1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: April 05, 2023, 11:11:43 AM
I never expected anything less from a man like Musk, many people are saying he can't manage Twitter and some are saying he had lost a lot since he took over Twitter, where are you guys now? I knew this man is up to something, a single Tweet about Dogecoin yesterday the whole market get into good shape again, I thought the Hype was gone as many said, Dogecoin and Shiba inu will still surprise a lot of people in 2024, but I have a good feeling about this. Elon is coming with the least surprise anyone could ever think about. This move benefits Bitcoin and even Ethereum, if think I am wrong? then you must be blind.
1342  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: April 05, 2023, 10:23:59 AM
Hi there,

I'm part of a team developing a crypto/blockchain game that has big $$ prize potential. I'm doing some research and hoping this community can help. If you guys have any insight/thoughts on the following questions please share them. We are really trying to build something that is enjoyable for the crypto gaming/gambling community.

- What are some current pain points in the crypto gaming/gambling space for players?
- What would you like to see?
- What makes one game fun to play -- more so than other competitors that have similar games (ex: why you enjoy playing crypto poker on X site rather than site A)?
- Who are some absolute Degens in the space?
- Aside from BitcoinTalk (this forum) where else do you get your news that you trust (which newsletters, sites, which Youtubers, any twitter accounts)?

We just want to build this game the right way that players actually enjoy playing in addition to potential of winning big....  Grin

Thanks all.
A fun question from a so-called developer, you said you are a blockchain game developer, if you are saying fact why are you asking people what makes a game fun to play? Remember you are the developer here? Your job is to figure that out on your own, no one is going to give you an idea about a fun new game you can build, if you don't have a clue you shouldn't be a game developer in the first place, the job of a game developer is to create a fun addictive game for players, the fun and mechanics of the game is what players need.
1343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the significant of bitcoin halving on: April 05, 2023, 08:00:21 AM
The news of bitcoin is going viral in some part of Africa, including my country where I am from. This makes me eager to know about bitcoin and it's block chain technology,to enable me key into the cryptospace. I am from a third world country and don't have any money to buy bitcoin.

I decided to look for where I can learn and have the proper knowledge of bitcoin first, before I can think on how to buy and invest in bitcoin so that I don't end up regretting any of my actions after I have purchase bitcoin. I understand that fiat currency in no time will depreciate to nothing, due to high rate of inflation. This has made me to keep wondering,if bitcoin can maintain ones monetary value if purchase as an assest.

I have read about bitcoin halving which will becoming up next year, what is the significant of this and how come that this happens ? Is it caused by miners or that is how bitcoin technology was designed ?
Gracias
It's fine that you don't have money to invest in Bitcoin right now, you will be able to focus on learning more about Bitcoin instead of thinking how to make fast money investing in Bitcoin, you are welcome to this forum, this is the right place to know everything about crypto and particularly, Bitcoin, here are things that I passed through when I was a newbie like you.

1. Bitcoin is a long-term investment, there is no get-rich-quick scheme investing in Bitcoin.

2. If you've learned about Bitcoin's usefulness and advantages, always research which Bitcoin wallets are the safest place to store your Bitcoin. Custodial wallets are generally red flags.

3. If you accumulate Bitcoin in a bear market, there will be no need to worry about price fluctuations.
1344  Other / Off-topic / Re: Prepare for the life when you get old on: April 04, 2023, 06:52:46 PM
Saving more money is not the solution, I have noticed that most older men today get used to the jobs or businesses they are into, that even when the job is no more doing fine they will still stay, hoping that things will get better.

I am not saying that's the case with your uncle, but while growing up always be open to a new idea, do not get too attached to a business because most business is time-based, in the future the business might lose interest and you will start making less money.

In short, most businesses don't last a lifetime, this is the mistake that our elderly men makes and as they get older, switching to another money-making business will be hard for them, it is not too late for your uncle, until the late 70s, people his age still handle businesses very well.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you still strong holding btc on: April 04, 2023, 05:25:34 PM
If you believe that the price of Bitcoin will be higher by 2024 then you should keep holding, I have been in crypto for a very long time to be confused by a small price bounce from 17k to 28k, but now I believe I have a better understanding about the crypto market cycle.

The only advice I can give you is to follow your mind, those who worry about their holdings and need to confirm first from other people if they are still holding their assets are new people who are new to Bitcoin investment, this is a normal feeling, but if you invest the money that you are not ready to lose you will be in worries, the fear of losing than money will easily let you make the wrong choice.

If your entry price for Bitcoin was at 17k or 15k you are still in a safe position, because that price looks a lot like the market bottom, although this is still a prediction but the chances that we have already hit the bottom is very high.
1346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do your own research on: April 04, 2023, 04:38:33 PM
Your second point and third point are still talking about the same thing, as for the fourth point, you can't know when to buy and sell simply with doing your own research, that's why mamy people on this forum have advised others many times to use DCA ( Dollar Cost Average ) to avoid missing the bottom, saying you know when to buy and sell is like saying you know what the market bottom looks like, this is very hard and very tricky, you could end up shooting yourself in the foot.

