I don't think discipline depends on your bankroll, so I would never risk more money than I can afford to spend on gambling just so that I can be more disciplined with my gambling activities. I know myself and how much patience and self-control I have and I know if I can stop when I need to or not. That's why, it's of no use for me to increase my bankroll just to have more control because if I have control, I can manage it with the existing bankroll and if I don't, I won't be able to have discipline even if I increase the bankroll.
It might have some reality that having a proper bankroll keeps you disciplined but I don't believe in such things. I believe it depends on the nature of a person whether they can control themselves or not when gambling and it doesn't depend on whether their bankroll is dedicated or not.

The only thing I can understand from the OP, is that one should not gamble when he does not have a job, because he will see gambling as a job and will be gambling for profit which might lead him into some ungodly actions just to have money for gambling. I have a feeling that Tottenham will mess up Manchester City league title dreams this season. Tottenham have been on losing streak, losing 4 matches straight which have made them lose their chances of qualifying for Champions League next season and even their chances of qualifying for Europa League is being threatened by Newcastle that have picked up form after their weeks of turbulence. Tottenham need to win at least one match if they must change the tide and the only option available is Brighton or Manchester City. I'm feeling that they might draw Brighton then win Manchester City. If this happens, then Arsenal's hope of winning the league will become reality.
Tottenham is weak and does not ha e the quality or strength to stop Manchester City from getting all three points from that match. It will be an easy win for Manchester City because they know that their chance of winning the trophy this season is at stake. This the reason why City will win Tottenham who don't have any reason to take the match personally. I gamble for fun, and I don't take it that serious to the extent that I will have a spread sheet or journal to keep record of my gambling activities. Whenever I am gambling, I see it as fun because I am using an amount that will not affect me after the game.
Keeping record of my gambling activities is already easy for me, as I have a percentage that I assign to my gamble budget. So it is easy for me to know how much I have used to gamble in the year, because I just do my simple multiplication. If I win and lost it back to gamble, I don't count it as money that I lost.
