1321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 20, 2023, 06:39:12 PM
Currently, bitcoin has a very high price. I don't know why the bitcoin price can move so fast. Is it possible that there are brokers playing with bitcoin prices?

The little that I know about bitcoin is:

1. Bitcoin is the founding father of blockchain technology.

2. Bitcoin is purely decentralized. No entity, company, country or individual is affiliated with bitcoin. Only Bitcoin is like that, another coin was born from the company

3. Bitcoin is the antithesis of fiat

Initially, fiat money was born on the basis of gold reserves. But now it's not like that. Many people disagree when the US prints money massively without considering gold reserves. However, bitcoin was born without any guarantees, only the trust of the community makes bitcoin have value. Isn't that the same?

Today many people oppose the dominance of fiat. People who are against fiat will turn to crypto. But would you be happy if the bitcoin price is expensive?

The major similarity bitcoin shares with fiat is the fact that, they are both currencies. Other than this, bitcoin isn’t fiat and they’ve got almost nothing in common. Given that bitcoin is decentralized and as such, no single individual could manipulate its prize on a broad scale but while, fiat is centralized and as such, prize fixing or standardization is what we observe.

One mistake you seem to be making is not to see the value in the sat denomination of bitcoin, just the same way we have in dollar and cent.

It takes a 100cent = $1
That’s how it takes 100000000sat = BTC1

Until investors learn to see the value in the smallest sat, Bitcoin would always look like a high priced commodity to invest in. This is the concept of is too late for most meanwhile, we still ashore on the crypto innovation
1322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: June 20, 2023, 03:13:57 PM

You cannot make someone learn forcefully. Such an attitude will make the person develop hate for the subject being taught which in this case is crypto.
Your quoting pattern is bad and you might as well learn to snip of some part to lay emphasis on a particular area of interest. In this case, we are still on the first page of the discussion and as such, it’s highly unnecessary to quote the entire OP.

Spreading bitcoin awareness or teaching people about bitcoin is the best way for rapid adoption of bitcoin. Some forum members try to force their kids, friends and relative to learn bitcoin which shouldn't be so. Learning of bitcoin should be based on interest and not by force. If you try to teach someone about bitcoin and that person is not showing any interest, it is better that you forget about it,and try to talk to someone else who will be interested on it. Remember, no matter the effort that you put in,to teach someone who is skeptical to accept new ideas or that person feels that he is a professor or knows more than you in other aspect of life,or if he is even richer than you, will end up being a wasted effort. This can discourage you to stop spreading bitcoin awareness, due to the negative responds that you will get from them.
On like the content, I appreciate the energy you took to get this message out. I understand that some has got the passion to teach and also, feels the need to have progressive friends and neighbors around them. It doesn’t mean they are good people but, just the way they like to live life.

There is nothing wrong with having to teach to people what they need know but forcing something on them, that’s just something you can’t do, shouldn’t do and can not archive successfully. Anyway, the term force seems to be the height of it as used in this context given the fact that, most of those you hope to teach and have them follow through would adults. Of course there is an exception for kids but, kids! Just how do you expect them to come into the system. We surely needs to be wise about the way we go about exposure.

Am yet to see anyone that does better in bitcoin publicity or exposure than the bullrun does:

There really is no reason for this as it could count as spam else, you just might end up thanking just anyone and everyone. It ain’t a bad idea to show gratitude or appreciation but this doesn’t work so well with the forum expectation on post qualities.
Hope this post doesn’t come with a thank you note though.

With all that is said in Op and the fact that, some people are still suffering indecision complex, it won’t be way too long and many would wish to have taken up some bitcoin investment at where they met it. Somehow, am cool with that as it trashes the greedy once who hope to reap the innovation and don’t truly see it for a future currency.

