1321  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2016, 02:07:45 PM
Well the halving can be good but also bad for the bitcoin, the bitcoin will then rise, this is good for the people who have already bitcoin. But I think it will drop heavily after.

If the bitcoin will rise to a record height it will be good for the popularity of bitcoin thats a plus point.
1322  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: January 26, 2016, 01:59:53 PM
I would say go invest its much better and you probably make a lot of profit in the future. Otherwise a bank is secure, the only thing is you gain only a little profit. Plus its easy to spent money from a bank, bitcoin is a different kind of money so you don't spent it on every store.

But for the future I would choose investing to gain more profit.
1323  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: January 26, 2016, 01:53:49 PM
I would opt for bitcoins, bitcoins are secure, fast, and there is potential for a lot of profit. Sometimes I do not trust a bank with some tricks.

On the bank you get a little interest and I want a big profit on my savings so I choose bitcoin above banks.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Oscars on: January 26, 2016, 10:00:27 AM
The thing is DiCaprio has quite a repertoire.
Altough he is not my favorite actor, his changes are pretty good.

Even more since his last movie was quite the movie right (The Revenant).
1325  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer s7 small farm almost free electricity profitable? on: January 26, 2016, 09:52:09 AM
I have been doing my fair share of tests with an Antminer s3 and i had some sucess

My family owns factory and there are some empty rooms with AC and all the electrical instalation to support a small farm installed electrical capacity is huge in the factory because there are industrial machines there working 24/7. There i can have free security and even supervisors that work there night shifts

I live in Venezuela here electricity costs less than 0,003$ kwh and the factory already pais for a set amount of kw that they dont even use so it is free.

I have been doing some calculations using a 10% difficulty increments and i can recover investment in 6 months and even after the coming halve of blocks still i can get some nice profit and with cheap electricity i can keep those S7 running for a long time. Or after first year sell that equipment.

What you guys think?

I was also thinking of starting just to try with second hand antminers s5+ i can get them for cheap and i can still profit from them

It's better to get your hands asap on some s5 miners and see how it's going. Remember the difficulty is an uncertain factor.
You can't really rely on that.

But with free energy, your are quite certain to get your investment back.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Sport To Gamble on: January 26, 2016, 09:49:00 AM
Soccer is very profitable. Either gamble on a national league or the champions league.
The later in the competition, the more gambles are participating.

In the finals you can easily do a x10 if you predict a match good.
1327  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC? on: January 26, 2016, 09:30:18 AM
The problem with local businesses is that they are not owned by techie people.
Explaining them how bitcoin works will be a big challenge.

An ever big challenge will be to learn them how they can accept bitcoin.
Proper documentation and guides are key to achieve such a thing.
1328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: January 26, 2016, 09:15:42 AM
When the market is turbulent i place buy orders on market price and add 5% above that sell orders.
This for a follow up with 3 orders.

At the same time i make sure to cover potential loss with stop loss orders a little below the buy price.
1329  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mining -- Worth a Shot? on: January 26, 2016, 09:08:29 AM
Wow, Genesis Mining is a pretty high profile company. I wasn't expecting them to have such sketchy practices regarding investments.

They are not sketchy. Everything is clearly written on their FAQ so they are not hiding anything. Some people never do any simple calculation regarding their return after the fees and there are less reviews back then about genesis mining so there are alot of people got trapped inside this genesis mining cycle still waiting for ROI

What you say is party wrong. let me explain why
Let me speak on my behave. I was charged to much maintenance fees, but i did get it back when i sent them a mail.

This has nothing to do with FAQ or a TOS, but straight forward ripping forward your customers.

1330  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Say goodbye to decentralization on: January 26, 2016, 09:02:24 AM
Centralization was about the happen. How is this news?
In every market where there is money to be made money will come in and take over.

The idea was bound to lose because of capitalization.

Without decentralization what is bitcoin more then any other coupon system.
Being managed by 1 party who totally controls it?

Only a madman would invest in such a thing right.

Decentralizatoin is something which could kill bitcoin.
Having bitcon centralized means bitcoin is not what it is advertised and people will leave.

I would leave and sell all my bitcoins, if just a selective group of people I don't know control my money.

I don't think the decentralization will stop now or in the future. Chinese pools control most of the hash but not all are chinese owned asics. A lot of that is coming from europe and the united states. That means miners can choose another people by then.

It doesn't matter if it end today or in a year.
Fact is we are heading to a moment where it will be centralized which means you coins are owned by a entity.

Not a governement, but way worse.. a group of companies...
1331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitgold - Legit or scam ? on: January 26, 2016, 08:58:08 AM
...

I take the old-fashioned view of gold: If you can't stand in front of it, and defend it with an AR-15, then you don't own it.

In other words, find a way to be able to buy and hide your physical gold.

If Bitgold ever defaults (like during a gold price reset to $50,000...), then the BEST you could hope for would be cash settlement, and that would be at a lower price (before the sudden reset).

Holding your gold close is just so much better.

This makes sense.
If they are a scam it should be know, but in the mean time buy gold directly.

There are many places these day where you can buy gold, even with bitcoin.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: January 24, 2016, 02:59:51 PM
I'm sure gambling has a negative thing around it which is stupid.
People decided if and how much money they used for betting.

