1361  Economy / Economics / Re: Only 2% of addresses hold 1 Bitcoin or more — Is this true? on: February 04, 2021, 09:25:51 PM
This may say a lot but honestly speaking, this percentage is misleading, it's not its fault however but it is very much erroneous at best. Why you ask? Because the percentage most probably didn't took into account the fact that a huge percentage of bitcoin investors, whether big or small, hold two or more addresses with less than one bitcoin, which when added up, adds up to one or more bitcoins. Let that sink in.
There is discrepancy for such data especially if it's about determining the percentage of addresses that holds this and that. An address will only be considered to be holding a bitcoin if it's publicly posted by anyone unless there really are researchers and companies who are good in digging data like unexposed addresses that hold from 1 bitcoin to more than that.

We only have 1 reference and it's bitinfo, I haven't any other reference that can give the same stat as them. They are including the wallets that have less than 1 bitcoin while the other websites that I've seen, they only are for the rich list.
Bitinfo has been a reputable source of bitcoin info for a lot of us, and I doubt the researchers who took on this study relied their information from this site. Or they probably just skimmed through the whole site and cherrypicked what would work best for them.
1362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice games on: February 04, 2021, 09:20:59 PM
Though it may seem as though dice games are beatable since you're fighting against a six-faced three dimensional object with countable permutations, never be fooled. If anything, this game is purely based on luck and the worst part about this is the fact that there will always be house edge, meaning whether you win or lose, the casino earns from you. So I ensured that I stay away from dice or card games as they are no good for me.

1364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Big Short? - F2Pool Mining Selloff on: February 02, 2021, 10:36:12 PM
Perhaps the devs just want to make a quick buck off of the publicity Musk gave bitcoin. And to counteract the expected uprise in people who would want to test their mining platform. They wanna make sure they can only accomodate people that their system can accommodate, at least that's my speculation.
1365  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: February 02, 2021, 10:33:05 PM
Things become illegal when the rich are threatened by it. So they're doing their best to indict people behind this scheme. Which I honestly am against since the rich investors like Warren Buffet inspired us in the past to do investing ourselves if we want to be rich. Now, the question is how long will this spread out, I suspect it to carry on for a very long time, GME will be the memestock of the stock market.
1366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: May-Pac 2, will it finally happen? on: February 02, 2021, 10:23:57 PM
It's just going to be another Mayweather win since he heavily dominates Manny Pacquiao in points and technicalities, and just like what Marquez mentioned in an interview, he (Manny) wouldn't win unless Mayweather is knocked out. And since Mayweather is a very tough guy, Manny would need to reconsider his fighting style to accomodate a very formidable Mayweather.

1368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "The Great Reset" on: January 31, 2021, 10:47:48 PM
If they wanna implement it, they better implement the said Great Reset in a gradual manner that wouldn't affect the public's trust in the government or something that would turb out for the worst. The world can no longer afford being struck by another disaster just after everyone tanked the damage COVID-19 caused.
I’ve long doubted the legitimacy of ‘corona virus aka covid19’. I mean come on, the world is being brought to its knees because of a flu type virus that kills less than 0.5% of people who contract it? There is something more to this & The Great Reset is probably it, leaders just needed an excuse & this flu virus is a pretty lame one imo.

Thankfully we have bitcoin, they can’t take that from us.
Yo. It's fine if you think COVID-19 is a bioweapon they created to forcefully implement this reset, but it's direspectful for everyone who had died or had lost a loved-one, which by the way is a huge dividend of the population, if you'll just downplay the disease like that and just because it only affected a percentage of the current population, 0.5 is an awful lot of number considering there are 7billion people in this planet.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 investment strategies to make Bitcoin less stressful on: January 31, 2021, 10:40:36 PM
If you don't wanna make your bitcoin journey stressful, I'd say the best thing to do is to hodl and buy, instead of following some strategic religious program that will earn you a lot of money. See, bitcoin is, already as secure as it can be, meaning there is no way it's just gonna go bankrupt in the snap of a finger, so you have the opportunities of hodling it for long, not to mention the fact that you're just letting your money sit in your wallet until a better price comes by, which is not really stressful for me compared to following a guide or something.
1370  Economy / Economics / Re: Differences between an investor and common man! on: January 31, 2021, 10:37:38 PM
An investor sees money as a companion or a pet. A common person will see money as a god. This explains why most people chase through hell just to find way of getting money while Investors don't sweat it and would promptly devise a way to earn. Aside from that, an investor will see extra money as additional funds for investment ventures, whereas a common person will see extra cash as leeway for more expenditures.
Loan is a leverage and you can use it to enhance your standard of living or investment. To be a successful investor, it is about mind set and knowledge, a very good investor read a lot and most of the time look out for value, if a company is undervalued or a property is under valued they look for money to buy, but common man mostly thing about the present, how am I going to survive for today not thinking about tomorrow
Luck also plays a role in this, though not that much, I admit that the proper mindset can get you millions, only because it pushes you to think ahead of time and be a risk taker.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: January 2021 — share your gambling experiences on: January 31, 2021, 10:33:39 PM
I would assume that most of us around here didn't get a bombastic and explosive gambling experience this January, after all, it's the start of a new year, not to mention the gravity of the impact of the ATH that we experienced last year which could easily overshadow any event after it. It is a pretty bland January for the most of us, but I am confident that as months go by, we'll get something really cool.
Still the same, no much different from the previous year but I'm trying to bet in another gambling like Sportsbet and casino. I spend around $50 once a week and divide it into three gambling places (dice, Sportsbet, and casino). Indeed, it is a little money but I just consistently in a few months before to do that, I have no worry about losing $50 in a week at least I can vent my exhaustion after finishing my day's work or maybe after trading. I have no more expectations than my habit of gambling, because expecting to win a lot of money from gambling is useless, enough for me to make gambling a place of entertainment, nothing more.
That's like diverisifying your portfolio but for gambling this time. I wanna know if you're able to reap bigger profits in this technique rather than going balls-deep in one game only.
1372  Economy / Economics / Re: Would another war in the middle east affect crypto on: January 31, 2021, 09:59:26 PM
If countries who are big contributors on bitcoin's growth participate in this war, then there will be issues in bitcoin's price yet again, people will panic sell and due to that, the price will drop drastically. Plus not to mention if this war goes on a global scale, internet will not become as readily available as it is right now, so everyone would have a problem accessing it and bitcoin will undergo a temporary or a permanent, depending on the situation, paradox of value.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST GAMBLING MOVIES OF ALL TIME on: January 31, 2021, 09:40:15 PM
21 is a personal favorite of mine. Never knew how blackjack even works in the first place or how it is played and won but this movie got me hooked. Also, knowing that this movie is at least based on a true MIT blackjack team makes you reconsider how easily an ace team like that can be formed even inside a classroom.
I don't know about a movie particularly about gambling but there was a movie that I enjoyed a lot with my family and if I know the name was : Fukrey , it's a Hindi Movie in which the guy have some dreams and his friend manipulates them and they always win , it was literally so funny, if anyone is interested in gambling movies they should for sure give it a go , it's amazing. Plus I was thinking about watching the Queen's Gambit , it's a series not a movie but I really liked the trailer and some of the scenes.