My advice.

Do not try to time the market bottom, no one knows what the market bottom looks like, we can only speculate and guess, and also do not listen to crypto influencers, they are so misleading too.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to gamble on: April 04, 2023, 03:56:50 PM
Each gambler has their own free time to gamble, so there's no such thing as the best time to gamble.

I can decide to gamble at any time I want, just like everyone else who gambles. Afternoons are the busiest times of the day in this world and I don't believe that anyone can gamble in the afternoon unless they have a lot of free time or all they do in their life is to gamble, this type of people don't have any job secured.

For football bets, you need to set aside time to place your bets because the match can start when they fix it. Sports betting is time-based and gamblers who prefer sports bet will have to create time even if they are at work. Placing a bet doesn't take much time, but it will take more time to monitor the game.
1348  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: April 03, 2023, 01:56:58 PM
Borrowing money to invest does not seem like a profitable choice. Although I have no experience in investing, I don't dare to invest if it is the result of borrowing.
It's better to play it safe than have to borrow to invest.

Investment is not something to be forced.

A borrower can benefit from Bitcoin if the loan shark or bank etc does not give a countdown period to repay the loan, I guess it is impossible to see such opportunity this days.

Bitcoin is a good investment no matter what type of money you using to invest but the problem with a loan is the lenders, you won't be able to have peace of mind because you will be thinking about what could happen every time.

If very bad news comes up about Bitcoin you will have a hard time sleeping at night, for the sake of peace it is better to use the money you worked for you invest in Bitcoin instead of borrowing money.

Panic here and there does not make for a healthy life, and a healthy life is a wealthy life. Do not place pressure on yourself.
1349  Economy / Speculation / Re: I missed the bottom or i have time to invest on: April 03, 2023, 11:40:49 AM
Did you just grab this chart online or on the trading view website? If you are this good at reading charts you should have already known that the bottom is near and you would have been buying Bitcoin since June of 2022.

You are wasting your time if you are trying to get the real market Bottom, those who tried always miss the bottom so instead of trying to be a smart person you should focus on using the dollar cost average, this is the only way anyone can beat the market bottom.

Moreover, your chart means nothing, it appears that the market is bottoming out but can still go lower at any time, it's a lot of stress as you can see, I no longer bother looking at charts, I focus more on any negative news and press the buy button.

Most times, Negative news affects Bitcoin and it creates a new buying opportunity, this is a better strategy compared to trying to know the target bottom.
1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mind is unrest on: April 03, 2023, 10:09:07 AM
If I'm not mistaken, if you want to create a safe cold storage using USB stick, you're need to have a computer or PC which never connected with internet to prevent from virus or malware. Since you're can't afford to buy a hardware wallet, how you can find a computer or PC which never connected with internet? a company PC is obviously not safe and the owner might installing something in order to track your phone.

There's a guide about this How to Install Tails OS on USB flash drive for Wallet Purpose
The fact that I still run an old core 2duo CPU in my house makes me the living proof that some people still have old PCs with core 2 duo CPUs in their homes.

I also have another powerful PC with the latest Intel CPU in my house, but I use the old core 2 PC for testing networks for airdrops, while the higher end PC is used for video editing, content, and gaming.

Just because the OP cannot afford a hardware wallet doesn't mean he or she has no PC at home.

If I were OP I will uninstall the wallet from my smartphone for ease of mind, since I wrote down my recovery seed offline at home I don't have to worry when I uninstall the app clean from the phone.

I understand that one needs to be careful because there are so many tools in the world today, just because your smartphone has pin lock and fingerprint security doesn't mean there can't be a way around those.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 03, 2023, 08:04:37 AM
I am just curious about how does online casino pay for their promotion on their influencers? Where does their earning comes from? How will you get scammed when you try online casino? How can you tell that online casino is safe?
You can get scammed by online casinos if you choose the shady ones, there are things to be cautious about before depositing money on any online casino.

1. Make sure the casino is not a brand new casino.
2. Find reviews online about the casino.
3. Use the Bitcointalk forum to your advantage, the less scam you will fall upon.
4. A well-reputable online casino that are into crypto will always be on this forum.

Casinos makes money faster than any business that I know, and they are capable of paying money for any promotions or advertisement, they can pay influencers to talk about their casino online or other social media, but I recommend sticking with this forum to lessen your chance of getting rekt by scammers.

