I think you should only take donations in the coins you list in these threads of yours.

Yeah, and how is that lawsuit thing going, did they ever find those devs that were you know, out of US jurisdiction and stuff? And apparently none of you know what bullet-proof hosting is...

And you don't reckon that Kanye's image rights are protected in countries other than the US?

Bullet-proof hosting is irrelevant. Regardless of whether Kanye can actually shut the exchanges down, it's obvious that the coin can never gain any legitimacy if you're breaking the law by using it. I'm talking about using it to actually buy things, not trading it on some two-bit exchange hosted in the middle of nowhere. People seem to forget that buying stuff is what currency is for...

Exactly. Without proper compliance and legit exchanges involved, there can be no widespread acceptance of such a coin.

The devs could have made this work with a formal announcement of something like Koi coin (with the samuari fish logo) early oh when the C&D was sent to them......if they had complied, the media would still have reported on the new legit name and logo but it seems the devs only ever wanted a quick buck on this one. Then you have the pop-up mining pools, pop-up exchange, multiple names and logos just before launch to obfuscate everything........there was at least 4 different names and 4 different logos going around the sites prior to launch.

This looks like a classic pump and dump. Arrange interviews with the media and create fake hype. Keep changing names/logos to divert intentions and draw in new marks. Entice miners with all kinds of BS offers. Double coin output and do a huge premine at the last minute. Hopefully you've drawn in enough marks to meet the petition criteria to get it on cryptsy now. Dump the premine the second it gets on cryptsy.

Seems like this was the plan with Coinye.

And why exactly are you arguing against a coin's existence that you aren't even mining? Do you do this for all coins? I would never imagine myself going into other coins' threads and talking each one down. It seems something more is driving you to feel the need to speak out against a coin. What is that exactly? I'm just curious.

This is the main phenomenon I have yet to understand in this subreddit. I can only imagine it is out of bitterness somehow, the feeling of missing out on something that might offer others prosperity and so the last resort is to shoot down any future it could have to trick your brain into not having remorse for not mining a coin in its early days.
Seriously, that's the only reason why I can imagine people do this.
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COYE] Coinye Coin - v3.0 on: January 18, 2014, 04:26:20 PM
What do you think is a fair market cap for this coin? $10-15m once it hits a real exchange?

It will never hit a real exchange.

The last exchange that tried it got threatened with legal action, and that was a virtually unknown exchange. Why would Cryptsy or Vircurex risk it?

Also, it's another worthless premined pump and dump coin...

You speak like a sock puppet.

Selling 10mil Coinye each day, trading it only for BTC/LTC

5MIL = 0.5 BTC
10MIL = 1 BTC

PM me if you are interested, I could be your future supplier Wink

Isn't that 10 Satoshi per coin?

Given the current risk that's way too high for a Fad coin moments away from being banned with a court order.

If anyone wants to sell some for 1 Satoshi I'll buy some.  Let me know.

What's the point of buying at 1 satoshi if you know it's going to be banned in a few moments, the novelty? ;}

At 1 Satoshi it is worth the risk.  Cause at 133 Billion coins outstanding, 10 Satoshi is pretty spendy.

Doesnt Dogecoin have a similar amount of coins? With 500K a block? Doge traded over 200 sats after it hit exchanges. While 10 may seem like it's expensive...that's cuz mining diff is so low. Believe me... if it consistently trades at 10 satoshi, more people will hop on this bandwagon thus increasing its difficulty and lowering how much you can make daily. Value and diff will eventually fall into place like most coins and find a balance. Unless of course the coin is killed by law ballers driving the value into the ground. That is why we need more publicity and higher starting value to trade at. If you run the price into the ground before many more people get on it then you risk sabotaging the currency.

BTW, this coin cannot be banned with a court order. You are foolish to think a court order can stop an anonymous crypto currency.

Then make me a "reasonable" offer for my 3.8 million.  Start the ball rolling.

You and the countless other people selling here buddy. If it's really hitting an exchange Monday, then it would be stupid to dump now for pennies...when it gets to the exchange you can dump it for nickels instead! Tongue

Assuming there is a buyers market. This is why we need more publicity. Unfortunately a lot of it is negative from other miners who for some reason have a personal vendetta against this coin. Like it broke into their house one day and raped their sister. I dont understand it really. If someone hates this coin so much then stop trolling the forums and talking about it. MOve on.

