I don't doubt this for one minute. Watch the media over the next few weeks and the West will try to link the terrorists in France with Russia.

That won't surprise me. There was already something in the news about Russia-related terrorists being arrested in Paris...

Ukrainian offensive in Donbass makes sanctions against Russia ‘immoral’ – Duma chief

The Ukrainian military’s new offensive against the breakaway republics in Donbass renders any anti-Russian sanctions immoral, and demonstrates the West’s true objectives, says Sergey Naryshkin, the State Duma speaker.

Obama: Last year, as we were doing the hard work of imposing sanctions along with our allies, some suggested that Mr. Putin’s aggression was a masterful display of strategy and strength.  Well, today, it is America that stands strong and united with our allies, while Russia is isolated, with its economy in tatters.

Translation: Thank Allah that the Saudis, for who knows what reason, tanked the entire oil market. Maybe they were trying to squeeze Iran and Putin got caught up in it? Who cares? Now I can be the rooster taking credit for the sunrise. We chose sanctions because that’s about as much as we could stomach. It’s only Ukraine. But hey, sometimes you get lucky.

1324  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Parliament sneaks in an anti-Russian war-mongering resolution on: January 20, 2015, 03:15:40 PM
By the way, Orwell only missed by 30 years or so. Reading the EU resolution, once comes to the conclusion that lies are truth, war is peace, freedom is oppression and black is white.

Quote
27.  Calls on the Commission and the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations to prepare and present to Parliament within two months a communication strategy to counter the Russian propaganda campaign directed towards the EU, its eastern neighbours and Russia itself, and to develop instruments that would allow the EU and its Member States to address the propaganda campaign at European and national level;

The wording that they chose is actually a declaration of war.

Quote
5.  Strongly condemns Russia’s aggressive and expansionist policy, which constitutes a threat to the unity and independence of Ukraine and poses a potential threat to the EU itself, including the illegal annexation of Crimea and waging an undeclared hybrid war against Ukraine, including information war, blending elements of cyber warfare, use of regular and irregular forces, propaganda, economic pressure, energy blackmail, diplomacy and political destabilisation; stresses that these actions are in breach of international law and constitute a serious challenge to the European security situation; emphasises that there is no justification for the use of military force in Europe in defence of so-called historical and security motives or for the protection of one’s so-called ‘compatriots living abroad’; calls on Moscow to stop escalating the situation by immediately halting the flow of weapons, mercenaries and troops in support of the separatist militias and to use its influence with the separatists to convince them to engage in the political process;

Proof? Psaki couldn't give any. On the other hand, what were NATO Herculeses landing off the borders of Novorossia, what were NATO warships delivering to the (historically Russian) port of Odessa? Why the freedom fighters of Novorossia find American gear on the territories liberated from Ukrainian Nazi occupants?

Why was American flag flying over Ukrainian SBU and one of its floos reserved for CIA officers, off-limits to Ukrainian servicemen? Whe was Biden, Kerry, Nuland, and now the Commander of the US Ground Forces visiting Kiev, with the magnitude of genocide in Donbass increasing a couple of days after each such visit?

As for Crimea, EU is very hypocritical in reaffirming the voluntaristic unconstitutional (according to the USSR constitution) transfer of Crimea in contradiction to the wishes of the people living there, yet EU condemns the exercise of direct democracy during which Crimeans chose to ceceed from under Ukrainian occupation rule.

Oh, and wars were fought before over lesser insults than this EU resolution. Good thing Russia is interested in peace in Europe and will be working towards it despite American war-mongering.

Lada Ray wrote an analytical and background-revealing article on this resolution:

EU Parliament’s Anti-Russian Resolution and an Army of US Manchurian Candidates
https://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2015/01/20/eu-parliaments-anti-russian-resolution-and-an-army-of-us-manchurian-candidates/

And a comment of hers to a question of "when and where will it stop"? (Interestingly this questions can be heard being asked by the rebels in Half-Life 2)

Quote
They’ll stop when people of the EU finally tell them ‘no more.’
For as long as they can swindle millions into ‘unity marches’ while sneaking in resolutions like this, nothing will change. Someone’s pushing people’s buttons, and they as usual fall for it. The moment protest rallies against US/West’s aggression against Ukraine and Russia gathers 1mln people in the EU, the moment they unelect corrupt US puppets out of Europarliament – all this will stop. They can only do all this for as long as people allow them to do it.

