I've made 4 times as much trading since Coinex opened than mining! I had 60k and now I have over 100K  Half way to that next Card!!! in record time. This was the last big grab attempt. There are a couple nice walls there now but I don't know if it's the same guy. I bet it is. Trying to setup a bot now and getting BTC over to score off that manipulator again. I want to share some other discovery I made today:
In the last few days I was playing around with several other settings like --queue --expiry and --scan-time. And the more time passed, the less blocks my miners picked up. I tried all kinds of things to get it working again like resetting router, restarting rigs, ... I was about to give up when it occurred to me that the part of these settings might still have been stored and corrupted my mining settings. Then I remembered something you do when testing out new settings, to delete the "scrypt130511Tahitiglg2tc8192w256l4.bin" file in the cgminer folder.
No more than 10 minutes passed after deleting this file and my miners found already the first block again.
To make a long story short - if you play around with several settings and experience bad luck, try deleting this file - as this will reset and rebuild your proper mining settings.
Also, another tip:
If you add at least 2 --fallover-only -o stratum+tcp://pool.com:xxxx -u user -p password backup pools to your .bat file, you will increase your chances of finding a block while solo mining, as you will use the stratum's servers data to update your miner when a block gets found, so you are always working on the latest block. (And thus avoiding orphaned blocks.)
For anyone doing this just a FYI there is no setting fallover-only, it is failover-only. Also deleting your bin will not change anything to do with the block you are working on it is nothing more than the method the miner uses to hash on your hardware with your settings, compiled. If your card is acting weird though you can always delete the bin file and cgminer will re-compile it on the next start. Wasted another 10 hours with nothing last night. This is the painful part , that unfortunately all altcoins are tied to bitcoin. As usual I'm just unlucky been mining with 1mh/s for last 30 hours with nothing. I've got another machine with 400kh/s but for some reason cannot connect to the IP any trick I need to know for winblows 7? Localhost, direct IP and name resolution all work fine on host system. Name resolution and ping all work from non connecting system. No firewalls and I changed the ports to below 9k as I read that is an issue with some qt's or some such thing.
Put this line on earthcoin.conf to fit your network: rpcallowip=192.168.1.* thx man.  I gave up, back to pools. I'm just not the lucky type. |

I think that what is happening is due to old versions of the client still in use, some back to 1.0.2. Using getpeerinfo you can check that for yourself. Not a lot I can do about it except remind people to use the latest version. so as far as I am concerned the code is stable, the chain is stable and I can move forward with developments to use TAG in earnest.
Funny reading this thread is like reading the Orb thread last month. Same excuse's from the dev almost verbatim. Why don't you get in touch with Mad_Max like I recommended. He probably will only take a small bounty to fix your issue. He fixed ORB because he liked the coin and the dev turned it into a all out war instead of adopting the fix. But they have worked it out and Max is now a dev. Lurkmode on. |

I haven't had time to look at the code, but I posted the relevant sniippets in case someone can digest the math from the code. I won't be available for the next few days, for anything other than quick message responses. Otherwise I would've looked into it..
There's still orphans occuring, not as bad as before, but it's odd how some pools seem to get waves and others don't. We're trying to look into possibilities why. I've been focused on POTcoin lately, and even with significant hash flux, it's never been an issue on that coin.
