0% fees are good in flat markets, I don't particularly care about fees when big swings are imminent. If I'm making 15-20% on a trade, I don't really care about 0.5% fees.
0.5% would be quite acceptable, I've been dealing with 1.5%, which is mostly why I'm no longer trading. Hodling only now. I'm curious seleme, do you think the 0% fee structure will take over and become the norm? It certainly seems like the asian markets are going that way. I don't see point in 0% fees. Why would anyone run a business without making profit on it? It smells shady. Bitcoin exchanges fees are huge compered to other markets but 0% is not normal. They make money by using their advantage to play their own exchange. yep, that's why I said - It smells shady I've been saying all along. Ppl really trust their so called volume? However sheeples still look at those exchange and follow.  |

Do the dumbfcks know how much it cost to mine btc?
If what they said is true, btc would never have any value and the price is 0 isnt it?
Here are some facts for those dumbfcks.
Buying a mining gear at current exchange rate, you will have very little chance of BREAK EVEN
Go check in mining section, price the current mining gear in BTC and calculate with conservative difficulty increasing rate and see for yourself.
If you're lucky and break even, your mining gear will use more in electricity than the cost of btc very soon after.
Remember all these didnt account the time and effort you have to spend to operate the mining operation.
What does this tell you? If you want to get some btc, the best way is to buy btc and spend your time doing something more profitable.
I'm just sick of the stupid "create btc out of thin air" argument.

Sounds like a terrible business plan! A mining rig should not pay itself off in weeks or even months. No business would ever expect to pay off the "tools of the trade" in such a short time frame. So why should Bitcoin mining be any different? A perfect message to Winkelvii and Silbert. Miners should form a real guild and stop dumping all coins on the market.

Is that so yours can be worth more? Mining with ASIC is pretty cheap as far as electricity is concerned. I don't care about the cost of the ASIC itself, you chose that path. The cost of production is very low, so BTC value (as far as the cost of production goes) is much lower than today.FTR, I mined with GPU when the difficulty was <100k and the price was single digits, so mining was expensive back then (~$100/GH per month). It all works out in the wash as I'm sure it will for you too, but a mining guild? haha Who gets to sell first? Who stops someone else from selling before they're "allowed" to? Who makes this order? and Why should the last guy have to be last? It sounds more like a pyramid scheme than Bitcoin to an outsider. Thats a wrong way to look at the cost of mining BTC (or better word minting) You cant ignore the capital cost of mining gear because its a sinking cost as the machine is depreciated so quickly. To me, the cost of mining gear should be looked at as the cost of materials for minting BTC. as its usable lifetime is quite short. (in other words, you used it up for the short time to mine btc) No matter how you slice it, the cost of minting btc can never just be the electrical cost. |

Its that noisy?
We're working to reduce fans and PSU fans speed. In ambient temperature of 20C, the unit should produce at least 1.4 TH/s with bearable noise level. We're still tweaking the firmware. In addition, we'll offer very competitive hosting plans. The customer will have full control over his/her unit and will be able to decide to ship it at anytime Another question, are the fans being dynamically controlled by the FW? or can we manually adjust the fan speed? I would like to have control of the fans regardless.... I actually dont mind the noise because i have my own mining room. |

and what you say makes sense. news influences price, but each dip and spike is not attributable to some news somewhere, as many newbies here seem to take for granted.
News does affect price, but most of the time not in the sense that many people think. High profile news (good or bad) are a great opportunity for pump&dump whales because news make the crowd easier to control. Other than that, I agree that we haven't finished the downtrend after the all time high -- and occasional dips are rather normal in this situation. However, it would've been a lot shallower without the panic selling from the China BTC ban fake news. And why does banning BTC in China still matter? Dont we already have a mind set that BTC cant flourish in China? Didnt we go thro this emotion last fall? |

Any way to measure the power consumption? I'll try. So, I measured the power consumption and it's about 1.3 KW. Also, by putting it on silent and placing it in a structure I have outside of my home itself, the noise levels seem bearable. Might not work as well for people with less flexible real estate. Its that noisy? Even you leave it outside of the house can you can still hear it? |
