The site claims:

Quote
We have raised sufficient funds to cover the launch, but we would like to provide Mega free of charge for as long as possible. If you would like to be part of the success story, please get in touch.
http://mega.co.nz/#/investors

That probably means Bitcoin implementation isn't a high priority at the moment, no?

Its not terribly difficult to implement Bitcoin. It's just a strategic decision really and for this guy, it should be a no brainer.

I wonder if people getting their bASIC refunds will try to pour money into the exchange trying to put their money to better use.

yeah this is definitely a possibility (though I didnt know there was a problem with bASIC)

I'm smelling the me.ga effect here.

I havent heard any news on that for quite awhile - was there something new recently?
1344  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: January 10, 2013, 05:02:46 AM
I continue to say its a bull trap, unless mid-14s will be broken with 130k+ green daily volume sticks. For a while we have 40k sticks max. This is weak.

this isnt forex, the same rules dont apply. Horizontal, irregardless of volume is positive for bitcoin and will continue to be until we cross into 3 digit prices.
1345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 09, 2013, 02:33:48 AM
The ask wall above 14 is crazy small right now. Most likely it wont get farther than that because people wont want to pay so much to get coins (imo)

Here's how pathetic it looks:

Of course, it could go totally bananas as well once we clear 14.

In which case:

Looking at this:

I can't help think that we just cleared the biggest resistance we will encounter until we hit the all time high.
1347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 09, 2013, 12:41:43 AM
did anyone else notice we just broke the 4 month high from mid-August (an eternity in bitcoin time)

Not sure which high you mean - the high in august was 15.5

Sure. I'll do my best.

If it weren't for those post-donatory second-thoughts...

I scrutinized your avatar a little better and it shows a hamster stuffing away corn. And the corresponding slogan that says "Hoard."
It's a good thing you warned me of those prepper folks you don't wanna be mistaken for.
Now I think it's only fair I warn you, too. Because I'm not sure the direction you're taking is the one you wanna go.

When push comes to shove, you better take care of yourselves. Because I sucked at playing Lemmings. Just to let you know.

The avatar is a bit of a joke about the state of bitcoin at the moment, not a personal philosophy =P

That puts it in a whole new light.
I see double meanings in everything these days.

Anyway, how much did I donate? .1, .01? That's still a couple million Satoshis. Will that buy me a ticket to the magic village eventually if the get-rich-quick-thing doesn't work out for me?

Thanks in advance

Theres no buying your way into this village brother - you gotta build it yourself!

goxxing again awesome spike to 13.70 that never happen  Grin

That happens when the price shoots up in a different currency.  Judging from the action, it looks like there's quite a bit of buying pressure from across the pond.  Arbitrage bots will smooth things out.

no, thats whats not supposed to happen.  i was sitting there watching all these prices fire off on time and sales up to 13.725 on Clark Moody w/o the ask side changing at all with asks from 13.59 on up.

I asked the question in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=133571.0 and the answer seems to be something to do with "mixed currency" trades

uh where do you see the answer?

1358  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin market on: January 07, 2013, 05:31:19 PM
bitcoins are wayyy overpriced right now. even ignoring technical analysis (which i generally do not -- i've been following along in the CRASH thread with similar notations and predictions as lucif) there is reason to suspect, as many on this forum -- albeit quietly -- do, that we are heading towards a midterm downtrend or even, for the first time in bitcoin history, a long-term downtrend.

and finally, probably my most subjective point:

bitcoins were worth $5 six months ago and there has been no significant increase in their utility or future value promise: i firmly believe the recent doubling is due to hype about the reward halving and market manipulation by pirate and others.

WRONG!

Six months ago it wasn't possible to buy cocaine straight from Colombia and have it shipped to Europe/US on Silkroad. Now it is. Like it or not that is a big boost to the utility value of Bitcoin.

lulz.

And to address the necessity of further utility - since when is this necessary for price movement? Since when has there been further utility in gold?

Future value promise is, well skyrocketing. If you are paying attention to the numbers that bitpay is putting out, this is a reason to be VERY bullish long term.

good old reality check to end the neverending bullrun that we've seen to date.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that there have been plenty of reality checks. Even in just the last 6 months.
