1361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't Peercoin more popular? on: September 11, 2015, 08:56:56 AM
Out all of POS coins ppc is most established, in the future if people start moving away from pow then peercoins price and community will explode. For the time being peercoin is a "sleeping coin" waiting for its chance to shine.

Possible, but doubtful. Those who are first are rarely very successful. It's usually the copycat who is most successful.

With that analogy altcoins should have overtaken bitcoin by now

1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect hedge for our bitcoins? on: August 24, 2015, 09:48:58 PM
Peercoin has my vote, Sunny King designed peercoin to be a backbone currency. It's only know that many people are starting to catch onto Sunny King's concept that went into peercoin.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: August 24, 2015, 06:30:36 PM
ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.

If etherum ever becomes #1 crypto i will probably quit crypto altogether. Etheruem is just as bad as banks in my books.
1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockstream - wants to tax you and become the new Bitcoin oligarchy on: August 24, 2015, 04:29:59 PM
Even more important, how will miners make money?

If they will be getting the transaction fees what's the incentive to mine?

change to proof of stake screw the miners
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / B&C decentralised exchange (2nd peershares implementation) on: August 22, 2015, 10:25:30 AM
B&C exchange has launched it's teaser website: https://bcexchange.org/

B&C exchange is the second peershares implementation after nubits. Peershares is a peercoin technology which allows alternate blockchains to be built and secured with peercoins low cost minting technology.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $10 in Bitcoin. What coin should I invest in? on: August 22, 2015, 10:21:44 AM
I know it's a small amount, but I'd like a new altcoin to hold. Suggest what coin I should buy, and convince me why  Grin

(serious answers only, please)

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest peercoin, it has active development going on and innovative projects such as peershares. Peershares is a peercoin technology which has been used to build nubits and the upcoming bricks and chains decentralised exchange. There is also plans for a counterparty implementation to peercoin allowing for peercoin 2.0 coins to run on top of the peercoin blockchain.

Apart from that peercoin is built for the long term the 1% annual POS interest will allow for very little inflation and as such peercoin works better as a store of value rather than a everyday transaction currency. In 20 years time i can say with little doubt that peercoin will be around in some form or another.

In terms of price peercoin was once 3rd in market cap behind bitcoin and litecoin, within a space of 5 days the price went from $0.42 to $8. This kind of pump has happened before and it is possible for it to happen again. In fact just a couple of weeks ago when litecoin was pumping peercoin jumped from #11 to #4 on coinmarketcap. The coin has potential.
1370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: could bitcoin have different version?with different blockchains? on: August 21, 2015, 05:07:14 PM
could bitcoin have different versión?with different blockchains?can bitcoin have bitcoin core and bitcoin xt?

1371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / All aboard the litecoin train! on: August 20, 2015, 04:41:27 PM
Bitcoin is falling to pieces by the end of the year the price will be under $100. Buy litecoin it is the true successor to bitcoin.
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Stay out! on: August 15, 2015, 04:33:11 PM
Price is down 20% since 24 hours get out while you can i think i smell another paycoin brewing
1373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is ETH centralized or decentralized? on: August 15, 2015, 04:32:09 PM
is ETH store everything on it wallet and blockchain or it have to depend on a centrallized machines somewhere else?
i guessed no one can answer me anything, it's all about trading and no one really know crap about ETH.

i think if ETH and ETH dapp is centralized then it should be worth nothing. third party company like coinbase or blockchain should easily build contract and app around bitcoin, even little kid using java can build contract around bitcoin as third party. java is free! i guessed i will have to look into this if ETH and ETH dapp is centralized or decentralized.

Whether ether if centralised or decentralised i personally dont like the way ether was launched, to this day there isnt a proper announcement page for ether with total coins, algo, pools and other stuff, devs who dont get paid actually do a better job in my opinion.
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is ETH centralized or decentralized? on: August 15, 2015, 04:29:45 PM
It's not your business since according to your signature you are only into old coins..which 99.9% of them are just a btc copy and won't go anywhere.

Funny its how the "old coins" which have the largest marketcaps and highest prices. 95% of the coins created after 2013 are shit. Back in 2011 - 2013 there were a lot less scam coins now almost every coins is a scam/useless/pump and dump coin.
1375  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: August 15, 2015, 02:13:29 PM
Anyone got this running on a mac? I installed the drivers and everything on my mac but cgminer wont pick up this miner.
1376  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Good miner for experimentation? on: August 14, 2015, 09:48:48 AM
What would be a good miner if i just want to get the feel of mining without expecting to make my money back?. I already have a 4GHs stick miner and want to upgrade.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NXT dying? on: August 13, 2015, 01:35:25 PM
Ever since etherum came out it seems that NXT has been on a steady decline, is this a sign that NXT is slowly dying? What are your thoughts on this?

1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone actually asked how much ETH is needed for 'fuel' on: August 11, 2015, 08:18:45 PM
Here's the great thing about Ethereum. The people who support the project can read.  Roll Eyes

The people who support the project want to get rich quick the dump that has been going on recently is proof of it.
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone actually asked how much ETH is needed for 'fuel' on: August 11, 2015, 08:15:59 PM
all these people going on about how etherum is the next big thing you have to remember that if etherum does not find a audience it will be worth nothing, the features etherum has are nice but will people actually use them?. Why should they use something as centralised as etherum when there are many decentralised options that are being developed. Bitcoin already has counterparty which allows for 2.0 coins, DASH has darksend which allows for anonymous transactions, LTC has fast transaction speed and PPC has peershares which is a system in development for decentralised organisations. Besides the amount of control the etherum devs have over etherum is unhealthy and goes against the fundamentals of cryptocurrency, i would stay away from this too many red flags....

Question? Do you believe, or better yet... understand that what you just wrote is incorrect?

Counterparty? Vitalik rewrote the main counterparty asset feature in an ethereum language. His point is that custom assets could be just an app inside ethereum.

Ethereum is centralized? The blockchain is a distributed data structure, it's not centralized. There is no central authority or central authoritative copy of the blockchain.

Ethereum having a single blockchain (rather than multiple blockchains) allows contracts to communicate with each other, applies all the network's processing power to maintaining the security of a

single blockchain rather than fragmenting it altcoin-style and ensures that the code and data people wish to use is maintained by the network rather than again fragmenting that effort.

Nobody will use it if they don't get an audience? Well... yeah! Isn't that Econ 101? Ask the OP. He's the teacher.

Wow! And they are censoring you on the reddit?

You are right! Too many red flags. I beg you to stay away and not pollute ETH with your stupidity. You belong here.

Wow i never knew ethereum fanboys were so delusional, why is there a need for etherum when bitcoin and other top cryptos already have the same features or have the features in development?, the last thing we need is more shitcoins to pollute the space. Still if you believe that ethereum is going to the moon feel free to burn your money.