1326  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 11:52:20 PM
Holders somehow don't panic when they don't have plans to make their 1BTC become 2BTC. The idea why some would panic is because they know what could happen in the next 2 to 3 weeks like BTC price could ge dip to $20K.
Well 1btc can never become 2btc. I say this for hodlers and investors alike. What happens or is obtainable is that, bitcoin value for your hodlings will always fluctuate based on market condition. Other than this, the much you could get to increasing the numeric value of your btc is by trading which goes both ways and by topping your portfolio by buying more btc.
Values will always go up and down but, your numeric value stays the same.
1327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin Be Badly Hurt if Binance Goes Down? on: June 16, 2023, 11:26:46 PM
The US government is also a big name, as they are currently regarded as a world power. If they shut down Binance, which they can only do on their end, they can only shut it down in their country. So long as other countries are still in support of the exchange, it won't completely go down.
Only in their country you say. You might as well want to keep in mind that other nations would like to follow suit and US as we know it always tries to find a way to instill there policies on other nations and a lot of nations, developing nations to be precise with an intention to benefit from foreign aids would oblige to a binance or crypto exclusion.

This could be an attempt to attack the giant before migrating to other smaller exchanges in the industry so as to impose there policies on them but as well, it would be a push towards a more private and decentralized exchange.

1329  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 13, 2023, 11:13:21 PM
Half of the rich people keep continue to swim in fame and wealth because of their occupied landed properties. If you own a land, housing estate you can be sure living great but this wealth are mostly control by political leaders and BD individuals......if you're blessed enough begins to occupy property's that can sure your next generation... In my country Nigeria if you don't have any of this properties forget yourself, you will end up making life mortgage and tenancy. Land never depreciates it keeps buying higher that's why I considered it the best investment. What do you think?
Go tell that to the CEO of Twitter Tesla Elon Musk or the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg. I'm sure you would be met with such an argument that you can't comprehend.
I wonder how many of the families or individuals with much lands are on or have made it to the forbes list of world richest persons.

A saying goes;
'It's better to earn 1% from every other persons effort, rather than earning a 100% of your own effort.

The wealth isn't in your own individual effort but, in the earing off every one else's effort .

Landed properties or real estates isn't the best for me. Yes, it's great and have got good potentials but, not the best.
1330  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 13, 2023, 11:06:38 PM
Let's assume, you are well capable enough to buy a new property through bank loan. Your income supports the mortgage payment so banks are willing to lend you money.

What will be the best route to take? Buy the property or stay in a rented place?
You know, when I first read the part where you talked about being capable, I thought it was going to need just that (having your own well enough money to buy what you want or wish for) but instead, it ended in a loan, a loan! Common on, both options aren't enticing but on the whole, I like owning my own stuff. I might just as well buy the whole thing rather than keeping up with the rent.
It's so hard having to live as a tenant to some landlord or land owner that could evict you on a hood reason, bring up policies that would require your forced compliance and lots more.
I think you ow of tw best thing to do is scale the interest rate om it, the timing to pay up and be free and then, you ensure to handle it good.
1331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Volatility Problem on: June 13, 2023, 10:56:06 PM

You didn't say anything that was so invalid but, you somehow strayed from the topic. Like you talking about decentralisation, the government and tax. I feel those weren't suppose to come in or doesn't apply here while talking about volatility.

Of course volatility has been one of the major reasons why bitcoin haven't been able to serve as a currency but, its rather one of the reason why its serving as an asset. Definitely one of the reasons why its loved by many and a lot of us have resulted to hodling rather than spending it like an everyday currency.
There is a question of opportunity to spend but still, many won't as, you tend to lose on your spendings should you have resulted to hodling.
1332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything is cyclical and repetitive. Bitcoin is no exception on: June 13, 2023, 10:49:46 PM
=> If you study a field thoroughly from basic to advanced things like why it appeared, by whom and how, .... Then there will come a time when you will be able to predict the future. its. And that is also the reason why great people have the ability to predict the future like Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, ... Why don't we apply that in investing in general and investing in virtual currencies in particular?
Its the reason why we've got historical records or data. Its the only thing you've got, to give you a glimpse of what to expect when you see certain patterns. History is useful that way and those who are able to merge that with the present day events have some huge advantage.
The bitcoin market has been season to come in two seasons (the bears and the bulls) and also, its got another circle about the halving.  Without being able to predict in exact when the bulls will operate, many people have associated the bull market to follow up the halving. This hasbeen true many times and we as well have the bears to come in there after. It's a repeated event.
1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: June 13, 2023, 10:41:49 PM
My question is where can I buy Bitcoin comic books that can catch the attention of children between the age of 7 to 11? I want something in comic or story book style and with full story about Bitcoin or related... I want to buy and wrap them up for the surprises.