Quote
The second group consists specifically of Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian (the Baltics) deputies in the EU Parliament. These, I can assure you, also studied in the US in the same period, based on the US grants.

While we were all asleep throughout the 1990s, the US was busy creating an army of Manchurian Candidates to deploy all over the world.

...

Romanian, Croatian and Bulgarian EU Parliament deputies participate to a lesser degree, on average more quietly and reluctantly, or perhaps, they stay neutral. Hungarian, Slovenian, Czech and Slovak deputies have, to a degree, grown up. Consequently, it’s not as cool as before to be rabidly Russophobic in those parts. To that end, at least some of them (not all) by now grasp who is pulling their strings; therefore, in part they are out of the Russia-bashing game.

That said, there are pro-Russia, or at least reasonable, forces even in Poland and the Baltics, who are being silenced or shunned.

Want to add to my comment above:
Only a year ago Europe (and by it I mean EU and Russia, as both are Europe) was enjoying a relatively peaceful and prosperous cooperation, which was beneficial for all. Guess who has the most to gain my throwing a spanner into the gears?

From the EU resolution:

Quote
26.  Welcomes the decision by the French Government to halt the delivery of the Mistral helicopter carriers, and calls on all Member States to take a similar line regarding exports not covered by the EU sanctions decisions, in particular as regards arms and dual-use materials;

So, EU welcome the French decision to shoot itself in the foot, and it urges other member states to demonstrate that the contracts with EU are not worth the paper they are written on. French shipbuilding industry now follows the fate of the renowned Polish and Greek shipbuilders - into oblivion.

Oh, and we already got a taste of how EU honours the contracts: Holland still sits on the Scythian gold from Crimean museums, which which it had individual lease contracts, and which it neglects to observe.

Fun bit of reading:

The edifice of world post-1991 order is collapsing right now before our eyes. President Putin’s decision to give a miss to the Auschwitz pilgrimage, right after his absence in Paris at the Charlie festival, gave it the last shove. It was good clean fun to troll Russia, as long as it stayed the course. Not anymore. Russia broke the rules.

Until now, Russia, like a country bumpkin in Eton, tried to belong. It attended the gathering of the grandees where it was shunned, paid its dues to European bodies that condemned it, patiently suffered ceaseless hectoring of the great powers and irritating baiting of East European small-timers alike. But something broke down. The lad does not want to belong anymore; he picked up his stuff and went home – just when they needed him to knee in Auschwitz.

Its is incredible how Europe is going along for the ride with the US and they are being led into financial ruin.
Perhaps the fight isn't between the US and Russia. Perhaps the US and Russia are working together to separate Europe.
Then each side will take a few counties under them. Food for thought?

I doubt that. The Occam's razor and simple observations say that all EU tops are bought or blackmailed by US.

Feeling of ‘solid Western support’ behind Kiev’s renewed assault on Donbass
http://rt.com/op-edge/223919-kiev-assault-western-support/

An Op-Edge by Daniel McAdams, Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity. He served as foreign affairs advisor to US Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) for 12 years.

Quote
If you remember back at the end of last year, the Ukraine Freedom Support Act – which was passed by Congress and signed by the president – section 3 of that act states that it is US policy to assist the government of Ukraine in restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

So they are maybe calculating that they do have US backing. Remember there is $350 million in that bill that can be used to provide weapons to Ukraine. So they may be hoping that some sort of a provocation or some sort of an escalation may trigger the release of that money to Ukraine. It's a speculation, but reading from past history I think it can be something worth considering.

...

RT: What do you think about the timing of the assault. Why now?

