13381  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin Down on: August 13, 2016, 06:46:52 AM
I don't know much of what happened,  but aren't people calling betcoin.ag a scam site now?  People in their sig campaign are getting tagged by cryptodevil and some others.  Even ognasty is getting shit for it.
13382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Name Coin, PeerCoin and NovaCoin could ever go up past 5$ again on: August 13, 2016, 05:31:44 AM
No (I don't even know where they're at, tbh), because the altcoin market seems to be either saturated, or money is going into the newer, and sometimes much more speculative,  coins.  This is kinda like those sad saps who are still waiting for the doge moon rocket.  There's only so much money to go around, and those older coins might as well be dead.

then why are  they still on BTC-E?
Well I don't use that exchange,  but I assume they're still on it because they aren't dead yet.

Weird, they must have some connection to the coin itself, they never picked up any new ones accept eth and etc and its been years and they still have those random coins? its doesnt make sense
This shows you how much I know: How many coins trade on btc-e?    And yeah, it is quite possible that they got a kickback or something.   Didn't that happen with Cryptsy and Dash?

13384  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.02 btc needed on: August 13, 2016, 05:00:27 AM
What do you need the money for? Such a small amount. Why not just use $15 and buy some. There are many sites that offer this depending on what country you are from. Must be just a scam. But you are only trying to scam for $10.

I'm not going to scam for a few dollars.

I need the extra amount because I'm a little bit short on a purchase I want to make for a friends birthday.
I mean no offense,  but that's what every scammer will tell you right before the scam.  People here are skeptical and sometimes brutal.  If you're asking for a no collateral loan on bct and can't sign a message and you're not a sr. member, you have to expect this.

Edit: Fuck that, mamma's post made sense.  I'm going to contribute to the canvas.

13386  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How the account pricer works on: August 13, 2016, 04:44:56 AM
The account pricer is an excellent tool for account research, busting scammers, lending, as well as dealing with accounts..

People that know a thing or two do not think that the pricer is crap..
Ok you are correct there.  But as far as actually being an accurate account pricer...it sucks.  But yes, the info it generates other than the estimate, it can be useful.
13387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto trading or gambling on: August 12, 2016, 11:12:25 PM
Both trading and gambling can make you a huge jackpot, so you're going to get recommendations on both sides of your question (and have already).  They can both also bankrupt you, so be careful with your money.  My personal suggestion would be altcoin trading, where you can make decent profits riding coins that have upward momentum.  But sometimes that goes against you pretty quick.  Casino gambling, like dice and the like, can be murderously addictive and many people keep playing until they lose everything.  And that's obviously one of the drawbacks--the odds are against you.

It'd be good if you chose one and reported back how you did a little later in the year or whatever.
13388  Economy / Lending / Re: questions about 2 types of collateral on: August 12, 2016, 10:30:58 PM
I've been either lurking on, or posting on, or watching the lending section for about two years now, and I think I've seen physical collateral used maybe twice.  It's just such a pain in the ass to do something like that over the internet--it's possible, but it's definitely not very practical, especially when an escrow is involved.  And I'm sure large loans like this get filled, but that's another rarity too.  But OP, good luck trying to get your loan.
13389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @ $592.. we are crashing on: August 12, 2016, 09:52:41 PM
It's at $585 now, just bought a little.  Frankly I'd be happy if we stabilized at this price, but given bitcoin's history and its user base, I'm pretty damn sure that isn't going to happen.  We're going to break up or down eventually, and I'm hoping it's up.  Profit is always nice, eh?
13390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Preev Alternative on: August 12, 2016, 09:47:46 PM
Preev hasn't been giving me the price of LTC lately, though I haven't checked in a few weeks.  I really like the site, and it's what I use to check the price at work.  Hopefully they're not down, but if someone made a mirror site all is good.
13391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make bitcoin?impossible? on: August 12, 2016, 09:46:06 PM
Pattern:

1. Someone starts a thread that makes very little sense, in the form of a question.
2. Posts are all about trying to figure out what OP said.
3. Sig campaign earners come a-running.
4. OP abandons topic.

I'm seeing so much of this lately.  It's tiresome.
13392  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 2016 Summer Olympics - Bitcoin Betting on: August 12, 2016, 09:43:50 PM
You know, I don't own a TV anymore and thus haven't watched olympic sports in years.  For some reason I thought BMX was added to the games, either ramps or street.  Anyone know if that's true?  And if so, would anyone be interested in betting?  That's the only sport I'm even close to knowledgeable about anymore, and only because of Youtube.  I wouldn't mind placing some dough on a bet.
13393  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Whats happened to Cryptsy. on: August 12, 2016, 09:40:03 PM
Oh man did you miss a lot.  If you read through the whole thread, everything is there about the debacle.  You probably missed the whole Master-P fiasco as well.  Welcome back.