Bitcoin comic books...
Are you for real on this? Where is the fun in that? At what point would batman gets to hit Joker with a bat on his spine... That's something you can't get out of financial education.  Perhaps you can get some picture illustration of how bitcoin works but, I doubt there would be any fun about it and far from anything comic.

Still, it's not a bad idea creating this awareness but, yiuv3 got to 3nsure to keep them engaged in the campaign. I don't mean they ha to invest, of course they don't have the finance but, you have to ensure they don't forget all about it by refreshing there minds by some means.

If yiu can't find a book no where, you could as well create yours.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The US just banned altcoin trading. on: June 11, 2023, 09:24:29 PM
From the beginning of 2022, the collapse of the cryptocurrency market began. In view of which btc lost its highest price and fell to 16 thousand dollars. Ethereum also touched 30% of its peak price. And most of the tokens in the cryptocurrency market eventually fell in price.

Cryptocurrency prices improved slightly around April-May 2023, but people remained somewhat skeptical about the market.
In the meantime, the US has banned altcoin trading. Which bodes ominously for the future of cryptocurrency.

Is the future of cryptocurrency in jeopardy?
I can't remember a year where the future of cryptocurrency haven't been in jeopardy. It's normal but still, it's evolved to conquer the challenges of the times. I would say, we shouldn't be fooled by there focus on altcoins as that's just gor a start. There success in this round would determine what they joke yo archive when they turn there focus towards bitcoin.
Fortunately, there bans has always come down to nothing but, it might minimise the number of individuals that falls victims to crypto scams in the form of scam tokens and altcoins.

Let's be guided by this mischievous plan and not be fooled in our investment choices and the part we play in all these FUD.
1335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto;Bitcoin on: June 11, 2023, 09:07:55 PM
I so much love bitcoin for the opportunities it has offered the world like;
Bitcoin is permissionless
Bitcoin is immune to seizure
Bitcoin is decentralized
Bitcoin is fast and easy to use
Bitcoin provides anonymity
Bitcoin has rendered freedom,as in financial freedom. The average youth today is interested in bitcoin today not because of it's trendiness, but also to seek financial freedom.

Bitcoin is immune to seizure
On this, i think it very much depends on where you stored your coins. Most individuals involved in bitcoin or who happen to have taken bitcoin investments often make the mistake of leaving there coins on exchanges. That's often because they don't know any better. All they know is, they own an account with the exchange they bought from and so, its safe for them.

Remember the phrase "Not your keys, not your coins"

At that point, it applies. Your not immune to seizure when it ain't your keys. Your account and coins could ve frozen or seized.

Bitcoin provides anonymity
Anonymous yes, since you can't know the person behind an address. Traceable, yes. Still, for those that own verified accounts on exchanges, you can be ID should there be a need that requires exchanges to bridge on policies. Better still, let mixers help you make all that go away.
1336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New beginner on: June 11, 2023, 08:35:59 PM
Well it’s the kind of threads that’s common in this section. “Newbies” showing how “new” they are to the forum. I haven’t been here for long as you have but I’m already tired of repeat threads and patterns.
However, as I am getting old in the forum, I have realised that this type of posts are very much part of this community and no one can do without it in as much as newcomers are still entering the forum. Then, some of the accounts are not genuine newcomers, but in some ways they pretend to be new in order to get assistance from the community.
Obviously my friend, very Obviously amd for what is worth, it is something that can't be taken away from the forum eventually. Given by the influx of new users on the forum, there would be always those who would like to have it easy as they should on there newbie days to just go straight to the point on enquiries as, not all would be good enough in using the search icon. It might seem simple but, the idea go use it in getting the answers they need or even identifying it easily when presented to them isn't something you just come to know. It takes a while and these users needs to get there go going.

