Shorting is actually good to profit also in down trending markets.  "Shorting is really risky" is an overstatement.

How much would a nude selfie get me?

Note to self:  Better follow that stop-loss.

pretty unbelieveable run going right now.  Does anyone have any real tanglble reason for the increase?

I would say the weakening yen is mostly to blame. China's economy is on pretty shaky grounds. The increase in the US dollar is also hurting China's exports, It's like a perfect storm to drive Bitcoins price to the moon as they say. And the European Court ruling that cryptocurrency is a real valid currency is just more fuel in the tank.

Or it's probably Karpeles.  Grin

I think the thing to get away from this is that a legit billion dollar company is trying to get involved in crypto which may be a good thing.

13287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FACT: DASH & MONERO are going down in BTC price on: October 30, 2015, 02:13:29 AM
How long before it takes the holders to thread the needle?

Until either Bitcoin adopts strong privacy features or end users decide they don't care about privacy. Remember BTC prices during 2011? I'm sure plenty of people sold at $2 after buying in on the run up to $30.

Wrong argument.  Bitcoin is not XMR/DASH, and that doesn't mean that BTC went to the moon, so will other altcoins.

Sure. It also means that short term price changes don't mean jack with regard to 'bagholding'. I'm not even sure if we'll know if many altcoin holders are bagholders in 2016 or not...

I didn't say that it was.

Could be good, could be nothing.  Who knows.  The thing is to be always open to ideas.

I think mixing bitcoin and purposely trying to own bitcoin anonymously are likely to link with illegal activities. This should be discourage.

No.
13292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FACT: DASH & MONERO are going down in BTC price on: October 30, 2015, 01:26:04 AM
True.  That's because Dash and Monero are not going up in USD price to keep up.  Naturally they will both go down in BTC price as BTC is still rising.

^ Hahahahaha!
13294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum about to pull a Cloak? on: October 30, 2015, 01:01:37 AM
There is no pump for ETH with constant selling. Any rally for ETH is being dumped on. Someone big is exiting all their ETH for BTC.

The train has left the station.

They could still buy the dip.  Hopefully around .0032 - .0035?

^ Exactly.  We all know people who talk bs on here usually are highly elated or sourgraping.
13297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any real difference in Vitalik of Ethereum and Bobsurplus of crapcoin? on: October 29, 2015, 10:47:55 PM
Bob creates random coin named something like Donkeycoin, issues an IPO, uses the IPO money to manipulate the market and pump the coin, then dumps on everyone.

Vitalik creates coin, issues an IPO, calls it not an IPO, uses the IPO money to manipulate the market and pump the coin, then dumps on everyone.

What exactly is the difference here?

I dont create coins nor do I ever issue any ipo's. I invest in many ipo style coins because I dont have any mining gear so I cant get into mined coins. I often promote for the project I've invested in but that's only natural for anyone to want to share news about an investment he made and hopes will pay off.

I have no comment on the the ethereum project. Just wanted to clear a few things up here.

you are nothing but a sad pathetic lowlife

as i said your day will come

that i assure you

lonely piece of trash

+1  lol at him trying to make it seem like he's innocent or not the bad guy.

wow serious mental issues.

And lol to the guy who created this thread comparing Buterin with Bob.  This is clearly a smear campaign against Buterin and Ethereum because OP is a known Bitshares supporter.

How could I have missed that earlier.
13298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats up with Digibyte? on: October 29, 2015, 10:44:56 PM
I mined about 40K of the things shortly after launch, ended up dumping them for NXT.
I still think NXT is a better investment, but anyone know why the sharp rise?
Ive seen this happen before with Digibyte, but am interested to know more.

Pump and dump?
13299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Sub Fans... Time to Let Go of Your Altcoin and Buy Bitcoin on: October 29, 2015, 10:42:21 PM
Well, if I know anything about vertical price acceleration, it's that it continues forever.

I'm looking forward to $8000/BTC by thanksgiving at this pace.

Nah.  1200 is good.

Yup.  Watch it intensely.  See if it breaks that.
