1341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 26, 2023, 07:55:41 PM
You are right. Chelsea management should learn from their mistakes. They sacked Thomas Tuchel. The new coach cannot improve the team. They have recruited several star players, paying high wages. But still, their performance is poor. Signing Neymar would be another bad decision for Chelsea. Neymar's fitness is not suitable for the Premier League. However, Neymar's move to Chelsea was purely rumored. I would say that the chances of this rumor being true are very low. Perhaps Chelsea will try to bring in a young player.

The only issue I see in the signing of Neymar is that he is injury prone and Chelsea needs a top striker more than they need for a left winger. Aside from that, I don't see an issue with Chelsea signing Neymar. Neymar has more goals than all Chelsea players this season. He has more assists than all the Chelsea attackers combined this season, and he's having a bad season. He is more creative than all the current Chelsea players, and that's what Chelsea lacks.

People underrate Neymar for reasons I do not understand. He has about 221 goals for both PSG an Barcelona, joint all time top scorer for Brazil with Pele with 77 goals, has about 153 assist for Barca and PSG alone. I don't think any player in thehistory of Chelsea have achieved those numbers. And aside the stats, he actually a very good player.

Personally, I'd like Neymar at Chelsea because I don't see any left winger in the game right now that is better than Neymar. The only reasons I wont take Neymar right now are his injuries and Chelsea needs a top striker more. His price and salary can also be an issue.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 26, 2023, 03:18:26 PM
The following team will be faced by Arsenal and Manchester City after Round 33:

Manchester City
  • Fulham vs Manchester City
  • Manchester City vs West Ham United
  • Manchester City vs Leeds
  • Everton vs Manchester City
  • Manchester City vs Chelsea

Arsenal
  • Arsenal vs Chelsea
  • Newcastle United vs Arsenal
  • Arsenal vs Brighton
  • Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal
  • Arsenal vs Wolverhampton

This is the major problem Arsenal are going to have. Even if Arsenal wins Man City tonight which is very difficult, they're going to find it really hard to win the remaining five games because they are all tougher games when compared to the Man City games. If it was before when Arsenal was in deadly form, I would be certain that they can win all those games, but now, I'm not too sure.
But first things first. Let them win today's game first if they can, then they can focus on the other games one at a time.
I hope Arsenal wins the league this time around, they deserve it.
1343  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do not waste your time on: April 26, 2023, 03:02:39 PM
I don't see spending time on social media or doing other mundane things as a waste of time.
It becomes a waste of time when you allow those things to take up your productive time.
Social media is a tool that can be used for different purposes. A lot of people make money from just posting and commenting on social media, so you can just generalize that they're wasting their time. Some people use social media platforms to advertise their goods or business, you can also say those people are wasting their time.

Aside from the business part of social media, there is nothing actually wrong with just being on social media. Most of us, if not all of us have at least one social media site that we prefer and use, including you OP, so should I say you're wasting your time when you use social media?
You don't always have to make life seem too complicated and stiff, it doesn't hurt to just have fun.
What's life if we can't enjoy it?
1344  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: April 26, 2023, 02:52:05 PM
Addiction is bad. No matter what you are addicted to, be it a good thing or a bad thing. Excess of everything is bad. Drinking alcohol is not bad but being addicted to it is the bad part.
Investing is good, but when you get addicted to it and use every little money you have for investment to the extent it begins to affect your well-being and health, then that's not healthy.
I have never met someone who is addicted to investing but I believe an investment addiction will lead you to a lot of scam investments because you will be enticed with every single investment scheme that comes your way, legit or not.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 25, 2023, 07:35:05 PM
It's high time that Chelsea must avoid engaging further in trial and error at this time. Premier League is a highly competitive arena, and having a veteran like Pochettino on club would be of great advantage. It's important that Boehly doesn't intervene at every stage of the process, particularly when it comes to player signings. Ideally, a coach should be able to choose players who fit their style of play. Let's hope that Chelsea owner Boehly will refrain from interfering too much with the club's affairs once a new manager takes the jobs.