Still, users will always express there options as a deterrent to those that would know buy just see it for means to spam the forum. So, its cool.
1337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin must surpass gold on: June 11, 2023, 07:30:14 PM
There are two reasons. First, Bitcoin is a non-credit currency ten times stronger than gold. So unless Bitcoin is replaced. Otherwise he must surpass gold. Second, Bitcoin is close to being the ideal non-credit currency, and it is basically impossible to have another non-credit currency beyond Bitcoin. Combine these two points and Bitcoin is bound to surpass gold
Such a small piece of writing and yet, some many over view statements. Certainly one that comes with huge assumptions.
You might have said these knowing that this is a Bitcoin community and we would certainly wish or want Bitcoin to be of more value than gold can ever be but first, we've got to understand all that is said there.

Talking about ten times stronger and also non-credit ideas... what does all that mean?

The only reason I can think of that makes Bitcoin more unique than other commodities out there is that, bitcoin is a more scares commodity than gold can ever be. More gold keeps been discovered as time goes on.
Also, Bitcoin is decentralized and the events that happens with bitcoin remains with the people.
1338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I keep crypto after buying it? on: June 11, 2023, 07:13:57 PM
Buying cryptocurrency is always a matter of where and many depend on exchanges as, they serve escrow purposes which have been found to be extremely important in the cryptospace, given the high level of insecurities that surrounds its transfer.
Also, cryptocurrency is meant to assume some level of anonymity and having yo buy from exchanges someworth agrees with that.  Exchanges ensures both the buyers and sellers aren't been cheated and they make sure there is always market for any amount of cryptocurrency. You also get to receive your coins or fait equivalent before release and are there to settle dispute should any arise.

Exchange might be your best means as, brokers don't offer such advantages.
1339  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria SEC tag binance operations illegal on: June 11, 2023, 06:57:09 PM
how do think the market or Nigerian investors will react to this?
They said any investor or individual still operating with them is doing so at his/her own risk, which means that they cannot shut their operations down, and are just saying that anything wey you take your eye see, when you dey use them, say na only you know.

The major problem is that they are operating unregulated and unregistered.

The status of bitcoin has always been illegal to many Nigerians, it will not change and will not stop people in the country from using binance.

The only time Nigerians will stop binance usage is if the exchange crumbles from the top.
From the bottom rather than the top.
The matter be say, the idea of cryptocurrency no be watin any government around the world buy and as e be like that, no policy or literally piece way them go bring way go put crypto on a better side for people to deal. I remember some time ago way government been dey try run some affiliation with binance and people been dey reason if na trap.

Watin I dey think now be say, them been dey try put body with Binance before via say them go try infiltrate there system through regulations and get certain details of p2p users. Na just watin I dey think shah.

The description them don put up there no dey any different frm watin them go talk about Bitcoin. This one no be warning, na just anothereans to spread FUD.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 11, 2023, 06:32:29 PM
In fact, Inter Milan was able to keep up with Mancheter City's game, and also succeeded in making it difficult for Manchester City to carry out attacks, especially in defense and also the pressure that Inter Milan put on Manchester City's players when their players got the ball. And Inter Milan also had six shots on target and several good chances, through Federico Dimarco and Romelu Lukaku but were less fortunate.
I like to think that Inter Milan had more better chances than Manchester City ever did. They just had a very big issue at finding the goal, they couldn't convert.

Martinez had a very good chance but, it wasn't his to take. He ought to he passed the ball to R. Lukaku who was in a better position to the te shot although, not without company as he had defenders to each of his sides but, Ederson was already out of the way and any shot would have meaned a goal.

F. Dimarco had his time, sadly one came off the ball and the next was interrupted by R. Lukaku.  Then, Lukaku had his time but still, the Ederson was there to keep it out by spreading his body. Manchester City was favourites to win and they did.