DM: I think the Ukrainian army has had a chance to regroup. I think they feel much more confident that they have solid Western support. I think you have new a Congress in Washington that is dominated by very, very neo-conservative, very aggressive republicans, who have been very, very strongly one-sided in their view of this conflict. And they also feel that they have some authority to continue US intervention in the region rather than to back off and let Ukraine solve its own problems. So I think there is a really renewed interest in the US, in solving this problem to what the neocons perceive as US advantage.
1334  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sanction against Russia for West-choreographed conflict in Ukraine on: January 19, 2015, 11:07:52 AM
Kiev (and we know that Kiev is just a dummy extension of US StateDep) asks EU to extend the conditions for lifting sanctions against Russia with one more clause: that Russia should compensate (the imaginary) losses to Ukraine. We should remember that Ukraine got for free all the infrastracture and industry from the Soviet Union, the inheritance that they managed to royally squander. And a quote: "there can't be any illusions about normalising the situation in Ukraine by the means of constructive cooperation with Russia"

http://lenta.ru/news/2015/01/19/sanctions/

Of course: it's not Russia that plunged Ukraine into chaos, but US/EU, Russia is not a part in the conflict, but an observer at best and a victim at worst. However many sanctions are imposed on it, Russia cannot do anything about the murderous Nazi regime that was installed in Kiev by USA and EU, shot of raising the Russian flag over the Kiev equivalent of Reichstag.
1335  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: January 18, 2015, 10:20:29 PM
The main purpose of this "Volkssturm" is probably to serve as a smoke screen for mercenaries and contractors from the U.S. owners of the Kiev regime. All that psychotic refuse has had plenty of experience mowing down civilians in U.S. wars here and there so inhabitants of the Donbass better prepare for the worst.

I am afraid that is so. We should remember the airports West for Novorossia that were closed off a few weeks ago with NATO Hercules planes delivering some cargo. Also and Australian and a Canadian battle(?)ships were stationed a Odessa port for some time, presumably delivering winter gear for the Ukrainian army. NATO is in full war mode with the civilians of Donbass.

Just now, the authorities of Donetsk People's Republic are asking the world community for help:
http://www.vesti.ru/doc.html?id=2285655&cid=9
Alexander Kofman, head of DNR's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "We call on the world community to apply all its influence to stop the illegal mass murders right in the center of Europe"
The same "world community" that is so eager to genocide them for being Russian.

For a Muslim drawing a cartoon of Mohamed is as insulting as name-calling a mom. Both may actually lead to something known in the judicial terms as murder in the state of affect.

If by "they" you mean the coup government in Kiev, then  - a lot. The thing is, most conscripts are not willing to die for oligarch Poroshenko and his puppeteer Biden. A curious incident happened in the Ukrainian Rada a few days ago: The finance minister complained from the tribune that she has too low a salary, at which point, Ljashko, one of the coup-makers, came up to her and dumped a heap of dollar bills in from of her, which she too. Came across a good observation of historical parallels:

Quote

Quote
Joseph Goebbels and Valtsman are twin brothers - provocations follow the same scenario - the burning of the Reichstag, the shooting of a radio station in Poland, the snipers out of the house commandant Parubiy, downed Boeing, shooting of the bus in Volnovakha, no evidence of the use of prohibited weapons against the people.
Kharkov, Odessa, Mariupol are surrounded by block posts, reservations for those "villains" who disagree with Nazism have been established - all as Dr. Biden ordered.
Klitschko said - After a year you will not recognize Ukraine.
And after 2 years you will be surprised - it'll become a strict security colony with prohibitions against writing letters and watching TV, without freedom of movement, without freedom of expression, without the right to life - those who will live and those who will die is now decided by Bandera beasts.
Hitler would say - the head of Bandera terrorists, Poroshenko, is much worse than me, because I've always cared about own people and I never ordered to bomb German cities and killing German women and children!

I believe in the laws against slander my point was against people trying to take away your right to talk about your views without fear. at what point does having the ability to free speech lead to me not being able to defend myself that's quite the opposite actually.

And the Muslims defended themselves, it's just some of the more radical ones view defence as killing. In parallel to my observation above, if I call someone's mother a bitch, some might punch me, others will sue me.

But having freedom of speech, does it allow me to go around insulting everyone? I believe Douglas Adams addressed this question: http://hitchhikers.wikia.com/wiki/Bowerick_Wowbagger
