1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 20, 2023, 09:04:45 PM
It was difficult for Manchester to equalize the score because their play was very easy to read and when Manchester United had the ball they often played from the wings and went straight to Marcus Rashford. This is different from Bayern Munich's playing pattern, which plays with a system, starting from the midfield, the left and right wings all play a role.
Andre Onana also performed poorly because he was unable to block the ball strongly so Leroy Sane scored a goal in the 28th minute, and Serge Gnabry scored the second goal in the 32nd minute. In the second half, if Erik ten Hag had not made changes, I think Manchester United would have conceded again.

Manchester united had the tendency and the vIbe to fight and get a come back against Bayern Munich but unfortunately they have a leaking pipe behind at the goal post in the person of Onana therefore they have a long way to go in terms of keeping a clean sheet in a match.
The result of today's game 4:3 shows that a come back would have been possible if the goal keeper was making the necessary savings as expected.

I also want to give it to Arsenal.
What a beautiful way for arsenal to have come back to the European champions league and winning their first game in a superb style after many years. I initially thought they Arsenal were going to struggle in getting a victory with their first game but I guess a premier league team can't do less against a team as PSV.

FT. Arsenal 4:0  PSV
1324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Challenges that can deprive/ delay one from hodli for long. on: September 20, 2023, 02:51:49 PM
Sickness : This is another factor that can make a bitcoin investor not be hodli for long. You will notice that there are some sickness that will make us not able to go to work anymore due to its critical condition. One will not be able to earn anymore but will need to take care of himself and this will make him go and sell his bitcoin. It is better to use your bitcoin to take care of yourself and become healthy rather than die and leave your bitcoin in your wallet.
This is a phenomenon that's out of our control. Just like natural disaster that can dwindle the economy of a country same is likened to sickness in a holder's life. We shouldn't never hesitate to withdraw from our HODLing to use in taking care of our health. We can always start again after we are well and strong.

There's no pride in leaving yourself sick to death just to prove you can hodl even in dangerous circumstances.

One source of income :  This happens to those people that their earnings is not big, but could invest in bitcoin from their income Some investors due to hardship from inflation might not have enough money like they use to have to take care of their important needs and families, because if this their bitcoin investment will be tampered. All that they have bought will be sold off at a price that is not their will. If you find  yourself in such situation, it is good to look for another job to add to the one to increase your income so that your bitcoin dreams wouldn't be shattered by inflation.
With the high rising inflation having one source of income to meet your bitcoin target can be straining if you don't cut down your needs you can't meet up. To bolster your plan you need to work with the income size you have, you can't be aiming higher than your income you are bond to crash if you  do it that way.

First, let me welcome you to the forum. Please when next try to paragraph your post, by junking them all together reduces the beautiful of it. It's just a concerned advise.

In essence from your op you're saying you have been dealing on altcoins ever since you discovered cryptocurrency. Now that's a huge risk you are taking and am sure you don't know been a newbie.

All cryptocurrencies are not the same, in fact the best and reliable of them all is bitcoin and that is where you need to divert your portfolio's to to avoid had I known at last. If you want to invest your hard earned savings make sure to do so in the right coin BTC with a minimal investment risk compared to other shitcoins.
1326  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mohbad death! on: September 19, 2023, 08:34:39 PM
na true you talk snr man, the fact say them even rush burry am like a commoner na wetin even tire me like this oh! Like, why the rush, and I guess most persons were not even informed about the burial. I totally agree that this has a lot to do with drug-related case and they might all be trying to do away with him to cover up their shit. The guy is just so unfortunate.
From what I learnt mohbad is a Muslim and by the Muslim customs the dead is not expected to be left unburied for more than 24hrs or so from the time the death occured. So that's why the rush to bury him .

Mohbad's death has much controversy surrounding it because the artist while he was alive has been raising alarm about threats to his life from his former record label boss, on different occasions he informed the public but the authority never swinged into action in taking serious the case not until now he's dead so mysteriously, and we just hope let this matter not flame up now and die off in the next few weeks without the authority getting to the root of the cause of mohbad's death to serve as a deterrent to a future occurrence if actually anyone has a hand in his death as alleged.
1327  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is bitcoin a legal tender or not. Why? on: September 19, 2023, 05:35:06 PM

To clear the air about the whole argument I considered I should share this in the forum to have a clear stand if bitcoin is a legal tender or not.

