Bitcoin Core creates a lock file that is only deleted once the program exits. If Bitcoin Core detects such a file, the instance will not run. Accessing Blockchain from two different places would result in a corruption (same scenario as how Blockchain gets corrupted if anti viruses attempts to scan it).
Why would you do this?
Most reasons should be easily solvable by using an RPC call instead of a second deamon, isn't it?
I am trying to understand, for example, whether somebody could run 10 bitcoin full nodes only using one single copy of the blockchain thus saving on storage costs. More specifically, I want to understand whether it is possible to prevent this behavior if it is already possible. Now you are asking the correct question. The answer is, yes its possible to fake e.g. 10 full nodes while only providing the resources (or only slightly more) of a single node. The 9 fake nodes would run custom software (not core!) that would forward the requests to the single full node. In theory this full node can be any other on the network that is available, so you could do this without running a single node.
The idea to proof that you run a full node and thus get rewarded for doing so has been brought up several times. I have not seen a good solution yet. I would applaud a solution as the number of nodes decreases and the costs of running one increase. There is another thread from 2011 which is about Multiple bitcoind on one machine. I will not agree to your opinion because it will be your fault when you convince someone to gamble and then became an addict to gambling. It is your deligence or responsibility in the first place because your teachings. I was introduced to gambling while I was still in high school and I have ever since gambled on sports but only occasionally. I have never lost money that has made a negative impact on my life. Dont gamble what you cant afford to lose! That is the most important rule and if a person can t respect that - it is not my fault. If I can so can you or anybody else. It might help if you post the site you want to purchase the premium account from. That way users can check if the site is legit or not and you might get a few responses. Why not convert your bitcoin to fiat and then pay using your credit card? Maybe he doesn't have one or is a minor. |

I have a thread in the Beginners & Help section where I try to help Newbies gain their first merit. It is meant ONLY for newbies and i put a certain amount of sMerits aside just for meriting newbies who have good posts. But, I am not getting a lot of responses there, which means that:
1. Newbies are not reading and browsing the Forum (besides the Altcoin section) and have not seen my thread.
2. Those Newbies who deserve merits have already been merited or will be merited sooner or later anyway, without my help.
3. They dont meet the conditions yet. One of the rules in my thread is 30+Activity.
The thread has been open from Dec 16th and it can be used as a good reference point that in fact there are not that many Newbie members who have decent posts and have not been merited already.

I like how the Premier League is implementing VAR in the way that if the referee in the control room can make the decision himself, meaning, if it is evident from the replay what the decision should be, there is no need to involve the main official to watch for himself. That would make the whole VAR process faster. In many leagues the match referee is still the one who goes to the screens and checks the situation for himself. This is taking too much time. If the VAR room can make the call, do it and dont get the main official involved.

If you take someone gambling for fun and that someone becomes addicted to the scene, I dont think this is your fault. If you can gamble for fun and for the trill but you are not throwing away money meant for rent, clothes and especially feeding yourself and your family then it is not your fault that the person you introduced to the scene does exactly that.
