Where's the noise? It feels so quiet in here without the trolling and updates. Sad
13542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will the world look like in 10 years if Bitcoin succeeds? on: November 01, 2015, 10:41:55 AM
People will donate on twitch using bitcoins.
People will get their weekly grocery and marketing using bitcoins.
And something like these.
I don't think even in good situation it could hit around $10.000.

Gamer spotted. Wink

If in case bitcoin becomes globally accepted in the future, money transfer services wouldn't be a thing as bitcoin will be largely used in transferring value in different parts of the world. In order for it to happen, I think fiat should first crash for bitcoin to take over as the world's reserve currency. Give it 20+ years and we'll see if what I said is true.
13543  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: November 01, 2015, 10:14:25 AM
30 years? The average life expectancy of a fiat currency is 27 years.  Undecided

With USD? 27 is not enough lol. US will keep on covering up the weakness of their currency for too long. Also in 27 years, do you think we'll be wanting to convert to fiat if our coins can buy us almost everything? Wink

He's been idling around that range for hours now. Wink Probably getting ready to test new highs this week.

13552  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: November 01, 2015, 08:57:03 AM
I strongly agree that hundred bitcoins will make you millionaire by the year 2020. Almost 5 years are there, so anything is possible in this much time span. The recent price rise is the good example for anything would happen at any time in bitcoin ecosystem.

That is, if the price continue to hold on from there and not crash to establish a new floor. It seems that peoplw are eagerly waiting for four digits only to offload their stashes. :/
13553  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: November 01, 2015, 08:48:18 AM
I would if I get an incentive like the Core devs who are working on bitcoin. Similarly if the job pays better than my day job, there's no reason not to leave my current job for a better one.
13554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 08:44:08 AM
Here we go, Bitcoin to stratospheric prices and general public adoption due to the need to get their data back.

What we need now is an app that lets people automatically pay their ransomware taxes.

It's like in creating an app, we are indirectly supporting these type of activities, which is unhealthy for bitcoin's growth. Best thing to do is raise awareness against ransomwares and advise everybody not to download or click a link without having some scan.
13555  Economy / Speculation / Re: to buy or not to buy on: November 01, 2015, 08:36:39 AM
People don't dare to buy when the price is going down heavily. They always think it will go lower, and then they miss out on buying at such a low price. You need to have steel balls to buy when it's dropping fast.

That's when the regrets kick in: not buying when prices are too damn cheap only to see the price skyrocket. I've been buying at the lows and selling near the top for almost a year now, only to buy back in cheaper and enlarging my long-term stash. I'm pretty good now with my hodlings and planning to hold on to them for 5 more years.

Very nice plan. I also wanted to do like what you're doing. But most of the people here were not buying when the price of around $250. Out of fear most of the people have missed the those opportunity I'm now looking for the buying opportunity within $400 levels.

If you believe that this thing is going big, you shpuld be buying even though the price seemed to be tanking. That's where traders get their large profits from, and a nice way to enlarge your stash too. Wink
13556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 01, 2015, 08:32:37 AM
There's a 8% spread between China and the rest of the world, and everybody's sleeping here.  Huh

Western exchanges seemed to be hesitant on following China's prices as it seemed to be fake. I wonder why arbitragers can't close this gap even up to 3% too. Huh
13557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Getting a living from Gmabling alone is possible? on: November 01, 2015, 08:30:49 AM
i believe it might be possible if you play for example a lotterie that you can buy for a small amount of money and you win millions from it though by playing in a casino you cant make a living im pretty sure

An asteroid hitting Earth has a higher chance of happening than someone winning the lottery. There are millions of combinations in a 49-number lottery, so the odds of winning are ridiculously low. Casino would bust you sooner if luck isn't on your side.
13558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Newbies (or Anyone) Enjoy Paid Bitcoin Tasks? on: November 01, 2015, 08:25:27 AM
They always seem attractive at first. But once you get into them the tasks are usually too long or too involved or there's no simple confirmation that you've been paid for the task you've completed. It always involves signing up for promos or trial offers. Those types of tasks should pay Dollars, not fractions of cents.

Most GPT sites are like this: no confirmation as to whether you completed the task or not. That's usually the reason why there aren't many people are interested in GPT nowadays.

13560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how much gambling will impact on full time gamblers family? on: November 01, 2015, 08:20:23 AM
i doubt that gamblers think too much about their families they just want to make easy free money and usually fail doing that

I can confirm this as my father is a problematic gambler himself. He rarely gives us his salary and he is always irritated when he goes home. The situation forced me to work at an early age and now, I provide the basic necessities my family needs.
