I do believe that sooner or later the coins that are fully anonymous/untraceable will have the success. Monero is already big, but it's far from its potential. Aeon is a worthy follower imho.
But really, there are a lot of good coins coins nowadays (along with 100x more shitcoins, I know), so you'll have to do some research on most coins people suggest in this kind of threads.

It can be both. And it is both of them. In countries where the inflation is big, or just the local coin weak, many just hold USD or EUR in the same way you'd hold assets. And clearly, USD and EUR are currencies. Same thing happens now with Bitcoin. Just the people from countries with strong currencies are not familiar with this concept.

Unfortunately I am way too small for solo mining. So thanks for the list, I started to try out those pools. I am not certain yet which pool is better for me, my hash rate is pretty small. Of course, I started with the bigger from the list, since for the peace of mind is better to see now and then a block is found. (Until now it's all good.) So yeah, I am back to AEON mining. Bad handling on a pool here or there will not make me (yet) not like this coin.

Edit: Another point is the temparature of cores (around 61-64 ºC). What do you think, can I burn out my laptop? Does it reduces the lifetime of computer?
From what I know most laptops don't have efficient cooling and they are not designed to run on heavy load 24/7. So, again, from what I know, you will indeed reduce the lifetime of that laptop and have a chance to burn it. "Luckily" you don't try to mine with GPU, because the chance for mishap rises a lot.

I am all for cutting out the scams and clearing up the whole alt coin scene and while China has implemented the regulation of ICO's and Japan also what price do we all pay for that regulation?
I mean this whole thing is supposed to be unregulated and decentralised are we moving away from that by following China's lead?
Actually Bitcoin regulation was attempted long before China. And yes, Bitcoin needs regulation too. That's what we have to start with. If it's unregulated, it doesn't exist. That's one of the reasons the banks boycott Bitcoin (of course, there are many other reasons), that's one of the reasons most funds don't invest in cryptocoins, that's one of the reasons Bitcoin and then the alts are not mainstream yet. And if China does something right, don't be afraid to follow, just because it's China. Of course, give it the best judgement about being right, because it doesn't happen that often The decentralized utopia is nice. What's decentralized in crypto? The biggest miner is China because the power is cheap. Some coins are centralized from the beginning or have masternodes which are hosted in same and same datacenters. Not much else remains untouched...

Do I need to link my address again if I deposited more bitcoins on it after I've chatted with transition bot?
No. A linked address is linked. It's about the address. When the distribution time comes, the amount in that wallet address at that time is taken into account. Just imagine that if it would be done different, people will link a wallet, then move their Bitcoin, link the new wallet and so on...

Maybe governments really start to do something. Scam is a scam and scam should get you in jail.
This is a really good point. China already started something about regulating ICO. All the crypto world would need to get clearly regulated. And then the really good projects will go on, they'll mean much more money, and the garbage will stay in the bin, else the fake devs will face the chance to go to jail. Unfortunately I feel like most of the ones that could regulate cryptocurrencies don't understand them and are afraid of them.

I don't understand the hype with "AIRDROP" coins. It's basically a way to disguise the fact that its been pre mined. Back in 2015 any coin which was pre mined got negative trust straight away and now people are just encouraging it and investing in it.
This is because people want to try different things from PoW, but unfortunately if you don't use PoW, you are then stuck in a sea of akward possibilities such as ICO, airdrops, or forking an existing coin or whatever. Some projects have good ideas like Byteball, but the way the coins are distributed is a joke. You basically depend on some russian guy that controlls all the supply airdropping it properly, also they change airdrop terms out of nowhere as they go, I like the simplicity and predictability of PoW when it comes to delivering the supply. Nobody has come up with other ideas. PoW is not good anymore, it's not green enough some say, although I still don't see a better way to distribute coins. Quite a number of coins do nowadays "airdrop" which are actually payments for signatures, twitter, fb tasks with the sole reason to create hype around the new (usually worthless) coin. If the trick works, some exchanges will join the game, some will try to buy and then the bounty hunters along with the so called dev will sell all they can.

It has recovered from 0.0006BTC to 0.0007BTC wow. Well, I will start to be on a happier tone when it recovers at lest to 0.0012BTC, which about is half of WAVES ATH. While I know that WAVES has a good potential, the investors don't agree with me. Maybe the development is still slower than they'd expect (or than promised).
this is the wrong attitude, you dont need 2 look for reassurance on the market or price, you need 2 check the fundamentals and waves will soon outshadow every other blockchain project, is it priced in`? NO thats a good thing not a bad thing, otherwise you could easily buy ethereum with ur logic I do believe that WAVES is a good project. But I cannot dance around in happiness about mega bullish trend when WAVES quotation is very far from where it should be. (edit: and pretty far from where it was not long ago) And I also start to get tired of "if it's falling it's a good time to buy too". Maybe it's not my most optimistic day, but it's not only that, as you can see...