The debate about the legality of bitcoin is jurisdiction based. That is it depends on the country that you are pointing to or referring to. So it can not be generalized.

For example you can say bitcoin is a legal tender in El Salvador because it is the country known so far to all that has declared it and backed it by their law as legal tender, that means it use can not be rejected by someone in El Salvador for not being a legal tender. But we can't say because it is legal tender in El Salvador therefore it is a legal tender some where else when they have not made it a law as legal tender.
It is because Op do not actually understand the meaning of legal tender, if they do, this question would not arise. A common search of the dictionary will define "legal tender" as coins or banknotes that must be accepted if offered in payment of a debt..

So, if the government of your country has made a law that mandates her citizens to compulsorily accept bitcoin, it therefore means that bitcoin is a legal tender in your country. Otherwise, bitcoin isn't a legal tender in your country.
The status of legal tenderness is only ascertainable in country by country bases. If approached as a whole and from the origin of bitcoin, it is not a legal tender and was not created to be.
@Zoomic the quote below is from my OP, and looking at it in comparison to all you explain about what a legal tender is it seems we're on same page but yet you claim that the OP have no understanding of what a legal tender is.

If your statements were a counter explanation different from what my OP defined a legal tender to be it would have been logical to grasp why you said I have no understanding of what a legal tender status is.  So what exactly are you saying?

Here's a part of a statement of my op post, please do your comparison to that of yours.
Quote
On the other side I was trying to explain to him that a legal tender is that which is accepted by the government and under the regulation of any central bank and this is not so with bitcoin

1329  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 19, 2023, 11:58:27 AM
~snip
I think you are not familiar with this kind of activity. There are some events when many exchanges give you an opportunity to earn by simply doing some tasks. You get the amount deposited in your account but in order to withdraw it, you need to deposit first. Or in case of some that require a minimum limit which you were unable to earn from tasks. Let's just say you got $18 from the tasks and you need $2 more in order to withdraw because the minimum limit is $20. In many cases, people tend to deposit first. The minimum that you can deposit is $10. In a situation like this, people deposit first before realizing that they need to complete KYC first. And if you fail, your account will be restricted.
So you can resubmit it or ask the live support for help.

This activity is not something am unfamiliar with as a gambler, we all know that those task deposit  it's part of an exploit strategy used by these casinos to coerce gamblers to without a choice make the needed deposit to meet the withdrawal limit. And this event for KYC after deposit is quite understandable.

But it's different for when a gambler independently create an account and made a deposit into the account without completing kyc, that's what I mean by carelessness in my first comment. And a lot of gamblers still do this most of the times, so how do you describe that if it's not an act of carelessness.
1330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Let's share some tips among ourselves. on: September 19, 2023, 11:19:33 AM
The criteria I used when buying and selling is when the price is down a lot or when my time for DCA comes. The selling time is when the price reaches my target price, but if it does not happen, I will continue my DCA until the price increases.

This mean you must have a strong psychology and strategy adjustment plans to be able to keep up with being patient to wait for your targeted selling and buying time. Not all traders can  align fine with this.

For anyone that doesn't have a lucrative source of income that can maintain his overall needs setting a selling target and falling back to DCA when target is not met can be hampered as the trader may be forced to sell even when the target hasn't been met especially when there's profits already made. So if anyone chooses this type of strategy he should be sure to have other strong income source other than cryptocurrency.
1331  Economy / Economics / Re: On Apple's $200 billion dump and US shooting itself in the foot on: September 18, 2023, 09:58:44 PM
Both China and the US are bullies not just against other countries but also against their very own people. It's certainly less severe in the US, but that it's done against a people for whom liberty is paramount, it has much more tremendous effects.
US and China are in many ways two faces of the same coin. The circumstances were different so they went on different paths of different types of dictatorship. Otherwise under same circumstances they would do exactly the same thing!

For example these days both regimes are preventing capital from exiting their country by banning any company that wishes to do so or if they insist the government bankrupts the hell out of them. China is doing it to its investment companies like those involved in real estate, US is doing it to a lot of companies including investment firms like BlackRock.
The difference is that China never claimed to be a "liberal economy or country" but US did Cheesy.

When two friends turn enemies the centre can no more hold as before.

