I just starting putting new gemstone auctions up:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=73.0

The first one is a gorgeous green chrome diopside from Siberia, and many more will be coming very soon.

1346  Economy / Auctions / Re: ***24 hour auction*** chrome diopside 1.15 carats emerald shape SIBERIA on: January 31, 2012, 01:15:11 PM
This auction ends:

Wednesday, February 1st at 01:13:48 PM
1347  Economy / Auctions / ***24 hour auction*** chrome diopside 1.15 carats emerald shape SIBERIA on: January 31, 2012, 01:13:48 PM
Chrome diopside is a very beautiful green for good reason- it is colored by chromium, the same element that gives emerald its color.  This stone comes from Eastern Siberia, in Inagli in Sakha state.  The emerald shape is very well-proportioned and nicely cut for very good brilliance.

The weight is 1.15 carats and the dimensions are 7.10 x 5.06 x 3.35mm deep.  This gemstone is untreated.  It was mined from the earth, cut and polished- that's all.

We select our chrome diopside from large parcels and always choose the cleanest gemstones that are beautifully colored and that show very good brilliance.

Please visit our home on the web at http://thegemvault.tiptopgem.com/ and feel free to sign up for our newsletter.  We send it about eight times per year and it is very easy to unsubscribe.  I offer stones via the newsletter that are available nowhere else, and I also share information gleaned from being a GIA Graduate Gemologist and working actively in Thai gem markets.

If you have any questions about this beautiful chrome diopside or would like to get in touch with me please send a PM on this forum or send an email to dave@tiptopgem.com.

This auction starts at 13BTC and the bid increment is 1BTC.  It's only 24 hours- good luck!
1348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto X Change - What would YOU the community like to see and join us???? on: January 31, 2012, 09:34:20 AM
I have had great customer service from Crypto so far.  The only things I would like to see are more orders/volume as mentioned, and a much cleaner interface which sounds like it is on the way.  Simple is far better than feature-laden.  I can dig around if I want features that are not used daily.  Give us a few choices up front on the site- only the most-often used.
1349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradehill on: January 26, 2012, 07:26:25 PM
I would recommend that you NEVER deal with a bitcoin business that does not have a telephone number.  And especially for an exchange, it is inexcusable not to have a phone number.  A real businessperson will want to answer the phone when there are problems, not hide behind an e-mail address that is never answered like Jered at Tradehill has done.

So far my experience with Crypto X Change has been very positive.  They are very quick to respond to questions or concerns and they are efficient.
1350  Economy / Auctions / Re: 24 hour auction ***LILAC amethyst 7.52*** color aplenty on: January 26, 2012, 04:10:48 PM
I can't argue with logic like that!

Sold to Binox for 5.1BTC!
1351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: moved wallet to new computer- ooops! on: January 26, 2012, 11:27:31 AM
Thank you Paraipan.  I am running it on a netbook and the progress bar was out of view- I see now that it is 27% complete.
1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: moved wallet to new computer- ooops! on: January 25, 2012, 10:59:22 PM
Thank you Stephen.  Is there any way I can confirm that it is actually communicating?  In the future will there be a little data flow indicator in the client?
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / moved wallet to new computer- ooops! on: January 25, 2012, 10:34:11 PM
I moved my wallet to a new machine, and even though all of the transactions went with it they are showing up with question marks.  I thought it was just a matter of letting it "catch up" with the blockchain, but after several days it is the same.  Any ideas?

Hey this poll is almost over!  At this point only one person says Jered is a good guy and there is rampant speculation that his wife voted.

Last chance to vote.
1358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradehill or tradehell? on: January 21, 2012, 09:05:21 PM
I really feel for you Dinkytoyz.  That is a tough spot to be in.  Jered is crossing a lot of people, and some of them might be extremely angry.  Words on a forum are one thing, but seriously he needs to watch his back.  Not everyone in bitcoinworld is a regular Joe with a nice family.  I just can't figure out why he wants to put himself in this position.
1359  Economy / Auctions / Re: 24 hour auction ***synthetic star ruby 3.12 carats*** laboratory ruby on: January 21, 2012, 08:58:42 PM

1360  Economy / Auctions / Re: ***1.47 ct oval Ethiopian Welo opal*** beautiful play-of-color on: January 21, 2012, 08:58:16 PM
9BTC anyone?  This one will not last very much longer.  Just giving you fair warning.