Chelsea wants to hire Pochettino and you think it's a good idea?
Pochettino is still like a trial-and-error signing. He has a very poor record in all the clubs he has managed. He coached Tottenham and all he could achieve was the top 4. His biggest achievement at Tottenham was getting to the champions league final.
Okay, let's assume it's because Spurs don't have enough good players, he was at PSG and he was very awful there. His PSG team played really bad football. His style made the players all look average, Messi included.
Chelsea should better look for a good manager. They should forget about this premier league experience that they are looking for.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: April 25, 2023, 05:05:05 PM
The FA Cup final match will be much more interesting where the rivalry of the two Manchesters will be at stake, but I am a little doubtful about Manchester United's performance and talking about whether Pep Guardiola will rotate his players I don't think so, because he will try to win three trophies for the season.

I don't like being too confident in my prediction when it comes to matches like this but I'm pretty confident about this one.
This is a slam dunk case for Manchester City. United doesn't stand a chance. And no, I'm not judging based on their performance in the semi-final against Brighton, I'm judging based on the form of Manchester City.
When Man City are in this kind of form, it's so, so hard to stop them. It doesn't matter how complete the Manchester United squad is, they won't be winning that final.
Then there is an added bonus for Man City. The final would be played on the 3rd of June. That is after the league and Champions League ended so Manchester City will have only the FA Cup final to focus on without distractions.
If they lose the league and Champions, that will be a motivation to win the FA Cup. If they win the League and Champions League, that will also be a motivation for them to win the FA Cup.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 25, 2023, 04:46:16 PM
Camavinga may also try to prevent haaland. It has alaba as well who is ready to block haaland's movement. Haaland has a good physic, but it doesn't mean if he can't be stopped.

From past experiences, we should know by now that man-marking a player always ends up badly for the team doing the man-marking. When you put a particular player to try and stop a certain player, then you're asking the player to 100% be on the player his marking.
If either or both Camavinga and Alaba are tasked with the job of stopping Halland, that limits them to only stopping Halland. They won't be able to express themselves freely in the game because the moment they may want to express themselves may be the moment Halland would exploit.
I like players to be free on the field, and stop the opposing players as a team because if we're being honest, everybody in Man City is a treat, you can't be focused on certain players and leave certain players. Every single player in Man City can hurt you, including their goalkeeper.
Halland and every other player in Man City can be stopped but you can only stop them as a team.
1348  Economy / Economics / Re: Concers About Going in Business with a Friend on: April 24, 2023, 11:42:05 PM
I don't see anything wrong with doing business with friends or family. In fact, I believe it's friends we should go into business with more. Issues arise when you treat the business relationship as a friendship relationship. There should be a difference.
Take all the precautionary measures you'll take if you were doing that business with someone else when dealing with a friend. Involve contracts, lawyers and every other  paper work necessary.

Also, know the kind of friends you go into a particular business with. Because the person is a friend or relative doesn't mean you should go into business with him. Go into business with a friend because he/she is capable of handling the business and you can trust them to a certain level.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 24, 2023, 11:10:25 PM
Wow, two goals in two minutes and Roma's chances to equalize have vanished again - 3-1 at the moment. It is rather paradoxical that such a viscous heavy game has become so productive. A bad surprise from Roma (I predicted them 1-0), but in Serie A you shouldn't be surprised at anything. It is a pity that now they have seriously worsened their chances for the top 4.

Roma, Inter, and Milan are all birds of the same feather. It's as if they're fighting for who will NOT make it to the top four. Don't be surprised if Milan goes ahead to lose their next game. Yea, I know how competitive the Serie A is this season but at this point of the season, teams that are fighting for the champions league spot ought to do better.
See how Juventus came from nowhere and pushed them down. They shouldn't have allowed that to happen. They should have been able to take advantage of the struggle of Juventus to gain points during that time so even the reversal of the sanctions on Juventus wouldn't have placed them in third position.

There are only two points between them and with Juventus back to third the fight just got tougher among the three teams because there's only one available champions league spot left.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having bitcoin gives confidence on: April 24, 2023, 07:03:55 PM
I think I disagree with the part where you said "Bitcoin gives peace of mind". Bitcoin only gives peace of mind when it's doing well. If it's not then it's the opposite. It's hard watching your investment lose value. That is why patience is needed when it comes to Bitcoin.