In the real sense of liberalism there's no country if the world that's practicing it to the letter. I caption it as a camouflage that permeate the current age and nothing more.

It is said that when two elephants fights it is the grass that suffers but in this fight the grass have been cleared and it's the two elephants that are feeling every bit and pieces of their fight and that's what makes the fight more captivating to spectators watching from afar.
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: for anyone interested in how much their personal data is worth on: September 18, 2023, 08:27:50 PM
For sure, lots of people will say too low on this, but that's the sign that you would be selling your personal data. Our data should have no money value as we need to protect it, but right now I've seen a lot of people, mostly in my country, ready to sell their identity to whomever needed it as long as they were paid.

Recently this year, I saw a thread from our country forum that they will pay about $10 for filling out a form that contains your ID and personal data, and surprisingly, a lot of people do it, even using their parents identities.
The data's are given too low money value so that we don't see it as anything important as people are claiming it to be. I see a lots of data survey companies offering between less than $1-$5 for different degrees of informations about the person and people don't care to know why they will be paying to get their data's if it's not that important.

The data's we don't care about today in exchange for $10  can be used against us and family in the future that can cost us competitive positions in the society and other things when they get sold into the hands of a rival. People should learn to protect themselves for the future since it's unknown if what will be.

Letting them know their right from their left about bitcoin and the possible ways on how to avoid those risk where possible.

Is this an idiomatic expression? Smiley

Sorry mate but can you explain further this statement of yours, I don't quite get it.
Yes mate, it's an idiomatic expression and it will be a pleasure to  further expatiate on it to your  clarity.

The statement means explaining to people all they need to know about bitcoin from the benefits to the risks involve.

The left: stands for the risks.

The right: stands for the benefits.

I suppose this explanation is clear to understand.

It's an error to know about only the benefits of a thing with no knowledge about it's ensued risks.

Obviously, because if we are intol investing in business, we should consider both risk and reward as it does not guarantee easy money.
Those who would it is, surely is uneducated about bitcoin.
Each business investment carries its peculiar risk and profits, and to survive in it you must have yourself educated on the risks and benefits.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: September 18, 2023, 01:27:16 PM

I have already learned a lesson from this and no longer have any desire to explain anything to anyone or impose my opinion. This will only happen if the person himself asks me about it. I have such a friend. He is poorly versed in such issues and asks me to talk about those points where there are gaps in knowledge. Here, of course, I come to the rescue. It's not difficult for me to devote some time.
I am glad that after all these “lectures” a person moves on to the practical part without any questions. Yes, I myself am interested in this topic, but I don’t have time to study everything in detail. There is too much information to read and absorb. I present everything in a condensed form.

In my opinion, we should not impose our will on anyone, if someone shows interest in Bitcoin, then we should help him.We must tell people about the benefits of Bitcoin and try to get them to do their own research and information in Bitcoin after our guidance.
It's easier to deal with when those we talking to about bitcoin showed interest on their accord and requested to be taught. The atmosphere is not subjected to argumentative discussions and discrediting views from the learner as the interested is already built. What next they can do is to delve into doing their own research about all that was explained to them about bitcoin but this is not so with those people that have no interest but we are the ones trying to convince them about it

Quote
Also, people should be made aware of the risks involved in Bitcoin, because profits can be made, but there is also the risk of loss.
The risk of loss should be what follows next after explaining to people about the copious  benefits of bitcoin. Letting them know their right from their left about bitcoin and the possible ways on how to avoid those risk where possible. It's an error to know about only the benefits of a thing with no knowledge about it's ensued risks.

Why use TOR at the first place anyway? Can't you use normally? I never used TOR. So I never faced anything like that.
People use TOR for various concerns to their privacy, anonymity, security against bugging and you can't question their wisdom in doing so.

1336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 17, 2023, 09:00:15 PM
Bellingham is the man to look out for in Madrid squad because he has been a potential star man in the shoes Benzema left empty to fill. The Madrid squad should not bother about losing, but a win with slight goal margin possibly of above 1.5, and perhaps a draw is expected, I must say it will be highly unlikely too.
A slip in today's game on the part of Madrid might see Barca come close to taking the lead in subsequent matches and it is clear how difficult Xavi would make it be for Ancelotti to try to recover the top spot once lost.