Well said.

Holy crap!
I'm mining Coinye with a desktop, HD6870's Crossfire, 630Kh/s, the thing sounds like it's going to take off, my top card is running at 89c. I got the window open, a fan blowing all the hot air out of the room, and the cold winter air in.

I'm sitting in the office, with a winter jacket freezing my ass off, and I'm collecting 400,000 coins a day!

If this coin hits $0.50, I will be one happy frozen nerd. Grin Grin Grin

With all the media on this coin it should at least spike up to between $1.00 and maybe $5.00 although alot more of this coin can be minted then BTC so if it does go that high it wont be there long. But there are so many coins worth ¢.50 with no media attention at all so i don't see why this one cant jump that by a few time with all the buzz even if it only last a week then falls back down to ¢.25-.40 .

just my opinion though.

In Coinye We Trust

I don't think it will ever be worth that much but 200-500 (even 1000 at some point) satoshis is realistic.

all this buzz and you think 50 cent to maybe even $2.00 is out of the question? there are to many coin worth between 10 cents to $5.00 for no reason at all. I think this coin can do it. Even catcoin is worth 16 cents

Right, but COYE has a total of 666,666,666,666 (aka HUNDREDS of BILLIONS). That's a huge number. There will only ever be 21,000,000 Catcoin so it's more scarce.

However, COYE certainly has a lot of media attention behind it so I wouldn't rule anything out, but it will be a huge length climb to get anything above $0.10 a coin.

I think you guys are all crazy optimistic. 100 satoshis will be the max coinye ever potentially can see (and that's if everythign goes coinye's way: i.e. lawsuit is dropped, exchanges pick it up, etc.). I don't think there's anyone in this forum that can honestly complain that 100 satoshis is not high enough for them. IMO you will start to see massive dumping at that price (myself included) and I won't feel bad about it at all considering where it's at now.

I have Coinyes and 100 satoshis is a perfectly fine number. COYE and DOGE have the same magnitude of total coins to ever be minted, so thinking along DOGE's price range isn't too far off especially given the immense publicity.

People buying aren't taking the risk quite yet of paying above 10 satoshis I suppose because the lawsuit looms over their head and the future isn't as certain as DOGE was. However, once the lawsuit bonanzo is over and COYE is allowed to live on, the buy pressure will increase drastically (in my opinion of course).

1) Exchange.
2) Twitter tip bot
3) Reddit tip bit
4) Cryptocurrency "HOW TO" on website for the total noobs
5) Android wallet
6) Restyled Coinye desktop wallet.

All these need to be accomplished for Coinye to take off. Should be bounties on most for anyone out there wondering.

Twitter and Reddit tip scripts are already open source.

just type randomly in windows notepad some numbers and letters, then write them down in a real notepad (physical) with the website address, username and the password you just made up and have the notebook next to your computer.

done.

Whoops I spilt some coffee on my notepad.

Now what? lol

I never thought I'd do it but I finally resorted to writing down my wallet passwords on notecards. I copy the passwords to 3 different note-cards and keep them in different parts of my house.
I have yet to lose any and if I did lose a stack of notecards I will simply make another copy from the other two sets I have.

The same can presumably be done with passwords from mining pools. You just have to condition yourself to start doing it and from then on you won't find yourself NOT doing it.

Sign up for new pool but before filling in password fields make the random password first and copy it to 3 different notecards. Then when typing it in use 1 notecard for the first entry and a 2nd notecard for the "retype your password" entry. This guarantees that A) you are able to read your own handwriting and B) that your copies are identical even if your brain freaks out about making an error even though you rescanned it with your eyeballs 5 times over. Typing them into the computer like this gives me a very strange sense of security because I'm constantly paranoid that somehow I'll wake up and my passwords to send coins from my wallets will suddenly not work.

So mining seems to be really slow.. What pools are still active and what is the biggest pool? Can i see that somewhere like with BTC on blockexplorer?

I'm using coye.dedicatedpool.com.

Not sure if there is a nice accessible list of pools open though :\

Let's also get a little perspective here.

He just assaulted a young adult yesterday in public and is facing charges.

Not the best time to be suing others for satirical defamation of your image. You are doing it to yourself.

Will a judge take this seriously?
