1342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Law Enforcement Attending Bitcoin Meetups Undercover? on: October 24, 2013, 06:04:20 PM
It's well known that law enforcement has been attending Bitcoin meetups since the beginning. Gavin has even been to the CIA to give them a talk about bitcoin.

Don't freak out about it, they've been around here since the beginning, everyone knows.

This is true. I wouldn't worry about it. Most people in the Bitcoin community are trying to build an honest, decent economy.

1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese government IS backing Bitcoin?!?! on: October 20, 2013, 09:03:59 PM
Regardless of whether this article is talking about bitcoin specifically or not (which I don't believe it is). It is clear that China is open to new ideas. They have made it clear they are not happy with the way the American government is performing. They have made it clear they are not happy with the endless printing of fiat dollars (in which they hold a massive position). They have allowed Baidu to accept BTC. They continue to accumulate gold at a record pace.

China is certainly preparing for change.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mBit or mBTC? on: October 20, 2013, 09:00:24 PM

1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really any different? Not in the long run. on: October 20, 2013, 08:58:29 PM
I've ran out of fingers and toes for how many alternate currencies that have been created. So I stopped counting. These have NOT affected Bitcoin. Bitcoin is different.

1353  Economy / Economics / Re: JPMorgan Chase goes Cyprus way on: October 17, 2013, 05:21:49 PM
I've seen too much this year to be surprised.
Yet another example that money belongs to the banks instead of people.

The market is big, we'll probably see mass exodus from Chase Bank to other banks.

Not likely. There is no way Chase would do this unless they know other banks will be following suite. They know this would mean a massive loss in business. This is not a good sign.
1354  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, Gold or Silver? on: October 17, 2013, 05:20:49 PM
All three.
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: Vote for me in 2020 as US President and I'll proclaim bitcoin national currency on: October 17, 2013, 05:20:18 PM
lol, best of luck to you!
1356  Economy / Economics / Re: Chase Bank limits withdrawls, Bans international wires on: October 17, 2013, 05:19:30 PM
Chase would not risk losing business in this manner unless they know other banks will be moving in this direction as well. Capital controls are never good. Not a great sign.
1357  Economy / Goods / Re: New BitCoin accepted here sticker standard printing only $1.98 in BTC shipped US on: October 17, 2013, 05:17:51 PM
No, it is actually 99 cents in BTC equivilent, so one sticker for about .33 btc.  About 1 BTC should buy two stickers and US shipping.

haha I was reading this post and was so confused, then I saw the date.

Was a good time to buy bitcoins!

lol yes, quite a price change.
