1341  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: May 27, 2023, 11:15:09 AM
@everyone - I’m not sure I’ve even asked this or have seen anyone state it..but has anyone personally ever been able to redeem a Titan 2FA or know someone who has?

I was bored and looking around for new coins and came across some Reddit threads I apparently missed ..it would seem the 2FA Coins have had issues since day 1.

Todamont…is this you below, or a buddy ?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3xz9e9/titan_btc_coldstorage_coin_database_shows/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

Back in 2020 Tim proposed the idea how re-making old peeled coins. It was of course not well received (Anon going GOML on him and justifiably so as Tim was trying to make new sales despite everyone telling him this was a piss poor bs idea) BUT, you’ll see LesbianCow calling him out for non-responsiveness due to 2FA issues..shocker, Tim never addressed it, at least not publicly.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210516.0

Some random posts I quickly found (I’m sure there’s more)

I already know Tim was planning a scam from early on, if not day 1. This is interesting..so he was charging $140 extra for PK coins , versus 2FA.  There is no logical explanation for this. If anything it makes FAR more sense to charge more for 2FA, as it’s extra work for him, his website, his vault rental at the bank he said he stored the private keys at etc. Looks clear to me this was in aim to push people towards 2FA..and we all now know why.

This post is to inform but also help build the legal case against Tim Fillmore.

For the love of god someone sue this piece of shit.  He’s a scammer, and has money. So many want to hunt down Yogg who stole way less and has no money…I for the life of me can’t understand this.
1342  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: GameBoy Hardware Wallet! on: May 27, 2023, 02:52:35 AM
Have saved this for I think almost 30 years at this point. Screen needs replaced, but I’ll def be getting one of these wallet cartridges.

I still have my TalkBoy and YakBak too if they are next lol

A few blows and it’s working, despite the screen having fallen off (it’s just resting on top now)

1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mr Beasts house robbed of everything except for bitcoin on: May 26, 2023, 05:26:40 PM
Even though even today not everyone knows how non-custodial Bitcoin backups work, I assume this was years and years ago (probably pre-2017 bull market) when Bitcoin wasn't that much of a household name yet.
The video was uploaded 7 months earlier so don't know when exactly this happened with him and in past also btc was well known but the robbers might not be having idea about it or they were most probably looking for some physical goods they can instantly sell for cash. But Mr beast was lucky that they didn't get it otherwise it was big amount to loose and how can he just normally put the keys on paper next to pc I can't understand? So this is a lesson that we should safely backup our keys and also have house safety.
I think this is old because do you remember before that before creating a wallet the platform will recommend to the user to write it also in paper not just save it in your computer but in today's date it isn't recommended as it could be easily misplaced. For sure Mr. Beast right now invested to hardware wallet as it is more secure and he is for sure putting it into his vault

Just a confirmation, Mk4 is right, this happened pre-2017 bull market. This [1] article goes bit into details.

YouTuber revealed he was robbed of everything he owned nearly half a decade ago.

Thanks for looking this up, appreciate you both…been meaning to myself. I just found out who Mr Beast was maybe within the last year, and I still don’t watch his stuff..so it escaped me when it actually happened.

@everyone ..Mr Beast states they stole a bitcoin and they showed a picture of a copper btc coin but then says they passed by his keys (I believe, video has been taken down now)..anyone know if that’s what was taken, a copper coin ? Curious as a btc collectibles nerd.
1344  Other / Meta / Re: Did Laszlo Hanyecz exchange 40000 BTC for 8 pizzas, not 10000 BTC for 2 pizzas? on: May 26, 2023, 03:51:32 PM
40,000 BTC, not 10,000 BTC. Massive regret.
The sources you mentioned are not authentic. Laszlo is not active in this forum anymore. So, it's not possible to get an answer from him. But he was interviewed many times. He never said he traded 40000 Bitcoins for eight pizzas. Don't conclude just from some fake resources. Most Twitter accounts try to say something new and get attention to increase their followers. I won't believe any of them without a proper source. However, all three Tweets you quoted from the same Twitter account. If they can refer to the post where Laszlo himself said that he bought eight pizzas and traded 40000 Bitcoins, I will believe that. Moreover, I will look for the Blockchain transaction as well.

Don't trust anyone. Verify!
Whenever you see someone saying something without a source, Ask them to provide a reference from where they get it. Laszlo was active in the forum till 2017. Don't you think he would share that if he had done those deals too?

If you read the pizza thread, he comes back at some point and shares the wallet he used to make multiple pizza deals. If I remember correctly roughly 35,000 bitcoins left the wallet, which he stated were used for multiple deals here. He also posted two separate photos from two different deals, one shows papa johns pizza boxes, the other something different. I’m too lazy to dig it up now, but just look at his post history, I don’t think it’s buried too deep.

1345  Other / Meta / Re: Imgur alternatives for posting you images on the forum on: May 26, 2023, 03:45:42 PM
Imgur is much better than other services in my opinion, and I would like to continue using it, but I currently can't. I hope this is a temporary restriction.
Really? I'm curious, can you tell me what's so good about Imgur?

