I just wanna ask if mining is profitable these days because I'm planning to create a rig with 5 1070... any software recommend for mining?

Is actually it is profitable depending on the amount you have to invest in miners and if you pay no electricity

He's right.  It's only profitable if you pay no electricity  Wink

I honestly don't blame them for having that 5K threshold.  Otherwise they would have to employ a bunch of people to fix the mistakes of all the noobs/drunk traders/idiots/uninformed people who send shit where it wasn't intended to go.  Triple check everything, every time.  If you're not sure, check again.

On the other hand, it would be nice if it just didn't allow you to send A-Coin to B-Coin address.

This. A good wallet will prevent coins being sent to an incorrect address format. For two entirely different techs (like USDT - BTC) this should be easily preventable.

Well, USDT use the same address format as Bitcoin.
So every valid Bitcoin addresses are also valid USDT addresses.
There is no way to differentiate them.

Somewhere I read that both wallets belong to the same person, whether they use both or not.  As in, someone who has control of BTC wallet address 123 doesn't have to worry about another person getting USDT wallet address 123 given to them.  Is that correct?

You found the hashrate of a 580 for ETH. For XMR they usually don't go above 1000h/s, Vega is what you want for XMR if you can get your hands on them. A Vega 56 can hash near ~1900H/S with the right miner and mods.

Yes, it's very nice.  I'm running a six gpu Vega 56 rig.  Total hashing power with XMR is about 11,500 h/s.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 10 GPUs? Asus Z270-A on: December 16, 2017, 02:30:54 PM
Is anyone running the latest AMD drivers? I updated a few weeks ago an got hit with terrible hash rates, i was forced to revert back to Win10-64Bit-Crimson-ReLive-Beta-Blockchain-Workloads-Aug23
and this thing is a few months old, does anyone have a good new driver link?

I'm still using the Aug23 blockchain driver.  No need to change things up and risk fucking up a prefectly stable running rig unless there is a huge upside to it switching drivers.

Create an account with GDAX for best fees. This will also give you access to coinbase if you want to use a card later.

He's in Qatar.  He can't use Coinbase or GDAX.

I think the scammer so lucky in this case. I'm newbie but I will never go to ponzi scheme or like any investment that promising us to make our money doubled. no way something like that is true. no way.  Undecided

You my friend are a smart man.  I have no idea why anyone would fall for that, even if they are new to crypto.  It's the same as investing in anything else promising outlandish returns.
1327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am underage and having extreme difficulty buying Bitcoin. Help a kid out! on: December 16, 2017, 12:16:26 AM
A cash deal would work but is selling BTC to a kid legal?
Kid would kinda risk getting jacked..

That's what I was wondering too.  I mean ... A teenager can have a checking and savings account with a bank right?  I'm pretty certain I had both before I was 18, but my parents may have had to be involved in helping get them set up.

I use Coinbase/GDAX for the big three and I use Hitbtc for altcoins.  One of my co-workers is using Cryptopia, because he's mining ETN at the moment.

Have your parents help you.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash hacked for 60 Million USD... and now what? on: December 15, 2017, 11:37:01 PM
Just in case you did not hear the news... Will those bitcoins be banned? Will niceHash survive?

Frankly for me this service was really bad for miners. It killed any opportunity of extra profit for miners, so if it dissapears I would be happy.

LOL ... You're a bit late to the party sir.  This happened over a week ago.
1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: vega Build help me choose most stable parts on: December 15, 2017, 11:25:42 PM
Yeah he is right.  You really don't need (2) 1000w power supplies.  My six gpu right is only pulling 1100W while mining after power adjustments.  It was pulling 1375W total out of the box.  I just got them cheap enough that I didn't care.  Two 850W psu's is plently.  I like the evg's because of their warranty.  I didn't look into Corsair, so I'm not sure what kind of warranty they come with.

I personally would stick with 6 cards on a board, but that's totally up to you.  I work a regular 9-5 job, so I can't babysit the rig all day long.  I just want it to work with minimal problems.

You can always build a second 6 gpu rig later on.  I'm in the process of building my second one now.  GPU's have been on backorder for two weeks though.