They are not forced to gamble. Most sites have a rule to be over 18 years which means only adults could enter.
And adults can be held responsible for their actions.

1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your favorite type of gambling? on: January 24, 2016, 02:49:32 PM
I personally enjoy slots other than any gambling games out there bcoz its the simplest casino game I have played. Its various and attractive designs (depending on casino site) made me even more attracted to it. I also like games that were pure luck. It was my favorite type of gambling so far, might change if I explore other games tho Cheesy

Slots are nice, but when it comes to betting I prefer Poker.
Every chance i got to play I play, but when i have a little time on hand, i go with dice or slots.

All games are fun, but just poker is a game where you can profit.
1335  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much HitLeap minutes worth here? on: January 24, 2016, 02:41:56 PM

I have seen some people selling hitleap minutes.

I have a spare computer , I can open hitleap there for a long time everyday.

How much bitcoins would per hitleap minute sell for?

Could I make decent coins by doing this? Have you done this before?

I would be interested in this got.

Right now i'v got around 40k Minutes. But selling them off for a few bucks is too low.

The market will set a price eventually.
Honestly I don't see you will earn a good amount of money.

The traffic is of low quality. Having that in mind, would you pay for it?
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese community consensus to stay with Core 1MB. Meeting held Jan 24 Shenzen, on: January 24, 2016, 02:37:44 PM
Chinese community consensus to stay with Core 1MB. Meeting held Jan 24 Shenzen, many Chinese BTC companies including AntPool/Bitmain, Bither, HaoBTC, BTC123, BTCKan

Source: http://8btc.com/thread-28405-1-1.html

I really hope they do take this seriously.

China has the most interest in bitcoin these day.

Having them control the most of the bitcoin network is very dangerous. In the end people will just leave bitcoin which means they and they only will trade bitcoin.
Seeing so many investors going out, means 1 thing.

Goodbye bitcoin, and goodbye profit.

So yes I really hope they put their ignorant minds away and make a decision which will benefit the whole community and not just their pockets.

You are so right.
The chinese has been arrogant in this whole discussion. Fact is, some increase of the size is needed.

Just look how micro-transactions will stop working. Isn't that one of the pillars of bitcoin?

Sending micro transactions with low fee?
1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: January 21, 2016, 03:38:58 PM
in 20 years 1-2 BTC will be enough to retire on.

Dude you realy think it will be enough i mean i want to have at least 20 just to be sure

Thats not enough. It depends on requirement. For sure you have 20years more. So that can have a try to get 5bitcoins every year which will count to some 100bitcoins which is more or less enough based on your necessity.

Wrong. in 20 years, bitcoin's value will either be high (say $50,000+) or very low (say under $100).

In either case, you won't need 100 bitcoins because it'll either be not nearly enough, or you will need much less.

that satoshi prediction started in 2010, so 6 years already passed, it's 14 years remaining at this point, not 20 anymore, the final target is 2030

and anyway i doubt 1-2 btc will suffice for a retirement

How much do you think bitcoin will be worth in 2030?
I'm always wondering this since you don't need to be a millionaire to retire

going by simple math based on the halving, and on the fact that the value will not remain at this point because of that reason, i can estimate around 10k(8k to be precise) for 2030, as a minimum value, not peak

I am wishing that what you said can be true if bitcoin will be 10.000 dollars worth in 2030 oh damn I will be a happy champ.
But the problem with bitcoin we can never know what will happen and I think it won't be that stable for that price.

So lets see what is going to happen in year 2030 man I don't like waiting.

You need to wait mate if you want to enjoy the profits, but I believe not to wait till 2030 as it is a long span of time, and maybe bitcoin would not survive till then, so its  better that we believe in present and keep on playing with bitcoins when there is price fluctuations, I feel having 100 bitcoins at a moment can be a descent amount to hold for next 5 to 10 years.

Yeah that is true, but why do you think that bitcoin won't survive? I know you said maybe, but still.
Yeah trying to have 100 Bitcoins in my wallet men that is some risky shit.

I just rather have under the 50 Bitcoins try to just sell when the price is up and trade when is low or something. To juest earn some money.
1338  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: January 21, 2016, 03:36:03 PM
Well if you are not selling any coins that is great, but how are you going to make profit?
I think you are just going to trade right and just collect buy and earn bitcoins.

Than when you have that much and the price is very nice I think you will try to sell it and make a lot of profit with it.
1339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: January 21, 2016, 03:31:05 PM
Are those signature campaigns good?
How much could i make ?

With your rank not that much if you have  a Full Member account I think you can make a lot of money.
For just posting something in the forum than you can earn at least more than 20 bucks a month.

The problem with it you need to check weach campaign it is that they don't scam you also the rank it takes time to get it that high.
1340  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: January 21, 2016, 03:25:57 PM
Bitcoin wallet because you can be your own bank w/o someone taking your btc.

Exactly that is the point why we are using bitcoin.
The problem with it that this time of future is not like we don't need the bank we need it for the pay the bills other thinks.

That is just sad that they just don't use some bitcoin to pay all your daily things.
