Agreed. It's going to become the Beast from the East. It's a shame that crackers haven't latched onto it in the same way but it'll be an interesting process to witness when they realise what's happening.
13482  Economy / Speculation / Re: In the next five years, the bitcoin can not be developed from $650 to $6500? on: July 22, 2016, 12:18:23 PM
Very possible. The more important question is how likely it is. Despite all the cool goings on I can't really see much that tells me adoption is accelerating. It's plodding along on a slow uptick but that's not enough for those types of price levels.

All the while alts get sillier and pumpier and sometimes sexier. Bitcoin needs to get its arse into gear.
13483  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase now supports Etherium; Is this a threat to Bitcoin dominance on: July 22, 2016, 12:14:19 PM
no i dont think so. i think bitcoin is so much stable and it has such a strong position in present time. therefore i dont think any other currency will have any bad effect on bitcoin.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The proportion of people who genuinely believe in Bitcoin versus people who are waiting to get rich is probably pretty low.

If another coin looked like being a dead cert then the chances are the speculators would flock to that even if it was no more than a short term pump that did massive damage to crypto overall. Bitcoin's a long way away from 'too big to fail' yet.
13484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 12:02:50 PM
https://news.bitcoin.com/coinbase-helps-fbi-shut-kickasstorrents/     Huh

what your thoughts about this all guys?

It's not surprising and they're obligated to do it whether they like it or not. I assume this forum itself has been subpoenaed in the past.
13485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 11:51:13 AM

Wow, you're going to Pitcairn?

That's a hell of a journey.

Ascension, Falklands and St Helena primarily, and by the sounds of it the Saints are fond of 'chickens' too. If my ship comes in both literally and metaphorically then Pitcairn too.

I'd really like to do Tristan da Cunha as well but I could probably save thousands of pounds by going to a village on the local moors and projecting some sea on my VR glasses plus I'd have the option to leave any time I want when I got bored as fuck.
13486  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase now supports Etherium; Is this a threat to Bitcoin dominance on: July 22, 2016, 11:47:38 AM
Dunno. But I find the lack of due diligence pretty disturbing. I am impressed that ETH managed such a smooth fork. I am not impressed by the reasons why it happened.

I think it's safe to say Bitcoin and Litecoin are known and trusted quantities. How much do Coinbase know about ETH? It's clearly sub beta prone to the whims of vested entities.
13487  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-07-22] Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Operator Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison on: July 22, 2016, 11:40:45 AM
due to his ponzi scheme activities? but he is not the dev of ponzi coin huh?

This was a long time ago and this was THE ponzi. It dragged on for years and people were a lot more naive back then. Current ponzis are painfully obvious and pretty open about it sometimes. This was more insidious. He got over 140,000 BTC out of it.
13488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 11:31:43 AM
Au contraire. I'm hoping to visit some of the remains of the British Empire this winter. There are at least 8000 people stuck on rocks in the middle of the sea with nothing much to do other than sexually exploit underage people. That's not to be sniffed at.

How's YOUR empire doing?
13489  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Man Who Runs the World’s Biggest File-Sharing Site Has Been Arrested on: July 22, 2016, 11:25:39 AM
I hope the entertainment industry funded that investigation. I'd prefer tax dollars to be spent on more pressing crimes myself.
13490  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I don't understand why and how bagdadi is still alive? on: July 22, 2016, 11:24:08 AM
He's got plenty of space to hide in and it's considerably easier to get a spy close to a low level person. Someone like that is only going to be surrounded by his oldest associates.
13491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 11:20:44 AM
No. British. And as ever it's the ones hiding behind the lines who are the most hopeless. The fella we used to deal with had to wait four months to get a new battery for his mobile phone from the ministry of defence.
13492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 22, 2016, 11:18:53 AM
Is this possible?

Nope. It's had one awesome pump. Lots of other coins have had awesome pumps too and are no closer to getting listed in such places. It is on some decent exchanges already and how many other alts have fiat trading pairs? Not many.

For the big Western exchanges it's going to need sustained and enormous volume and evidence of mass interest. Look how dead the official nem forum and subreddit are. There's virtually no one there. It might get there in a couple of years.
13493  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why need to use a Mixer? on: July 22, 2016, 11:03:13 AM
Much people who use mixer want to clean their dirty coin or another illegal stuf. So i think use mixer is bad idea if you want mix our clean coin cause you will get dirty coin.

Apart from those freshly mined, all coins are going to have a fraction of traceable dirt on them. It's a borderline certainty that we've all got Silk Road coins somewhere. That's why this blacklisting stuff is so silly.
13494  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why need to use a Mixer? on: July 22, 2016, 10:53:12 AM
There are plenty of reasons to use one, many of them legit. It seems like a shame you have to do such a thing to shield the use of your own coins for perfectly legal activities but there you go.
13495  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Coinbase Customer Service really falling? on: July 22, 2016, 10:49:22 AM
It's probably no better or worse than plenty of other places but crypto people are paranoid and vocal so we hear more about it. I wouldn't use somewhere like that for anything other than instantly withdrawn purchases.
13496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 10:37:38 AM
I used to rent land off the military so got to see how it operated up front. It was not encouraging.

We turned up at our site one day to find a bunch of marines running towards us telling us we couldn't come within a mile of them as they were testing some top secret new grenade launcher on their APC. They told us to stay away until the low loader arrived to take them away in half an hour.

Three days later they were giving us joyrides up and down the runway because someone had forgotten to book the truck. In the end we had to arrange the transport on their behalf.
13497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 22, 2016, 10:29:27 AM
What are you lot on about? There are plenty of active devs floating around. They're not massively active on this site though. And they don't have much to do with totally artificial pumps.
13498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmixer Opens? on: July 22, 2016, 01:12:48 AM
No. They want to cut down their members. Those who leave won't get replaced. I do find it rather odd that they don't seem interested in getting rid of low quality posters. I'm sure there are plenty of better ones who'd like to get on board.
13499  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to buy without stupid "security" "features" ! on: July 22, 2016, 01:07:58 AM
I used Circle for the first time yesterday. They wanted my phone number for 2FA and my debit card. I bought some BTC within a minute of signing up. They didn't ask me for any verification other than that.
13500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to sell stuffs online and earn Bitcoin? on: July 22, 2016, 01:04:35 AM
You're missing one of the best options for UK residents - https://uk.webuy.com/

That's a national chain of shops that'll pay you Bitcoin for your old shit like mobile phones and games. You can sell to them online too.