I'm currently using 110 outlets, but I have a friend that's an electrician who is going to do some 220 outlets for me.  My 110's are on a 15 amp circuit in the spare bedroom I'm going to be moving my mining rigs to, so I really don't have a choice.  The current wiring won't allow for more than 15 amps and a single 6-gpu rig draws 10 amps on 110 outlet at 1100W.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: vega Build help me choose most stable parts on: December 15, 2017, 08:37:44 PM
I use the Asus PRIME Z270-P.  More than six cards on a board is just asking for trouble.  I know it can be done, but those who I've talked to that do it say that it isn't worth the hassle.

How much are those server power supplies?  You might save money going with two 1000w evga semi modular.  There really is no benefit to having a fully modular psu.

I'd go with Sapphire or XFX on the cards.

If you want to buy btc with a Paypal balance ...

1) Transfer PP balance to bank account (FREE)

2) Transfer $100 from bank account to Coinbase (FREE)

3) Buy BTC at market price on Coinbase (FREE)

Hello, I know how to buy BTC in Coinbase, that was not the question.

Also in your post you have several errors that although they have nothing to do with the operation, I would like you to know them:

YOU SAY:

1) Transfer PP balance to bank account (FREE) - Not mate, have fee

2) Transfer $ 100 from bank account to Coinbase (FREE) - Not mate, have fee

3) Buy BTC at market price on Coinbase (FREE) - Not mate, have fee

But I breathe that was not the issue, I've already thanked Vibez1Tv for the interest.

I have a checking account attached to my Paypal account and I can transfer money back and forth between the two for free.  I also have a checking account attached to my coinbase account and I can transfer money to and from coinbase for free.  I don't know what you're doing, but you're certainly not doing it right.

Hello im considering building a Vega rig for mining xmr . Can i get some suggestions with an either 4 or 6 card vega 64 build   I want something stable (not counting initial time building setting it up ofcorse) that i do not have to micromanage/troubleshoot every few days/weeks. electricity is around 10-11 $USD cents here in canada   i have noticed not many are choosing the server power supplies is there a reason for this ?

im thinking:
6x Gigabyte Vega 64
Intel Pentium G4400
2x 900W HP Server platinum power supply    @220
32GB thumb drive for hard drive

thats as far as i got so far, need suggestions for motherboard and ram

Go with something other than Gigabyte cards.  They are dog shit. You don't need a Pentium processor.  Celeron is fine.  Get a 120gb ssd.  60gb of that is going to be your paging file.  No comment on the psu's.  I don't use server psu's.

Get 4GB of DDR4 ram and an Asus motherboard.

I'm here to make money, buying crypto currency is extremley risky. At least I would make something from mining. I'll just try to do more research.

Start small and expand from there.  Especially if you don't know what the fuck you're doing.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Somebody please sell me on a new AMD Rig on: December 15, 2017, 04:10:51 AM
I've been trying to get some AMD GPU from past 5 months in UK no luck at all, all the retailers are saying that they don't have stock at all!!

Wondering how these people getting their GPU from!!

Probably they know some big dealers from the black market who controls all the stock?

Not sure how it works in the UK ... I just bought 12 Vega 56's in the USA for 525-550USD each three weeks ago, but now ... No one has them for that price.  There are people on Amazon selling Vega 56's for 1000USD.  Hopefully BTC will drop 25% soon and people will stop buying cards.

Come to Vietnam, we have a lot 470 570 580 and Vega64 u  Smiley

Lol ... Is that where AMD makes their cards?

I'd be interested if someone in the know did a round up of all the alternatives and obviously you are catering to people busy with other stuff so that kind of summary is ideal :p   I'm sure any sum up would get views, I post on a few forums slightly aligned to tech etc.    I just wanted to know if kryptex did cpu mining as well because I have an 8 core with 20mb cache and it used to do really well with zero lag so seems a waste not to have it tied to a screensaver type setup when otherwise idle.   They do but which of these is best at capturing the best rate, obviously solo mining on a fast coin can be best but also requires more management, maybe more market risk and hassle.

Certainly is way more hassle.  But once you're in the game, you'll never go back to one click shit mining (selling hash power) not knowing where every dollar is going.
