1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to answer when asked "Can I make money mining bitcoin?" on: December 12, 2021, 01:20:26 PM
One of my friends has bought some few Bitcoin mining rigs and was fortunate that his colleague offered him electricity that is “free of charge” in mining BTCs there. I assume that his friend is “rich”.

However, if someone asked me that if BTC mining is still profitable and can make money with it, my answer would be a straight NO. Because the mining pool has so many participants unlike a decade ago plus the halving every 4 years that would make it even more difficult to mine along with the maintenance and electricity cost, it’s not worth it anymore.
1342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the single worst piece of advice you ever received relative to Bitcoin? on: December 12, 2021, 01:15:03 PM
I often read lists of tips and other best practices in the Bitcoin world, but i thought it would be interesting to share the worst Bitcoin advice you may have received throughout your adventure in this incredible monetary revolution.

Aha!!! Now this reminds me of my early days when getting involved in Bitcoin. Although none of my family members and relatives have made a comment about me getting involved to BTC back then, but I got the worse advice coming from a “mentor” of a team that I belong back then in the network marketing world.

He just said that BTC is a ponzi scam as there are a lot who were scammed of that coin and advice me to stop getting involved in Bitcoin. I know that he is misinformed about Bitcoin, so I choose to stick with it as I don’t have much results as a network marketer before.

Yes he is earning millions in Philippine pesos every month, but I don’t care because he personally doesn’t help me grow anyway, so I have to change direction as I realized that this is not my true calling. So yeah, I’ve got no respect to his character and attitude despite earning millions.

In my early days as I keep sharing about BTC and cryptocurrencies, that “mentor” unfriended me (but his wife didn’t until now). And worst thing of all, he spreads the word to his co-mentors and their respective teams that I am now promoting Bitcoin and should avoid getting connected with me. And yes, I’ve experienced getting lots of unfriends and my reputation to them was no longer good because of misunderstooding the basics of Bitcoin.

They started to ignore me, so it was a great test to be honest. However, as the old saying goes, “Whenever a door closes, another one opens”. I’ve opened that new door and made even more friends than before. Not just a new breed of friends here in the Philippines, but overseas as well. As I kept my faith on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and the value grew so many folds, I was blessed and thankful that I got the results that I’ve wanted.

I paid my debts, treating my family, traveling a lot within the Philippines and a few countries, becoming a crypto keynote speaker, part of the crypto companies as ambassador and now enjoying my career as a crypto Youtuber while under the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now those people who have bullied, doubted and criticized me before about BTC, are either just being silent or eating their own words, or some have started to jump on board and getting some guidance from me.
1343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse and blockchain on: December 12, 2021, 12:56:42 PM
It seems that the Ready Player One is going to be a reality one day. I would give it like at least a decade from now and the virtual economy of it would definitely become the biggest contributor in the real world economy.

I know that most of the people are calling it “delusional”, especially those insane virtual land sales in Decentraland. In my opinion, these people who are calling metaverse, NFTs, virtual lands as “delusional” and “impossible” in their eyes and minds are going to be the same people who’ve missed the Bitcoin boat a decade ago.
1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play2earn games on: December 11, 2021, 09:23:23 AM
How good will Play2earn games be that someone can rely on them for daily weekly or monthly income? Axie infinity was a blast but now it's no more a easier option for people that are struggling because the requirements to play the game is highly costly, are there free to play crypto games available?

I think Thetan Arena is free to play and earn at the same time, but I doubt that it would last longer for us to pkay and earn for free. Maybe give it a few weeks and then they are going to change the ecosystem, reward pool, etc. I can say that maybe in the future, it will be compulsory for us to buy NFTs in order to play and earn everday.

I think these games designed for us to play to make a living has kinda “take off” the fun to play part. I am not saying that this is bad, but every game and player has their own perspective and mindset. If that’s what they want to play and earn for a living, then they can go for it as long the game can keep up it’s reward pool and volume like what Axie is doing.

Unfortunately, I am an Axie player but never lasted long coz’ I don’t find it fun to play. I never relied on play to earn games as my main income source, and will never be. I just simply enjoy my current work and steady income (along with the growth of my crypto assets) and will never go away for a long while.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Is HODL the only strategy? on: December 10, 2021, 12:45:58 PM
I own different crypto and mostly I stake with them because I am interested in the long return. With bitcoin I am actually doing nothing. Can you suggest any strategies to make even a little APR? I know that I can't stake with bitcoin.