I believe having any investment gives confidence. There's this confidence that comes with having an investment in someone that is yielding profit or would yield profit in the future. When you have an asset that is appreciating in value, there's always a good feeling about that, but when this asset is depreciating in value, rest of mind will be the last kind of feeling you'll feel at that point.
1351  Economy / Economics / Re: "Greedflation" has gone too far! on: April 24, 2023, 05:54:35 PM
This happens on all levels, not just in big corporations. If you look at the local vendors, the same thing happens.
Whenever there is a little surge in the price of goods, vendors look for different ways to exploit it. They use that same as an excuse to increase the price of whatever commodity or service they offer.
I think that is what capitalism is. I mean, it was not meant to be perfect, everything can be exploited that is why there are regulations.
Greeed plays a vital role in the encouragement of this exploitation. Humans are greedy and looking for ways to get the better of others.
1352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sometimes a good explanation is all it takes. on: April 22, 2023, 08:52:38 PM
To be honest, trying to explain crypto to someone that sees it a whole different way is draining to an extent. I meet a lot of people that have just categorized crypto as a scam and they see everybody involved in it as foolish or a fraud. In fact, some just instantly see you as an internet fraudster if you tell them you're a crypto trader.
It's like trig to convince a madman that he's a madman. Both of you will end up looking like man men.  So most times I just don't engage but if the person is someone that is willing to learn I explain further.
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 22, 2023, 08:36:25 PM
I think Chelsea have run out of coaching options and now Pochettino is the only hope for them to become Chelsea coach next season. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is certainly also trying hard to bring in a credible and experienced coach, but with the current team situation, most coaches will definitely also reject offers from Chelsea. Quite concerned about what Chelsea is experiencing this season, even though they are one of the big EPL teams and due to management's inability to manage the club, this has had a huge impact on the team's performance in any competition.

At this point, I think Chelsea is confused. They don't know what they want. They didn't go all out for Nagelsmann that is why they lost him. They're looking for a coach that has experienced the EPL and that is not a very good idea. Pep and Klopp never had experience in the EPL before they became the managers of their respective clubs but they both did and doing well.
Potter and Lampard both have a degree of experience with the league but they both failed at Chelsea so what's the point of still[cking to that same philosophy?  They also had a chance to sign Luis Erique but they refused because of the same lack of experience in the EPL excuse. They might end up with an average coach if they're not careful.
To me, the Pochettino they want to hire is a wrong decision, but what do I know?
1354  Economy / Economics / Re: Why America Can Be The Biggest Economy In The World? on: April 21, 2023, 07:58:18 PM
There are a lot of factors that made America what they are today but I like to focus on "capitalism" because I feel it's the biggest factor.
America made the country easy to do business in and with. Very few big multinational corporations today don't have a branch or do business in America. If you look at the list of the 50 richest people in the world, 25 are Americans.
America is a good and big market for any kind of business. It is not called "the land of opportunities" for no reason.

The Soviets, if they had not broken up wouldn't have been able to achieve what America has achieved today because they were mainly focused on military might. Secondly, at the peak of the Soviet Union, almost, if not all companies were state-owned. America on the other hand, focused on military might but they're also fully focused on other parts of the country, and a lot of their companies were private-owned companies.
1355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Resource Control in Africa on: April 21, 2023, 11:09:30 AM
Last 10 years?

Are you kidding?

Africa's problems start from way back when Foreign powers evaded and scrambled to colonize their land, brought in slave traded and stripped them off their culture, and they are feeling the effects to this day.

I agree that Africa is feeling the effect of those eras but can you still solely blame the Europeans for today's mess in Africa?
Let's get some things straight, Since before the first Europeans stepped foot in Africa, the Slave trade has been a thing, maybe not in every part of the continent and not in large volume as it was with the Europeans, but slave trade was in existence.
I know the Europeans have their fair share of the blame for what Africa is today, but should that be an excuse? It's like you blaming an outsider for the state of your house. Yes, the Europeans have done Africa dirty, so now that they've left why can't the leaders of these countries put their heads together and work for a better country?
I'll tell you why they can't, GREED. They don't care about a better country because a better country will mean they will be restricted or be in jail. They just care about enriching themselves with state funds and resources.

And this is hard to change because these African countries don't have a working system. These greedy politicians are the system. Whatever they want is what they'll get.
So what do the U.S., China, and Europe do? Exploit this greed. They use the greed of these politicians to work in their favor and the favor of their countries. Thereby making Africa worst by the day.
1356  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay your debt with monkeys! on: April 21, 2023, 10:20:16 AM
Hahaha!!!!!! I don't have monkeys, maybe they can accept some local birds around my compound.
Sometimes when people celebrate that the Chinese Yuen will replace the dollar as the global exchange currency, I just feel they don't know Beijing. Chinese give loans with very harsh conditions and they are heartless when they want to collect back their loans. Defaulting on Chinese loans can have severe consequences such as loss of the territorial integrity of defaulting nations. China is a higher version of the lender in Williams Shakespeare's play Merchant of Vernice called Shylock.