I’m with you on this one Mr Robot. They’ve gone down hill big time these last few years. They deleted the mobile version which had more features such as forum image imbedding/bb code , which the app doesn’t have (or didn’t last I checked). I always had issues on desktop too with images not correctly loading as well as image sizes coming out funky, and resizing option didn’t work half the time, also crap like images flipping upside when uploaded for no reason. They clearly cut costs big time across the board. I stopped using them prob close to two years ago, maybe they’ve gotten better since then. But never going back.

Of all the designs to use, why would they use that one? I know it was originally designed by MJB, but it has been completely ruined. Just the amount of shitty AliExpress "coins" I've seen with that specific design makes it instantly undesirable.

Everyone always rips off Mick's design.  It's pretty incredible how he managed to create something that is still being ripped off more than a decade later.  I'm guilty of it too to some extent (I actually paid Mick 'MJB' to create the designs for my Binary rounds as well as my Bitpics).  Whenever I see a creator here use his images though I always try and encourage them to at least send Mick a free one since I doubt they'd consider royalties.  This is something I'd like to see more of from this community.  We should be standing up for creators like Mick instead of buying their designs from creators that simply rip them off.

I agree.  This is something I have made clear to quite a few makers over the years who've claimed to have been the ones to create this design.  Especially those fucks at Cold Coins who have done nothing but rip people off over the years but have been held to absolutely very little accountability overall.   I wonder how one would even be able to tell today which coins are legit MJB ones from the early days.  Is it even possible?

From what I have seen/heard over the years and if I remember correctly, they are stamped with the year "2012" and copper. I think there were some that had a "die-crack" error as well.

Looks like they started working on it in 2011 from the mock up, but you’re right 2012 is stamped on the coin. I wonder if any of the copies also have 2012 stamps on them as well. Will have to go visit my collection and dig some up and check.

I drove around forever to find one:

Very nice, thanks for sharing! I’m assuming you’ve only got one, or do you perhaps have another ? Of course I’d love to buy one if you do and if it’s for sale.
1348  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 25, 2023, 01:38:11 AM
I like that some companies and I know even certain countries have been looking at the 4 day a week work week.  I laugh whenever I hear like a YouTube video short that's some motivational speaker who says something profound like "if you work a 9-5 Monday through Friday you're a sucker", shit like that is a joke.  Capitalism is probably the best form of government trade and that requires this type of work ethic/hours.  How else can it be done? Sure some people get lucky, but it's just not realistic to not have the 9-5 for most companies and businesses.
1349  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB-Which Wich Crypto Box on: May 25, 2023, 01:31:59 AM
Here is a good deal on them on ebay, price is decent:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255622077597

If they sell out, I have ones I could sell for the same price including shipping, but try there first, as I like my collectibles... lol

Thanks!

Mark

You sold me a couple probably about a year ago now (holy fuck time flies), and I know you got them directly from a shop, do you ever remember seeing the boxes there? I've followed "Which Wich physical cryptocurrency coin" on ebay every since I found out about these but I've yet to ever see one of these boxes pop up on there.  I wonder if they even exist in real life, perhaps this just was for promotion purposes.

1351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new milestone: 1M addresses hold 1 Bitcoin on: May 25, 2023, 01:23:18 AM
Wow, I'm actually surprised the number is that high.  I would be interested in knowing what the actual/true number is for how many different people own those addresses out of the entire 1 million.  I would have to guess that at least 15% of the 1 million address are those that are owned by the same/singular person.

As you point out this network clogging thanks to ordinals is not a good look for bitcoin and mostly just entirely fucking stupid imo, but at least it's being so heavily utilized.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 25, 2023, 01:19:57 AM
This is a tough one. On one hand I don't think it hurts that casinos set limits for their players as a means to not hurt any innocent victims (kids who suffer due to their parents gambling issues, for example), but on the other hand I don't like the government getting in to our business any more than they have to, so I'm not thrilled with stringent KYC rules and things of that nature.  I think perhaps education, and survey's could be a good thing, versus just forcing intrusive mandates.
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: May 25, 2023, 01:16:57 AM
How many times have you successfully invited some gamblers to online casino? What is your experience doing so? I know many will find this hard to believe but I kinda prefer bringing in gamblers than investors into crypto, why? They understood the risk already, there is no talk and talk over again, there is no dealing with someone fear and confidence..

I have successfully brought in four people into crypto gambling, and it was the easiest thing ever, they came asking if it's possible to use crypto for gambling and I said yes, but I told them that I am not ready to introduce any platform for anyone, but these guys then showed me there past gambles on a local website that only accept Fiat, that's when I got soft with them and I showed them the websites I use for gambling.

The thing is, they are small time winners and big time losers, I mean they lose more than winning, it's been two weeks and two of them tell me about their loss and gains, but they make it feel normal, to them it really is, not like the crypto investors today, always in hurry to double their money, some are even scared of investing in Bitcoin, which is the safest of them all.