I was monitoring this match because Madrid conceded first I'm sure Madrid will equalize the score, it's just not certain whether in the first half or in the second half
But I hope there are no more goals in the first half so that the odds will increase in the second half if we place a bet now the odds are 1.55 not interesting enough
One more interesting thing is if Madrid concedes first then there will usually be a lot of corner kicks especially if playing at home 7-8 is usually easy.
Real Madrid wouldn't give up on Real Sciedad as they are trying their best to equalise the goal but it hasn't been easy for them, because Real Sociedad don't want to give them that chance. The game is still open and I believe that Real Madrid will play better in the second half, as Bellingham will always save the day as usual. I want to see the changes that Ancelotti will make in the second  half, as it might bring a turn around for them. It is an interesting match and isn't an easy one for Real Madrid.

The first half of the game was a cracker for real Madrid being dismantled with lots of pressure from real sociedad . The goal by Barrenetxea put RSD on the lead in the first half despite Kepa's saving but the rebound went straight to the net. Ancelloti has always taken advantage of the second half of his games, and it's all evidence in the reawakening of real Madrid  with an early second half goal from valverde and a second goal from joselu  putting the game in favour of Madrid.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 17, 2023, 07:50:53 PM
]
Now I'm quite curious how other gamblers are managing this part of the story, if they manage it at all.

So, question to you, did you ever consider paying taxes on your gambling winnings, or deduct the taxes with the losses you've created?
Those who will be managing this  can only be those gamblers that live in a country that gambling winnings are taxed, for those gambling whose countries doesn't tax gambling winnings they have nothing to manage in this subject.

As a citizen of a country I understand how essential tax is all embracing to the well-being of a country so therefore paying my gambling tax for my winnings shouldn't be something done under consideration but a necessity but unfortunately taxes ain't taxed from gambling winnings from gamblers in my country.
Quote
If not, what is the reasoning behind it?
Because my country doesn't tax gambling winnings. Taxes on gambling is taxed from the gambling company not the gambler.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 17, 2023, 02:37:18 PM
Chelsea started this first half so far with a brilliant performance, and I love the men that Pochettino featured in this game, it shows that he's fully out to win today's game. Ugochukwu and Gallagher's coordination is interesting, and Raheem Sterling's finishing with the ball hasn't been smart enough hence Chelsea would have been leading in this game. If Chelsea maintains the consistency which I have seen in this match Chelsea will most likely go home with the 3 points.
I am expecting Chelsea to win this match because the players they started in the match has shown great potential and are willing to win the match, they are yet to score because they are playing away from home and Bournemouth we’re trying to defend their game and prevent losing match which I doubt because Chelsea deserve the three points today.
No disrespect to the international young stars of Chelsea but they have been playing poorly in their performance. No style or pattern of play.   Sterling has been stingy with the ball with flop moves at the 18 box yard playing like it's a one man show and not a team game. A team with Gallagher as captain stead of Thiago Silva in the absence of Reece James just explains how awful the team is and I can't bet my cent on Chelsea winning this match against Bournemouth today.

The advantage you have going by the sudden change of approach you have taken to quit bounty hunting is that you are not a new member in the forum that we would be educating you about the forum rules and regulations, and child boards function's because as an old member despite using those times to chase bounty you must have been well-informed with those. The ball is now on your court if you care to learn because certainly every information about bitcoin is  situated in the forum articles, posts, discussions and if you put your mind to it you will possess the knowledge.

1340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge to help you argue with bitcoin critics on: September 17, 2023, 12:52:52 PM
An individual with the knowledge of inflation and currency devaluation especially if they are from a country that is not doing so well economically, can easily argue with any critic from a practical and real life application point of view about how bitcoin adoption improves the economic prospects of a country using El Salvador as a case study. There's so much that country has achieved in a year that would make great points.
The prevalent spiking inflation has saved bitcoin so much trouble as fiat currency is no more adequately giving the deliverables of a reliable currency with so many people forced by the harsh economic impact of the fiat system to fall on to cryptocurrency mostly bitcoin as an alternative adoption for the failing fiat currency with it's associated constant devaluation and central control. Even in countries where the government places restrictive measures and ban on bitcoin, those that have been privileged to earn the knowledge and benefits of bitcoin are not deterred by their actions as they keep holding on to bitcoin without allaying fears.