HODL = long-term
Day trading = short-term

If I were to choose between the two, I would choose to hold for the long run. That’s what I have failed when I have BTC before and ended up regretting myself not holding any further. In this way, it’s less riskier than day trading in my opinion.
1346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about staking? on: December 08, 2021, 01:53:06 PM
I respect everyone’s opinions here regarding Newscrypto staking. However, it has a great use case when you stake NWC tokens there. Depends on how much NWCs you stake, you’ll get between a month to a year of free subscription as a Newscrypto Pro Member where you can access state-of-the-art helpful tools for crypto traders that cannot be accessed by basic or free members.

Plus if you try accessing their platform, you’ll see the value that you can get from education, AI-based crypto trading tools, weekly community prediction contest with NWC giveaway, community grant program, upcoming copy trading feature & NFT game, metaverse, etc. Plus, the community on Telegram is so healthy and exciting.
1347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiner's with Zero investment. on: December 08, 2021, 01:21:13 PM
In my opinion, I would call them as “spectators” rather than “Bitcoiners with zero investment”. Unless someone donated BTCs to them and keep HODLing of course, it can be “very lessly” considered as they still do not want to invest out of their pockets. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
1348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't lose your profit unnecessarily on: December 07, 2021, 08:42:26 AM
To be honest, I've been in those times that I've lost a lot on crypto especially the 2018 bear run. I understand that people are in panic and call it quit when the market crashes. However for me, I usually don't take profit if it's unnecessary when it comes to the long term coins and tokens that I have. But for others that are short-term like memecoins and shitcoins that doesn't have fundamentals and real use cases, we have a reason to cashing them out before it gets worse.

And yes I have experienced that when a certain coin or token I have already lost, some of them gained for me. It's how crypto world works nowadays. Until now, I haven't sold most of my long-term coins and tokens because of my belief in their impressive developments, roadmaps, team transparency, etc.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is the Bitcoin symbol going to be added to the keyboard? on: December 07, 2021, 08:20:57 AM
In my own opinion, instead of an additional BTC button they should add a certain keyboard shortcut about it. I would love to see that one day as BTC adoption continues no matter where the crypto market goes.

But for mobile phones and tablets, they should try adding the Bitcoin symbol in the numbers section. Just my opinion.
1350  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investors their mind on: December 05, 2021, 12:19:34 PM
It's joyous to make gains in trading. The problem is how does one control his mind when there is a huge lose

Most of the traders who are like that are newbies, beginners and those who have lack of risk management. Back then when I was still a beginner in the cryptocurrency space, I was also prone in getting joyous of market pumping and cannot control my mind and emotions when on a huge dip like in 2018.

Right now I just simply learn that whatever amount that I invest or trade, I accept that it’s “dead money” and would not care anymore if I lose.
1351  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weekly FLIP on: December 05, 2021, 12:06:07 PM
Since im in the crypto, i've seen that almost every week there is some opurtunity to trade but im afraid to do it.

Can someone open my eyes how to look for the best moment in the week.

Big THANKS. Smiley

I know how it feels to be afraid in taking risks despite that there are some opportunities along the way. There are no “best moments” every week because no one cannot predict or control the market. In other words, the movement of the cryptocurrency market is unpredictable and can go up or down without warning.

Here’s the thing. Start small first. Think of an amount that you can afford losing no matter what happens in the market. Coz’ if you keep that mentality every week by being afraid, you will stay afraid for a very long time. Time to get out of your comfort zone, throw that fear away, and try at least small amounts to trade first.
1352  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmart exchange hacked. on: December 05, 2021, 11:53:22 AM
This is really bad. Hot wallets are the “hot” target of these hackers nowadays in centralized exchanges and wallets. However, there’s no way for them to get past through the cold wallets unless they know the seed phrases and mnemonic phrases from the owner which is impossible. I haven’t deposited some of the coins and tokens that I have on my wallet yet where they can be traded on Bitmart exchange. Not safe to use centralized exchanges in storing our hard-earned cryptos.
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF I SEND BTC TO A FRIEND/FAMILY, DOES IT MEAN THEY CAN KNOW MY WALLET BALANCE? on: December 05, 2021, 11:47:44 AM
If I transfer BTC to a friend/family, they now know my wallet address, correct? Does this mean they can see all the transactions I have done from that wallet? It seems like wallet information is public except for identity, but that would be forfeited once I make a transfer, right?

Of course as the blockchain itself of BTC is a distributed public ledger that is tamper-proof that can be seen by anyone, especially your close family members and friends once you have sent them some BTC or any other cryptocurrency. They can check the history of your transactions from the very beginning. That’s what crypto transactions are.

