Usually that is a symptom something is wrong with your boot key.
Try setting
nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = false
Hey, jack. Good to see you again. I changed that setting - now, when I mouse hover over the icon in system tray, it's all green: fully synced, NCC running. Right click, open in browser: NIS not available. Can't login. Stoner21 from IRC hoped you'd be available to solve this one for me (he said something about a similar issue when he began running nodes) Appreciate the help - I'd really like to get this thing up and running! |

Sup guys....still can't get in to my node! NIS won't allow me to even log in to my wallet. On IRC, Stoner21 helped me out with 99% of setup (for running an AWS node) but I eventually ran into the same problem he did...so I come to you now...  How is anyone supposed to help you if you give no details on the problem ? Wow, sorry..should have elaborated more on the NIS issue  when I try and run it in my AWS node, it keeps returning a big red 'FAILED' when running the desktop icon, everything appears to work fine, but when opening my wallet in a browser, it just gets stuck at the wallet password screen - I type my password, hit log in, a green icon 'loads', but my wallet never opens (its reminiscent to a browser running without javascript) Do you have a space, dot or something like that in your wallet name ? That's what usually causes these "nothing happens" issues. nope...that was the first thing I checked... my remote private key is supposed to be in NIS's config-user.properties, correct? Should anything be added to the "config.properties file" inside /etc/nem/nis? now I'm getting in (AWS): cannot access /var/lib/nem/nis/logs/nis-*.log.lck In Windows: Everything is fully synced, but when I try and log in, the little green loading animation just spins and disappears...as well as 'NIS is not available' in red at the top, yet it's running in my tray... First check this https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp Post here is everything ok with java. If not reinstall java. Everything's updated. NIS goes from unknown to unavailable. Hi guys, I can't seem to successfully begin mining for XMR. I'm running a google VM, (ubuntu 14.04) installed everything through Monero Essentials. I did everything here: sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get install screen;sudo apt-get install git;sudo apt-get install build-essential;sudo apt-get install pkg-config;sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev;sudo apt-get install automake

I've tried starting from scratch and re-making everything, but I'm no professional. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Alternatively, I'll accept any links to guides for VPS mining that are fairly recent - any coin acceptable! Thanks in advance...I've been ripping my hair out for hours now  edit: most of the guides I've found are out of date, which is why I'm willing to try setting up a miner from scratch, as long as the coin has a good community supporting it! |

I'm at the last step, but getting a ./minerd: command not found I'm in the same directory though, and I (thought) it was set up and ready to go...I mean I've used the same program, in the same VM before... Any ideas? Thanks in advance... In all probability there was an error and it didn't finish compiling the miner. Do make again and take note of any errors. EDIT: Or you are not inside cpuminer-multi/ directory... Here are the commands to get Wolf0's CPU miner going in Ubuntu 14.X: sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get install screen;sudo apt-get install git;sudo apt-get install build-essential;sudo apt-get install pkg-config;sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev;sudo apt-get install automake
wget http://curl.haxx.se/download/curl-7.34.0.tar.gz;tar -xvf curl-7.34.0.tar.gz;cd curl-7.34.0/;./configure --disable-shared --enable-static;make -j 4;sudo make install;cd ..
git clone https://github.com/wolf9466/cpuminer-multi;cd cpuminer-multi;./autogen.sh;./configure;make -j 4
The above will get the miner software installed. Then set hugepages to 3X the number of cores, so 24 in a case of a CPU with 8 cores mining. sudo sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=24;
SCREEN for allowing you to disconnect, yet leave the miner hashing: Finally, the command-line to start mining, where <your Monero addy> is yours and X = # of cores. sudo ./minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://[Monero_Mining_Pool_of_Choice] -u <your Monero addy> -p x -t X
Then CTRL+A and then press 'D' to disconnect from that session, leaving the mining active. Yes, there is.But we hold this question for Joe when he gets back from his trip to other side of the USA. The picture (avatar) he uses is from a Japanese anime. Just a thougth.
