risks, you’ll always work for someone who does.

Quote
snailbrainYesterday at 6:07 PM
the max supply after all coins have been mined is about 77million (or there abouts)
Also the supply will reduce - because in Taurion, CHI will be burned often.

snailbrainYesterday at 6:15 PM
(...)

but when you create a unit or account, it might cost 200 chi for an account, or 50 chi for a unit..
or maybe for some temp power things
this is so that we as developers do not have power over everyone else..
it may be though we give an option - for donating or burning
Quelle: XAYA Discord

@tyKiwanuka - Medvedev had good break out year in 2019, but sadly though, in the first half of the year, or least prior to the suspension because of the Covid-19, he has somewhat playing flat at up that point.

Yes, but this is a bit expected. After such a monster year, it's hard to keep the focus and younger athletes often lack consistency. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are just a league of their own. Not only in terms of achievements, but in being able to stay at the top for ages and always being ultra-competitive. They have that little extra, what I don't see in any of the young guns tbh. Once the big3 retire, I see a wide open field in ATP, with lots of different winners for the Masters/GS. Comparable to what we can already see in WTA.

Medvedevs stats for 2020:

W/L: 8-4 (66.66%)
Net win with 100,- flat stake: -256.40
Yield: -21.4%

That W/L ratio looks still fine, but he is priced so low all the times (due to 2019 results), that the profits from wins are too smallish to make up for the losses.

I did some stats for the current ATP's Top10 and how they have done betting-wise in 2019 on the tour. All data and odds was taken from OnCourt; they have Pinnacle odds, which are pretty accurate on average. The standard w/o rules of 1st set completed for bets to stand apply.

*with flat stake 100,- Euro per bet

With betting on the Top10 every match throughout 2019 and using flat stakes of 100,- Euro per bet, you would have won 4002.10 Euro, equalling a yield of 6.1%, which is pretty good. But it's not that easy. You have four players that basically make you all your money: Thiem, Medwedew, Berrettini and Tsitsipas. And this is no surprise, since these are rising players, that played a very good season, so the markets took some time to adjust the odds. With the old top players like Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, there is not a lot of money to be made, you are more likely to lose here. I am not surprised about Goffin doing so poor, he was never a reliable favourite to bet on imo.

This way of looking at things is of course flawed, since it's only done in retroperspective - the Top10 looked different at the start of 2019. The Medwedews, Thiems, Berretinis, Tsitsipas' played better than one would have expected and thats why they finished Top10 eoy. So you could make money with them. Analyzing the betting results from the Top10 at the start of 2019 throughout the year, will lead to horrible results I guess.

These patterns happen every season. The difficulty lies in finding the players that will shine and those that will fade. But if you are able to spot these players, you can make money, by just blindly betting/opposing them.

If you are interested in the stats of particular players, just shoot and I will post his results.

Havertz looks like he could be the next big thing, that fee does look ridiculous but like with Sancho, because of their age you get a lot for your money, many years of talent.

Correct. I would break the bank to get that guy - if it needs to be 100mln, then so be it. With only 20 years of age, that dude is already the heart and soul of Leverkusen. He is very versatile and a good general, such players don't grow on trees. 100mln is surely a lot and you are probably overpaying a bit, but this is an investment in the future. Not only does he improve your team, but you should be able to sell him for 200mln in a few years (bar any serious injuries).

Although I don't like Bayern always getting the best players from the other Bundesliga teams, they should be a good fit considering all circumstances. You don't need to go to Barca/ManU at a very young age as a german player. Step by step, like Kroos did.

These $50 price windows are really tight and all of them are taken in the price range where are for now. I am hoping for some whale dumping his BTC and sending the price south until tomorrow evening. Afterwards I want to hear the announcement of a Corona vaccine being found and mass production ready please.

he is correct. this won. but guys I will advise you not to use this service without some percentage money back guarantee on every bet. I have lost a few bets with him and I am onto the jig. He has absolutely nothing to lose and picks the big odds (while encouraging you to bet large amounts) cuz if you win his 30% will be a nice payday for him. if you lose however, all he will say is sorry and promise next time but it doesn't cost him. Even a useless clock is right twice a day so he will have his moments, but make sure that he has something at risk as well. Right now everything outside of his first pick is a free swing. He has guaranteed me 3 results advising me to bet 3 or 4 times what I bet because they were solid wins and they lost comfortably. Be warned.

This is what was to be expected, no ? Showing screenshots with just winning bets, only grading his winning bets in this thread here, doing everything in PM's to hide the losing bets - all paired with that lurid thread title. Just use these sort of threads as entertainment, but don't spend any money unless OP has proven himself publicly over a big enough sample size.