What I've been saying since.
I get really surprised when I see people presenting China to be this saint that is coming to save the world from capitalism and  American imperialism. I think they just hate the U.S. more than they love China because I don't see how China can be better than the U.S. And I also don't see how the yuan will be better than the dollar.

Sri Lanka has previously handed over a port to companies that are owned by the Chinese government.
China always seems to be fighting American imperialism but that is the exact same thing they (china) are doing. The Maldives or at least a part of it is also at risk of being owned by China, but let's keep believing they are the messiah that has come to save the world from imperialism.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 20, 2023, 03:05:03 PM
It's true that Manchester City's chances of winning the treble winners this season are so great, but I think I can only see the FA Cup title that they can get at the moment, and for the other two competitions, it's still not certain because the opponents are still quite strong. This week Manchester City will only play the FA Cup semifinal match against Sheffield and the EPL match against Brighton has been postponed, perhaps because Manchester City's busy schedule of matches has made some players feel tired if they have to compete in three different competitions during the week.

Manchester City is a team that can be pretty unstoppable when they are in the kind of form they're in right now.
In the league the major huddle they have is Arsenal and I'm sure they will win if I'm hoping that Arsenal wins that game. If Man City wins all their remaining league matches then they have won the league and we both know they are capable of winning all their remaining matches.
As far as I'm concerned, they are the winners of the FA Cup. If they win the semis, whoever they meet in the final they will win, even if it's Manchester United.

The champions league is the most difficult of all and that is because they will face Madrid in the final. If they succeed in knocking out Madrid somehow then the champions league is theirs too because they will win anybody that qualifies between Milan and Inter.

It could be a very good season for City and at the same time it could still be a bad season for them because while they can win all, they're still in a position to lose all but I doubt that is going to happen.

1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 20, 2023, 02:55:32 PM
The search for Christophe Galtier’s replacement on the Paris Saint-Germain bench appears to be underway already. However, I have a strong feeling that Mourinho would be ready to leave AS Roma to pursue another challenge at the highest European level. Recently he’s been linked to Chelsea, Al-Nassr and PSG but only certain clubs would get him to move on from As Roma, with whom he is under contract until 2024. PSG won’t be a good move, considering the demanding nature of the club and how they don’t have a good football model.

PSG won't be a bad move for Mourinho. He loves a challenge and the PSG job is a very big challenge. PSG is a team that is not scared of spending money to recruit players, so that won't be an issue for Mourinho.
The problem he is going to have at PSG would be his style of play. It would be interesting to see how he turns PSG from an all-out attacking team to a conservative team. A team that doesn't attack all the time but attacks only when they have the opportunity and catch the opponent off guard.

I know the kind of coach Mourinho is and all he has achieved in football, but if I was PSG I wouldn't hire him. PSG needs a modern-day coach that can make use of all the potential in the team. They also need a coach that can unify the dressing room, a coach with perfect man-management skills, Jose is not that type of Manager.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: April 20, 2023, 10:35:13 AM
The absence of Rashford, Varane, and Martinez is giving me the feeling that Man United will not win today's game.
I want to bet on Sevilla but I don't want to waste my money.Grin. I lost money on both games yesterday so I decided I'll take a break today but it's looking like that break will be interrupted.
I know Sevilla is not in a bad form this season, but thanks to Man United they were able to draw the first leg at Old Trafford. Now Sevilla is playing at home, with three crucial Man United players absent, and then there is the added motivation they might have gotten after the draw in the first leg.
I'm just going to take the risk.

There isn't a foolproof answer to this question... Personally, i have never tried to convince anybody to invest in anything. Not my parents, not my brother, not my friends...

If it goes wrong, they will always feel like you were responsible for their loss, and that's a burden i don't want... But that's just my personal opinion.

I've read through all the replies and although there were different responses, I think I have gotten the best answer to my question because most members gave similar answers.
I was not trying to convince my friend, I just educated him a bit on the difference between Bitcoin and altcoins. I don't convince people to invest in anything at all, not even Bitcoin.
From the replies, I think I would just help him understand Bitcoin better and leave the rest for him. If he wants to buy then fine, if he doesn't, still fine.
