Please clarify on this:
1. The participants shall receive the payment in KMD that is equal to 0.00x btc at the end of the campaign?
2. The total post needed to qualify is 25 posts cumulatively, which means we only need to do the total of 25 within 9 weeks?
3. (I know it's been asked before, but I can't find that you've respond on this) Due to its very long period, can you do escrow? Or at least passive escrow where if you failed to pay us in KMD by the end of the period, the participants will still got paid in btc that's already escrowed.

There are 9 weeks until the end of ICO, so you could earn 0,036 - 0,0675 BTC depending on your forum rank. You only have to post 25 messages during the campaign to qualify. There's also the 25 % bonus for using an avatar.
Considering the award per post it's not that bad.
However, if the rewards are too low to we can reconsider. We of course want this campaign to be a success!

BTCD investors have already invested, even before the ICO has started. The earlier you invest, the more risk there is and thus we have the bonus system. It is not really a limit. There is only one limit, and that is for the bitcoin: 30 000 BTC We know that the BTCD's are worth ~6800 BTC in the ICO, and that info is of course relevant. We now included that calculation in the announcement! 5.- Isnīt that a sneaky way to dilute BTC investors stake (!) and having more working capital than the 10% stated?
The amount of KMD not redeemed should stay at a very negligible level compared to the total funds raised. Redistributing those KMD's would make things overly complicated. We have to also remember, that those unredeemed KMD coins are there only after one full year. 6.- Why not limit the amount of KMD available to swap for BTCD and the time to do the actual swap as is done with BTC investors? Wouldnīt be that more fair?
There are some investors who might not follow developments that closely, so it would be very unfair towards them if we just announce a new ICO with a couple month timewindow to swap ... or else they lose their investment. We want to honor our investors: current and future ones. |

Thanks for comprehensive answer, your model is very well thought out. Will there be some minimum stake required to run a notary node like dash, or is the vote the single determinant? How notary node operators are selected and governed to keep komodo decentralised will be critical, I look forward to more details on that when you have them.
Like jl777 already explained there won't be any minimum stake required, but the notary nodes have to meet certain requirements. Earlier jl777 had estimated the following: - 64 GB RAM - 300GB SSD - ddos protection via second node - good bandwidth On top of those you must get enough votes from the KMD stakeholders to get elected to run a notary node. So you will have to campaign and assure that you are the best person to run a notary node. |

Question about BTCD swap:
I understood that all of those 90% of KMD will be sold for BTC/BTCD investors, but how do you guys know how much KMD:s will be given to BTC investors, since you don't know how many BTCD owners will swap in 1 year swapping period? Or do you plan to wait 1 year and then share the percents, when we know how much to give BTC investors and how many to BTCD swappers?
The more BTC gets invested, the higher the percent they get will be. Only after the ICO ends we can calculate how many KMD coins goes to the BTC investors and how many to BTCD investors. Likewise we can calculate the KMD/BTC and KMD/BTCD exchange rates only after the ICO. Like James already said, we must assume all the BTCD will be swapped and reserve enough KMD tokens for them. In order to simplify the BTCD to KMD swap, a fixed exchange rate of 1.0 BTCD to 0.00532074 BTC was established. This exchange rate was determined by adding a 50% bonus to the daily closing price average of August. The swapping process will take place after the ICO ends. Announcement!
A lot of people have asked about the translation bounties and bounties in general. We have now decided which bounty programs we will be running, and those are translation bounties and a signature campaign.
We won't have any social media or newsletter bounties as we thought they will not be effective enough considering the amount of money they would require and the risks of abuse they carry. We wish that everyone on our email list is there because they are interested about the technology and not only about a small bounty. Likewise we wish to have an organic social media growth instead of an artificial boost.
Translation bounties
We will have 5 translations, each worth 0.1 BTC. The bounty will be paid in KMD after the ICO. We will translate to the following languages:
- Spanish (reserved)
- Chinese (reserved)
- French (reserved)
- German (reserved)
- Portuguese (reserved)
Note that you must be a native speaker to do the translation! We will accept the translation and eventually sent out the bounty only if 3 other native speakers vouch for the text.
One from our own team will do the Portuguese translation, so it is already reserved. The other translations are free for anyone to take, just send us a private message! It would be great if you can explain why you are the right person to do the translation! If there are more than one person looking to do the same translation, we will pick the one who we believe to be more capable.