By 2015 i was thinking this community was too loaded with scammy premine shitcoins. Now its just full on BS. Now premine is the normal Yes its lost on this crowd, but you know ICOs, premined giveaways, coins for development ( ) all defeat the whole point of p2p crypto Shitcoins are not the worse. At least in many cases the "dev" had to work in the code to produce that. Nowadays we have a lot of new tokens. eBTC, eXMR, eETH, eDASH, eWhateverCoinYouLike. Aaaaand the Bitcoin* "forks" But you're right. 2017 came with a lot of garbage in cryptocurrencies world. It's way harder to find out the legit ones. But it's not unexpected. There's a lot of money around this area, more and more money, a lot of kids (or better said, people with insufficient financial knowledge) have wealth they don't understand, a lot of people want to grab some of that wealth in a way or another.

Hi I'm new to the forum and hate to come to a place which evidently has a dedicated and serious user base just to basically ask for money but I think all other options have been exhausted now. As you'll know bitcoin hit an all time high yesterday just as I went to the ATM to get BTC to purchase something. I was already stretching myself financially to have enough. By the time the coins were in my wallet, I was 0.0005 short. I don't think theres much point of putting up a collateral for this kind of money. But if anyone wants to do me a massive solid, I would be really grateful. I hope I haven't pissed anyone off too much by asking for this. Thanks for your time Since Bitcoin has fallen a little on the markets, keep an eye on the price, you may at some point get to have just the amount you need... if this story is right. However, you are not in the right place to beg for money. And.. how comes you bought Bitcoin to buy goods and didn't buy for fiat directly if that was what you had? Is it something illegal you try to buy? In this case I give you an advice: don't. Bitcoin is not as untraceable as many of you think.

This is the 3rd HVC I hear of, after the old dead (?) Heavycoin and some other coin. But how comes that the ticker is not HWC? Also, it the ticker HVC as in title or Magn as in text? And the reason behind this coin is.... ?

Theres bitcoin cash, there's bitcoin gold, shall I assume there will be a bitcoin silver hard fork before the end of this year or 2018?
The new trend is set, so I expect more and more altcoins to come with Bitcoin in their name. Is Platinum taken btw? How about Diamond and Ruby? But they bring no value at all. It's the hype they rely on to sell worthless coins to unsuspecting newbie trader/speculator wannabes.

Just giving everyone a heads up here. The rates and rules for this campaign will be changing come this thursday/friday. We will be switching the campaign to 25 posts per week in order to qualify for pay and the new rates will be Sr-.015 hero -.0225 Legendary - .025.
Bitcoin jumping over 6000$ has made Baryom re evaluate the rates. Sorry guys
Changing the rates is something I was expecting. What saddens me is the limits of 25 posts. While most of my weeks I used to comply, especially lately I was busier and less active and I had less posts. And one thing I loved about this campaign was that there was no rush to post. Of course, I will do my best to still comply, it's still one of the best campaigns around here and Bitsler is a nice place to spend time when you have it.

I really appreciate your prompt response but can you explain further on how is been done on the WAVESDEX please, i will welcome your response again Sir. Thank you in advance. You have to install WAVES wallet. DEX is inside the wallet. On the DEX page you have to select your token on one side and BTC or WAVES on the other side. More detailed info is here: http://www.waveswiki.org/index.php?title=Tutorials:_How_to_trade_tokens_on_the_DEX! Make sure there are buyers for your tokens ! Make sure your wallet contains some WAVES dust because the trades on DEX cost a little money.

Blockchain is just a database. While indeed it can hold signatures, for example, I don't think it can hold code that scans/disinfects. Also, I didn't see any incentive for antivirus companies to give other companies their signatures. Maybe I'm wrong, but decentralized scanning will have to wait for somebody with better ideas

A facut cineva o retragere in ron recent??? Me se pare cam mult pe o retragere in ron. Speram.
Bafta, sper sa iti intre banii maine dimineata.

I have an old PC and I don't pay for eletricity, so maybe I can do some coins and wait if it get some value. What do you guys think?
It depends how old your computer is. If your CPU doesn't have AES-NI capabilities it's going to be frustrating. Of course, the best way is to mine a little to see what's the hast rate and then make a calculation and see if it worth the hassle. Even finding the coins to mine can be a challenge. Cryptonight and cryptolight algorithms can be your friends.