Unless you don’t want them to see your main wallet, you can simply create another Bitcoin wallet and deposit some BTC. But make sure the sender is not from your main wallet, but from an exchange. Or much better if you knew someone who do P2P transactions.
1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter to pay content creators in bitcoin on: December 05, 2021, 11:43:25 AM
I’ve consistently been using Twitter for posting crypto-related stuff and as a content creator myself. However, I still have long ways to go as I don’t have a lot of engagement on my posts yet. However, I’m taking it one day at a time and keep building till I got decent engagements for every tweet I make. This would be really a good opportunity for content creators who are using Twitter.
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: In 2021 to 2022 you decide your life and wealth on: December 04, 2021, 01:40:44 PM
As we are still under the horrible COVID-19 pandemic and never stops due to the threat of Omicron variant, yes this is crucial times for us in deciding our lives and wealth. In the early months of COVID-19 pandemic, I was struggling to find my footing as I can’t save money due to low salary while under strict lockdown. However, I didn’t give up by doing extra effort on my side gigs on top of my small paying job and it paid off until now.

Right now I am still saving more money for the future and not stopping to increase my monthly income coz’ until now I am not yet satisfied. I still consider myself within the low income range, but I ain’t stoppin’!
1356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My newbie trading experience on: December 04, 2021, 01:17:33 PM
Sometime early January 2021 I started my trading journey without anyone putting me through, I study the market movement of a particular token and analyze its weekly price volatility.
I started trading with $200 and within a month I made $450 including my capital. Since then I suffered a loss and have recovered but need trading knowledge that will take me to the next level with high profits.

If you have taken out the profit and retain your initial trading capital, that would be a good move. This is how cryptocurrency market works. There are winners and losers. There’s no way that you can win always. Always expect the unexpected, just like what happened recently in the crypto market selloff.

It’s much better to spend more time learning how to manage your risks efficiently. Learning about trading skills is a good thing, but doesn’t guarantee or promise you profits in executing your trades.
1357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never sell for a loss - is a Myth !! on: December 04, 2021, 01:13:40 PM
I have heard many people say that never sell for a loss but what does it actually mean ?

Assuming you have bought a coin at $10 and the price goes down to $9 but you don't sell.
You could have placed a stop loss at $9 but you take "Never sell at a loss" so seriously that you decide to not put a stop loss.
The price goes down to $8 but you are too good at HODL. Suddenly the market crashes and the price goes down to $5.
You could have limited your losses at $9 but now your portfolio is down by 50%.
Now the price has to go 100% so that you breakeven with no loss no profit whereas you could have bought back at $5 and gained potential profits using a stop loss.

This is why I think "Never sell for a loss" is a myth and we should always use a stop loss and play safe with a good risk to reward strategy.

Stop loss is the key. It has always been when it comes to trading coins and tokens. I remember the time that I was still into copy trading. Although that most of my copy trading campaigns are at a loss, I always make sure to set stop loss. Same thing with futures trading.
1358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you like to trading with meme coins?? on: December 04, 2021, 01:08:25 PM
I can say that you can make profit with meme coin only if you are on high alert with the chart movement and got lucky when it pumped all of a sudden. However, it’s still very risky than investing on long term coins and tokens in the market. I had no luck in trading meme coins, as 99.9% of them are at a loss lol.
1359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: December 04, 2021, 11:52:43 AM
No disrespect towards exchanges, but as long I do not have the full custody of my coins and tokens, it’s not safe to use them as a storage. Not even Binance is exempted from getting compromised last time. Whatever security measures that they have in place, these hackers and intruders are just one step ahead finding ways to break that barrier. I can only use those exchanges to trade coins and tokens.

Hardware wallets are simply the best to store our hard-earned assets and coins. SafePal is the cheapest hardware wallet right now at $49.99 (currently on a discount from the original price of $69.99) and I’ve just unboxed it earlier. Ledger Nano S and Trezor are also great hardware wallets, but they are kinda pricey. SecuX, which is Taiwan-based is also a hardware wallet with a unique design, which I also have that too shipped via FedEx.

Worth the investment to store my assets safely than relying on exchanges and mobile apps.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still worth to invest Bitcoin? on: December 04, 2021, 11:41:28 AM
Your money, your responsibility, your risk.

Only you can answer whether it’s still worth investing on Bitcoin or not. Let me give you a scenario.

A guy is asking, “Is it the best time to buy Bitcoin?”. But he never took action.

Today it’s consolidating around $46k+ to $47k+.

What if tomorrow, BTC slighty pumped to $48k, for sure this guy is going to ask the same question and never take action.
What if on Monday, BTC pumped above $50k, this guy is gonna ask again the same question and still not taking action.

The thing is no one can answer it for you. Yes, BTC is a long term cryptocurrency hands-down, but the question that you’re asking that is it’s still worth buying BTC or not, there’s no accurate answer. Only you can answer that question.

Whatever advice you get from the experienced, only you who can really answer that question and take action coz’ it’s your money. You just prepare for something unexpecting like a sudden crash, etc.

Only invest and trade an amount that you can afford to lose and do not go all-in.