"Small time winners and big time losers" lol.  That's pretty funny and kinda harsh, but I guess it's the reality of the situation.  I would prefer people use bitcoin to gamble than invest any day, as I think it's extremely important for bitcoin that it be used as a currency, whether that's for illegal or legal things, imo if it's being used as a means of currency it's good for it's utility/adoption and long term outcome.  The blockchain isn't private anyhow and bitcoin being used for illegal purposes isn't a huge issue, so this is why I say this so casually.
1354  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of entrepreneur in school curriculum on: May 24, 2023, 01:08:06 AM
This write up speaks to what I've been saying since I myself was back in school many years ago.  I was constantly telling teachers "we will never ever use this in the real world" and to my credit, those statements have held true, but I do recognize the importance of challenging and sharpening your brain, but more real world stuff needs to be built in to school curriculums and I couldn't agree more to what you're stating here.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 24, 2023, 01:05:42 AM
Just got off the road after working out of town and unfortunately seeing that my strategy of "man both of these teams can't possible get swept out of the conference championships" doesn't seem like it's going to work this time, as it didn't for last nights game with the Lakers lol.  I gotta stop betting on why I think things will happen or perhaps what tends to happen...and base it off the hear and now.  Heat and Denver are just superior teams, and it's been evident since game 1 for both teams.
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 24, 2023, 01:02:28 AM
The Denver Nuggets just had the better team.  The Lakers had no answer for Jamal Murray or MPJ.  Not to mention the Lakers were a team thrown together at the last minute who barely played together while the Nuggets have been building their team for years.  I think if the Lakers had a healthy LeBron for an entire year and were able to address some of their weaknesses in the offseason, they could have a shot.  It'll be tough though with teams like Denver existing, who are still very young and could be a new dynasty.

There's no doubt the Nuggets are better than the Lakers, as they didn't even give them a chance to come back in that series. However, we should also give credit to the Lakers, as they've done surprisingly well this season, especially in the playoffs. Honestly, I think getting rid of Westbrook was a turning point for the Lakers because that's when they started to perform much better.

Yeah man I mean when your best player has been in the league for 20 years, and you still make your way to the conference finals, that's damn impressive.  I didn't expect them to take out the Golden State Warriors, even though I was certainly hoping that they would.

It was a positive year for them despite not making it on to the championships.  Hope Lebron comes back.  I think he will though.
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mr Beasts house robbed of everything except for bitcoin on: May 24, 2023, 12:56:15 AM
Some of you may have seen this clip before, and I’m assuming a good amount of you know who Mr Beast is (if not he’s a highly followed social media “influencer” I guess you could say, but an actually cool guy who gives back a lot to people.

Here he talks about how his house was robbed, but the idiot robber just passed by his Pc which had a piece of paper sitting next to it that said “public and private keys” right on it lol. He laughs at what morons they were. Reminds me of the time my car was robbed of about $10 in change but they left my $600 radar detector and $2000 dvd player just sitting there lol.

Lesson here, not all robbers are there stupid, hide your keys!

https://youtube.com/shorts/rtDFx-U2IJU?feature=share

Mr. Beast is a very generous guy, but also, maybe this was just a stunt. Are we be completely sure that this wasn't staged just to draw attention? If there is a police record that would suffice as being legitimate. But maybe he is too rich to even care, one thing is for sure that Mr. Beast would definitely not leave his Bitcoin PKs out on the table in broad daylight next to his computer. Maybe there is some hidden symbolism in his videos? It might help if I actually watch it lmao. Good post m8!

Nah I think you're thinking too much in to this one.  As some have pointed out, this video is a couple years old ( at least I believe it is).  I mean I did some stupid shit in my early days of bitcoin.  I also recently heard Mr Beast I think on Joe Rogans podcast say that the only reason he moved in to a much larger /nicer home was the fact that he needed much better security.  He's just not a flashy guy, and if I remember correctly he said he still drives a very average car.  The guy doesn't need to pull stunts anymore, he's I believe the most popular YouTuber period and has been for some time.

1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 22, 2023, 10:36:04 PM
I am going to forever regret not placing a shit ton of bitcoin on last nights Miami Heat versus Miami Celtics game.  It was one of those times where you looked at the spread and thought "what the hell are the odds makers thinking".  I mean Miami dominated games one and two, and were being give 5.5 points AT HOME..I mean cmon.

Now though, that both series are 3-0, I'm just not real sure how to bet these next two games (tonight and tomorrow).  It's going to be difficult for either team to make a clean 4-0 sweep, so I think I'm putting my money on LA and Boston these next two games.
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 22, 2023, 10:33:01 PM
I've been getting increased gambling ad's not only on YouTube, but across the board (television/radio/social media etc).  The main reason for this however is the fact that gambling has been legalized in my state (State of Illinois here in the United States) so they are just now legally being able to produce ads like this.  It's honestly kind of crazy to see this, but I of course and am in full support of it!

Lets just hope YouTube pays a little attention to this, as they already allow for scammers to place ads, which is FUCKING insane that a company of that size and magnitude doesn't have a better checks and balance system, or even cares..so I can only image the type of gambling ads they might allow.