At the same time my favourite gambling scene was in Hangover when the guy decided to use mathematics to win the casino over and he succeeded. For me it was indeed amazing.

Honestly this is from where I knew there is something like card counting lol.

An Ode to the hero :

That Jangover Scene had me laughing and shocked all at the same time, not to mention it became meme material because of how funny his face is during that scene.

1375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk adds #Bitcoin to his Twitter bio on: January 30, 2021, 10:19:35 PM
This sparked a lot of articles and of course needed publicity for bitcoin. That being the case, it has always been obvious thst Elon is a supporter of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. He even went beyond and implemented a bitcoin purchase method in Paypal, one of his most famous brainchilds. Now let's just sit and wait until all of this unfolds, this is gonna be epic.
1376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High possibility major governments will BAN Bitcoin in the near future on: January 30, 2021, 10:16:38 PM
If they can't regulate it or profit from it, the government will surely ban it. That's just the case for most of the things they have tried to control in the past but were unable to make use of, bitcoin might fall to the same fate but the good thing about is that banning bitcoin might cause more people to leave the country which is not good for economy. So they might as well just let it be.
Since they can't stop bitcoin, I don't think they will be banning it in the future. To be able to gain something from it, obviously, they will be making a law to tax it in the future. From the exchange or maybe in any form of way but I hope it still continue what it is right now. I don't see any taxation to crypto currencies to be effective as people can just evade it as long as they wanted it.
Exactly, taxation looks like a good plan for them, but we can't be too sure people will just let this slide especially when other countries are able to invest in crypto scot-free, plus the huge transaction fees they will still have to pay.
1377  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich have too much on: January 30, 2021, 10:11:27 PM
It pains me to say this. But a world where nothing is inventivised and everything is free will not work.if we are benevolent creatures who are all for peace and world understanding then it might happen, but we happened to be creatures of greed, sloth and profiteering, so no one will take the action of labouring so the rest of the society can survive. That's how it is, that's how me and you will act once it happens
1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another insane win!! $ 1B mega million jackpot on: January 30, 2021, 09:14:59 PM
It's obvious that rhey are doing this concealing of winner's identity in order to ensure that the person is not gonna be bothered by criminals, and the general publci and media on how and what will he do once he claims his price, personally, I'd choose to have all my neighbors be aware that I won a billion dollars than have 51 states be aware of it all of a sudden. And if it's any consolation OP, everyone had the same odds at winning a lottery, lady luck just happened to smile upon him that day
1379  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: January 30, 2021, 09:11:39 PM
Bitcoin pretty much experienced the same thing in the last, only that there are no greedy bankers taking advantage of it, just mostly small-time investors wanting to make a quick buck or visionaries who saw big potential in bitcoin way back 2009, they literally pumped the coin up until 2017 where we reached pur very first 10k milestone, and even now it is still evident.
That is the most unbelievable part. Now there is a clash of interest between those who were mocked bad by a whole reddit community (Robinohood), those who have been basically drained (hedge funds) and those who made a quick buck (WSB).
To me the most important thing of this whole story is that this showed how much power crowdsourced masses have. Using this huge power for the good or the bad can have huge consequences in the real life. How ready are we for that?

For me there is no particular good or bad in this situation as inadvertently people lost their jobs in ine way or another, but truth be told, people did this out of spite against the greedy bankers and have succeeded, which goes to show how an angry public could affect the tides of the market in a snap of a finger.
1380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Altcoin's loss become Bitcoin's gain? on: January 30, 2021, 09:08:01 PM
For me, not really. Usually what happens is that these funds will be transferred back to their respective assets as soon as the market stabilizes, so it is a give and take relation for bitcoin and altcoins in the market really. You'll see in a few months how this works, especially once bitcoin's value drops down, altcoins like XRP, will flourish while bitcoin will be in a lay-low state.