The higher the reputation of a online casino the safer, the older a online casino have been in operation the safer too, so do your own research.
1352  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 01, 2023, 10:19:58 AM
Wealthy men always have a taste for more money, you can't be wealthy and decide to shun off money, you will go broke in a matter of years, rich men use their money to make more money, this is the way, even if you make millions of dollars, the moment you stop thinking about how to keep growing that's the moment you will start falling, it doesn't happen in a day, it's a gradual process.

Invest your money and teach your children about money, so they won't waste all your wealth after you are no longer alive.
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: April 01, 2023, 08:28:49 AM
I'd you can't spend your Bitcoin why are you using Bitcoin? I have used Bitcoin to buy many things in my life, 80% of all my properties and belongings are from Bitcoin money, I don't feel bad about spending Bitcoin because I will get Bitcoin in another way, it's like saying you feel bad eating your favorite food when you can go out and buy that same food over and over every day or when you like, there is nothing to worry about unless you stay out of Bitcoin and decide to never get into Bitcoin again.
1354  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to use crypto to miximize profits through sport betting. on: April 01, 2023, 07:47:18 AM
Using crypto to bet will not maximize your profit, it is just a medium of exchange like Fiat currency or Gold, so if you place a bet and luck is not on your side your crypto will be gone or deducted, there is no any form of mercy because you are using Crypto to place your bets. You need your skills sharpened if the game you are playing or about to play required skills, and if it's a soccer game pray for some luck to be on your side because no amount of skills are required here since you are not part of the soccer team.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A victory for Bitcoin on: April 01, 2023, 06:48:48 AM
This is nothing but a dream, before Balaji made this prediction there have been so many predictions like this in the past, and none of them became reality.

Bitcoin can one day become a million dollars in value but that's a very far journey in the future and it might never come true, maybe something better than Bitcoin will come and the whole focus on Bitcoin will be shifted to the new technology, who knows?

So let's face reality because that's the only thing we have right now, if Bitcoin is going to make a new ATH I do not expect more than 100k per BTC, wake up to reality.

1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Was the Only Cryptocurrency? on: March 31, 2023, 01:02:35 PM
The government and financial institutions under the government can never be comfortable with having Bitcoin around, even if Bitcoin is the only digital currency that exists it still doesn't make it lovable by the government because it's simply a decentralized digital currency, the founder is unknown and this was made for the people only in mind, it's a complete anti-government digital currency, nothing can erase this reality.
1357  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bidcent: A multiplayer blockchain game. Decentrallized, safe, uncheatable. on: March 31, 2023, 11:50:53 AM
Free from centralized manipulation? Are centralized gaming platforms and decentralized gambling platforms not controlled by humans? So how can you say that it's free from manipulation?

Decentralized gaming platforms are the hardest to trust, the platform might not be regulated or have the access to open the business, meaning running illegally, also this platform has zero reputation and nothing about reputation have been built yet on this forum.

For example, where is the link to Bidcent's announcement thread? Words are never enough to make people have your back, your actions should speak louder than these empty words.

Please adjust, do create an ANN thread
1358  Economy / Economics / Re: Al Transforming Job Market on: March 31, 2023, 09:42:13 AM
It's happening gradually; for example, during COVID-19, some robotics were assigned in the hospital to assist doctors, while others were delivering food to patients in the hospital and keeping lonely patients company. As this continues to emerge, the use of human power in some companies will be less required, which will make some people lose their jobs unless they have some better skills or required some new skill that will fit the new job opportunities that the company will need then. I have read in a paper from 2021 that a company has bought an AI robot to serve the purpose of a receptionist in their company, I just can't get the paper any more.

I am wondering how many people will lose their jobs because of AI? Why can't humans be the ones assisting these people? Many people are jobless and they need a job to survive, yet we are ready to replace them with AI? You guys think this is an achievement but it is really not, this should happen only if there are so many jobs available and there are no more people to fill in the jap, people need to get paid to survive and take care of their families, AI robots are making the chances to become lower.
1359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of accepting bitcoin in business on: March 31, 2023, 08:27:54 AM
There are two advantages of accepting Bitcoin in my country.

1} To avoid the devaluation of fiat, every year our currency depreciates significantly in value, there is no reason to accept Fiat and save money in the bank, they lose value too fast. I keep money in the Bank because of expenses.

2.} If your business is flourishing, you can easily gather some Sats from your earnings and redirect the rest to your business if you have a lot of Sats to spare.
1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on NFT holders on: March 30, 2023, 09:58:31 AM
Biden is the culprit, that's why this man is not coming back as the predisnde of the United States of America soon, he has simply made the US a cruel place for crypto holders and investors, and he wants all the piece of the pie using high Tax rate on everything crypto, this is stupidly insane, this is one reason that I can quit a country for because all my life is built on crypto investment, trading, and mining, USA is not a place for someone like me.

Right now China must have noticed that Bitcoin and crypto could be beneficial for their people I think that's why they now become friendly to crypto adoption, even when their CBDC is in place already, it just show how stupid USA is right now .