I miss Cryptsy myself.  They were the first exchange I joined and they served me well up until they went full scam.  I've used Yobit to trade altcoins, and Poloniex.  They're both good if you have bitcoin to start with.  I haven't tried buying anything with USD on either of them.
13394  Other / Meta / Re: Illiterate sig spammers on: August 12, 2016, 06:14:49 PM
Had no point just like the thread, you can not expect this forum to grow if you are always attacking aspects of it.
The continued grunting about signatures achieves little other setting the stage for people to dismiss people based on their signature.

Dare some one to compile all the threads on the nasty signature spammers, bet you notice a pattern or two.
Yeah well, welcome to bitcointalk.  This has been going on since the start of sig campaigns, and that was well before I got here.   It's a healthy debate.   The real problem isn't in the debate itself but in all the garbage that gets posted.  And the more I think about it the more I really like the proposed legendary restriction.  I wouldn't mind an invite-only section here, too, that could be free of shitposters.  Or something.   There's just too much crap to sift through here.
13395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [updated] Gullibility level = max, story of 1000 BTC giveaway and some fun stats on: August 12, 2016, 02:44:10 PM
maybe the winner is just himself  Grin or another person who close with him. in my opinion, there are person which will give you 1000 btc for free, especially that giveaway need to send 0.001 to get chance to be a winner. but i don't know about the truth, just curious about that giveaway.

Ofcourse he sent it to himself. Nobody is going to give away a 1000 bitcoin to a random user, no matter how wealthy they are. It was probably just an effort at gloating how many bitcoins he owned.

It also shows how desperate people are around here, creating tons of fake accounts to increase their chance of winning. Also shows why any bounties using only a bitcointalk account, or even facebook and twitter are easily created to gain multiple entries.
Don't know if this is a measure of desperation as much as the level of gambling degeneracy which is seen so often on bitcointalk.  And greed.

And I agree with above, no way is anyone sending 1000 btc to anyone other than himself.
13396  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk trust system very stupid on: August 12, 2016, 04:28:02 AM
... not contributing to the community one bit since they are not DT members

There is a chance they may be placed into DT later on, when their feedback will matter.
And this is a point I've been meaning to make:  I do not want to be on DT.  That means nothing to me and that's not why I've tagged account sellers.   And I won't be on DT, because of all the trust feedback I've left.  You put people on DT who are far more sparing with the red than I am.

13397  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk trust system very stupid on: August 12, 2016, 01:36:06 AM
I think that the so called "Crusaders" need to be dealt a hand of reality and not just give trust when they think it is just and needed. This just makes them look like morons and not contributing to the community one bit since they are not DT members this just affects them when they want to branch out into other faucets in the bitcointalk forum community.
So fucking deal me a hand of reality, because I'm one of the ones who thinks account sales are bullshit and my trust comments reflect this.  You may not be referring to me specifically, but I'm in the same category.  Do I care one whit whether you or anyone else thinks I look like a fool.  Absolutely not.  You and all the other account-selling and otherwise butthurt whiners can go gargle a tubesteak.  This forum is full of shady people, and apparently a lot of people who don't realize their actions have consequences that they 1) May not foresee, or 2) Don't care about.  Supporting ponzis and dealing in bitcointalk accounts are two of these things, and then there's also trafficking in stolen gift cards and all that.

If you don't like that there are people who are willing to stand up against that stuff,  FUCK YOU.
13398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is 1000 btc Possible on: August 12, 2016, 01:29:29 AM
Trading altcoins?  The altcoin markets--except for the big ones, like LTC, DOGE, DASH--are thin, and I think you'd have a hard time buying and unloading 1000 bitcoin worth.  It's like trying to make $600,000 trading shit penny stocks.  It's possible if you get a hot market where a lot of people are buying/selling and providing liquidity.  You might be able to make 1000X your original investment of 1 bitcoin.  Anything's possible, but I would find that extremely unlikely.

But I'm not a big altcoin trader.  I've done it in small amounts, and others have differing opinions.  Good luck.
13399  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH by July 2017 on: August 12, 2016, 01:23:14 AM
Why not first let the price reach the $1000 barrier again, or at least $900 before speculating about a new ATH? It will already be a great achievement if we somehow manage to hit $900-$1000 next year.
Or let the price settle above $600 for a while at least.  I think baby steps or at least a slow, upward treend would be just fine.  And I am a-hoping to buy more and get at least one bitcoin before I just sit on what I have and hodl.  I believe in bitcoin, but I have a very hard time committing to invest even $1000 in it.  It's just too topsy-turvy for me.
13400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Were can you buy bitcoin? on: August 11, 2016, 09:48:15 PM
The most reliable and convincing is xapo and Coinbase. but some of the exchange is very difficult to use for some countries.
I suggest you use a local exchange that is in your country. it will be easier because you can directly send it to your BANK account.
Never used Xapo, just their wallet for faucets.  Coinbase works just fine if you don't mind giving your personal details, same with Circle, which is also very good.  Then there's always wesellcrypto.com--great if you want to buy quickly with PayPal, but the fees are high.  I've used all of those.
